Anyone check this app? It recently got updated

Yea actually worthy of use now that he removed the on screen buttons.

I do have to say it is quite laggy though.

Definitely has some bugs to work out for sure
Sent from my Epic Galaxy S2

whatever you do don't try this on our phones, the lag is so bad the epic feels like a Samsung moment trying to run ICS for real. I actually lost my whole rom cause after a reboot it would not even allow me to get past the lock screen. Had to format system and reinstall fresh, then I tried it on a fresh install to see if it had just been a conflict with something else and once again I had to rinse and repeat... it may work well on other phones but does not play nice with E4GT.

Did u have it set to default before u rebooted? Cause I've noticed on this phone if you change launchers and then reboot without setting it to default the phone won't go past the lockscreen.

I was reading the thread for this launcher and it was a flame war. It scared me from trying it...lol. If some people report positive results then I may give it a shot

switched from Iphone 4 to galaxy s 3 and love it

Hey all,
I switched from Iphone 4 to galaxy s 3 and love it. I want to know if there's a way to delete apps that came with the phone ( all the ATT apps)?
also I have the Samsung SGH-I747, what's the difference from the I9300? I see that everywhere when I google samsung galaxy S 3 4.1.1 update? will that work with my phone?
I tried to root my device but it was giving me errors so I unrooted.
I'll definitely try that again soon.
What are good sites for info and "hacks" for this awesome phone?!
Any good App recommendations?
So far I'm impressed with the phone and love it!!!

Nice move! To remove apps, root the phone and you'll have that power. BUT.... this is the Sprint SPH-L710 forum, not the AT&T. Do not flash anything from here, go to the AT&T thread and read up on what is working over there.
Sorry, Should I move this thread? or will the Mod do it?

And to further answer your question no don't flash anything for the i9300 - that's the international version and doing so will brick your phone.

I too made the switch a couple of months ago. I've since rooted and installed CM10 nightlies and I'm loving it! This phone is such a refreshing change from the iPhone and I'm learning something new all the time.
If I can give some advice. You have a lot more power over the S3 than you did with the iPhone, even with Jailbreaking. Because of this you can really screw the device up if you don't do something correctly, just be sure to read and read and keep reading. Ask questions and then when your sure, read a bit more then take the plunge. Once you get a grasp of things the mystery goes away and it's no big deal but until you've rooted and installed a recovery, then ROM'ed your phone it will seem crazy.
Enjoy it.
Root your phone. Follow Mr Robinson's post under stickies. Then download titanium backup. You should have everything you need there.

i9300 = international version (quad core, 1gb ram)
i747 = att version (dual core, 2gb ram)
my favoruite apps are flipboard (pre-installed), jetpack joyride, granny smith, subway surf, and nova launcher atm. if you're a redditor, reddit sync is great as well.
for info and hacks, xda is the best.

Welcome to the flash crazy work of Android :silly:
The i9300 is the international version, and the i747 is the AT&T version. You want to make sure you DO NOT cross flash anything from the i9300 onto the i747 and vise versa, you will brick, and brick badly.
For Rooting I wrote this up a while back and should be useful:
Recovery mode:
Hold down Volume Up, Home and then the Power button
Download Mode:
Hold down Volume Down, Home and then power until “Warning!!” message is displayed
Press Volume Up to continue.
Navigating Clockwork Mod Recovery:
Use the Volume Up and Down arrow keys to change the highlighted option and the home key to select an option. The Back soft key works, but will not be lit and will take you back one screen.
1. Make sure all Samsung Drivers are installed.
2. Copy CMW_SuperUser_v3.07.zip to your internal SD
3. Reboot your phone into download mode
4. Go into the folder you extracted Odin3 into and run Odin3 v3.04.exe
5. Connect your phone to your computer via USB
6. Click on PDA and in the Open window that pops up navigate to clockworkmod.tar
- Verify that ONLY Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked
7. Click Start.
8. Power off your device and boot into Recovery mode
-To boot into Recovery mode: Hold down Volume Up, Home and then the Power button until you are in Recovery (it should say CWM-based Recovery at the top of the screen)
9. Install CMW_SuperUser_v3.07.zip
10. Reboot
11. Install BusyBox from Google Play Market, grant it SuperUser permissions and it'll walk through the rest.
12. Update Binaries.
- Open the SuperUser app
- Get into settings (the wrench icon in the upper right of the screen)
- Select Su binary under the General section towards the bottom of the list
- Select Update
To remove the bloatware from AT&T, you will need to root, and there are 3 ways that I use to remove that stuff. 1 is to buy Titanium Backup, and "freeze" the apps you don't want to use. They are still installed, but are not visible.
2nd way is to use Titanium Backup, and Backup and/or uninstall the apps. The 3rd way is to get a root explorer application(there are a few good free ones) and go to system/apps, and manually delete them yourself. The easiest way would be to freeze them in TiBu, and the safest. If you mess something up, you can always go back and Un-freeze the app
This SHOULD get you going
Hey! Welcome to the wonderful world of android. You are in for a lot of treats as I'm sure you've seen already. To answer your question about removing the. "bloatware" as we call it, there is one other way other than rooting you can get it off your app drawer and make it easier to ignore. Find the app you want to get rid of. Then press and hold on it until the home screens come up. Drag the icon down to the "app info" icon and drop it there. This will load up the info screen. From here, select the "disable" button and it will be removed from your app drawer. This is an easier way than rooting and it won't void your warranty either! Hope that helps.
Also, check out the amazon app store. It is pretty awesome. Free app every day. You can also customise your phone using zedge.

NVM I figured it out
I made the same switch
I am going on about 2 weeks now with the GS3. It is a big learning curve so far. As the stock GS3 with touchwiz I am not a fan. I do not like what samsung did to android at all. In particular all of the motion stuff is really stupid and the samsung messaging app is just terrible. I also don't like their default keyboard.
However I rooted it and installed CM10 and I really like that. I am a little torn as I dont know if I should judge this phone based on how it is in stock mode or for everything I can do with it (rooting, roms, etc....). Coming from the iphone I do miss the stability and ease of use. But I do like the bigger screen the LTE and being able to customize more, like what apps open with what actions and what not. All of the sharing options are nice too.
I would say if I was stuck with touchwiz I would probably return the phone and go with another iphone, but being able to use CM10 makes all the difference. I like both OS's and think each has their positives and drawbacks.
I am not trying to start a flame war just giving my opinion after a couple weeks of making the switch.

Agree, but I wish it wasn't required to enjoy the phone. sometimes you want something to just work. plus most of the ROM's have at least some issues that wouldnt be found in a release by a major company. Though touch wiz was just as buggy.

I made the jump from iPhone less than a month ago and have already tried atleast 7 diffrent roms...
Stock rom worked just fine for me all the time and I do find the motions useful...just disable them if you dont like them... I think like you that both have their pros and cons...but im finding much more pros for the Android than iOS...
Maybe there was something wrong with your phone from the get go...just saying consider taking it back to the store for a new one...cause I never had any bugs in touchwiz when I was running the stock rom...
Not trying to be rude, just giving my opinion...

I came from an iPhone 4 to a Galaxy SII (I777) last year, and now I just got the S3. I understand where your coming from where you like the ease of use of iOS and the stability, but to be honest I wasn't having any trouble or stability issues on the either of my phones with the stock ROM on Touchwiz. With that being said I still flashed a lot of other ROMs because I love tinkering and trying new stuff, I decided to stick with AOKP which is a CM10 AOSP based ROM and I couldn't be happier. I do miss some of the neat features with touchwiz though, like Smartstay and Direct-call.

Android 4.2 Issues on Galaxy Nexus

Hello Guys
Let's share the bugs that everyone experiencing with the new stock JOP40C Android 4.2 for Galaxy Nexus
I'll go first
I have a problem when in a call the phone keeps doing a weird vibration and once i done the call i find the phone on the homescreen and have to go to the notifications menu to hang up
the other issue is randomly force close for the launcher and some apps
the camera is very laggy when rotating from landscape to portrait
anybody experiencing those issues ?
Ok guys anybody experiencing random reboot on the stock android 4.2 Galaxy Nexus
You can star this for Google to fix : http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=39912
I am not. Also, and unrelated, I'd like to point out the redundancy of your title. Android 4.2 issues on, say android 4.0.4 would be revolutionary, but as you've directed this... Anyways, did you update ota, or flash the image manually? I've read of many issues from the image flashes prior to ota, that I haven't experienced at all since my ota on my drive home.
In stock browser in full screen mode i'm having a weird effect on loading bar on top, don't know if thats supposed to be like that or not.. just strange and sometimes the adress bar becomes bugged strange behavour
Yeah you might wanna reword that title...
Anyway, this update SUCKS!!!!!!! I was trying to be positive about it... Focusing on the cool new stuff... But then that shifted to at least neutral with the crappy changes.... But now this just sucks!!!!!!!!! I just got my first launcher FC EVER!!!! On my galaxy nexus.
No root, never flashed, been stock all the way on this phone just like any regular user. I used to root on my tmobile g2 but decided to keep my gnex all stock.
So what he hell!?!?! Force closing stock launcher!?!?!? Are you freaking kidding me?!? This update is turning into a total joke, its not funny google! Your pulling anAPPLE move on your most loyal customers(nexus customers!)
EDIT: this is a rant.. I was pissed at how badly 4.2 has screwed my phone up. But no i didnt mean the part about being as bad as apple..
I do think 4.2 sucks though. Especially compared to 4.1.2, in my experience they seemed to have sacrificed new features and "style" over stability with 4.2

"the camera is very laggy when rotating from landscape to portrait" --> Yes, this is extremely annoying.
And also I find that when the camera shot in landscape mode, about 10% of the upper and lower part of the viewfinder are cropped (i.e. the things you actually shot are more than what you saw in the camera app)
1). I don't have problem with phone call
2). Yes, launcher FCed! But only happened once after first reboot after flashing factory image.

No, just needed to rant
Plus the fc had just happened like 5min before i posted that. It was weird... I was browsing here on chrome, then pressed the home button and tried opening the launcher, and it got stuck loading for like 10sec... Then fc'd. Soo i tried again and it got stuck again and fc'd. Third time it finally worked.
I expect these things on rooted devices or custom launchers... But on stock its just sad, especially when it's never happened before the ota.

Flickering in Notification Bar
I have observed one strange thing on takju 4.2, If the notification window in already pulled down and and suddenly some new notification comes(like sms, email etc), all the notifcations start flickering wildly till I clear them all.
I am on stock no rooting nothing.
GNEX 4.2 default browser
Hi
Really hope someone can answer this for me, I've got a stock GNEX just got 4.2 by deleting my Google Services Framework cache and hitting update. Everything seems to be ok, but I still have the stock (blue icon) browser, I thought the default browser is chrome on 4.2. Also I don't seem to be able delete it, no biggie just annoying to have an app that I'm never going to use.
Anyway to remove it manually without rooting etc..
Many Thanks in advance to anyone that can answer this
Only issue I've noticed so far is the camera rotation is indeed very slow on my phone too.
Now, in 4.2, every notification makes my phone vibrate. This doesn't happen with earliers versions. I don't know if it is a "new feature", but I don't like it.

According to Google : Chrome is not part of the AOSP but for the new devices such as Nexus 4,7,10 it's the default browser but old devices like Galaxy Nexus i guess for now the default browser will be the Android Browser , who knows maybe with next major release of Android that will change
As for how to delete the default browser you need root privilege to delete the app apk from the system apps using something like Root Explorer
I had three soft reboots already since yesterday (at least that I noticed, maybe more while I wasn't looking). This is a clean install (flash_all.sh from the factory image).
To hell with it, I'm going back to my beloved CM10.

Android 4.2 IMPRESSIONS/THOUGHTS/REVIEW/OVERVIEW

After finally getting the update, I tried 4.2 for the first time. To be honest, I imagined 4.2 to be a needed update to the already amazing 4.1.2.
PERFORMANCE
Like some of the users have stated, there is a slight slow down in performance. After using 4.1, the drop in frame rates in 4.2 is more evident. Apps run slower, laggier, and less smooth. Not all apps though, just some. To name a few would be Apex Launcher, Lock Screen App, Whatsapp (only slightly) and a few others. This bugs me. Project Butter? I definitely do not feel that its faster now despite what people have said.
STABILITY
I don't know how many apps I couldn't run because they forced close. And I'm suspecting its due to this 4.2 update. So now I'm patiently waiting for the updates to hopefully solve the problem.
NEW FEATURES
- Lock screen
I really dislike the new lock screen. It just looks ugly to me. The fonts they used in 4.1 was already great. Why change it to this? Google Now has been placed down at the bottom now, making it slower to access it in my opinion. There were a few times where the phone couldn't detect my swipes - maybe it could just be my fault for not hitting the right place). The idea of having widgets on the lock screen is well...rather niche. There isn't even a lot of widgets that can be added on to the lock screen unless I have to reinstall all my apps that I installed before the update. The worst thing about is, it lags. Even on the lock screen.
- Quick settings menu
I don't really find this helpful. Here's why. I already have an app called 'Notification Toggle' that basically adds toggles in my notification bar. Its minimal, quick and fast. I have no problem with Google adding their own version. Its just that in doing that, they have gotten rid of the settings button at the main notification drawer (one finger pull for notifications). Their own toggles are alright. I'm OK with the look of it, but 5 toggles just isn't enough for me (the others are just shortcuts e.g. settings, profile, battery). Hope Google puts back their settings button like in 4.1 or just improve on their toggles.
- Photosphere
One of the main updates in 4.2. I do like the software and layout behind it. Its really well thought out and its definitely an improvement from 4.1.I can access things faster, capture pictures faster and do photosphere - which is googles new 360 panorama that is similar to Google maps Street View. It isn't exactly perfect but I'm guessing its also the users part to take a well-stitched photosphere.
- Keyboard
This is probably the part where I won't complain. This keyboard is the keyboard I've been waiting for. After using Sense 4's keyboard with 'Swype' gestures, I couldn't find any keyboard that could outmatch it. Everything was perfect for me with that keyboard. But now finally I can say that I have found a better one. Not only aesthetically but also functionally. I type faster and smarter now. Google has done a great job with the prediction engine. Almost 90% of the time I'll get the word I want. And even if I don't, the word will more than likely to appear next to the main predicted word. But I believe that the upcoming updates will improve on that.
CONCLUSION
And no, if you're wondering I'm no apple guy. I prefer Android over iOS. These tiny little things just tick me off sometimes. Especially when it comes to performance issues. Most probably either jumping back to 4.1 or flashing another ROM. I think the only thing I wanted from this update was the 'new' keyboard and probably photosphere. I could've just got it separately and not complain. But anyway, that's my thoughts on 4.2. Quite disappointed as you can tell. If you're thinking of updating, think again before you do.
UPDATE: Replaced lock screen with Widget Locker. One problem down. Weird, but it seems a tad faster now for some reason. Battery life is about the same or maybe a little worse.

I applied the OTA as soon as I was presented to it, and I have to say that something must have gone TERRIBLY wrong! I had an extremely fast and responsive device, now my gnex is really unusable. Slow, hanging, lags is not the proper word, we are talking about geological eras, here! Instead of going back to stock, I want to test some custom roms (I have to reinstall anyway, so what the heck... I will seize the occasion) and see what could have happened, but I am really desperate. I am trying to understand if I really have to go back to 4.1.2...
I did ota and dont have any sort of lag(camera orientation only), i have over a 100 apps installed and none of them have force closed or slowed down

I flashed takju 4.2 and everything is Better, my phone has only one issue: no december on peoples APP.. Even camera has Better features..OK there is no shortcut to see the pics...but man!!! Really!!! try a fresh start with stock 4.2

Yes, that is what I have to do.
I have resistances to doing a full reset because I have made a backup of the SD, but I am happier if my data stay where they are!
For the moment, I will experiment with a couple of ROMs, so I can wipe everything but the SD via recovery.
I'm mostly disappointed with 4.2. A few nice additions I guess: lock screen widgets though it's more or less personal preference, native swipe texting and photosphere. I also like the foundation for multi-users. In the future I think that will be a big thing.
But there are too many downsides. Performance lag compared to 4.1.2 (yes, even after clean install) and my issue with my cheek still pressing things despite the proximity sensor having shut off the screen (I've pressed random numbers and even managed to hang up on people during calls because of it). These are the major things bothering me.
I'll probably be downgrading to 4.1.2 in a few days.

I think the bugs are because something is wrong with the OTA update itself.
I did a takju factory image flash with a clean storage and no performance issues or bugs at all (Except december), but when a friend of mine did the OTA he got most of the bugs people complain about.
Advice: wipe your phone clean and flash the factory image or wait for 4.2.1
I'm quite happy with 4.2
The lock screen is the matter of preference, I like to have the access to the camera when using PIN or gesture lock. In the future I see having some news or weather widget there but definitely not gmail or messaging. I'd quickly regret that if my phone would get lost or stolen.
I love swype functionality. It's a nice blend between two keyboards and it doesn't lag.
Photosphere is big, with some patience you can get amazing results. Try using some kind of tripod for best results.
Gmail pinch to zoom is the long awaited update and works great but also thanks to scaling your emails you can now scroll between emails more easily.
There are parts where the device feels more laggy, less responsive (camera orientation, multi task list) but these will hopefully be fixed with the future updates. And knowing there is no December in people app Google is probably working full speed to bring that 4.2.1 to us

I installed the OTA, and it slowed the phone down. Then I wiped the device clean and flashed the 4.2 image, it was still the same. Google messed up with this one.
Nexus is the way I like it.

Try flashing a costum kernel, could help out a lot. I prefer Franco Kernel.

My only complain is the look of 4.2. The lock screen is ugly, the digital clock, bold hours makes no sense!

I was having the same issues, when I installed it, but now I flashed a ROM and they changed these things. Try it yourself!
One more thing: white is really white on 4.2

One annoying thing, that you haven't mentioned, is that I'm able to change the notification (calls, texts, etc) volume from the lock screen.
Edit: As soon as I get enough time, I'll downgrade to 4.1.2 again.

4.2 made for nexus 4 which is quadcore device,so is it feel any different in gnex with dualcore??
I feel no difference between the two performance/battery wise. No dramas with it or whatsoever. I see no reason why not to upgrade to 4.2 but that's just me

What can you do with a rooted galaxy s 3? And why should I root my galaxy s3

Upgrade Android without having to wait on whenever T-mobile decide to do it. Cool themes, over clock, and it's legit, and easy.

Rooting doesn't do anything magical, it just gives you super-user permissions. No, you don't get a cape with that.
Don't root it unless you have a reason. If you have a reason, go right on ahead as long as you understand the risks.
I only rooted my phone because I wanted to install Google Wallet. I'm rooting my TF101 because I want to try out non-stock ROMs for it.
Since I need TW's wifi calling, I'm happy with a launcher instead of a totally new ROM. I've used some apps that needed SU, but it wasn't really for anything 100% vital and I probably wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't for Google Wallet.
Don't have a reason, why bother ? Rooting doesn't do anything except get you root. It doesn't make the phone more awesomer.
The question should be "What can't you do with a rooted S3"

there are a lot of bugs when rooting. navigation doesnt work very well. sometimes not at all....you'll be stuck on searching for location for 10 mins before you decide to exit out. it has a huge homescreen wakeup issue. sometimes you need to press the home button 4 times to wake up the phone. battery life is a bit better
there is no reason to root unless you get bored of how your phone looks. ive flashed almost every rom and their basically the same.
to sum it all up......if you want themes, make your phone look cool. have the phone run not as smooth then go ahead and root it.
my suggestion is root your phone install a custom rom for a week to see how you like it. you can always unroot it and go back to stock
If you have to ask you probably should just stay stock. Root comes with a lot of responsibility.

ive been rooted since day one.. i have never seen a gps or lock screen issue... my gps locks within seconds and my home screen wakes up every time. only time ive seen an issue with the lock screen is when i was on cm 10.0 nightly. on that note like what every one else said root if you need it or want to try new roms or kernals. some apps require root but not many for everyday use.

I used to have serious gps issues with a lot of ROMs on my SG2, but haven't encountered any yet with my SG3. No lock screen issues, and but to answer the man's question. What can you do with root? Whatever the f***k you want! Lol. Seriously though do some research. I just rooted my first phone a few months ago and now it's like an obsession trying out new ROMs, themes, and trying all kinds of stuff. It definitely comes with its dangers though. You really gotta read carefully and tread lightly. Hard Bricking your shiny new super expensive toy be a tragedy. Luckily I've never experienced that but with plenty of soft bricks (more than I'd care to admit) under my belt I will say if your not too great at trouble shooting then really think about if it's for you. As far as technical knowledge, I had none really. Rooted my SG2 2 weeks after I got it, and it was the very first android phone I had even ever used. There have been plenty of nights too where I spent half the night trying to fix my soft bricks, lol. Overall though I'm super glad I did root. Opened up a whole new past time for me, and the technological knowledge I'm gaining is just another skill to add to my market value. Hope that big ramble helps I some way at least
if you root your phone it will grow into a tree once water is applied
lolz. Very good question. And the answer is?

I'm thinking about rooting my s3 as well. I mainly just want to extend my battery life and over lock my cpu. I'm still doing some research to see if I'm going to install a custom ROM or not.

I'm not going to lie, I like knowing that when my s3 is over clocked, its faster than everyone else's around me but truth is, under clocking to 1.2ghz the phone will still be speedy and as time goes on you can over clock to get good performance from non Samsung supported ROMs. I rooted because I like tweaking phones. And I like aosp. So I have a custom tw ROM and a aosp to satisfy my needs. Also having tweaks too like gwallet, sound mods, edit build.prop and other things.

Rooting does not impair any functions of the phone, nor does it cause hardware buttons to be unresponsive when pressed while the screen is off. The term "root" (when referring to Android) is perhaps the most misused term on the internet. Many people know exactly what root is, but few people correct someone when they misuse the term. This leads to a massive spread of misinformation that's impossible to stop.
Uninstall bloat!

Once you root your phone, you can back up all your apps as well as the data within the apps. If you need to factory reset your phone, then all your data is there. You can also:
1. Change your boot screen to please your taste.
2. Get Tethering going for free.
3. Add Google Wallet and pay for things just by swiping your phone onthe register (where available).
4. Change the way your Gallery/Camera looks.
5. Back up your entire ROM just the way you like it.
6. Tweak your phone's setting in more ways I could mention (Like changing the position/color of the clock, battery, and other icons.
7. Try different modems to see which one works best in your area.
8. Many other things Imay have forgotten.
You'll be able to use your phone the way its meant to be used.

[Q] Recent Apps lag

Is anyone else annoyed at the 2-3 second delay in showing recent apps that I experience from time to time. As a matter of fact it never opens very fast, at least 1-2 seconds. If so is there a fix our should I hope that when lollipop comes to the note 4 it will fix it.
There is a noticeable delay with mine as well.
Moved to Q&A.
This has happened to me but in every aspect of the phone. Rooted, no xposed, and only non-essential bloatware/update services uninstalled.
It is only for 1/2 a second or so, but the phone glitches like it is thinking hard then will complete the action. I even unrooted and reflashed my stock rom backup and still have it.
Probably going to return it today or tomorrow as my 14 day grace period ends. Pretty sad. I've tried just about everything to get it to stop and thought my stock rom would solve the problem, alas, no.
Still stock and not rooted (yet) and have the same annoying lag. Everything else is quick though.
It's the only issue i have with the phone, everything else has been great. I'm sure this will be addressed in a future update unless it's that way for a reason.

Same here. Hope they do something about it.
I've noticed mine is doing the same.. Is there a Task Manager app available that will allow you to see apps running in real time similar to that which comes with Windoze operating systems? In my opinion, this would help me see what is actually lagging when it does lag.
I found this from another thread here at XDA.. Am going to give it a shot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56320983&postcount=2
The link above is actually the fix for Xposed framework causing lag. Might help. Another help is turning off the animation which adds 1.5 seconds. Goto Settings/About phone/tap the build# several times until it declares you have developer options. Open developer options from the settings menu and find the animations and set to 0. Now the delay is down to one second even with Xposed framework. Solved.
One more thing, the build.prop may also need to be modified if running rooted stock. It took some googling and fixing but I finally got ADB working with the Starkissed kernel, ADB insecure and build.prop mods.
I don't have exposed installed and I have the lag as well. Watched and applied the fixes on this video and my Note 4 is way quicker! Totally amped!

Strange, have you always had the same lag or has it gotten worse? After those few changes mine is very responsive. I'm also not using TouchWiz, I'm using Nova Launcher. Wonder if that makes a difference.
Are you rooted? I've heard some strange things about lag after rooting which does not make me happy. This is probably the longest I've gone without rooting and I'm getting the itch

Most likely from people doing things and using files intended for different models and wondering why crap doesnt work right amd coming back to the sprint forums with odd problems...... Scratch that itch, root and follow the steps mentioned on Numerous posts for getting rid of the lag.

Thumbs up Starbuck!
this phone out of the box does not lag . Rooting has nothing to do with it. IT'S what you have done either before or after rooting. Check yourselves gentleman it's something you have done..

The lag is better but not as smooth as my Note 3 on cm11.
I am the first to admit personal fault, and I'd like to admit fault as to something I've done, but I have Odin flashed the stock rom and recovery back on the phone, and the issue is still apparent. Maybe the phone is not properly wiping data on a factory reset(also wiped everything in TWRP before using Odin to wipe the phone) causing a file to stick around regardless of Odin, but it is troubling and annoying to say the least.
Since I'm out of the 14 day period, here is hoping we get a developer to build a unified AOSP ROM in the near future.
