Coming from a HTC Sensation here.. Was a bit worried with some of the initial previews and complaints, but damn I'm happy with my GN!
Major pros from my perspective:
- Absolutely stunning screen.
- ICS is the bomb. No need for a Sense-like skin to get a fantastic user experience.
- Pleased with battery life (ALOT better than my sensation)
- Software buttons IMHO are perfect. Not wasting space for HW buttons with basically less functionality. Have to admit tho that when I bad flash the framework I'm a bit crippled but this is a minor disadvantage imo.
- Awesome development already! Even tho ICS is in early release status.
- No crappy/broken & late sourcecode releases
Just a small cry of happiness. Nothing major in this topic. :d

Oh 2. Its fast as hell. Haven't seen any other phone other than an iPhone being this smooth.

Man when I got this phone I ran around my house screaming and yelling. Canceled all my appointments and conquered the couch.

Yeah, I got mine yesterday and it has been great. Light years faster than my old x10 and pretty stable considering that it is new software. Looking forward to see how ics will evolve.

Sweet!
I'm very happy with my GNex as well. Coming from a fascinate it's like having my phone but more solidly built, with 4G, and full google support. I'm really pretty impressed that verizion got 4G out here to my little town and got this phone for us. I'm way more impressed with all the good devs out there that are working on this phone.
I know it's going to be a run ride!
I just wanna say that I'm extremely pleased with my Verizon branded galaxy nexus, I know the battery life is crap, I know the launch was all screwed up, I know it has those vertical lines that everyone seems to Really notice, I know it has a two dollar plastic backing that They feels cheap, I see that it doesn't say Google on the back but verizon 4g lte, I realize that my update my come a week or two later after verizon approves it, I see that the camera is five megs and not eight like everyone else..... Tell me something I don't know.
I love this Phone. Best thus far. Its a benchmark device. No phone that I've seen has these very responsive buttons on the bottom. Love em!! Hey, they just work. Ain't that what they say about their product? Screen makes you wanna google something, don't it? Mostly everything is integrated into the software design of the phone. I understand the problems we are experiencing but cmon, no device is without this or that. Besides it will be fixed very shortly. Patience!! Best phone out. Benchmark Android.!!

I couldn't be happier with this phone. I don't see any vertical banding, the phone is very snappy and responsive (then again I had an OG droid and a droid eris). The only issue I have yet to have is maybe not so great LTE connectivity, but the guy at Verizon told me it wasn't too great in this area yet and should leave it in CDMA mode unless I am near philly. When I did get a 4g signal it was great, but not a full signal. I got downloads of 18mbps, 13 mbps, 10mbps and the lowest being 6mbps in no order and at different times and places. The camera take AMAZING pictures outside and with great light, however it becomes slow(blurry) and grainy in low light (this makes sense). The first brand new phone I bought was the first Storm blackberry that actually served me well until it killed itself. What I liked about the storm, or blackberries in general, is how the received email. Neither of my droids did this so well, I would get old mail notifications, it would double up on mail, and mail would come in late to the phone even if I had it to receive every 15mins or less. This phone, however, is great! I receive everything promptly.
In addition, I just got the extended battery... I know its not a lot but it helps. Also, as reported by other users, it makes the phone much nicer to feel in your hand. The added weight and curvature of the backing makes it fit really nice. Since I use the phone quite a bit, i was hoping the battery will help it last through the day (I am not expecting this phone to last me days) but so far it has been much better than my OG droid has been to me. The large screen may eat battery but its hard not to look at .
I am glad many other people seem to like it after listening to a lot of complaints that seem to be largely unfounded anecdotal evidence or from bloated demo phones in stores that probably have had 10 programs open all day at once. (I will agree though that the phone can get hot, but I don't think to the point that I couldn't hold it anymore... just sweaty palms.)
PSS: also, lag??? what lag?
I'm happy as well. However, I came from an OG Droid and almost anything is a step up from that.
I did mess with the Samsung Galaxy S II, Droid RAZR, and a few other high end phones, but the feel of the Galaxy Nexus takes the cake in my opinion.

really love your review. Hope I will be as happy with mine. I am coming from the D1, and I loved it a lot, rooted with GB. I got my GN yesterday, but waiting until Christmas to open it. Gift from the wife, and have to keep her happy. I am making her wait to open her new White, 64gig 3g iPad2
Question: have you got any updates yet? Have read of several problems, one being a bug in the signal strength, and something about the rocker volume.
How is your reception so far. I know that depends on a lot and if you even have 4g. I live in the Washington DC area, so pretty good 4g here. I will report back when I have spend time with my GN. Can't wait!!!
BTW, Verizon has pretty good reviews there. Thanks for sharing, and glad you love yours Thanks!
Add me to the pile of happy customers. I can't seem to put it down and that is what's killing my battery. If I use it under normal circumstances, I expect it will last long enough. I ordered a secondary battery to carry with me for a quick swap.
ICS is very refined in comparison to previous releases. Only feature I miss from HTC Sense is the ability to merge contacts from multiple places (Corporate Email, Facebook, Twitter) into one entry per person. Google Wallet rocks, if only it supported my credit cards.
Viva GNex!

For understanding the Signal Strength I recommend Anandtech's Investigation as a starting point. That being said, I have no complaints about signal strength but I did have an issue with the phone not routing data. It occurred on both Wifi and 4G. Had to reboot the phone to fix it. It showed a signal during the problem.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is amazing, but for those already coming from Android(like myself) it wont totally blow you away.
HD Super AMOLED is beautiful...but again...if you are already coming from AMOLED, it wont blow you away even if it is a higher resolution.
Dont ask me about internals, because I honestly dont know much about comparing one dual core from the other or one GPU from the other.
Building materials(plastic) are crap, but on the contrary, the phone still feels nice in the hand. Many complain about it being too big, but I dont feel that it is...and I even have small hands.
The screen on my first Galaxy Nexus(I had to get a replacement because of signal issues) scratched really easily, so buy a tough screen protector...Im going to get ghost armor in the next couple of days.
Software buttons at the bottom are nice, but for some reason my multitasking button lags.
Call quality thus far on my replacement has been good.
SMS/MMS/keyboard are great, however, today I discovered something new since its Christmas. I wanted to send a Merry Christmas SMS to all of my contacts, but stock ICS doesnt have the ability to select multiple people...all you can do is type in their name.
Lastly, the camera....well...it sucks, but the software is fun to play with.
Oh wait...battery life....to me it doesnt suck that bad for a smart phone, I used to have the Droid Incredible and the Droid Incredible 2...I would go from having a full charge at 745am and I would get home from school at 3pm and charge it...and it is exactly the same for my Nexus
Final thoughts:
The whole reason I bought the phone is because of Ice Cream Sandwich and the thought of consistent updates. Coming from someone who used to be extremely partial to HTC Sense, I can assure you that ICS is finally ready to be used without a skin...in fact that is why I left Sense, I love what it was, but I hate what it is/becoming...to me HTC is the Apple of Android OEMS. As far as other skins go, I see a potential future for TouchWiz for those that dont want the Galaxy Nexus. And Motorola, Ive never liked MotoBlur.
All in all, I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it to a friend, if they can cope with having a terrible camera. Just think of pure Android and updates straight from Google...you dont have to wait 6 months to get the next version of Android.
Camera does'nt suck if you know how to use it.. press and hold on the shutter button to let it focus, release to snap the pic.. after you have focust you can snap fast shots.

I'm not bothered by the plastic build quality at all. IMHO SE's android phone line feel way more plasticky in my hand than any samsung phone
I don't quite understand the build quality part, because, when I first held this phone in my hand I was shocked, really.
That's something no iPhone or Sensation, or any other phone could do, this one beat them all, and did it with more durable materials.
I'm a bit worried about screen scratches. I got my Nexus a few days ago and I treated it like a baby. I hate screen protectors, so is it really easily scratchable? Any more insights on this?

To everyone telling me that the camera doesn't suck...this is my personal review .yes I absolutely know how to use it right... but but my issue is that the pictures are better on my 2 year old Droid Incredible than they are on the Galaxy Nexus.

I agree with you it's not the best phone camera! My X10 still takes better shots in good light but the camera on GN does'nt suck, i'm totally satisfied with it, it's fast it takes good shots. My personal favorite setting atm is the partymode. Seems to produce most accuracy in sharpness and all the other benefits of this phone makes up for where more dedicated cameraphones lack. Ofcourse you are more then allowed to have your oppinion on any aspect of your phone, I will still defend the parts I disagree with
Edit: I changed my mind on camera setting might have just been lucky playing around with it a moment ago.. i was really waving it around in my livingroom and got great sharpness pic after pic but 2min ago it was the opposite.. still though, it IS capable! Cheers

I bought it from Best Buy and told them it had horrible signal and the battery overheated...and they exchanged it with no problem.
I would think it would be the same from the Verizon store too...and there shouldnt be extra fees unless you are exchanging it for a different phone such as the Droid RAZR
Hi guys. I'm anxiously waiting for my GS3 to arrive Monday morning in the mail. My questions for you guys who made the switch, was it a worth while switch? In my case I had to cough up an extra 130 dollars for the price difference between selling my Evo and buying a new GS3. The Evo is a great phone but I felt it had a bit of lack of Development support, I feel like all sense ROMs are all the same and they all ran its course with me. Lack of AOSP roms what is also a contributing factor.

How do the 3G speeds compare? My area isn't going to get LTE for awhile so 3G speeds are really important to me - possibly a deal breaker.

Quite frankly, I think Samsung has flipped flopped roles with HTC on this latest release of their two new superphones. Where as 2 years ago, HTC's Sense UI was a very fluid, intuitive experience that worked well with the OG Evo, the original version of Touch Wiz was gimmicky, buggy, and not polished. I think it's a bit of the opposite now, at least from a polish perspective.
HTC's Evo 4G LTE seems to be more about "neat" tricks, gadgets, and features, both within the hardware AND the software. Super slo-mo video and 2-way kickstand are two of the more prominent examples of this. Although Sense 4.0 has stayed true to its roots on the OG Evo, I feel like a lot of their new features and tricks seem to be "forced" or "squeezed in", just to try to make it a cooler device.
At this point I will take the opportunity to apologize to all of the resident ROM flashers and custom MOD users on this forum, noting that I can and will ONLY talk about these experiences from a stock load perspective because I work for Sprint, and don't condone nor pretend to even delve in to rooting and/or loading custom/baked ROM's.... ok... that's my disclaimer. Back to HTC vs. Sammy.
On the GS3, Samsung has developed a spectacular experience and interface, which is clearly focused on combining a very organic feel to a visually lush and beautiful experience. YES, I am impressed with the display. YES, I like shiny things. YES, explosions and other rauckus, Michael Bay-esque displays of pyrotechnics are what make me smile. BUT... I think Samsung has done this in a VERY elegant, intuitive, non-overbearing way. In the 3 days that I have used the SGS3, I feel like it's a true extension of what I want in a SMART PHONE. I like bells and whistles, but I don't want to force myself to look for ways to use them. I appreciate that the SGS3 is utilitarian in its practical design, but dilectable in its visual presentation and experience.
Don't get me wrong - I really like the super slo-mo, the kickstand, and other unique features on the LTEvo as well as the overall experience. Even after I got my SGS3, it took me 3 or 4 days to build up the courage to 'leave' the LTEvo... but I did... and now I'm seeing why I'm slowly becoming a Sammy-file. I think Sammy has done more to make their user-interface experience more fluid and natural.
Please note that this is only MY HUMBLE OPINION, and does not in ANY way reflect the ideas of my employer as a collective whole. I would also like to note that even if you already chose the LTEvo as your most recent super-phone, I don't think you chose wrong. It's a purely personal choice and experience. Most importantly, I thank you for CHOOSING Sprint, regardless of which device you decide to go with!

After typing this I realized I did a play-by-play of his review
Is the main complaint he has about this phone really a complaint? I mean he bought the phone knowing that there's no 4G LTE in his area, so how can it be a complaint if he knew this from the get-go? I bought this phone knowing that there isn't 4G LTE in my area so I, for one, don't complain about it.
I also like the build of the phone, I will agree though it does feel slick at times, like it will slip out of your hands like a wet soap bar! I too put a rubberized case on my phone to give it some more grip.
I agree with BWFBezerk, it's not a WiFI bug it's (ah hem, to say it like Apple).. it's a feature... this feature can be turned off without a problem, I disabled it on my phone...
12 to 15 hours battery life with heavy use, SWEET! I don't know what is considered heavy or light use, I use my phone about the whole time I'm at work from 8-5 and when I come home my battery is at 75%, I'm running Sonic FreeS3 0.1.1 and I must admit the battery life is insanely great.. I'm guessing his is stock ROM... I thought he said the battery life is definite "NO" not "GO" haha, my bad
SuperAMOLED is, in my opinion, the best screen ever... this is why I continue to get Samsung phones... from the Samsung Moment, to the Samsung Galaxy S II and now the Samsung Galaxy S III
As far as the speakers go, man I wish we had a front facing speaker for when viewing videos on the phone..
His case is sweet looking, my case has a kickstand on it too and it allows me to prop it up landscape and portrait
I'll have to agree with him, I really like the TouchWiz on this phone too... even thought I have a custom ROM on it, I only have that ROM on because it keeps the phone as stock as possible. One thing I didn't like about the stock TouchWiz though is the fact that the quicksetting automatically scrolled to the right.
Use the power button to get the recently used apps? Did he miss identify the button?
You know that 2 is more than 1, man I like this guy, he's doing a great review... I like how it's raw and uncut... real world as he says... no LINPack and all that...
I might have to hack my home button, I never use S-Voice anyway..
Direct Call is a definite GO!
Tap to Top, thanks for the explanation!
I can never get my screenshot to work swiping my palm from right to left, I can only get it to work from left to right... haha
I use Task Manager daily

He has all the iPhones, I don't know if he'll review the iPhone 5. He said it's still too small for him. He only reviews phones he buys himself. Nobody sending the phones to him to review or anything. Check out the review he did for the iPhone 4s. There's 3 parts to that video.
I like dude's review style......but there is no "wifi bug" that I'm aware of.

No before the setting was discovered, it was mentioned in XDA that it was a bug. I had the same bug too when I got the device, then the reason for being as found.

Indeed.
Besides, the Nexus 4 thread is actually spammed with people having problems with the phone, phone "breaks" randomly in their pocket, pics of broken Nexus 4s, etc

I gotta laugh at everyone that said the n4 blowwwwws the t989 out of the water in every way. Lol
First....go to the n4 forum and read the problems people are having.
Second ...a friend of mine got one...I played with it a bit. Severely unimpressed. Sure its speedy....but barely quicker than my t989. The display looks like crap compared to mine. And it simply seems fragile! Very!
I will hold on to my Hercules til it breaks or my contract ends and I feel like replacing it. Maybe. My phone does everything I want it too very well. So until phones will do my dishes and tune up my car....I'll maybe stick with what I got. Lol
As far as the n4 goes.....I doubt I'd even trade my phone for it. Actually ....no....I wouldn't.

I'm patiently waiting for shipping orders to finish. Then I'm selling this t989 and jumping ship back onto the Nexus. As far as what the guy up top said about development on the Nexus, clearly he's new to XDA. No phone has more dev support than the Nexus line does. In fact, much of your favorite AOSP roms were built and first released on Nexus devices. Not only that but Nexus devices always get Google's newest OS' first. The t989 doesn't even have full Jelly Bean GPU driver support.. you guys don't even know what project butter truly is yet.
Second, the t989s dual core s3/adreno 220 SoC cannot in anyway whatsoever compete with the quad s4 pro/adreno 320 SoC. You can clock this phone as high as you want and score 9000 on antutu and its still not enough to beat the 13,000 the s4 pro SoC averages.. and that's on stock builds.
Third, if you say the 720p IPS display isn't better than the 480p over saturated SAMOLED display on the t989, clearly you're either blind or couldn't tell a good display if one took a dump on your eyeballs. While blacks will never be as deep, color reproduction is much better on the Nexus 4. And if Voodoo follows suit like on the other Nexus devices, well be able to tweak and calibrate the screen to our will.
Battery life? Nexus 4 wins hands down. Build quality? The t989 looks like crap compared to the Nexus 4.
Working for T-Mobile, I've already played with about 4 Nexus 4s. They're beautiful devices. Super fast and smooth.
Now stop hating and come back to reality. This phone wasn't even better than the other GSIIs, let alone any flagship device released this year. We can all use the "my phone does everything well" excuse but frankly, so can my old single core Nexus S.
With that being said, you kids can continue making up all sorts of crazyness up in trying to justify your purchase over a brand new handset that's better in every conceivable way. It makes for some great comedy.

Don't take it so personal is all. No one was "crying" and some don't need the fastest phone on earth to be perfectly happy.
Seems the phone crowd has some min/maxers....which is fine ...their choice. I don't have a top of the line gaming computer either....my laptop "does what I want it to do" just fine. Just like my Hercules.
I will be keeping this phone for some time. I could buy an n4, or anything else for that matter, tomorrow .....but I feel no need to. That's me. Maybe not you.
Can't we all use whatever phone we want without the hate?

Take care dude....guess you'll be off to live in the n4 forums!

Well see, your opinion makes sense. I can dig that. Unfortunately that's not the OPs reasoning as he full out stated that the t989 is better. You can be happy with whatever device you want. You can't take that away from anyone. But facts are facts. And this device doesn't come anywhere close to a Nexus 4. That's all I'm saying.

As a former T989 owner and a current nexus 4 owner, this thread makes me laugh (and I was running AOKP jellybean on mine). Don't get me wrong, I loved my hercules and it is still a great phone, but let's be realistic here. The nexus 4 is hands down a better device in almost every way possible.
Screen
The display is far from "carp". Yes, if you are used to AMOLED displays (like the one on the T989), you will initially find the colors to be "washed out". But in reality, this is because AMOLED screens have grossly over-saturated and unrealistic colors. The blacks are not as deep as AMOLED but they are damn close (again this is due to the nature of IPS displays). Nexus 4 screen is much much sharper, the whites are actually white (and not blue like the one on the T989) and colors are more natural. There is a reason why most reviewers rate is as one of the best displays on any phone. IMO, there is no competition here.
Performance
Again, there is a big difference here (even with JB on the T989). Nexus 4 is smoother and snappier in general use. But heavy usage like gaming is where the biggest difference lies. As for benchmarks, the lower than expected scores are due to benchmark programs not being optimised for 4.2 (go see the difference between the new and old version of Antutu). And honestly, in reality, benchmarks don't mean s***. All I need to know is that this phone handles everything I throw at it without any hiccups and certainly much better than the T989. If you think that a two gen old dual core with 1 Gb ram preforms as a well as the current top end quad core with twice the ram, you are delusional.
Storage and battery
Storage is the only area where T989 has an advantage with its micro sd slot. If you are the type of person that needs to store all of your life on your phone then nexus 4 is not for you. Personally, I barely store anything on my phone (I had used up only about 4 gb of the internal space on my t989) as everything is on the cloud, so even the 8GB nexus 4 is more than enough. Again this is a personal thing so it's a disadvantage for some people but not others.
Battery life for me has been much better on the nexus 4 than on the t989. Obviously, everyone's usage is different so this will vary from person to person, but I'm extremely happy with mine.
Build quality
Here again, there is no competition. The nexus 4 has a much more solid build and has a very premium feel to it. My T989's plastic back started to creak like crazy just after a few days of owning it and it drove me crazy. I thought I was using a low-end entry level device rather than a premium product.
Yes the nexus has a glass back and yes glass cracks when you drop it...who knew huh? So if you are the type to drop your phone frequently, don't buy it or just get a case for it, end of story.
As for the problems being reported, very few newly released devices are without issues and this is a fact. T989 had it's fair share of problems, some of which have still not been fixed till this day (sticky power button anyone?). If you are someone who can't handle even a minor problem with your device, than a newly released phone is not for you (whether it be a nexus 4 or something else). And let's not forget that problems reported on online forums can be blown out of proportion. After all, only those who have issues are going to complain, while those without issues will probably remain silent. Personally, my nexus 4 is flawless, except for the slight static/buzzing problem from the earpiece reported by many people. However, this noise is very faint and inaudible during calls, so this is a non-issue for me. I'm confident that google will fix the issue and when they do, I will ask them to send me a replacement. After all, that's what the warranty is there for. In the mean time, I'm really enjoying owning this phone over my t989.
Oh and let's not forget about the pure android experience and the fact that you will get updates as soon as google releases them. Even if you are into modding, the nexus is the best phone for that as well as its modding community has always been the strongest out of any android phone. You guys really need to step back and look at things objectively here. As someone who has owned and lived with both phones, I can tell you that there is no competition between the two.
I was about to buy this amazing phone, when I remembered that it has a locked bootloader which means no CM10.1 which means im stuck with android 4.1. Then I researched a bit and found out that the Samsung Galaxy S4 is highly rumored to come out at CES 2013, which is probably gonna be running android 4.2 and be able to have CM10.1! So I guess this is goodbye!

I would honestly stay away from the Evo 4G LTE. I was a pre-order coming off an OG EVO. Sense 4 is way over aggressive on task killing and the stock mail apk would not translate html from my work exchange server , so I got lines of code. The phone also has very poor performance picking up lte signal. Deck's cm10 made the phone much better (Deck is the only saving grace in my opinion).
Sprint switched me into the S3 last week, and I picked up a lgog off Craigslist for cheap. I think both of these phones are superior to the Evo 4Gm lte . I do like the Evo 4G lte display though.

Personally after owning a 3D, idk how you could consider HTC again. I wanted to throw mine against a wall. I absolutely love the Optimus G and would highly recommend it to other people. The camera isn't as good as the Evo LTE or the GS3 but it's good enough for what I need. Performance is lightning quick, battery life is great, very high build quality, and the screen is gorgeous. And LG's UI is actually really nice, I like it much better than Sense.

My first smart phone was the Evo 4G. It was mind blowingly awesome. Like I literally loved everything about it, except for the top mounted power button that felt extremely cheap, and they continued that with the Evo 3D. Why HTC keeps thinking the top is the best place for the unlock/power button is beyond me...I'm so happy that it's on the side with the OG. I ended up with a 3D cause I shattered the screen on my 4G and they sent me one through insurance. After two years with HTC, I hate Sense and I'm just ready to move on. I'm not really brand biased, so I was open to LG. I had a LG Shine years back and I absolutely loved that phone. Even without a buzzing dev community it's still a great phone. I think you'll be very happy here though

Sounds like we had a similar update path. I went from the original Evo 4G to the Epic 4G Touch(which I sadly dropped in my soup at a sushi restaurant, phone still kind of works, btw, but the charging light won't turn off) and am now also on the Optimus G. With that being said, here's what you will miss:
1. The super saturated Super AMOLED Plus display. It will take time for your eyes and brain to adjust to normal color temperatures so don't let that put you off.
2. Samsung's Smart alarm. If you don't know what it is though, then you won't miss it, but it was a built in alarm function that would wake you gently to nature sounds. I missed it horribly...at first...until I downloaded Alarm Clock Xtreme and a $0.99 nature sounds album from Amazon.
3. Getting used to not having a microSD card slot.
4. Removable battery...not a huge deal since the Optimus G battery is much larger capacity, but I did have the stock battery on my Epic 4G Touch swell before I got the battery replaced, hopefully that won't be an issue with the Optimus "non-removable" battery.
5. Not going to lie, the camera on the Epic is better. With that being said, You may want to look into Camera ZoomFX for the time being as the Optimus has an issue with locking in autofocus, losing it and locking in again....even when you touch to focus. The aforementioned app doesn't appear to have that problem so it's believed to be a problem in LG's camera software, not necessarily the hardware.
With that being said, here's what you'll gain:
1. Quite possibly one of the best LCD displays out at the moment(excepting the Droid DNAs freakishly high pixel count). 720P movies look amazing on the Optimus G.
2. 50GB box.com account. Just download it from the play store directly from the phone and they will make 50 GB available to you for free. You can then download it on your Epic and use it to easily transfer files from one phone to another wirelessly as well as using it on your computer as well.
3. I never did the ICS update on my Epic as I was rooted, so maybe this wasn't an issue, but ICS no longer separates app storage partitions so the full amount of formatted memory on the phone is available to be used for app store.
4. 2 GB of ram(I guess in truth you're gaining one since the Epic had 1GB).
5. If you have an MHL adaptor for your Epic, rest assured knowing it will work with the Optimus G, unlike the GS3 and Note 2 where Samsung broke with traditional MHL compatibility forcing you to buy their overpriced MHL adaptor.
6. Working GPS. I dare you to download GPS test on the Epic and then the Optimus when you receive it and go outside and see how long they take to get a lock and how many satellites the phones are actually connecting to. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. My Epic would never connect to more than a handful at a time and had accuracy ranges measured in tens of yards. The Optimus G connects magnitudes faster and to more satellites with an average accuracy of 10 feet as far as I've observed.
7. Build quality to put Samsung to shame. Co-worker of mine got the GS3 about the same time I got my Optimus and for 14 days, he really had to convince himself he was ok with the subjectively chintzy feeling of the GS3 in comparison to the solid construction of the Optimus(he came from an original Evo as well so weight and solidity were what he was used to).
8. Less tangible, but the hope is that since this phone is a near clone of the Nexus 4, there should be plenty of development on it and since LG is in the Nexus program now, hopefully Jellybean will follow in short order.
9. Effective radios. I already mentioned GPS, but I've found wifi to be much stronger with this phone as is 3G(I won't compare 4G since they use different technologies). In one of the other posts someone posted the FCC measurements and this phone is right up there with the Motorola Photon(Moto usually seems to design some of the most effective radios out there so that's high praise).
10. Last but not least, his beast of a processor. The Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core with the Adreno 320 GPU.
