It's in the market in the Verizon section, but it's $2.99/mo to use it. Personally, I'd just sign up for Google Voice or YouMail. No charge. (I use GV, myself).
I thought Google Voice voicemails were supposed to show inline with the Missed Calls. Is this not the case anymore?

Gvoice still needs the update
You have to download the correct VZW VVM app (there are two):

Gahhh!!! This is killing me! I switched from AT&T to VZW and actually having to dial in and check VM SUCKS! It feels so f'n dated!
Any word/idea on when Google Visual VM will be ready for the Nexus?
Thanks!

I'm using Google Voice with no issues whatsoever on the Nexus. What exactly isn't working?
I'm also using Google Voice with my Nexus and visual voicemail is working great. Transcriptions seem to be broken, but everything else is fine. Even works with Lightflow.

Have the latest Nexus. Unable to add "Facebook" as contact account. I select Facebook after "add account" and it doesn't seem to add them in.
It's not allowed on ICS. I used FriendCaster and this worked perfectly! The only annoying thing is the low resolution of photos... But that's not a Friendcaster's problem...
Haxsync in the market.

With HaxSync, do you have the option to only sync with your existing contacts?
With Friendcaster, you can only sync all contacts, so all of your Facebook friends show up in your contacts.
I bought HaxSync and can say it blows. It often doesn't pair up phone contacts with Facebook contacts. This means having doubles.
Android 2.0.3 will resolve this issue and I would suggest waiting a few weeks

back up your original apk's before doing this manual mod. read comments, someone's phone got borked.
Borked is now a meme!
Can anyone confirm if 4.03 fixes this?
This is a pretty big omission. Wasnt social network updates in the people app was one of the major features announced with ics?
why not get an aftermarket rom that supports this???
Option B.. Friendcaster... IMO this is the best option.... i dont see a problem with my contacts.. i have 1324 fb friends.. all you gotta do is go to People.. Accounts... and just remove friendcaster from your contacts to be displayed and wallaaa.. you dont have a crapload of contacts in your list..
SyncMyPix > Haxsync
So there's SyncMyPix, HaxSync, and Friendcaster.
Which ones sync with existing contacts well so people don't get their huge facebook friend list in their contacts?
Which ones are able to deal with slight name changes for matching contacts and/or with/without middle name?
Which ones sync Hi Res pictures? (when I researched this a little while back, only HaxSync did this)

hands down the best solution at this point.
Another option is this
http://heartofangel.com/google-contact-sync/
you run it on your desktop and it syncs facebook contacts to Gmail.

This is by far the best way, Thank You very much.
Using this method you can correct and manually(quickly) link accounts with different names and dont need bloatware on your phone.

I am extremely frustrated that Google didn't improve this for ICS.
In my business we forward contacts to each other on a daily basis. Get new clients and have to share them with employees.
Anyways before the easiest way, was to text them. So let's says Mike needs Joe #, I would open text message to send Mike and click menu, and there should be an option to add contact, you scroll through your contacts list for Joe, click it and then it would attach to the text and be forwarded.
That was standard fair on my last five Android phones. But in ICS that option is not there. And here's the kicker, go into contact list of people, I thought OK we can forward from here. Nope. I click a contact name and the menu button and yes it does allow forwarding, but not to text only by Bluetooth and email.
Sire I know GO SMS does thus, but I like my ROM running pure stock no add ons.

This is something I would like to know aswell - I have just either been emailing or copy/pasting the phone number which is not ideal.
I have had it on all my other phones and never realised how much I would miss a small feature like this
personally i use barcode scanner to share contacts. It generates a QR code which then the other person can scan and add it to their contacts.
you are right about messaging being gone for sharing. very strange that they removed that.
Open your people app
Select the contact of choice and open it
Hit the setting button in the upper right hand of the screen and select share
Than you can email or text to someone else
Please hit the thanks button if I helped.

Nevermind I just looked again and see that there was no text option now on ICS... sorry

Nope. You can not text. Only share by Bluetooth or email.

I'm running Bigexie's Jelly Bean rom and I'm having trouble finding where Play Music is storing it's offline music. I used to be able to find it under Android/Data/com.google.android.music but now this folder is empty, even though I have music set as offline. I thought at first that my music wasn't actually being downloaded, but after it says it's done making the songs available offline I have less storage space on the phone, and when I check the "on device only" option my selected music is shown. The music must be cached in different location in Jelly Bean, but I can't seem to find it. This is causing problems with apps like doubleTwist and Offline Music Importer as they can't find the music either.
Does anyone know where Play Music is storing it's music now?
Same here
Yeah, I found the same problem. Trying to get to the bottom of it atm... I'll follow up if I find anything
---------- Post added at 10:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:28 PM ----------
Yep, ok - found it all.
Looks like it stores it directly in the app cache now.
If you something like Root Explorer you can find it under:
/data/data/com.google.android.music/cache/music/
Not sure how useful that is to you.

Thanks. Yeah, I guess knowing where the music is stored doesn't help if the apps don't know to look there. At least my curiosity has been quenched.
hy!
After new google maps update I can't open adress stored in any contact. When I tap on address nothing happened?
anione know the fix
tnx
Same here, and location history doesn´t work either..
Same here on the HTC One S. I believe it's since the latest Google Maps update. In my case it came up with a pre-installed navigation app instead of Google Maps that started normally. Disabling the pre-installed navigation app results in no navigatuin/map popping up at all.

Temporary work-around from droidforums.net:
Open contacts, scroll down to the person , Do NOT open their info. Just click on their picture, or icon, from the main contacts list. It will open up options to call, send email, open maps, and a few other things.

The issue is fixed after installing the Google Maps update of 2013-08-16.
I'm currently using Contacts+ as my SMS app, I like using one app for my dialer/contacts/texting. The number of texts on my phone are getting out of hand. I see on Hangouts there is a way to check a button to reduce the number of texts if needed. I know there used to be apps that worked in ICS to delete old text messages.
How are you guys doing it now? I can't be the only one.
I'm currently running DigitalHigh's Rom on my verizon device.
Thank you,
Z
I use the google messaginer for sms
I would be asking the app makers about that?
Or surely just go into the stock messaging app and delete them?
I know 8sms can delete them anyway, as well as every other app I've ever seen.
Unless I'm misunderstanding your issue? ?
---------- Post added at 04:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:19 PM ----------
Oh, auto delete? Yeah... Many apps have that option, if yours doesn't... Again, app developer would need to add that feature or explain how.
---------- Post added at 04:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:22 PM ----------
Yes, 8sms has that feature.
---------- Post added at 04:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:22 PM ----------
Stock Sense does too.
Even though your using another app.... Have you tried limiting the number in Stock messaging app... It may still work, even if you're using another app.
I'm using an GPE version of Lollipop so the only native app is Hangouts and Google Messenger. Messenger does not have a delete function and Hangouts just has a function if too much space is being used.
I reached out to the the developer and they said use the native messenger to delete, I emailed back showing screenshots of not having that feature. Hopefully they can put it on their to-do list.
