Can anyone tell me the results of The Acid3 Test and The HTML5 Test.
94 out of 100 for the acid3 test and 177 +1 bonus point out of 450 for the html5 test.
Links?...I'd be glad to share.
Same exact score as above using Dolphin Browser HD...

100 and 314+9 on firefox

Dolphin Browser HD:
94/100, 177 +1
Stock Browser:
94/100, 177 +1
Firefox Beta (v9.0):
100/100, 314 +9
I am thinking there is definitely a reason to install firefox on my phone now...
Opera Mobile gets 100/100 on acid and 285+9 on HTML5 test. Feels a lot smoother than Firefox too imo.
Have to agree, just anything/everything else is smoother than Firefox on Android.
I use FF at work and home, would love to use it on my Nitro too...But the thing runs like a dog with worms (draggin its' arse).

hi everybody!
i was thonkin abuot web browsin.

after i found some browsers for WM.
SKYFIRE v1.5, i dont like it,too slow in rendering.
DOROTHY BROWSER beta 0.2.2
not have multitab,nor flash support
OPERA 9.7 nothing impressed me...
IRIS BROWSER 1.19
fastest rendering i ever seen. someone say the webkot is the same of the iphone.
some videos on stream doesnt work.
OPERA 10
slower than iris,but good browser
MACH5WEB
i like it,its not free, video are played in a separated software.
but,no one il very impressive.
what d u think about?
thanx
up :-(.....
no one care about browsing?
I use Opera Mini most of the time... It's by far the fastest browser you can have!
Opera Mini 5 Beta 2 is already pretty nice, but for everyday use I use 4.2, which doesn't support multiple tabs.
When zooming out in the stock browser theres the overshooting animation which makes the browser seem very slow, especially in flash intensive sites, is there any way to remove it?

maybe opera mobile is a better choice, it's really fast
Opera doesn't support flash
Use Dolphin HD - it's great
I used it for the last 5 month and is handles well all flash related and zooming options.
It also has a few addons like bookmark to sd card and others.
That overshooting animation is a pain in the ass. Im at 1.2GHz, and the only time it isn't painfully laggy is on google.com.

review of dolphin hd
Performance
Dolphin HD may offer a good browsing experience, but it's a bit slower than other mobile browsers. To test the Dolphin HD's speed we loaded several websites heavy with images plus Java and/or Flash elements using the Motorola Droid X and a 3G connection.
The full version of Laptopmag.com took an average of 21.7 seconds to load; that time was the slowest of the lot, but not by much. Skyfire took 20.7 seconds, and the stock Android browser took 21.3 seconds. With NYTimes.com, Dolphin fared better, loading the page in an average of 15 seconds, fast enough to beat Skyfire (18.3 seconds) and a hair behind the stock browser (14.7 seconds). Regardless, Opera Mini loaded those two pages in 5.7 and 6.3 seconds, respectively.

have somebody found a solution about playing youtube videos in hq? or a hacked application? any sugestion? currently on cm 7 #210
is the software the real problem?
More like a 240x320 screen has even less pixels then a VCD. Good luck with that.
Well you are trying to move a huge log of wood using a goat, try elephant,
Or you may take a look at tubex app, no more in market, google it. But never expect some thing more than 640*480, with no gpu 528 mhz, 300+ mb ram, it will be a Trojan hunt.

Hi all,
You can find here the new Dolphin Browser (Beta), if you have miss it...
It's really fast !
INFO:
"Dolphin Engine (in Beta) is an improved webkit version with extensive canvas enhancement and behind-the-scenes technology that makes it the highest performing HTML5 browser available today. Dolphin Engine allows HTML5 rendering up to 5-10 times faster than the default browser on Android, and at times, 100 percent faster than Chrome."

I've seen it in Android apps and games forum. Most sites don't use HTML5, so the performance boost should be small. I've also seen fenec/firefox beta builds compiled with linaro. They also give a nice boost, would be nice if dolphin could be build with linaro, too.
So does it work well on sgs i9000.?
Do I need to uninstall market version dolphin browser first OR is it okay to install straight for best performance

I think it replaces it if you're already on market version, but it won't get faster than installing without market version. It's working, but sometimes pictures don't load.
Tried it and it was weak compared to opera (no smooth scrolling) + I find the ui more bloated than stock browser.
Works awesomely

I wanted to be able to view web pages on Note 2 just like I can on iPad. I downloaded Dolphin HD browser, tried changing User Agent to iPad / Nexus 7 /iPhone. I have been disappointed with overall experience. When I change the User Agent to Nexus 7, I can see full CNN page, but when I click on Videos, it says I need Adobe. I can run videos when using iPad UA, but the quality is mediocre. Is there a way to surf the internet like you can on iPad? View full websites and run videos?

if you need adobe flash player then install it? iphone doesn't have flash i'm pretty sure. so your overall experience will be 100 times better on android also, dolphin hd browser does NOT support flash. you'll need to use the mini dolphin or the stock browser to view things in flash. most sites still don't seem to support HTML5. i've seen very few. oh and jelly bean doesn't have official flash support, but it still works perfectly.
so google how to side-load flash player. if you don't know how. problem solved.

What I'm trying to get at is, if iPad/iPhone can convert and play that video in HTML5, why can't an Android device play it if I change user agent to that of an Android tablet. I don't want flash. Just want to be able to play videos from full-websites, not mobile sites.
A example of site were you have this problem?

CNN full site. Try running any video. It only renders videos in mobile version of the site, in full version it displays Flash installation message.

Just download adobe flash from adobe's own website and it'll work fine. I can confirm it works on my ipad 3 as html 5.

I did download flash and it is workable, lil choppy but I guess I will take it. Not as smooth as on the iPad.
Also, I went to a Staple store yesterday and checked out couple of Android tablets including Nexus 7 and ran into the same situation on all tablets. I went to CNN, it opened full page, but when I clicked on the video, it presented Adobe message. Download Dolphin, then it works in HTML5, but a little grainy. This is something that just works on the iPad natively in HTML5
I noticed that you mentioned that you use Dolphin browser. I've noticed that the performance of the Dolphin on the Note 2 is less than good IMO, especially compared to stock. I would recommend trying Boat Browser instead, and just run flash. It's much better that way.

Much better! And the browser is free, I will take it. Thanks. Boat Browser + Flash apk puts me in the ballpark where I don't have to reach out for my iPad. :good:
