I configured my corporate account, all went smoothly, but the email app just sits with 2 spinning circles in each pane. I actually wiped and tried again with the same issue. I have this account running on 4-5 other devices with no issues, and I have countless other android users on our server as well... What could this be?

Alright, I used gmail, but I also have an old SBC Global account that I still keep up with on my phone through the mail program. When I initially set the account up on the phone, it will download all the email at that time, but through-out the day I am not receiving any new email. I know that I'm receiving email because when I get on my PC and check my email, I have tons waiting for me. I'm not sure why my phone isn't syncing them. I have hit the refresh button over and over and the little circle arrow turns and then stops with the time on the side like it checked for mail, but I'm not getting anything. Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks
Give us some more details, like what ROM you're using.
Can you send messages from the SBC account?
Does the SBC account use Yahoo? (Back when I had SBC, they did, and from what I know, Yahoo doesn't play well with anything except their own ad-laden website.)
saw this on a phone at the store...I cleared the email data from manage app settings, deleted acct and set up again using yahoo smtp and pop servers and everything went smoothly. saw him three weeks later and he was still up and running. hope that helps

I'm using myn 's warm Rom which has never given me trouble before. Upon initial setup everything will down load correctly, but when it syncs later I get nothing. I know that it uses an android.IMAP setting, maybe switching to pop3 is the only way. It's just weird that its all of a sudden now. Maybe yahoo changed stuff on theory end.

Just saw a disturbing post and I wanted to get some confirmation from those who own the phone.
I saw in a comment on a review of this phone that it doesn't support Ms exchange for email or calendar. I absolutely news push email and calendar for my business. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?

I am using MS exchange on my SGSII with no issues. Not sure where you read that, but it is totally false. Push email, calendar and contacts all work with exchange.
Thanks. Awesome news

No issues on my side. This phone activates exchange the same way my last 4 android phones have. No issues at all as far as the phone side goes. Also if you have root you can replace the TW email.apk with the stock Gingerbread one. I did this just because I like the aosp email better.

The builtin mail app works fine with my exchange server. I use Touchdown because I like the interface better though...
One thing that you might not be aware of if you're using Exchange 2010 for your mail server is that there is a limit to the number of devices you can connect to an account. You can manage connected devices in OWA so login there and delete any old devices...
One other thing that my exchange server does when I connect the phone to it is to push security settings to my phone. A popup appears on the phone that I have to accept in order to sync mail. If I don't, I don't get anything...
Finally, you could try touchdown and if it works but the built in mail app doesn't then I'd recommend the purchase. It's still better than the improved built in version IMHO
Robin. Another quick question. Can you send and accept calendar invites for exchange from the native calendar apply? That's another big one for me. I am aware of touchdown and even own the license but I am a minimalist and if I don't have to install an app that's services are already present I wont. Thank you in advance.
My University contracts students email out to Microsoft. As a result I have a live account that I'm able to configure as an Exchange account. I never had an issue on older Android devices but something is hanging up after authentication.
I believe its after authentication because if I type my password wrong I get a login error. Otherwise it simply states that it can't connect to the server after the connection times out.
Just looking to see if anyone else has a similar issue. Its not a huge deal for me but would be nice to have. I'm going to file a ticket with our help desk. Took some screenshots so they know I'm configuring it all right and see my error messages.
My work email hosted on Exchange 2003 works just fine. The school email consistently times out on 3g, 4g, and wifi.

Considering the official Hotmail app doesn't support the Nexus it may be a compatibility issue that I need to wait out.
EDIT: Hotmail accounts configure just fine.

Does anyone with an Exchange account set up have blank email messages? I'm on Exchange 2010.
EDIT: Seems to be a temporary thing. It stopped after a few hours.

Mine are coming in just fine??? We are most likely running an older version of exchange though...
The company that I work for is using Exchange 2010. I don't have any problems with my emails.
Now it seems like it's a periodic thing, which leads me to believe it's a temporary issue with the exchange server. After a few hours, I'm not having the issue.
I'm getting this on an HTC Sensation running ICS on Sense 3.6, it is only xda-developers notifications that are blank though. Also running Exchange 2010, but reckon this is a sense 3.6 thing as it was fine on the previous ROMs.
Hi all. I am currently having sync issues with my hotmail on the stock mail app. Previously I had it setup on the actuall hotmail app available in the play store but have decided to go back to the stock app. Now, I set my account up, all setup is fine but when it syncs no emails show up.
I go into the settings and sync settings, it is all on push (even tested with manual on) and then hit sync and it says currently having issues and will be back up shortly. It's said this for the last 2 days. I checked the hotmail servers and they are running fine. Many people I know aren't having any issues.
I set up my email as pop3 and that worked fine but obviously no push. It was syncing perfectly when I was using the hotmail app.
I have a feeling something has gone wrong when I rooted the phone a couple weeks back because no one else seems to be having this issue, all other apps are syncing fine and it syncs fine with the hotmail app. When I first got the phone I was using the stock mail app and it was working fine that's the only reason I say something could've gone wrong in the root, I dunno.
Has anyone had this problem before or no of what this issue could be and how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Adam.
