[Q] GTA III crashing on GNex - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello, I've bought GTA III from the Market and it downloaded (quite slowly) the game data. But the app seems to crash every time I open it. I do not even get to see a title screen or anything.
I'm on AOKP build 9 with franco's kernel. Any ideas ?
Thank you

Franco's kernel has a mod that causes it to crash
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

which roms or kernal combo's allow it to be played?

Screenshots In XDA Threads Problem..

I am having problems with all of the screenshots showing up in the XDA forums. I am talking about XDA Premium on my GS2.
Let's say someone posted a new ROM with screenshots of what it looks like. Normally, as you scroll down the posting, the images of the screenshots will pop up. That doesn't happen for me. I get a small box where the image usually goes, but there is nothing there. I am on my home wifi, so it's not a bad data connection. Any help would be great... Thanks a million!

Same thing happens to me once in a while. I don't know if its the app or the internet connection. Also it doesn't let me post a screenshot on a post as a reply.

Yes, I'm currently on CM9 alpha 4, but this has always been an issue even back to gingerbread ROMs. It's not a huge deal, just annoying when I am trying to see what something looks like on my phone. Once I get home, I'm flashing TDJ's beta 7. Who knows if that will fix the issue? I guess it's not just me that has this problem.... Thanks for the imput.

K, found what's wrong, be sure to uncheck force gpu rendering in your developer options
Sent with AOKP goodness
I agree about the force gpu rendering causing the screen shots to disappear. Actually I turned off forced gpu rendering due to Flipboard not being compatible and the side benefit was screen shots suddenly started appearing again

Deep sleep

I recently realised the reason my batt has been draining so fast is cos my device has not been entering deepsleep..
Anyone know if this is suspicious and how I remove it?
Oh and before anyone asks I did 1h without music running and i only got 11s deep sleep

Already off battery still draining like crazy any ideas? Am using AOKP Milestone 1 JB. Not kernel problem as i have tried 5 different ones same problem

How's your mobile signal? Low signal makes the device waste more power to transmit data.

4.1.2's default radio is XXLF1. Try factory reset and/or another rom. Those partial wakelocks/alarm wakelocks shouldn't give you so much trouble. Also, kernel wakelocks?
Nope no kernel wake locks. Switched to codename android fixed now I guess
Thanks to everyone who helped me

Works fine here! When I was using 4.1 it seems slow but after the 4.2 it became much better

Works fine for me too.
I was using PA and the game was in slow-mo, I read some people saying that it was working fine on stock so I installed an OTA version and now the game is really smooth.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
If you want, AK kernel has this thing, that makes it run at higher frames, thus it runs like it's being played on a console.

try trinity? youll have to reflash your rom then flash trinity, no wiping anything. franco kernel uses its own ramdisk(thats where franco kernel tweaks are), and flashing your rom again replaces franco ramdisk with your roms. then trinity grabs your roms ramdisk instead of francos.
ok...appreciate it..Im running 3.2 sourcery now with stock rom...tried 4.0 but it screws up the storage..I'm not flashing anything for a week.lol

What could it be?

My phone phone has shut down twice today for not apparent reason.
Once I had it sitting on my desk and the second time it was in my pocket.
I saw a video that it might be the battery connectors but in my case I was not able to replicate it.
So what else could it be?

As stated by another user, occasional reboots are "normal" on 4.2.1 but twice a day is a bit ridiculous.
If I may suggest a substitute ROM in which I don't really experience any reboots, it is pretty much stock with tweaks, no AOKP, CM10, PA, eye candy, just a fast stable ROM.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1821673
Yeah I really wouldn't mind a soft reboot or even a reboot once in a while but I have had 3 shut-offs in the last 2 days it wasn't even a reboot, which makes me wonder if it's hardware rather than software.
Thanks for the suggestion but at this point I really don't want to flash a ROM, I will most likely end up coming back to stock at some point if I do.

I found that uninstalling the last couple apps I installed stopped the sleep of deaths.

Double check that your kernel settings are stock and you haven't done any tweaks that could cause kernel panic
