hey
since i'n a newbie here, i can't post this in the right thread
but i'll give it a shot here.
I recently flashed to the unofficial cyanogenmod
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337178
but i can't get a gps fix now... can anyone help me??
Had the same problem, but found the solution here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239713.
Actually you can experiment with the servers, for me North-America works best, even though I'm in Germany.
nice! i'd like to try... but is it really work at cyanogen?? i'm using cyanogen too... (of course unofficial...)
I have the same problem, and already change da gps.conf file
Well, it worked for me, if only after a few days. Got a really quick fix now.
And I'm on Cyanogen 7.2 RC0.

How's that working out?
i've been waiting to try it until the "official" release...
Am on RC1 now, it's pretty stable if you don't need a2sd. GPS fine. Seems to me the most reliable of the cm 7 roms up to now.

I'm using Cyanogenmod 7.2 RC1 and GPS works fine.

GPS does not fix
I'm using CyanogenMod-7.2.0-RC1-b1-gio-KANG. GPS finds loads of satalites but never fixes to any, i've already changed gps.conf to europe server and still it never fixes.
thanks,
it's working now...
I'm on CM 7.1 RC3... pretty stable now...
waiting on a stable release of the 7.2
Running cm 7.2 since it was releashed and sometimes gps sticks after 5 minutes but fastest was 10 seconds and I dont use any gps tweaks

Yeah i said diff. I apologize.
So what's the difference? Currently I'm running CM6 test8 cause the bluetooth works with wiimote. But my wifi tether I can't get to work. **Edit** But I can't get my PSX4Droid to work. This really has nothing to do with anything but I just want to know what's the difference or benefit of the nightlies.
Mashup- includes some bugfixes

So why do they compile a new cm6 zip every night?
Some fixes are added from main cyanogen git

A new nightly is made every so often that include incremental fixes that are extremely minor. This may result in koush testing different things and seeing how they work out so that maybe some of the fixes that do work go into the next test i.e. cm6 test 9.
People who use the nightlies are running roms that are experimental and are not totally stable. Just don't worry about the nightlies if your current cm6 is working fine. All the fixes that do work from the nightlies will eventually be released in a stable rom.
Thanks. Well now I got my wifi tether to work...but my PSX4Droid doens't work in CM6 test8. Can anyone confirm if theirs does in test 8?
T-Mobile is having a web only deal right now with the Samsung Galaxy S 4G and the G2. I just ordered the G2 and I'm wondering which Gingerbread rom you guys are using?
I just need something that has everything working with over clock. Anybody got any suggestions? Is there a difference between Cyanogen and Nightly's rom?
CM 7.0.0 is the latest stable. No more nightlies. I try other roms but keep coming back to CM! Some people complain of gps issues but I don't use it so I can't attest to that...

Oic. Anything changed in it from 7.0.0?

Just a couple of small bug fixes to do with the notification bar not being smooth when you slide it down. And if you had a short cut or gesture mapped to open the notification bar in the stable release it would not open, but it has now been fixed.

I tried all the ROMS in Rom Manager and after just a few days i eventually went back to CM 7.
When you root follow the guide on the wiki here, not visionary.
Also want to mention that my GPS is broke Since i flashed Virtous, still broken in MIUI and CM 7. Im about to try the GPS fix now.

Thanks.
I would do some research myself, but don't have a computer at the moment and it's a bit slow to research on my outdated MotoCliq. Lol
I have been using xboarder56's gingerbread ROMs, and they are pretty close to stock gingerbread, I think. I have never used the CM or any of the other ones.
I also rooted my phone using this really easy method which uses visionary then I uninstalled visionary and haven't had a problem. I think it was the method that didn't require ADB.

No. There's a method here that's SUPER SIMPLE not overly complicated. You use vision for temp root and type like 3 commands and you're good to go! This command stuff is foreign to me and I did it just fine
Sent from my CM7 GDeux
I rooted my G2 2 days ago, I used the Visionary to temp root + gfree way to root, had no problems, worked on 1st try. The first and only mod I have flashed is CM7. Gonna use it for a bit, then probably try some others, probably will always come back to CM. I shouldn't have tried it 1st haha, should have tried it last. Its kind of a hassle having to re-install all your apps, and redo all your settigns and stuff, after flashing each ROM. I want to try the meXdroid ROM though, has some Xpera features, looks nice. I also have the GPS problems- weather apps and maps never being able to lock on my location. There is a fix in this thread, haven't tried it yet. I don't really use GPS, anyway, always keep it off. Have only used Google Nav once, hahaha.
Use gfree, you get sim unlock super Cid the whole shebang. Just follow the wiki its laid out perfectly

I used the visionary temp/g-free method and everything went smooth.
I noticed that a lot of themes and such are mostly created for the Nightly version for CM7. Why is that?

Pleased to here rooting went smoothly.
If your running CM7 the best bet for themes is to use the theme chooser, you can download themes from the market or if you head over to the general android themes forum there are loads available for free. The great thing about using the theme chooser is that your not stuck to running a certain release of a ROM just because of a theme, they will work on the latest nightly's.
But I thought that most of the flashable themes that were available for our handsets were now updated to run with CM7 Stable
Am I the only person that has problems with Jellybean on DHD?
It often switch off suddlenly...this is the reason why I got back to android revolution hd....but for the few minutes I tried JB I've seen it was exetremely fast so I'd like to find the problem.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks
Try jelly time 10.1, and set your DPI to 160. I am having no issues at all. Using it as a daily driver for weeks now.
I was using ice cold sandwich, and had many reboots, dropped calls, etc.....

See if the latest JellyTime or codefireX has the same problems. It should be fixed in the latest version of each (and I'm sure it's fixed in cfX since I use it).
What version of JellyTime were you using when you had the issues ?

This. Almost all of the R series JT releases have been extremely stable. R15.1 was amazing. R16 was smoother, but it had a few more bugs added. I believe R17.1 may have fixed it, but I haven't used the ROM yet.
Also, have you checked md5 sums? I have never had an issue with a ROM itself having more bugs and issues than stated (Except for battery life on JB roms). If I do, I'll just rewipe and flash.
Working

I've tried the latest that at the moment was R16 and I had many problems.
Yesterday, as suggested, I installed R10.1 and so far I don't have problems.
I though that there's still a problem on the hotspot, but the issue is only on my IPod Touch...if I use the laptop as a user of the hotspot everything is fine.
Thanks Chrism.Bunner!

Running CM10 nightlies and am curious what the requirements are for it to become official?
Also, CM has OpenVPN - is this in the nightlies? If not will it be added?

I am not sure, but I know now that the GPS is not working. You have to lock with a different rom, then flash cm10 to get it to work. So I guess these things need to be fixed before it goes official
lol openvpn might be included when it becomes official.. cm9 never made it and cm10 is a ways awY and def wont have it until after we have jb source for our phones if ever

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, just ran into the GPS bug again...... :crying:
I'd run a stock ROM but I want to be able to set the permissions for each app. CM10 for our phones doesn't have this ability but you can run pdroid 2.0. Unless I'm misunderstanding CM10 is the only ROM pdroid 2.0 will work on.
Try the pacman ROM. The GPS is working fine on it

I was able to get a GPS lock in CM10 by simply deleting the file gps.conf in the folder /system/etc/ . I rebooted after deleting the file and was able to get a lock with about 15 meter accuracy within 30 seconds.
I'm trying to find Release Candidate 1 or 2 of Cyanogenmod 9 for the Lg Nitro HD (cm-9.0.0-RC1-p930.zip or cm-9.0.0-RC2-p930.zip). They are last versions of Cyanogenmod 9 that work with bluetooth keyboards, and this device drains battery quickly so the newer versions of Cyanogenmod aren't for me yet. Does anyone have or know where to get these files?

Do you still have the ZIP of RC1 or RC2? It would help me out if you uploaded it to Google Docs or someplace so I could get it. I don't need any of the newer stuff in Jelly Bean, and I used RC1 for close to a whole year before my previous device got damaged, it is actually quite stable.
Goo.im just has Cyanogenmod 10 Release Candidates.

They do have the last two or three nightlies which were based on the final release just some minor bug fixes. Look here: http://www.goo.im/devs/cm/p930/nightly
Go with the 09042012 nightly, it includes the bug fixes since cm9.1 and rc2 and amounts to the final release of cm9. This IS the most reliable and stable Cyanogen rom period.

I guess I should try building the "ics-release" branch(?) of Cyanogenmod from Github and see if that works.
