I have downloaded and extracted a stock ROM from samfirmwares.com. Can I make a CWM flashable zip from these files inside the package? Or could someone upload a cwm backup for me? I want to go back to original fw. The reason why I don't flash via Odin is because my gio does not have USB connection (it charges, but no data connection).

Maybe try swiping down your status bar, when you have putted your phone to the PC via Usb? then click on the thing that will show in the status bar and click it, and you will set the USB MASS STORAGE
Problem is that there is nothing to tap on

Make sure you have installed Samsung Kies it will install the drivers (Normally windows Install the driver itslef)
Otherwise your cable may be damaged.
I have installed kies and all drivers. Tried with other cables, nothing.
I think this problem came after my phone came out if service center, they had some hardware replaced. maybe they forgot to connect USB data wires?
So, could someone upload a cwm backup of the stock ROM?

thats the problem, i cant because my computer doesnt recognize my phone in download mode so i cant do the rom installation from odin.
Do you have a custom recovery installed? I can do both of the following for you: Send you a good custom recovery for the Gio and send you a custom recovery flashable .zip of the Galaxy Gio 2.3.6 Stock ROM. Though I wouldn't be able to do it right away (I can do it this weekend), how about it?
i have clockworkmod recovery installed. if you can and its not a problem i would love to have the flashable stock rom, i really appreciate that you want to help me )

Your ops file is the real mess behind all this. Just rename it. Remove any model number from its name. For example:- (for mini) "S5570_TASS_v1.0.ops" is wrong. & the correct name is "TASS_v1.0.ops"
★Remember that Odin will display the model number of ur device in its title bar as soon as u place the correct ops file under OPS field regardless of whether the phone is physically connected to PC or not★

No No No... Not at all. It's correct(if model no. appears in Odin's title bar) You should check ur phone's drivers then or install them again on PC to get ur phone detected coz that's only the possible reason left then.

Hello
I have a little big problem with my Gio. Yesterday, accidentally i tripped over the USB cord, that was connected to teh PC and the phone, and i think e may have busted the USB port on the phone. Now it doesn't recognize the phone (it says "USB device not recognized"). I've tried installing a number of drivers, and it simply refuses to connect. Also i think it's not charging properly.
The problem is, the waranty is void without the stock rom, but to flash the stock rom i need odin, and odin is only by usb...
My question here is, can't this be done with the recovery menu, i mean, backup the stock rom from another gio, and then use that backup on my phone?
Thanks
EDIT: SOLVED
Used Mobile Odin available in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2193834
Well, i think it's possible to go back to stock with flashable zips, look around on the forums abit you should find some.
Also make sure you go back to stock recovery (somehow) and unroot.

The recovery i know i can flash, because i did it once, the only big problem is really the firmware. i can't seem to find it anywhere.
Ya if u cant find a flashable one then look on the samsung firmware sites like sammobile.com and find a firmware with your baseband.
And with a bit of luck you may find someone wanting to help you and turn it into a flashable zip. (I would do it but i have no idea how to even start on that)
You could do it yourself but 1 mistake and your pphone is hardbricked, and not booting + a broken plug will look quite suspicious at the service centre.
Good luck

hi
when i connect my galaxy grand with usb the computer does not detects it.Windows does not ask for any driver installation.I have tried reinstalling samsung kies and drivers several times.restore the phone to factory settings, wipe all the cache ,tried switching usb debugging on and off but no help.but still it does not gets detected..What could be the problem. And how can i claim warranty.I can reset the counter to zero using triangle away. But the official status is custom. How do i remove it without flashing.I am on stock rom, rooted. It does not get detected in download mode also.
i tried using moborobo also but no use
[SOLVED] It was the connector issue.I cleaned the connector terminals with a pin and now it works like a charm

Actually if your phone cannot be detected how do you flash CWM?
The only way to reset everything to official is, you must Reset the BIN counter using Triangle Away, then flash your country's official ROM through ODIN (which about 700++MB, very large).
After flash and setup your phone, everything will be revert to official. (Go into Download mode to check)
try using mobile odin to uninstall cwm.
It is certainly driver issue.
Try killing Kies (all related processes) before plugging your device.

LOL-nobody noticed that you were able to root so after all you were connected via usb before? If so 3 things-
1. Your usb cable is defective.
2. Your grand usb connector is defective.
3. Your grand motherboard is defective

my phone is not getting detected so cannot use odin
Anyways I cleaned up the usb connector terminals with a pin and it worked
lol... thats horsecrap. It probably worked because you charged it.
For all the others looking for an answer to this, try charging the battery to more than 80% and then try again.
I noticed that while the phone is out of juice, its not detected in download mode.
Noticed the bug a while back.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 2x GT-S7560M with CWM 5.0.0.4 (I believe) installed on it. My phone was crammed with apps and some system applications weren't working (messaging and dialer to be exact), probably because I removed some system apps without referring to the list of safe apps to remove.
I decided it would be best to just start over. I formatted the phone through cwm and tried to flash the original stock rom.
It displayed error in /sdcard/"name of rom".zip (status 0). Installation aborted.
Some extra information about the problem:
- It can't mount /emmc (I don't know what that is)
- It seems to be unable to mount the internal sd card because I tried flashing a zip from there, but it showed some sort of error.
I forgot to mention that I also checked for bad downloads, and have already tried formatting the sd card itself.

Bump.
Please......bump.
I think emmc is the internal sdcard, so it makes sense that u can't flash zips from there, but it doesnt seem right.
Are u able to go back to stock using Odin? and if so, will youur sdcards (both internal and external) work on that?
I'm sorry, but as my name suggests, I am a total noob. Is Odin, in a way, a recovery mode that can be launched from your computer? Will I be able to flash the stock rom though Odin? I never knew what Odin is, but I've heard little about it, sorry.

Yes, odin is a flashtool for samsung devices.
You can enter into download mode on your phone by pressing volume down+home+power (while vol up+home+power should be recovery)
Once in there, u connect it to the pc via usb, and then u can flash it via odin.
Get odin from this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189539
And samsung usb driver from this thread --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2038555
Once the usb drivers are installed, odin (when opened and phone is plugged in in download mode) will recognize your phone, indicated by a colored bar beneath the top left square (cyan if using 3.09 or 3.07)
then download your stock firmware from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ (search for "GT-S7560M") any unbraded will do.
once downloaded, open the AP or PDA button in odin (depends on what version you are using) and load the tar.md5 of the firmware u just downloaded into it.
to the left leave all unchecked except for auto-reboot and f. reset. time and then hit flash.
It will install stock firmware on your phone then
To be entirely sure u get it all right, use this guide too --> http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...08-guide-how-flash-tar-files-odin-3-07-a.html.
Goodluck!
Thank you! I have one more question, after flashing the stock rom, will I be able to flash normally using recovery?

I don't actually own this model of ace II, so I can not say this with certainty, but I expect it to work again after flashing stock rom back via odin.

I'm trying to unroot my note too but the USB will not work is there a zip file I can flash that would take me back to stock ?
I doubt if there would be any zip available, but assuming you are rooted (you say you are trying to un-root) you could use Mobile Odin Pro (not free) or Mobile Odin Lite (free) to flash back to stock. It will recognize the tar and md5 stock files.
