download the .zip file with the rom, put it on your sd card
boot into recovery (volume down and power) then select recovery on the hboot screen and press power to enter.
Select "flash .zip from sd card" or similar"
find the rom on your sd card and follow on screen isntructions.
You will need to "wipe" first though also in recovery.
first of all thank you.

I have an O2 branded desire which I have successfully unlocked and rooted using UNrevoker (I have superuser icon and can access su with terminal emulator). I tried to flash a custom rom but get plenty of MISC errors so backed out. What I really need is to debrand the phone and went ahead and created a goldcard but somehow always get bootloader errors when trying to flash with generic RUU. I have also loaded generic ROM (PB99IMG_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.2_Radio_32.49.00.3
2U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.zip) renamed it and loaded on the SD card but still will not flash with error wrong image. Can someone check my phone stats and tell me what image I should use or how to go about it. Thanks.

You need to use a newer recovery image. Check the sticky in general about pvt4.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
you need to get S-OFF and then you can change your recovery
Trying to get CWM Recovery, then flash some ROMs. I understand that first I have to unlock my bootloader so I followed HTCDev's guide and I did it once before on Wildfire S without any problems. On Desire when I enter the string into the Command Promt I get ERR message without any code that I should send. Didn't find any answers for that problem, but I heard I maybe need RUU or HBOOt or something like that. So I skipped that and went to root the phone. I used 2 versions of Unrevoked and SuperOneClick and they both failed. Now what I don't understand is this RUU thing. I can't find my version. And I don't understand why and what HBOOT should I flash. Below are the details:

If you are s-off, you don't need unrevoked or to unlock your bootloader. Just boot in recovery, and flash roms.
If you want a different recovery, flash one through fastboot commands.
Hi,
I have a problem. I Installed CyanoMod a month ago (but it so slow and shutting down at random times) so I wanted to install a ligther rom (MildWild MW-9.5 Based on Redux2 TEST). But now he keeps just restarting over and over to the pincode screen
I did a full wipe (factory reset) with 4EXT (although I rooted my phone with Evolutionary)
Any ideas/fixes?
my old topic from last month if u want to know more:
EDIT: I doesn't reset in airplane mode.

Have you tried any other roms?
Also from your other thread it looks like your radio is out of date. Just to confirm can you go into the bootloader and post which radio you have.
I haven't tried to reinstall yet? should I do a full wipe and try again maybe?

First update your radio. You can download the latest one from here.
After flashing that, do a full wipe and reflash the mildwild rom.

Use fastboot to flash it then. Setup adb/fastboot, unzip the latest radio zip and then use "fastboot flash radio radio.img" while the phone is in fastboot mode.

I want to go back to the stock version of Desire, The way it comes from factory, I tried according to many posts to flash a RUU but it cant as it shows S-Off even after flashing RUU. Some people says I have to downgrade hboot before flashing RUU, I am also not sure about which RUU I should flash. Please guide me how to do that , what hboot i need and how to come to stock hbook and please tell me the correct RUU to flash according my phone specs.
My phone Specs are:
Currently on Cyanogen Mod Version 10.1 (JB 4.2.2)

I flashed Alpharev downgrade by Android Flasher and then run the RUU (2.3 gb update) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196172
when i go to bootloader it still shows the option to go into recovery and etc , but when i clicked on recovery there is a black screen with a mobile and a /!\ symbol at the center of screen , then i have to pull the battery off and restart the phone.
Thats the before and after Alpharev and RUU (I underlined the changes)

Dunno so, usually when u flash bravo_downgrade.img then ruu it should be s-on again. Why does it matter that its s-off? it doesnt affect the phone in any way now that ur back on stock rom.
did you try the ruu from here?

nops thats not for warranty purposes, My camera was working fine before rooting, But after root camera is not working on any of the avilable roms for HTC, I tried almost all roms. I sent the phone to be checked for the camera for hardware issues and they said its ok, So I decided to return to stock on which camera is working fine.

I tried telling you before, it's likely hardware.
You're already on stock ROM, even if you get it to S-ON I don't believe it will make a difference to the camera.
If you really need to get to S-ON, try flashing the downgrader manually using fastboot commands instead of android flasher. Set it up here You will know it works as it will say "Alpharev Unlock" at the top of the bootloader screen.
Then try the 2.3.3 RUU again.
If the camera still doesn't work, S-ON and stock ROM, then it's hardware related.

No, you DONT just rename an .img file to a .zip file. Download the PB99IMG_downgrade.zip from alpharev. Then rename that file to PB99IMG.zip. After that put it on the root of the sdcard, and boot into hboot. Wait a few seconds and it should ask you if you want to install. If it installs successfully run the 2.3 RUU.
