[Q] AT&T US Version of Galaxy won't charge - Galaxy S II Accessories

Hi, I'm new to the forum, and I tried searching before creating this topic. I have a total of 3 batteries. Two of the 1650mAH with the near field communication and they both work just fine. So I have purchased the new 2000mAH official Samsung battery.
The issue is that, I plug it in and it works fine - but when I plug it into the wall charger or USB charger from the computer; it will go shut down the phone and goes into an endless loop. It's won't charge or boot up unless I unplugged it.
I done some search and can't find any solid information. Any help or information will be helpful.
Thanks

That battery doesn't have nfc that's why it keeps booting that battery is for the i9001 not the i777

Batteries dont have NFC, as the earlier poster noted, your phone seems to be going through the boot loop and there are other threads on the forum that address this, please search for them.

If you did any searching at all, you would have known to stay on your own device forum, especially when buying an accessory where it comes to a crucial element like powering your device.

Charging issues - and are they fixable?

Hi, I am sorry if this has been covered but please bear with me. I would like a Galaxy Nexus and one of my friends is looking to sell his. The problem is he is having a charging problem with his phone.
From what he has told me, the problem is that the phone won't charge properly by USB, the included charger or with an iPhone charger (with those it gets about 50% charged in a night) but it WILL charge fine with an iPad charger (higher current). Searching Google I have seen numerous posts about charging issues with the GNex but none seem to quite fit this description. He has tried flashing a new ROM, wiping the cache and fixing permissions - I don't know about a factory reset or what ROMs he used but it has persisted at least from 4.0.4 to 4.1. As I don't have the phone I can't experiment and try things out. So what I really want to know is if anybody here has experienced this problem and if they have found a solution. I don't mind taking the phone if I believe I can fix it, but the risk of not being able to always charge the phone (since I don't typically have an iPad charger everywhere I go) would be a real inconvenience.
(Obviously I haven't given you that much to go on but that's all I have.)
Thank you for any help you can give.
It's the GSM version by the way.
I'm not sure I fully understood your post.
But try changing the usb cable and turn in warranty.
I know a similar case where the device was replaced under warranty.
Uhm... I don't know what your friend has been doing to his Galaxy Nexus, but trying an iPhone charger seems very unlikely to me, since AFAIK those use a different kind of plug...
In any case I'd have my doubts about this particular device. Depends of course how much he's asking. It's for sure still under warranty (EU is a mandatory 2 years at least, UK should benefit from the same rights I think) so if there's a HW problem you could get it fixed. If his asking price is close to a new one however, just shell out the extra couple of pounds & get yourself a brand new one to be sure

I am not 100% sure but this might work. If you buy just drain it completely and charge it completely while switched off. then directly go to recovery and wipe battery stats and drain it completely again and charge normally. Might fix it but not sure. Seems more like a software bug than hardware.

This will have no effectt.
Check if charging the device while it is turned off makes a difference, if so, there is an app that causes huge battery drain.
If it makes no difference, the charging circuit or battery might be shot.

Same issue. I tested around with it and found it will stop charging if starts to get hot. Then I power cycle and plug it in with the screen off and will charge just fine. Basically can't really play with it while charging or it will stop charging but won't drain further either. Will just start to get really hot. Do a Google on gnex nfc battery. Guess the battery has a chip in it also along with some temp control..? That will stop charging due to heat
Also says not to use other chargers or put battery in other phones to charge or other phone batteries in yours. That could be a sales thing but not all batteries are nfc. My ns4g has nfc capability but battery isn't an nfc battery

Galaxy Nexus doesn't turn on

Hey, guys. I'm facing problems with my Galaxy Nexus I9250.
Last night I left it charging (the battery was around 16%) and this morning I've tried to turn it on and nothing. Tried to charge using different chargers and nothing. Tried to use USB to charge and nothing.
After that I got it, with the original charger, to my office and tried some other methods.
Tested the battery and it displayed some charge. Checked the battery connectors and they are sending energy.
Tried to wait a while without battery and turn it on, nothing. Without battery and nothing. Everything again without battery and connected to the power source and nothing. Left it charging a while and nothing.
Don't know what else can I try before taking it to the support. The problem is my Nexus was bought in US and I'm in Brazil right now. They don't have support for Internationals. I'm stuck. If I'll need to rely on Samsung support I'm, pardon for my words, screwed.
Any help would be appreciated.
This happened to me exactly. I luckily was within 2 weeks of purchase and just did an exchange.

Man, that's bad. To send my phone over to US and then get it back here is not worth it. Yeah, it sounds stupid, but that's the truth around here if we need to rely on our postal service combined with our customs. Unless I find a different solution to ship it to US this is what I have.
Still looking for a local or home-made solution.
A common problem on the nexus s is the power button stops functioning correctly. Although this may not be your issue, it couldn't hurt to try pressing the power button in different ways, tapping that area. Or how about leave battery out, plug phone in to charger and then insert battery. Just some ideas...
Thanks for your ideas. I think I already tried all of these, but I'll check again just in case.

Another Bricked GNex (toro)

Hey all, here's the story of my galaxy nexus woes.
Phone: toro galaxy nexus running Jelly Belly 3.5
Problem: phone won't boot or charge (not even the boot loader, USB or AC)
Story: plugged in my phone before bed as usual. Seemed to be working fine up to this point. I don't remember if I saw the charging symbol or not. Woke up to a dead phone that wouldn't charge or boot.
Solutions tried:
1.) A charger and cable that I know are good - nothing
2.) Brand new charged battery - nothing
3.) Multiple battery pulls, letting it sit on the charger, plugging it in without the battery - nothing
I can't get the phone to make a peep. No vibrations on power hold, no screen flashing or charging symbols, absolutely zero sign of life.
4.) Read online that pushing in the tab on the charging port might help - nothing
5.) Vigorous internet searches - nothing I hadn't already tried
Does anybody have anything that I can try before I just replace with my insurance plan? I'm down for some sketchy stuff.
Thanks

Ahh, there is the thread I was out looking for! OP should be good to go!
Unfortunately it didn't work. I guess it goes to insurance unless somebody else has a miracle cure. Thanks anyways!
EDIT: I just can't believe this thing randomly bricked. I thought these phones were near impossible to kill?

[Q] Will NOT hold charge. Help. No solution so far.

Yes, I know I know this question has been asked a million times on here. I have tried looking through past forums & none hold my unique problem. Just please, help you guys. OH MY GOD! My phone will not hold its charge and ive literally tried EVERTHING. I have a nexus galaxy and one night it decides to not charge after I connect to about 3 different chargers. I take it to Sprint & they tell me the port is busted so they replace it & it works fine. I charge it at home & the little battery icon says its charging but the battery itself is getting lower & lower. That makes no sense. How could it obviously say its charging but the freaking battery not charge? so I go in again & they give me a new battery. Still to no avail. I even bought a new charger and when I come home to charge it, the battery gets lower as if its not being charged. the lock screen says its charging but when I log into the phone & check the battery options on settings, it says its not. its so frustrating and I don't know what else to do. please help! is it probably something internally wrong with the phone to where I have to replace it to a whole new one?
I have never had such problems but you changed all possible hardware relating from your nexus what about software?
Maybe a complete new stock 4.2.2 flash could help. Have you tried it?

Samsung Note 2 starting only with wall charger

Samsung Note 2 starting only when plugged in wall charger. As soon as i unplug it, it turns off. I bought the phone like this, so i don't know much about it's past. It was also in factory mode, but i managed to root and get it in user mode.
I bought a battery from a friend, but it's the same problem with either of them. Would it be possible for both batteries to be out of juice? Should i run out and buy a new battery?
I also tried swapping the motherboard with a working / previously tested motherboard, but it was the same. Any ideas to what's causing this battery related problem?
solved. got a new battery. worked.
