don't u think that's a little bit "VERY LATE" news?
It is kinda late and the new Android version will come on the Nexus One first. The HTC Desire needs to wait till next year when it will come tougher with sense 2.0.

I was under impression gingerbread was gettibg rid of sense and other such nasties. So desire owners will have to wait for gingerbread. Surely developers can port nexus obe rom to desire once its released?

The desire had Froyo way before HTC released it 'officially' with Sense UI. We should get Gingerbread as soon as the source is released.
sense roms update is allways delayed by google/htc, thats why nexus one will get update immidiately and desire will get it later.
any way hope we will get gingerbird as soon as it is released.
i give it a week before one of you gifted nerd bastards bless us with gingerbread
i shall donate immediately.

Now I like the sound of this already!
well. no one know how gingerbread will look. froyo changed how android look and so will gingerbread.
Hearing the Gingerbread name makes me feel tasty. and it sounded very delicious rom to cook by the devs.
I hope we can have Gingerbread before Christmas...lol!

yeah thats right, but we just need the gingerbread base, than u can customize via launchers or wait for some good devs to make good custom roms like cyanogen or miui
http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/24/telstra-will-scrap-sense-ui-to-make-room-for-gingerbread-on-the/
In Austrailia there is an update for the Desire which is senseless... Just thought i should share it with yous
Dont see this happening tbh
It can be a misunderstanding as usual..
Remove sense ui = Remove some sense app ?

Agree, don't see HTC rolling out a Sense-less ROM. And I wouldn't like that either!
It says UI not apps, and engadget is a trusted sourse, im just tellin yall, i dont really care cus i have a desire Z just passing on the news
This may be true, since it would be TElstra update and not an official HTC rollout per usual.
Now if only HTC would realize how sucky SenseUI is and scrap it,and make a totally new UI ,that is sleek, fast, and mainly bloatware free!
It wouldn't make sense for htc to drop sense completely; not upgrading to sense v2.1 is more likely
I hope that we even get it sense or no sense. No update yet just speculations

i hope this is a true
This makes no sense lol
Anyway, I bet it's a mistake. Desire without Sense is not Desirable at all.
Would love to have the option to go senseless on my HTC Desire via a official rom. Would be prety amazing tbh!
Isn't that a branded phone? They probably shoved so much bloatware that sense doesn't fit

Funnily enough, their branding consists of a few web-link "apps", and a splash screen on boot up prior to the boot animation. That's it really
More than likely it is just miscommunication

So August can be interesting for us ;D i want to see official ROM for Desire too, it can be amazing fast after tweaks from devs maybe even faster than actually oxygen or cyanogenmod ?
regards, sorry for my poor english
I'd love it, i hate sense and such an update will be much more useful for aosp devs...

HTC should hire one of our Dev's and show who's boss! If a team of 3 can do it why can' a big organisation like HTC do it, does not make sense!
Hello guys.
Does someone knows news about possible future update with ICS?
Google said that every mobile capable to run Gingerbread will be capable to have ICS...
Thanks in advance for your time.

Officially, no, but trough xda developers, yes
Desire HD is more than capable. the problem is with HTC. Somehow i doubt that we will get the official ICS.
What's good about android is that we get to have independent developers developing roms for us so I'm pretty sure we will get an early port for our device once the sources comes out.
Google should start releasing sources now!!!
I think this update will be the reason i finally root my DHD. ICS looks awsome. I'm currently just using the GO Launcher with a honeycomb theme and that looks and feels a damn site better than Sense
no official news by now.
we should wait for sense roms based on ice cream sandwich. I can not live without official sense on my phone personally .
yes, one of the reasons why i rooted my desire HD last week because i know devs will be porting ICS to our phone. can't wait for that to happen. I'll be glad to donate to anyone that will be bringing an early ICS port to our phone

HTC are reviewing ICS because some of the improvments in ICS was brought by Sense on gingerbread, but there is no timeline for any device to get ICS but Cyanogenmod publicly announced no CM9 roms will be out untill the Source is out. they dont fiddle with SDK's

I hope it will come soon officially. I really love HTC and their work but if they keep ignoring previous models to sell the new ones, I will definetely change to samsung or sth else. Making you do things which only they allow is one of the reasons I hate about Apple, which even they are upgrading their previous devices, HTC is acting even worse. I already feel extremely disappointed about Sense 3.0 or 3.5 not coming to DHD officially, that would be too much.
Here is the Nexus Prime dump.
Hope some devs will take it on and port it=)

Galaxy nexus is the name not nexus prime
I'm really glad seeing that developement in Desire HD Section goes that fast forward
But the devs need the source code of ICS , which will be released if the Galaxy Nexus gets released... doesn't they?
SO it will be a matter of time until ics will come on our desire hd's ..
maybe we just waiting the dev to port it to our DHD....
htc sensation has official like i am read at gsmarena....

+1 I especially dislike not being able to update my device just because the manufacturer doesn't want me to, lucky we have xda. According to mike the ARHD dev sense 3 and 3.5 will soon come to DHD officially. The current ARHD rom is a leaked official sense 3 rom from HTC.

HTC Sense 5.0 Confirmed for One X, One S & More☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

what do u guys think about it?
and do u guys like the look of sense 5
I'll have to see that, cause we all know from past announcements/confirmations that they not all have seen the light. Just wait and see (till it arrives), no speculations and I don't believe in confirmations.
I like the look of Sense 5, but I prefer it on a HTC One, instead of my One X. I'm not entirely blown away by BlinkFeed, for me the clock and calendar are the most important info to be seen, news and social feeds come after that.

I don't know why they released their flagship for this year with 4.1.not 4.2?
So we hox owners will have to wait for sense 5.0 release after the release of HTC One then wait for the new Android version after they update it also..... Please god give us patience

Well technically yes, but I think it'll be very hard because the resolution of the screens are very different. Porting from Full HD to HD takes lots of work you know

so many devs got so many roms ported like on other htc's ....it's difficult but they could do that...it would take really a lot of time but HTC WILL updating ...they said it and why the hell could the hox doesn't get it? it's hardware is enough for android 4.2 with sense 5 or even higher version...till android 5 oder even 6....and if porting or cm we would also get android 7

I can foresee HTC releasing a dubbed down Sense 4.5. In my opinion it would not be in their best interest to release full Sense 5 for older generation phones when it's the major unique selling point for the newly released One handset.
If this were the case I would imagine some of the awesome developers within the rom community will port a full version after some time
