Files are way to big at 480p to share more than a couple of seconds of video via appd such as Whatsapp etc, does anyone know how to get the lower rez added to the camera or aware of an app that will allow native shooting at 320p?

The question should be "When will Whatsapp support more than 320p?" I doubt you'll see a while lot of support for anything less than 480p going forward.
Hi Ian, issues is with files that are about 15 seconds end up being more than 10 mb at 480p. Wish the 320p was included

Can anybody send video through MMS? Anytime I try to send a video I get an error saying file limit reached even on an extremely short video. Any suggestions or is there a fix for this? I came from the evo and had the same problem so is it just an android issue or something else? Please help. I would like to send videos if possible. Thanks.
Now that you mention it I have been able to send video since my HTC Hero! My guess is the vids we are making are higher quality, therefor to large to send. A 1080 video is quite large, even a 720.
edit....when I opened camera and switched to video it asked me what style of video. I chose for MMS and shot a short vid, it sent just fine with Handcent app.
Stock roms usually have a 1 mb limit ...on 3d the devs were fixing this up to 5 mb . When recording in hd 1 mb is like 2 seconds

I usually record videos using my Galaxy Nexus in 720p mode, because 1080p takes up a huge space and my internet is too slow for it..
When I play back the videos that I recorded, it looks so beautiful on the galaxy nexus. But when its on youtube (directly uploaded from the phone), my god! The quality is crap!
Here is the video
http://youtu.be/588xh372ZvU?hd=1 (Uploaded Directly from the YouTube app via WiFi)
http://youtu.be/RbgYReOEoO4?hd=1 (Uploaded from a computer to YouTube.com)
I have done absolutely NO edits or compressions on these videos, and they still looks pixelated! I think even my old HTC HD2 480p camera is better than this..
What can I do (except for going into 1080p mode) to make my video quality better?
Looks fine to me.
Try to stop zooming in and don't make many sudden movements as those cause it to have to focus again.
Also, it is always possible that YouTube is just decreasing the quality so...ya.

It looks so pixelated to me.. But on my other device that records 720p, it records way lot better than this..
There is way too much movement on both videos. I don't any camera phone could do better under those circumstances.
As a test, take another video without so much movement on the camera end and see if your quality improves.
Good luck.

That does not look like 720p to me, movement or not. Strange??? Take on in 1080p and upload it so we can see how it looks.
use the mod in my signature, re-shoot, upload and report back
by default 720p records at ~6mbps which for fast motion material can turn out blocky
download "media-profiles-final-holmes6.zip", flash in CWM, reboot
On my old iphone, HD videos recorded with the phone would be automatically compressed to be sent via text message.
On my Note 2 I can't seem to send ANY videos with the messaging app. I always get a size warning when attaching a video.
Does anyone know of a way to compress videos to send over mms? I do not want to record the videos in a lower quality resolution as this ruins the video for myself.
Does nobody send videos over mms?!
Maybe handcent or gosms would do this.

Try Vidcon from the play store. It's sort of like Handbrake for android, but much easier to use. Vidcon not only allows you to compress a previously recorded Hd vid but you can also change the format, among other things.
I also didn't want to record low quality vids on the chance that I might at some future point want to send it as mms. It is not free but the demo allows full functionally for 4 to 5 days. So you can see if it meets your needs. Hope this helps, and welcome to the android club.. ..

I think for now I will upload my videos to YouTube and send links to friends and family. Honestly it is a bummer to see that auto compression of mms videos isn't on my Note II.
Is there a way where we can see exactly how many photos or minutes of video we can record? I remember my old S3 mini had the feature in its stock camera where it showed the minutes/photos for each resolution.
There's not really a way except Math. Record one minute of video using a stopwatch, and see how big the file is. Then figure out how many minutes your storage can hold.

When recording a video on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S, it stops recording after 35 minutes even though there is plenty of memory to record video for more than an hour.
Is there a setting I can do to extend the video recording time so it does not stop recording?
No, I believe this is a built in limitation. Apparently it's to do with taxation. Proper video cams have unlimited video recording but have tax added because video cams are seen as a luxury. To get around having extra tax added which would increase cost, phones with video functions, dslrs, and tablets have their video recording times limited to half and hour or so.

Just use a video editor and merge the two videos together to make it as one. You can also use third party/ other camera apps to extend your recordings.
