Hi all,
Anyone received a notice for system update today? I am on 4.0.1, and got a 1.1MB update. I didn't install it yet as my GNex is rooted, any insight?
Thanks,
Chris
This sounds like a larger file than ITL41F. What build is currently installed on your phone?

Is it a market update as mine a bit earlier asked me to accept the terms and conditions again for some reason?
For ref my market says its version 3.3.12
Mine is ITL41D.
My market did ask me to accept terms and conditions as well, but I haven't applied the update yet.

Seeing as your on the outdated version, I'd guess its to ITL41F. You can accept the update then superboot again to regain root.

i missed the market update i rebooted the phone now its gone even when i check for updates it says ur system is up to date how do i get it back?
I just got this on my Canadian (Virgin Mobile) yakjuux Galaxy Nexus, which came with Android 4.0.1. Also 1.1 MB, but I haven't installed it yet.
Interestingly enough, the update notification says it's an update "for your Nexus Prime by Samsung" ...
It's 4.0.1 KL1 build.
I know the KL1 modem is killer on the SG2.

ahhhhhh ok
I'm on ITL41F and I didn't get any update notifications today. My phone build is yakju. Maybe that's why or I'm already up to date?
But I did get a market accept prompt today. My version was already 3.3.12 as of 12/04. On 12/03 it was 3.3.11 (according to Titanium Backup).

Coworker just got the update, he was ITL41D.I9250UGKK7 and now he's ITL41D.19250UGKL1. Kernel also was updated didn't note the numbers.
Just an update - I went ahead and applied the update, it stuck on the boot screen with a red triangle over an Android! After 15 minutes, I did a battery pull and it booted up fine.
Nothing has changed after the update, and still sitting at ITL41D.I9250UGKK7. The system update is gone now.

Can you check the home screen with Live Wallpapers. Is it still laggy? If they improved screen orientation, maybe they've improved something else as well.

Installing CWM recovery breaks OTA updates? I could swear I got the volume fix after I did this, but I might be mistaken. The update screen acts as though it is successfully checking for updates, but showing me up to date.
if you dont want to wait just get the rom from here http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html
and flash with fastboot you can do it with out wiping the phone
If your phone is yakju and you have an unlocked bootloader you can just manually apply the update yourself. That's what I did and it works great. Here's a step by step: http://www.androidcentral.com/how-manually-update-your-gsm-galaxy-nexus-android-402-ota
Also having root or an unlocked bootloader won't stop you from getting OTA updates. You will lose root if you update OTA but the bootloader will remain unlocked until you lock it again yourself. Some custom roms have OTA's turned off but if you're still stock, you'll get the update if you wait. Give them some time, they're pushing this to all the Gal Nex phones plus 4.0.3 to the Nexus S. That's a lot of data floating around out there.

no problem to wait.so far everything works with 4.0.1. but it makes me a little bit angry that the nexus s get 4.0.3 earlier as my super new Smartphone galaxy nexus which is titled as new superphone by google and for ics.
and that i wait 5 or 6 days maybe longer to geht a update to a old version!

I'm pretty sure installing CWM doesn't break OTAs because the OTA would just write over the custom recovery. That's happened to me before on my Nexus S when I had it rooted with CWM recovery. After receiving an OTA it overwrote everything and I just chose to keep it that way.

take a look at the build.
the "old" one should be ICL53F but I don't think that there is a new one or an old one.
I think that every 4.0.2 will be the same ICL53F.
I hope that someone who received the 4.0.2 today can confirm that he received the ICL53F.
I did a complete factory fastboot restore of 4.0.1 today and got the OTA 4.0.2 delivered a few minutes later, so I guess I have it. How do I test USB host feature? And it is ICL53F

I still don't understand they're not releasing 4.0.3. Many times better than 4.0.2 with great battery life, amazing performance and not a single reboot! My Nexus felt laggy and unstable before 4.0.3...
Do you guys feel that 4.0.1 is better than 4.0.2? If so, I will hold off on updating until 4.0.3 or better rolls out...

It is because you have CWM installed, not because your bootloader is unlocked. But it doesn't really matter. Look for a thread in the general section started by me that gives you a step-by-step on how to install an OTA with CWM.

Hi,
I bought a new nexus yesterday, just found out with android system info app that its a yakjuux! meaning all downloads will be done via Samsung.
It has android 4.0.1. I wanted to check, whats the latest ICS running on yakjuux handsets? if 4.0.2 than how to get it and and is there a manual way to pull the update if its released.
Also, can anyone recommend a good software to transfer data files from desire HD to nexus? would appreciate the help...
thanks
just go to about phone, and tell it to update, should go straight to 4.0.2 , mine did atleast, though not for long since I went and started custom rom'd it up (as usual)
If you want to have the most recent updates, you can change your phone to Yakju here. (the most recent for Yakju is 4.0.4) For transferring data between phones/roms, I would recommend Titanium Backup Pro. It is definitely worth your money.

Well not being a stock google image there could be quite a delay http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419170 however this build (yakjuux) seems to have both updates uploaded which means someone somewhere has got it and shared it.
So you have two options root try with this updates manually...
or put a stock image from google code web site
You can always wait ofcourse ... I didn't

You can find the manual update to yakjuux 4.0.2 here (yakjuux ICL53F from ITL41F): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419170
I received an update to that version from Google. I believe Google stopped the updates, though, because after the update there was a problem with the Market. However, if you do a factory reset from settings menu after the update, it resolved the Market issues for me.
I have not tried the yakjuux IMM48 update yet, because i'm not convinced that it is a current 4.0.4 update.

does flashing to Yakju ensures latest OTA updates from google? furher, does it require to wipe out the entire data?
According to multiple reports on this forum, the Galaxy Nexus IMM76I update is rolling out to users as of Friday 20 April, 2012.
As of the time of writing this post, there has been no official statement from Google, but unofficial reports suggest that this update fixes signal issues experienced by many GSM Galaxy Nexi after the IMM76D 4.0.4 update.
The update seems to be minor. Download the OTA update zip here:
http://android.clients.google.com/p....signed-yakju-IMM76I-from-IMM76D.46cf01d3.zip
This update zip works ONLY ON STOCK IMM76D 4.0.4 ROM WITH STOCK KERNEL. That means, ALL files in your system and boot partitions should be unmodified (file additions are okay, like with the case of root). A custom radio and/or root is fine for this update, though. Instructions on how to flash the zip, are on efrant's awesome thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419170
As of now, it's likely that the update is only for GSM Galaxy Nexus models running the Yakju build. Since the signal issue affected GSM models only, it's likely that the CDMA Galaxy Nexus won't get this update.
Time to start spamming the "Check Now" button even though I didn't have the issue in the first place!
Good news

But at least you don't have to hook up to a computer or anything.
ok what you need to do is
1. go to setting / apps then hit the all button at the top
2. scroll down to google services framework and then press it to open
3. hit the clear data button
4. go to settings / about phone / system updates (you will notice the date will be 1969 or 1970 this is ok )
5. hit the check now button
6. Nexus should show you the 4.0.4 update avaliable
7. hit install and enjoy

Just curious... are you on Yakju? and If so, was Yakju your original build or did you switch over to it?
Tried the framework reset like 8 times, no update found.
I'm on 4.0.4 IMM76D from a few weeks ago (which I OTA'd using the Framework reset trick).
Hopefully current 4.0.4 users will get this slipstream update. I have signal issues currently...
Which radio would we need to flash for the update (since I think we need original radio to flash update)?
Was it UGLC1 or XXLA2? I'm on IMM76D so I assume XXLA2.

Judging from all his replies, he flashed Yakju 4.1.1
Yeah. What I don't get is how he doesn't know what he flashed.
You should always know what files you're flashing to your phone. So you don't break your phone

My 6th senses tells me he flash stock using toolkit
Will the next nexus have a longer screen?
Flashed to Yakju, but unable to update to android 4.1
My device is a Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250 and I was on 4.0.4. I flashed to yakju (had the samsung variant for Middle East earlier) based on the instructions in androidforums (instructions here were difficult for me to follow), so that I'd get updates directly from google. Can't provide the androidforums link since I am a new member (WTF is that, really??).
As directed in the link, I downloaded samsung drivers and firmware, installed the drivers and then used the firmware to flash 4.0.1. The method did not root my device (double-checked that using the root checker app).
It updated to 4.0.2 through wi-fi. After that, it was not updating to 4.0.4 through wi-fi, but updated instantly as soon as I switched to my mobile network, and I have no idea why that happened. I am in UAE, and my carrier is Etisalat, FWIW.
Anyhow, now I'm not getting the 4.1 update either through wi-fi or mobile. When I click on system update, it shows that the update is downloading, and nothing downloads eventually and I get a message intimating me that the download has failed and that I can retry the download.
I have tried the usual trick: clearing google services framework cache and then restarting the phone, hasn't worked.
Can someone help please? I'm closer to a noob than a geek, as you would've figured out by now. So do bear in mind that I need detailed instructions..
Thanks in advance.
