4.0.2 OTA update halted? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Sounds like it's halted....
"If you received an update notification a little while ago but the update isn't currently available for your phone, this is likely the result of Google pausing the update in your area while we monitor feedback. The Android 4.0 update is continuing to roll out around the world so your phone will receive another update notification when it's available again in your region"

That quote is from Google's Paul Wilcox, and was in reference to the Galaxy S, not the Galaxy Nexus.

Sorry for being the class idiot but I'm with o2 in the UK with a Galaxy Nexus.
Is "HSPA+" what I'm on?

You're on HSPA+ unless you have Verizon in the USA.

Just a guess, but I don't think the Sprint Galaxy Nexus will launch before this update is released on CDMA versions. It may launch with an older version, but I imagine the update window will be very close.

Verizon definitely doesn't care about syncing with Sprint in any fashion. That said, this is the first version of aosp that includes Sprint Galaxy Nexus support.

I wouldn't think Verizon would care. I would think the Nexus team is probably busy working on the CDMA/LTE version of both (as neither should be very different).
Maybe I'm wrong, though.
Here is the CDMA IMM76D 4.0.4 for VZW SGN (Toro) for those of you who can't wait.

I've no doubt. I just don't think you will see any waiting for release ota because of the Sprint Nexus though.

Google updates GNex not Samsung says Samsung..

When I contacted Samsung that when will the release 4.0.4 for Saudi arabian (yakjujp) GNex... they said " Please be advsied that although it is Samsung who made it, the Galaxy Nexus is a Google phone and thus its updates are not from Samsung but must come from Google itself."

Not to sound like a **** or anything, but the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit would easily allow you to unlock the bootloader and flash Google's stock factory image for 4.0.4. Much easier than waiting for it OTA...

Couldn't agree more on switching-to-yakju part. I don't like tookits.
A few fastboot commands and you're up running the latest yakju.
That...is kind of correct though....

Samsung are the ones to handle their own specific versions of ICS for the Galaxy Nexus.
Google manages in no way the various yakjuXX (where XX defines a region number) releases.

Why would you believe a tech rep to have any clue about this? Of course they are going to give out wrong info.
Its like the people who actually believe what a Verizon sales person says. They just work it as a job making $11 an hour in high school. How would they know anything or care.

So that leaves motorola or samsung again

Jelly bean coming to sprint galaxy nexus in Q3

http://www.mobilebloom.com/galaxy-nexus-4g-slated-for-jelly-bean-4-1-in-q3/2218368/
Questionable accuracy of the article as a whole. Samsung has already started that the Galaxy S line will not receive ICS, so what makes the author think that it will now receive JB? Also note that July is in quarter 3, which was the update for GSM Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, and the wifi Xoom. Author states nothing new and includes random misinformation. Really - the Galaxy Nexus 4G? Next he'll be writing things like "Nexus Prime". The link to a retailer page for the Sprint Nexus is not an indicator that Sprint is somehow the next Nexus due for JB. This guy probably works for Amazon and is trying to make some money.

And was patched in August, sadly because of carriers having to approve of updates, many have not seen the fix yet.
Try that link with your android browser and see if your dialer exposes your imei number, if it does nothing then we're ok
Anyway, I think its only for samsung devices running touchwhizzed

This is absolutely WRONG!
I've tested this bug today on 4 devices without TouchWiz, including a Galaxy Nexus with 4.0.4, and it WORKS!
The only safe device I saw was my Galaxy Nexus with 4.1.1 stock rom. All the rest were vulnerable! Be careful!
This is definitely going to have to be addressed, I'm surprised no one has caught it sooner

Then you should submit your results to Samsung. All of my phones bring up the dialer. That's not the issue. Only my SGS Vibrant on Android 4.0.3 brings up my IMEI as well from the stock browser. That's the issue.
Chrome is unaffected.
Just did it to my ns and gnex and I'm good

I don't see how the 4.1.2 discredit this article. Many times different carriers have slightly different numerical values attached to their updates for different reasons
