I noticed you get a 16 digit mc number with google wallet. I wanted to use that card number to purchase something online but it doesn't give you an expiration date or a cvc code. Does anyone know if this is possible.

Mine went from 18 something to 23 something.
For those of you with the extra 5, does it show anything in your transaction history?

Guys. Don't you ever check your email?
Hello,
As you may have experienced over the last few weeks, we temporarily disabled the feature to add the Google Prepaid Card back to your wallet if you previously removed the card or reset your wallet. We temporarily disabled this feature to ensure the security of our Wallet customers. We recognize this may have been an inconvenience for you, and we did not make this decision lightly.
We are happy to announce that you can now add the Google Prepaid Card back to your wallet with the newest version of Google Wallet, and any funds that you previously had on the card should be restored, unless you contacted Money Network and asked for a refund of those funds. To add the Google Prepaid Card back, you will first need to update your Google Wallet application to the most recent version.
To compensate you for any inconvenience this may have caused, we have credited an additional $5 (five US dollars) to your Google Prepaid Card. If you have further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at 855-492-5538.
Thank you for your continued support of Google Wallet, and we look forward to launching many new and exciting features for you to enjoy in the coming months.
Sincerely,
The Google Wallet Team

Yea I got that email tonight. Loaded up wallet and says I have $7 and change.
Although at the top it now says unsupported device. More info says they don't support rooted and unofficial roms.

I'm not a tin foil or anything but I've been using Wallet for a while now and enjoying it. I've topped up my Prepaid card several times without a hitch but today it's asking for my SSN. Anybody encounter this? I don't feel comfortable putting my SSN in.

I have no clue. :/ I've been searching around and most answers are that there is some new U.S. federal law that prepaid cards need social security card or something. Another one I saw was that once you cross the $100 mark in adding funds, they ask for SSN. I still don't feel okay with it. If it was the last 4 digits then I would do it. But the WHOLE NINE digits?
Is it asking through the app? I had to send in a copy of my id and a copy of a bill showing my address to the wallet Site. It was for security so they say.

Yes, through the app? Wow. They really asked you to do that? Damn.
Thread moved to Q&A
In the US there's some law now that says they must verify your identity to prevent money from being laundered and what not, but IIRC it's also illegal for someone (other than a government agency) to say you must give them your SSN. I wouldn't do it.
So I got the Google wallet app installed on my t989 using this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wFhy0O4hWc&feature=youtube_gdata_player by zedomax and it worked but.... I keep getting stuck on the "setting up wallet this will take up to 5 minutes" screen and can't get passed it I googled the problem and some people said to wipe data for the app or play store or revolt nothing has worked o tried like 10 times just seeing if I could get some help here thanks!!

From what I understand and this has been previously mentioned assuming you can get Google wallet installed and the app running you are still missing a critical part. Google wallet requires something called the "secure element" which our phones do not have built in. Further more T-Mobile is coming out with their own version called Isis and it requires a new sim card which has the secure element built in. It is all ready being beta tested in 2 states currently. T-Mobile has declared that this year will be the year of NFC so I can only assume that they will expand the usage of Isis. In conclusion until that happens or you get on the sprint network using either a gs3 or a nexus device you will not be able to use Google wallet. My suggestion acquire a nexus 7 and use that until it happens with Isis....good luck

Thanks that must be what is giving me the hang up that it can't find the secure element I have a nexus 7 but don't always carry it with me and wanted wallet on my phone but I guess I'll just wait

No worries, I have personally started carrying around my n7 so I can so that plus its nice to have around and don't forget that T-Mobile had stated that "this year they will make NFC happen......" Hopefully that means that they will bring on Isis.

Is there any way to get this through root or custom ROM?
AFAIK no. You need the special SIMs just so you can use ISIS. Google doesn't show much love outside of Nexus I don't think. I say give it a few months and we may get official ISIS. Until then Dollar Generals and Home Depots accept Pay Pal (card less and phone less). And Square Wallet is accepted at a few places (card less).
IMO NFC payments are like 3D movies and motionflow TVs. Novel but not widely accepted.

You are correct, Google wallet and Tmobile's isis requires a secure element to which is not installed on the gs2. Tmobile has it is live in Dallas of i am not mistaken but requires a special SIM card.

NFC payment systems are currently much more cumbersome than a basic credit card. I don't see them taking off.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I dunno about all that, recently I was at a 7-11 and I had my nexus 7 with me which has goggle wallet installed. I made the transaction with no issue, in fact it was really easy and I wish that their has pumps where like that so that way all I would need is my tablet which I have with me all the time anyways. The biggest headache is finding places that would accept that form of payment and not looking like a douche... For the most part unless the NFC payment does not support one of the major credit card vendors then it would pose an issue but I would assume that they do so it shouldn't be an issue

Hello guys
I got my P600UE with mail recently and looking for a way to somehow get the value of my promotion code transferred to EU. Is it even possible, maybe with a trade?
Well, google won't let u do that. I bought the p600 while on holiday in the US. The easiest thing to do is, create a new google account, with a US address, without any payment options. Add your gift card to that account and make the purchases. The device works perfectly well juggling with different google accounts.

How do you associate the account to an address?
