I know adapters to get micro sims to work in sim slots exists for GSM, anyone done this with the verizon LTE sims? I plan on switching between my nexus and old tbolt a bit (going to use it as a 'beater' phone now) but the different sim sizes make that difficult..
I just had a read of this:
http://blog.rebelsimcard.com/iphone-4g-ipad-micro-sim-compatibility-news-update.htm
From what I understand the differences between the two types of sizes is only the amount of surrounding plastic. Shouldn't have any problems then as long as the chip and contacts connect.

Anyone tried this? My Excalibur is SIM unlocked and works with a selection of non-3 SIMs, but using a PAYG SIM from 3 says SIM not found (or words to that effect). But, the 3 PAYG SIM works fine in my Nokia N95. I notice that the SIM pinout is different (3 has only 6, but Vodafone and tmobile have 8). I confess I didn't realise that there were still 2 types on SIM in circulation 'cos I thought that all SIMs would work in all mobiles (assuming they're unlocked and all that) these days? I am I just being naive?
Yeh I believe the 3 SIM is for 3G phones only. Whereas the other carriers' sims work in 2G and 3G phones.
When there are no 3G cells in range a 3 phone is supposed to revert to T-mobile's 2G network however I guess they decided to prevent 2G phones doing this as it could get expensive for them if too many customers are using the out-sourced network perhaps.
Cheers for the reply. I since also tried it in an unlocked N73 (a phone that 3 sell or used to anyway) and that can't see the SIM either. So, I reckon it's time to call 3 and tell them I have a dud!
The think that gets me is that the SIM is a different layout to all those I've seen before, but the SIM-only deal says "if you want to keep your existing phone, get a SIM-onloy deal and provided the phone is unlocked, you're good to go" (or words to that effect). Hmmm... I'm not so sure.
One final question: I've hunted around for SIM specs but all I can find is a Russian site giving the PIN layouts of a couple of SIMs. But, can someone point me to a site that lists what kind of SIM (pin layout) is used with which kinds of phone?
EDIT:
Ahh - I thought I was getting one of these:

but I actually got one of these:

Quick question, I saw that the GN has a sim slot, as I was expecting it to. My question is if that slot is only for LTE? Or is the slot able to be used by GSM sims as well?
I ask because next fall I will be in the EU for 7 months and I would rather not buy another phone right before I leave
I realize this would be easily answered by finding the supported bands but I was only able to find the info for the HSPA+ version
Thanks!
No. It only works for Verizon LTE SIMs. There is no GSM support on this phone. You'll have to get a different device when you travel to Europe.

the LTE version is CDMA
CDMA devices does not require SIM card
if you can find a local CDMA provider willing to enable a Verizon phone without question, then you can use it
but you will still not be able to get LTE unless your provider uses the same LTE frequency
will t mobile 4g after i unlock this phone ....
also will the at&t one x wok with t mobiles 4g service after i unlock it
Bump
I also want to know if the international one x Quad core will work with US Tmobile?
Vibrant MiuiV4 360° Productions
it will work but u will only get edge/2g unless u live in an area where tmo already refarmed the 1900mhz spectrum.. just wait for tmo to release their new one x plus

You might also need a non-gba micro sim for EDGE to work on tmobile. Wasted a lot of time looking for it as they are discontinued. You might get lucky and find one still sitting at a tmobile store. The card holding the micro sim would be blank instead of a photo that tmobile usually prints on the card. And also look for the 50.01 printed on the edge of the micro sim itself. Had a relative with this problem so we just cut his old sim since he hadnt switched to a gba SIM yet.
My newer micro sim did not allow me to save the Tmobile apn . Switched it to my wife's older sim that I cut down to a micro for her iphone. Entered the T-Mobile APN hit the save button and of course it worked. I was then surprised when I switched my sim back in and it still worked. Had a few 50.01 SIMS ready but did not have to cut any down and call T-Mobile to switch them.

I was looking around different forums and I keep hearing that the unlocked S8 had an "LTE+" designation in the top right hand corner next to the signal strength meter. My SIM card is about 5 years old. Do I need a new SIM card and/or different APN settings to allow for LTE+ on my Galaxy S9 (which I assume is LTE Advanced (channel bonding))?
Now I know that some things such as WiFi calling and VoLTE won't work on my unlocked version though hopefully it supports all the bands that AT&T uses.
Thanks everyone.
It's been a while since I worked for AT&T but I can say this: why not? They give you the sim for free at any corporate store, so it's not like it's going to cost anything more than gas and time.
I decided to get US Unlocked version of Note10+. It has the most comprehensive LTE band compatibility among all models which benefits T-Mobile users. But I do like the dual sim option offered in other oversea models since I need to receive verification text message from another international sim occasionally.
Came across Simore Speed ZX-Twin Galaxy Note 10+ dual sim adapter. Its basically a tiny piggyback that should fit inside a case. Has anyone used similar device? How is battery consumption and LTE speed impact if any?
I looked at a video online. Looks like it works. What I cannot tell is if you can recover calls on both numbers all the time, or if the switch to the second SIM is the equivalent of removing one sim and inserting another. I have the dual SIM F/DS and both numbers make my.phonr ring any time (unless I'm on a call but I can direct the other to VM, or do a follow me to the number I'm on). I agree that it misses certain bands (which I'm sure results in me not getting great data speed in the US), but it's a compromise.
