wildfire s no update 2.3.5 - HTC Wildfire S

hello my sister is using a wildfire s but no update yet i try every day settings/about phone/softwere update/ check but nou update.. why?? can someone help me,what's the problem??

There is no problem, it might be slow. Why not just install the update yourself? Download the official RUU update here. Connect the phone to your computer via USB and run the .exe file. It is the right file. If you don't believe me, take a look at this thread.

ok,but i have a question will it erase all my files when i install the update manually

Yes. It will wipe your phone completely clean. Make a backup of all your stuff first.

Mine isn't showing it to...thought it was just me
HTC Wildfire S (VM) "s-off" "rooted" Stock Rom

Not sure what you mean. What isn't showing up?

When you go to soft ware update the 2.3.5 isn't there
HTC Wildfire S (VM) "s-off" "rooted" Stock Rom

Two things...
Marvelc = A510c (in US) have not gotten a 2.3.5 update [that I'm aware of anyway]
Once you are s-off, you can't install OTA updates.

what means s-off -> sense of or what and i never done this why is by my wildfire s no update

s-off means your bootloader is unlocked and you can root the device. If you can't get the OTA update, I have linked both the 2.3.5 RUU official update and the thread with information on how to update it.

Ok thank uyou!
HTC Wildfire S (VM) "s-off" "rooted" Stock Rom

So once We are rooted we can't update over the air ? but in that case will there be custom roms of the released ota roms for us that are S-Off and rooted ?

I think you can but I don't think there is even a 2.3.5 out yet?
HTC Wildfire S (VM) "s-off" "rooted" Stock Rom

There is a 2.3.5 out. Again guys, check the first page. I linked both the 2.3.5 RUU update and a thread with info on it. And yes, once you unlock the device, you can install custom roms.

HEY GUYS.

WHAT TO DO HOW TO GET OTA UPDATE...??
HEEEEELLLLPPPPP ....!!!!

I dont think official updates are available for a device having Radio S-Off . If you really want the updates, i am guessing you have to go back all the way to stock, S-On. Search this forum for how to do that.
Just as an opinion, instead of going for stock and updates, just use custom roms. Theya are way wayyy better..
the only thing that you need its a WEE OFICIAL RU froyo for obtain the update via OTA, (also you can update your phone from htc sync via usb) its not neccesary do s on or unroot phone

So I'm trying to S-OFFed my HTC with the Alpharev 1.8 and now I wait for 2 hours and my device it's still on "Flashing new bootblock : OK" and the pc is on "Waiting for flashing complete..."
what I have to do?

if it doesnt work try revolutionary
..and for alpharev, you must have a rooted stock froyo 2.2, so if you flashed a non stock rom, it probably wont work.

you don't actually need to be rooted, I've done the process (more than once) straight after using a RUU (and reverting to S-ON), as revo gains temproot and then is able to S-OFF
In fact, I start from the latest Leedroid HD.
I've redo the S-OFF with the Revolutionary beta app for windows and working very well.

choosing the correct RUU for my device

Good morning Developers and community
As i'm completely new to HTC devices, flashing, rooting, and so on ... i've got a short question for you all
Actually i'm on an Austrian (A1) branded and simlocked HTC Desire HD with a Vodafone_fr branding (yes the provider uses that *** branding)
Android Version: 2.3.3
HTC Sense: 2.1
Baseband: 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
Kernel: 2.6.35.10-gd2564fb
Build: 2.50.163.3 CL123205 release-keys
Software: 2.50.163.3
As i want to get rid of al these annoying pre-installed trial apps and as i want to recieve OTA updates in time and not when the provider is ready to send them (if they do ...) i decided to root the device by using the
new aahk tool to try to get 2.3.4 or higher for my DHD somehow
This aahk worked perfect for my device, no problems at all and i could get rid of all these apps, freeing some memory in my device
As this tool roots, Radio s-off, sets super cid, removes the simlock on this phone
i'm currently not able to get ota updates from anywhere (if i got that right from all the threads i read)
Now i was thinking about flashing the device with a htc rom and found this one on shipped-roms:
RUU_Ace_Gingerbread_S_HTC_WWE_2.50.405.2_Radio_12.54.60.25_26.09.04.11_M2_release_199042_signed.exe
The questions i have to you all are:
- is this the correct RUU for my device
- if i flash the device with an RUU, i'm i able to get OTA updates or do i have to set it to Radio S-ON manually again.
- if so - how ?
- is the simlock still removed with an RUU flash ?
i don't care if i have root access or not as i only want to have a clean installation without any provider c**p on my device
Thank you all in advance for your answers
Greetings from Austria

- yes 2.50.405.2 is the latest official RUU
- You don't need to be S-ON to get OTA
- This RUU doesn't contain anything for Simlock (as it is operator specific)
Have you flashed a custom recovery like 4EXT or CMW? If not then flashing it will help you to flash between different custom ROMs..

Wow thank you so much for your quick reply!
Hm good question. I just used the aahk tool to get rid of the sim lock and to get root access.
I did not install any rom so far.
The tool also set a SuperCID. Don't know if i matters or not.
According to the tool, the clockworkmod is installed and i can see it in the bootloader and i already did a backup of my rom to the SD card.
(go to recovery -> ClockworkMod v5.0.2.0)
But will the CWM still remain after the RUU flash !?
Thought, that it will be overwritten and the phone un-rooted
thx again !
Good news, if u already have clockwork recovery installed than no need to flash the ruu as it will overwrite recovery. You can either try my GB Sense 3.0 or i can give u an optimized / rooted 2.50.x build if u want

Trying to summarize:
- OTA does not work with both of them if i got it right
- if I flash with 2.50.x RUU build from HTC i can re-root this build again using the aahk tool (should work with 2.50) and i have an unbranded rootet DHD without any provider apps again.
- if I take your optimized build i don't need to re-root it (what's the "optimized" part in your build? )
- if I take GB Sense 3.0 then I have a "brand new" rooted? DHD and I can go back to the rom i currently have.
any recommendations?
If u flash 2.50 via ruu it'll remove custom recovery & rooting. U'll still get OTA with it.
If u flash a pre-rooted / optimized 2.50 build, ur custom recovery will remain & u'll get OTA..
If u flash GB Sense 3.0 since it is a leaked version so i don't think any chances of OTA, however u can flash any rom u want..

[Q] Can I upgrade to 2.3.5 if my phone is rooted

I have a rooted (S-On) wildfire S with CWM recovery installed. It is currently running on stock Rom 2.3.3 and I want to upgrade it to 2.3.5 OTA....
Phone is NOT network dependent or network locked..
Will OTA upgrading damage my phone ???

Sadly, no. Once it's rooted upgrades become your own responsibility. If you're lucky, you could find a flashable file of the stock update online somewhere, but I'd just Flash the WildChild ROM if I was you, for a few reasons.
1. Based on Stock, all the features you want are there. Nothing is missing or broken.
2. It is based on Android 2.3.5 so flashing it will upgrade your Android version.
3. It's themed and arguably more attractive than Stock Sense 2.1 :good:

What you have to do is Simple. You need to give up root for like an hour. Backup all your apps, messages, etc.
Check the upgrade to 2.3.5 link in my signature. Follow the method in my tutorial and you'll have 2.3.5, unlockable and rootable.
For the RUU part, choose the latest one depending on your region, not necessarily the one I've linked.
Good luck.

Maximus HD ROM hang on boot (HTC Logo)...

Ok so I wanted an RUU ROM unbranded and stock for my Mrs HTC One X (Which is T-Mobile locked), but due to CID, S-ON etc I could not flash it... The I was told that T-Mobile nt bothered to make a JB 4.2.2 S5 OTA ROM Updated, and was told to use the Maximus HD custom ROM, I went ahead and downloaded the ROM, the Kernel, flash the Kernel and installed the ROM via custom recovery, but the phone now hangs on the HTC logo at boot... probably because the phone nt S-OFF, which ,according to the developer, is needed to install the ROM, so why was I advised to install this ROM as I mentioned that I can't seem to be able to S-OFF the phone?? and why was I told that the HTC One X can't be S-OFF, yet the developer of the Maximus HD seems to state that this ROM is good for the HTC One X, but the phone needs to be S-OFF? so can this phone be S-OFF?? and is this the reason why the ROM hangs at boot (HTC logo)??
I WAS TOLD NOT TO BE CONFUSED, BUT I AM !!! AND I AM AN IT ENGINEER !!! LOL!!
