[Q] Market not displaying my list of installed apps. - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can search for apps, download them, search for an installed app and click on it to see it there's an update available. But when I select my apps from the market, I keep seeing this instead of my apps. Anybody know why this is?

Is no one else having this problem? Is this some type of Google censorship or what?

oh, it goes away. I just don't like individually updating apps. Or guessing if I have updates. But my main question is, as long as this isn't some Google censorship due to black market apps installed or something.

Just recently noticed, that my market was fine until I started adding multiple gmail accounts on to my phone. [Hmmm..]

Verify the download as the latest, download, and re-flash again.
Not sure about Chrometophone though.
MarketEnabler
If you don't feel like reflashing,
you can install apps restricted to certain zones (such as Chrome to phone) via the market using MarketEnabler

Fire it up, go to the "Settings list", long press on one of the listed providers, click "fake this provider now" and then you can install Chrome to phone (and other zone restricted apps) like you would do for any other app via the Market.

ALL apps force close?
Something seems thoroughly wrong with your install. At this point I'd consider a complete wipe & reinstall of your ROM.

[Q] Facebook Update 1.6.1

I know many people hate this app, but I am running the new Market and it says there is an update to Facebook but when I click on it I only have the options to open or uninstall the app. Anyone else having this issue?
I think you should try going back to the old market, wait for Google to put out the update automatically over the air.

Thanks for the Advice, but this was the only app that I have seen it do that on. All other aps have updated just fine. Also I bypassed it going to the Market via my web broswer and installing it that way.
That's a good idea... I prefer watiting for updates... That's just me though.

Its saying the same thing for me. But in the what's new area of the app it says version 1.6.0. Twitter is saying same thing about an Update

Android Market not showing all downloaded apps in "my apps" section??

I've had this issue with the Android Market 3.1.5 (and lower) - stock 2.3.4, no root.
Usually if I get a notification that I have an app update and click on it, it takes me to the my apps section however there are only the paid apps i've bought sitting there. Not the other 90 apps that I've downloaded free.
I go and clear data and that works sometimes. And other times it doesn't. I've submitted the problem to Google but I was wondering if others see this behavior and if there are any work arounds???? It's real frustrating.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the Market. Rebooted phone, pulled battery. Even done a factory reset. This happens on my E4GT and my Evo4G.

If you restored a backup chances are market links were restored and you will have to wait for an update or unstall and reinstall the app

I have the same issue, I prefer the older market version (wich does show all my apps, and shows the updates better also), but it wont allow me to keep it from updating for some reason, even if I freeze market updater.
it always upgrades to 3.15 after a few times going into market
this has been happening to me since I got the phone. I rooted and then went back to stock kernel, which kept me rooted. I restored my titanium backup apps with data and I believe that may have something to do with it.
as soon as I see that I have updates I know I will have to go to applications and clear data and reopen and it will then show me all of my apps again.
I talked with Google's Market help today. They know about this and are trying to figure it out.

No apps under "My Apps"

When I go under the "My Apps" section in the Market, there's nothing there (see picture).
I've tried clearing the Markets cache and data, downloading/installing a free app, completely removing the Market and reinstalling it, fixing permissions, and using the Market Doctor under Titanium. EDIT: Just tried flashing the new Markets .zip I found, didn't fix it either.
Market version is 3.3.11, the newest one.
Any suggestions/solutions would be greatly appreciated!

In a previous CM or other flash, was backup and restore apps from Google account checked?
How long has the ROM been installed?
Your apps should show up in time.
Is more than one Google account synced to the device?

-Yep
-4 days, but it was happening for at least a week on the nightly I had installed before this one.

Also, none of my apps are installed on my SD card. Figured I'd note that as well.

If you open the market and then search for a app you already have installed, does it state it is already installed and give the option to uninstall, or does it give the option to install?

It says it's installed, and when in the apps page on the Market, it has the uninstall option.

Sounds like your apps didnt get linked to the market correctly. I belive titanium backup has a feature to fix market links. There are probably other apps out there that do it as well.
Try this.
Go to manage applications and force stop market and clear data if the option is available. Then use a file explorer such as Root Explore and navigate to "/data/data/com.android.vending/shared_prefs/" and delete the file "vending_preferences.xml". Then go to "/data/data/com.android.vending/cache", and delete all files in the folder. Then reopen the market, accept the agreement and then go see if your installed apps show up in my apps.

I tried to do that, but after going into settings and clearing data, it leaves nothing in /data/data/com.android.vending except for the libs folder which I'm pretty sure I shouldn't delete lol.
Any other suggestions? :/

Any chance you use multiple gmail/google accounts on your phone? Market might have logged you in under an account that you have never downloaded anything with in the past.

yeah I had this problem and couldn't figure it out for a few hours, then I realized I added my school e-mail account and it was showing up in the market as the default account, I had to switch it in the menu in the market.
seems like the most likely problem.

Exact same issue here, apps do not show up under 'My Apps' in the android market. It really makes it difficult to figure out which apps need updating, as I have to check manually. They do show up as installed in the market, just not listed under 'My Apps' or as linked to my account. I have tried all the market link options in Titanium Backup, as well as clearing the market cache and other info, as well as uninstalling all the market updates. CM7

[Q] List play installed and side loaded app

Is there any way to generate a list of apps installed from the market and sideloaded apps?
Preferably a list that can be copied to a text file.
Thanks....

Thank you. But that only lists all the apps, not which are side loaded. Do you know of any way to do that?
I don't believe there is a way to tell if an app is side loaded unless you specifically remember or check the market for ones that don't receive updates.

How does Play Market know that the app has been side loaded? Can we use the same technique to determine an apps "sideloadedness" ourselves?
Thanks in advance...
It may not help, but Titanium Backup has a Market Link feature where I think you can create/restore or disable a market link for apps. I've never used this feature so im not real sure its what youre looking for, but maybe you can find a way to filter based on this?

Unfortunately Titanium Backup does not differentiate between the two or give you a way to filter on side loaded app.
Thanks...

A "sideloaded" app is an app that has been installed on the phone without it being downloaded with Android Play/Market. Most file explorers will do this.
The latest versions of Android Play/Market will not update an app that has been sideloaded. It only allows you to open or uninstall the them. While this makes sense for paid apps (they might be pirated) it does not make sense for free apps (such as apps purchased on Amazon or download from XDA).
I sideload many apps (some apps from XDA) and I am trying to make a text list of all of my installed apps and then denote which of the apps were loaded through Google Play/Market and which were sideloaded. Any free Android Play/Market available apps that I find that I have sideloaded I will uninstall and re-install using Android Play/Market so they will update appropriately.
That is why I am trying to do this.

I believe they are signed differently. A sideloaded app will NOT receive updates from the Play Store.
Sent from my SGH-T999
TB will show you which apps have market links, don't see a way to export it but if you email the whole list you could print it and cross them off or just load them into a spreadsheet... Not as quick but should be <10 mins.

Unfortunately I have used Titanium Backup Market Doctor to link everything to the Market so I dont' think that will work. If there is a way to get that information from Titanium Backup, please let me know how.
Thanks...
Market tools, market auto updates only shows me market apps and I've done the link repair thing too...
JKKKK no I didn't. I thought I had but I never ran it, whoops.
I fixed the links and ran autoupdater after selecting all, only market loaded apps showed up man so.....
