4500mah????? That is immense!! I will wait for the pics before I make any judgement.
Sounds about right.
Mugen's extended S II battery is 3200, and the stock is 1650, so it's roughly double.
The downside, of course, is good luck finding a case.

its 30 bucks for 2x 5000mah batteries + covers.. wtf? there has to be a downside
I like...Well, maybe a little fat.
There are several reviews for this battery out already and the general consensus is it's pricey but well worth it - especially compared to cheap Chinese batteries that tout the same capacity (or higher). I think "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here!
I've never tried one of those Chinese batteries but I have just received the 4500mAh from Mugen and will post another review to add to the bunch in a bit.
Yes i have heard!Interesting News! they are available for order from 20th of april according to mugen facebook
Meanwhile i have found a good review in pictures for the 4500mAh version:

yea, i just bought one i will see how works
On the captivate forums a user bought a few of these different mAh batteries and did tests with some battery meters. None of the batteries did as well as the stock OEM batteries. Even known "good" brands like Seido didn't do well. The higher capacity batteries never did as well as even stock batteries and the cheap eBay batteries that matched the originals did really bad.
If i want an extra battery i will just buy it from AT&T or Moto - or somewhere that i know the one i buy is genuine.
i bought one today too
I asked the seller:
Does the battery fit in the original battery-case?
here is his answer:
his is andida battery. It is better than the original battery thick only little .do not worry,it could be use
Do you think it will fit?
I looked and it seems to me like there's not really room for a thicker battery....
Make sure to check out the seidio battery...that might be a good one.

I would be very wary of any battery that is any thicker than the original. If you have to press harder on the cover to get it to clip on with the thicker battery, it could be physically stressing the circuit boards or other components.

Yeah, why not? I had a 3000 mAh one for my Galaxy S, so let's try a 5000 mAh for the Note.
It's going to be a big brick, but sometimes can be useful, when I spend all day outside and it's more practical than an external battery pack.

oh if you tested on GSII then probably good choice.
you know I just used these extended batteries before...in the end, they worked the same number of hours as the original battery. I probably did not properly used them ! But the only company that supposedly provides a guarantee that only Mugen. "The working time" are same , but one of them will surrender much more faster...
(Again, this is purely my opinion, and can be a deeply wrong)

Not quite true - it's only for the massively extended batteries.
For example, the stock battery for my mytouch 4g is 1400 mah.
Mugen has a 1650 mah that fits in the battery case. The 3200 one is much thicker and does not.

I agree and moreover I would like to know how long will last before its real capacity starts to drop at each charge. Such type of batteries have typically lower capacity and life than the original one even the ones that are sold with warranty.
OK, OK, we all know it's not really 5000 mAh, it won't last as long as the official one, but it's dirty cheap. If it loses capacity after 100 recharges, what? It's 12 €. I find it useful for the summer when I spend many hours outside. And I save the official and good battery for normal use.

what's the capacity on the standard battery packs? That 2.3ah one you linked to does not look much bigger, do you also need a new back cover for that one?

That's too good to be true ... most probably fake, I meant it contain less than 2300 mAH.
And it is for "Galaxy Nexus prime" ... bwahahaha ... Yeah, right!
Also, it does not look to have NFC.
I bought this one: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/110797773716#ht_4338wt_905
It has NFC and it is (slightly) higher capacity. The back cover fits perfectly, and is almost identical to the CDMA GN back cover. Makes the device just a tad less concave near the bottom. Looks and fees better in my opinion.
I've ordered one of the 3,800 ones, I'll post a review when I get it!

Been thinking about this. I hate putting on huge battery packs so the 2000mAh was appealing. but $50 for such a small bump is hard to justify for me, especially considering I have no plans to get a desk charger and swap batteries.

I was thinking the same thing, but I went for it anyway. I bought it so I wouldn't have to swap batteries. The 2000mah battery has about 15% more capacity, so if you get say 12 hours on the regular battery, you should get 13.7 hours. If you get 18 hours, you should get 20.6 hours. As well, I find my GN feels much better in my hand with the extended battery: it is slightly heavier and less concave in the back (i.e., it looks like an LTE GN).

So these were hit and miss on the HTC Hero. Any other reviews? Wish it was $10 like that one was. May just try it to know for sure.
i think its safe to say there is a lot of variability in what these sellers are putting out. i personally was happy with the 3 for 13 deal posted here, but others had a bad experience. I know people in the EVO forums (my old home) had good experiences with "chinitech" batteries(available on amazon). The only surefire way to know if they are any good is to test em and decide for yourself. I know its isnt much help but its all i got...
If you buy from a retailer with a good return policy (amazon) its less risky than buying from an ebay all sales final type of seller.
It is always a hit and miss with batteries but I personally had good experience with Andida batteries when I had my Evo.

eBay sellers do this when they run out of stock and don't want to remove the ad because they are, in most likelihood, getting a new shipment soon. When they get their shipment, the price will go back to normal.

I agree too, their products are very reliable and the quality is superb, I bought an extended battery from them a few years ago for the Droid Inc and always got atleast 26+ hrs on it. Of course like any other battery, it too lost its juice after 2 years but I was very satisfied with its output. Right now there is no timetable on when the battery will be released (I sent Seidio an email and waiting for their response) but hopefully the battery isn't bulky enough that it sacrifices the phones' beauty.
