Gmail not sending messages? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Anyone got any ideas? They just hang in the outbox and don't send.
I'm on mobile data. Anyone got any ideas?
They get received fine

Doesn't work on Wifi either :/

I noticed this problem the other day on my phone as well. It cleared up after I turned off wifi and rebooted and it seems to be working well now.

I've had this happen on different Android devices for me. Not sure the exact root cause, but clearing the application's data forces Gmail to resync. This has always resolved this issue for me in the past.
Hope that helps!

On the Galaxy Nexus go into Settings -> Apps -> All (tab) -> Gmail -> Clear Data.
If you wanna play it super safe, restart the phone, but probably just opening Gmail up will allow it to recognize its memory has been erased and trigger the re-sync process.
Welcome to Android!!
Hope that helps!

Happened to me also, clear data and reset the app.

I was having the same problem and this just cleared it up for me. Thank you so much

This worked for me (Galaxy SII - i9100), but note that all mail stuck in the outbox will be lost.

Gmail Problem

Gmail wont let me send any emails whatsoever they just sit in my outbox. I thought it was a problem with the miui rom but I guess its not since I flashed back to cm 6.1.1 and still can't send anything ,
Any clue on why I can't send anything? I can still receive email just can't send anything.

I have the same problem....
it stopped syncing my outbox yesterday..
I'm on dhd port baadnwz 1.7c
when I was on stock froyo, this problem would sometimes appear, then I would rebbot my phone and it would sync...
now, I tried restoring to an earlier state(same rom), tried wiping dalvik, nothing...
it just won't send any emails...when I send them from my computer, it works, it doesn't only on my phone
very annoying stuff, driving me crazy, anyone have an idea what is going on??
tnx
well, I think I solved it
I uninstalled and again installed the gmail app from the market and it seems that it is working...
I'm not 100% satisfied because it is not a permanent solution, probably it will get stuck again..
but then again, it is working again
cheers
I think that what generally works in this case is going into Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All
Choose Gmail, and then clear the cache. It will then re-sync gmail, and it should work.
You could also clear the data --- if clearing the cache doesn't work, but you would have to redo your gmail settings (e.g. Vibrate, ringtone, signature). Uninstall and install does this as well.

Browser sync & Datatransfer

Hey Guys,
I'm quite sure these questions have been asked before but I can't find it
1. My Browser doesn't want to sync. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
2. How can I transfer files to any specific location? (sms backup file for example) - SOLVED!
Thanks a lot!
Does no one have this problem?
Browser sync gives me an error too.

Good I'm not alone. Are you using the Chrome dev version?
i have a problem with browser sync as well, and i'm using Chrome Stable.

It doesn't work on the nexus s AOSP roms floating around either. I think it's broken, or not turned on yet.
Its not broken, i have it working on mine.
To get it to work. Clear the browser data on the device and uncheck sync browser. Then go onto google dashboard and there is an option to "Stop sync and delete data from Google" This will take a few minutes to complete.
When it has done, recheck sync browser on the nexus, and it should sync. This worked for me.
What worked for me is, to delete everything from the Google Dashboard and re synchronize everything.
I have Browser sync issues on my GT8.9 and GT10.1 tabs also, so this seems to be a general problem, not related to Galaxy Nexus.
Is there a way to sync the phone and chrome via BT/Wifi/USB or just anyway that I don't have to sync with the "cloud" first?
With a 3rd party app, yes. With the stock Cal, no.
I'm sorry.

Bump. Any help on this browser sync thing?
Yeah, I'm curious too. Chrome sync works fine for my desktop, laptop, and work pc, but haven't gotten it to work on ICS.

Yeah, but you didn't answer his question.
If we delete the sync data from google dashboard, do we loose all our bookmarks and passwords from our desktop PC's since they are all synced?
delete the data. then sync it back again via chrome. done.
might gonna do that for my 3 chrome installations
such a hassle w/ 2 step authentication.

Yes but my question was, won't that delete all my passwords and auto fill data etc?

no, all it does is remove your sync data off of Google servers, once its deleted and you activate sync on your phone you activate sync on your PC browser and all the data gets re-populated.

GMail Sending Issues?

Has anyone been having issues with their Gmail not sending emails?
I have tried to send emails but I keep getting the "sending..." notification in the email header.
The syncing icon in the taskbar just keeps spinning.
Ive tried to reboot the phone, etc.
Nothing.
I"m on Caulkin's ROM.
This is really frustrating as I use my phone for work as well and it delays my response times to important Clients.
Thanks!
Yeah experimented that a couple of weeks a go and dont know what of the 3 things I did was the one that worked:
1)Go to settings/Applications/Manage Applications in there go where the gmail app is (Downloaded or All) and clear the app data
2)If it have been updated in the market search for it in your apps in the market app ...uninstall it and reinstall
3)The last option is to use Root Explorer to go to system/apps delete the gmail app there and from other source paste another copy of the gmail app
Hope it works

I had the same issue on a stock rom (rooted). Turned out it was an app called Seal that was the culprit.
I learned that whenever I restore a backup, I have the clear data in Gmail or I get the same issue.
Not sure if it's the same cause for yours but clear data and send a test email. Pm me after, I'm interested to see if this works

Yup.
That's exactly what did it for me.
I went from UnNamed over to Caulkins last week and did a Titianium restore of my app+data.
Cleared the data in Applications>Gmail. That did the trick.

Gmail is not syncing

Hey guys. For some reason my Gmail doesn't want to sync these days. I have uninstalled and re installed the app several times....cleared out data under "applications" .....everything. It'll work for a day or so then I wont get emails anymore.
Any suggestions?
Running Energy ROM. Stock kernel.
Thanks :good:

Did you check the sync settings?
If not, go under system settings>accounts & sync> then click your google account and check the box by gmail. if it is already checked, i would uncheck it then re check it. If it still doesn't work, uninstall and re-install gmail.

Yes, I have tried that. It won't even let me "Sync Now". The buttom blinks like it's been depressed but no syncing takes place. I can uncheck and check the separate accounts but doesn't do a damn thing.
I have already done this without success...then uninstalled the Gmail app. When re installed, it works for a little bit....day or two later I notice my phone hasn't gotten any emails.
I'll keep you updated. Thanks for the help
I had this problem. Try clearing the App data then going back into the app. It should work. If not, help it for a few days.

What I meant is clear it once, Go into the app, sync your data and then it should work for a few days at least. You just have to clear it once.

Not sure if this applies or not but whenever I get a warning that my phone is low on memory nothing will sync. Clear up some memory and see if that does the trick.

Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped

Hello,
Just started happening about 4 days ago, this message will pop up when im actually using the cell like internet, etc. ive googled and seen the threads on here with pple using rooted or mod and also not specific to my phone. My phone is Mobilicity and I havent changed it, its all stock; and 6 days ago i reset to factory default. I dont mind doing another reset but its quite annoying like when scrolling through and it stops, i have to wait 5 seconds for the message "Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped", and click OK; then a few minutes later it does the same thing.
I also have that message bug, says i have messages when i clearly dont.
For your consideration,

Read my comment on disabling sync internet. Do that first before you go all out and wipe everything. I had the same issue. It might work for you too.
