i wiped everything and installed RunnyDroid V2 it said installed completed and now it shows htc screen then goes back into recovery. What should i do or what am i doing wrong?
try and re-download the rom, maybe you were unlucky and have a bad file, do other roms flash ok since that problem?
is there another link to download that you know maybe i can download from some where else
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374838
there are both the original link and mirror link, but just to make sure, do any other roms work ok?

sorry to say, but this rom installed just fine for me...
u put it on your sd n install through recovery correct
yes copied to sdcard, reboot to recovery, full wipe, dalvik wipe, choose rom from sd-card to install.... done (was snappy at lockscreen and homescreen but a bit laggy on app draw)
You need the Desire Z HBOOT for all Sense 3 > roms.

alright guys,i need help.
i installed cyanogenmod 7 in my motorola defy, which worked good.
after few weeks,i had some ploblems and wiped my data/reset factory thing.
now, when im booting,it shows the moto logo and doesnt do anything.
what do i do to make it work again?URGENT HELP NEEDED.
If you can still access custom recovery (still see the blue led 6-7sec after powering up), then volume down at that moment and reinstall RC1.5 zip from SD.
Otherwise, back to square 1: bootloader mode (power+vol up) and reflash Froyo sbf with RSD and read/follow CM7 FAQs.
Next time try wipe cache and Dalvik from custom recovery 1st.
Factory reset is pretty much only (and needs to be) used only before going back to Froyo by RSD flashing.
thank you for your help, but dude ive already tried that.it said that its installed successfully but when i reboot, its still stuck at the moto-logo.i have tried flashing sbf but that aint working too,rsd says unable to flash.please help.

1.9 then 1.9.5
If you continue to hit walls you can always try going back to stock and starting over. Some on the starburst forum have had luck with that. And you didn't wipe data or format system between 1.9 and 1.9.5? Only cache and dalvik?

Having the same issue
epic touch (loading starburst rom) shows the galaxy S boot like it should, then the screen seems to just go blakc, doesnt go into a boot cycle. I formatted the system , wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik , in that order.
My procedure. Load odin, wipe the current zedomax kernal.tar with the root.
Root works great. Then flash the 6.1 zedo max ( for CM5 ). After that, i try to flash the staburst rom and it wont boot back up. i tried using the Lost kernal too.
I'm familiar with recovering it, so i'm able to get back to my backup and unroot the device no problem, just need help fixing the root. On my old EPIC, i had to do the one click root my self, then roms would load fine. please help!

HELP...
Im having the same issue... i tried the starburst rom and once past the boot animation it goes black so i booted into recovery and tried to restore my nand and it isnt there like it was wiped during rom install... ok so after that i stayed in recorery downloaded the latest viper rom, flashed and the same thing happened.. i wiped\factory reset wiped dcache and cache every time i try a new rom... PLEASE HELP i just bought this phone from a freind and decided to root and now i cant even make my first call on it...
1. Boot into CWM recovery and make a Nandroid backup.
2. Format system under mounts and storage.
3. Wipe data/factory reset.
4. Wipe cache partition.
5. Wipe Dalvik cache under advanced.
6. Install StarburstROM. IF COMING FROM 1.8 YOU MUST FOLLOW THE ABOVE STEPS EACH TIME THEN INSTALL 1.9. THEN DO THE SAME AND INSTALL 1.9.5.
7. Wiping data may not be necessary but I would do it anyways then reboot, let it run for a few minutes, boot back into CWM and from the advanced restore menu restore just your data from the Nandriod backup you made.

Your Nandroid is still there it's just on your internal SD card. If you were using a kernel with an early version of CWM it backed up to the internal SD card. The latest version the dev's are incorporating into their ROMs now backs up to the external SD card. Just Odin back to whatever previous ROM/kernel you were on then boot up and copy the Clockwork folder to your external SD card. Then follow the directions I posted above for flashing StarburstROM.

well i finally got my starburst rom working... but why does the media not. i cant play music, veiw pictures, or play videos.
Is that v1.9.5? If so what version did you upgrade from? People are having some problems when upgrading to 1.9.5.
Same issue. Tried multiple times, followed instructions to a T. Phone just goes black after flashing Starburst. Now I can only go to recovery or download mode. I couldn't install my nandroid backup (don't know why, based on filename it seemed like an old one from a different phone, not the one I did today).
Trying to go back to stock following
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1274337
but I'm on a MAC, and can't figure out how to heimdall a ROM. I can flash a kernel using heimdall, but don't know the commands and flashing order for the stockEG30.tar in terminal using heimdall. I also downloaded the frontend suites for heimdall, but can't figure out where to place stockeg30.tar files.
Any help? I have no windows machines.
in order to install starburst v1.9.5 you must have v1.9 installed first (recommended w/ flashing zedomax kernal or lost kernal in CWM after reboot), make sure phone is rooted properly and CWM is installed if not already (can be done via download mode w/ odin)
download v1.9 here:
http://dev-host.org/z1jsf3k9lh44/stable_epic_starburst_10.27.11_v1.9_.zip
to get this on your sdcard you will have to mount through usb on cwm via mounts and storage and connect to your pc
follow rom flash instructions as usual in cwm:
format system through mounts and storage
wipe data
wipe cache
wipe dalvik through advanced
install zip from sdcard
reboot
wait a few minutes booted
then set up your phone
next flash/install either zedomax kernal or LOSt kernal via CWM
forums and downloads found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1284
wipe cache and dalvik before for flashing through cwm
reboot
next download v1.9.5 here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276320
make sure it is saved to the root of your sdcard from which you want to install
next all you have to do is flash v1.9.5 over v1.9
do not format system
do not wipe data
do not wipe cache
do not wipe dalvik
install from sdcard
reboot

I'm using the Bravo CM7 r2 hboot (system 145M, cache 5M, data 287M)
I'm s-off and all the other good stuff and currently running the latest Oxygen build without any problems.
The system itself seems to of hung on the Why so serious? Alpha rev splash after installing the rom.
Can any one point out what I've done wrong?
Firstly, is there any reason to post in the Q&A forum instead of the ROM thread itself?
Secondly, did you read the instructions clearly? Are you sure you downloaded the cm7r2 version of the rom? Did you do a FULL wipe before flashing again? When you're installing it did you choose the D2EXT version? If so have you got an EXTn partition on your sd-card?
Yes the reason I posted here is because it won't let you reply unless you have 10 or more posts.

Yes I did a full wipe (data, cache, davalisk)
Yes I downloaded the right version for my hboot

Yes, you can. You only have to wipe dalvik cache + cache before. But this information can be also found in the rom's thread:

How did you partition your SD card?
I'm not sure how I've done that, how can I check?
Scratch that
Formatted the sd card with a nice large fat32 primary and 2.5 gig of ext4
That explains alot and solves my problem I think, thanks for pointing that out
2.5 GB for ext4 could be the problem because it might be too big. Reduce it to 1,5 - 2 GB by reformatting your SD card and then flash Runnymede again.
Sent from dGB with Transparent XDA App
Well my problem is solved and its up and running, I had a 16 gig sd card that wasn't formatted in any way for app2sd.
As far as I can tell there hasn't been any issues with the size of the partition and it has loads and loads of room for the good stuff.

Hi,
I have question regarding 5.3 version, i also had it in previous versions of sebastians runnymede roms. Its about daemon controller. When i set for example from smartassv2 to let say performance after awhile it automatically sets to interactive, or if i change from 998400 to lets say 115200, it automatically sets itself to the minimum of 128000.
Does anyone know the solution to that, or at least how to get back to stock settings of smartassv2 at 998400, because it really annoys me how it changes to something i didnt set and creates lag...
thanks alot!

I have a suggestion about the Runnymede AIO V2.5,
if you always finds it shutdown in idle mode, and need to remove battery again for system restart,
you can install the older kernel just like Gingerbread 0.8C or 0.9F,
it will be more stable.

Maybe try different kernel, there is new Mjolnir Kernel. You can fastboot it no need to install system from scratch after.
Hello,
I downloaded the CM9 RC1 from the cyanogenMod page, here's the link, http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=zeus&type=RC
The kernel is inside the zip (boot.img).
Put the .zip file you downloaded into the SDcard
copy the boot.img that comes inside the .zip to the folder where you have the flashing tools.
flash this kernel (You know how to do that, right?)
unplug from computer the cel and turn on, a freexperia logo appear and when the light in the power button turns on, press and keep pressed the down volume button. you'll enter to the recovery menu.
in the recovery (use the volume buttons to move and home button to enter), wipe data/fatory reset, then wipe cache partition and go advanced/wipe Dalvik Cache.
Still on the recovery, back to main menu (use the back button) and go to install zip from sdcard, then go to choose a zip from sdcard. You will see the files on your card, search for the downloaded .zip and install it.
when finish, go to main menu and choose reboot system now, and that's it!
That worked for me.... hope this will help you to install the CM9 :fingers-crossed:
Cheers :good:

Hello,
Also, DonĀ“t forget to download the google apps .zip file.
Put it in the same place you put the CM9 rom into the sdcard. on step 6, when the installation of the rom finish, before rebboting the phone, repeat the step 6 but choose the googles apps .zip file and there you go!
the link for the CM9 google apps is: http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip

Ok I looked all over the place and I could find anything about this issue. I have the telus s2x t989d and I went on rom manager and downloaded cyanogenmod 9 for my phone( only one available). Then I went in to install it and when it finished it just stayed on the really cool cyanogen boot screen and I had to power off and restore. Ive tried it a few times and nothing changed. I wiped the cache and stuff too. what should I do?
Are you trying to lead it directly from the app or are you trying to flash from recovery? Rom manager is buggy on the t989/t989D series. Flashing from an app is not recommended AT ALL due to potential of bricking the device
I guess my question is, what's your exact process you took...(i.e. steps taken)

its recommended to simply download the rom zip the boot into recovery and install there. I use cm9 stable with tdj Darkside kernel 6 and flash everything through twrp recovery never had a single boot loop in any room I've flashed. What rom are you running currently?
1.Download rom and place in external sd card.
2. Reboot into recovery
(You may want to wipe data/factory reset depending on what rom you are running and clean install are typically recommended unless coming from a previous version from same developer (i.e. cm, aokp, etc)
3. Flash darkside super wipe and cache wipe if using cwm non touch
4. Flash rom, gapps and kernel (if so desired on the gapps and kernel)
5. Reboot and wait 10mins
6. Reboot again and have fun!
Let me know if that helps

You need to have a recovery flashed to your phone to even start the root process. Cwm, cwm touch, or twrp. All are available in the sticky section as well as development section. If you are running stock recovery then that's your primary issue.

Yes, the only difference between T-Mobile and Telus versions is cosmetic. Telus is the T989D, T-Mobile is the T989. There is a reason why they are so closely named.

oh ya I have CWM recovery flashed so im good in that department. Im going to try out darkside superwipe now and see if that helps.
well I used darkside and then flashed my rom. Now it wont even go past the telus loading screen... Ive restored back again. I made it alot farther than this with rom manager haha. I actually saw the cyanogenmod opening cinematic... Ill try the darkside cache wipe this time and see if that helps. I downloaded the rom right from the cyanogen website...
Well neither is working. It just stays in the Telus loading screen. Not even the Samsung screen will load. I don't know what else to do...
