Hello!
I just recently brought a htc wildfire S. I thought it would be easy to s-off just like my other htc (Desire HD).
But the question is, if the update; updates the HBOOT, can`t we find a matching HBOOT of the Hboot from a other device? Like HBOOT 1.03 and find another device which has the same HBOOT, and use their method to S-OFF?
i think every device has another... (but im not sure!)
Every device, wildfire, wildfire s, desire and not the same hboot, so they are not compatible.

Yes, thats why we want, that devs come and try to unlock bootloader of the wildfire s.
Next time, pls look for the threads they are here in forum. We have enough s-off requests, pls go in the threads

Hi folks,
I have a Desire A8181 mobile phone on Vodafone UK, the phone is not locked. I would like to update the ROM. Been looking at Leedroid. I updraded from 2.1 to 2.2 back in July 2010, but looking for something a little better.
Can anyone tell me, if I can update to Leedroid on my A8181 phone? if not what other ROM's would be ok to update?
Sorry, if this has already been asked, but I wanted to make sure first, rather than making a mess.
Thanks again

Good man, thanks for the quick reply. Will try it out later
Thanks again
Another question, do I need to remove the S-OFF and update the hboot to install a new rom, like Leedroid or Gingervillian?
I have a rooted desire, but the S-ON is still showing and I have hboot ver 80.xx
Thanks
You don't need to S-off ;-)

If the rom needs an custom hboot, u will need to s-off and flash another hboot.
But in the rom tread description it will say what kind of hboot you need.
i have Wildfire S with HBOOT 1.03.00, how i can make downgrade for makikng root ?
You can't as far as I am aware. Even if you could, the Wildfire S and Wildfire are totally different devices and what works on the Wildfire will NOT work on the Wildfire S.
i make him S-OFF, can i setup any firmware without root ?
I really can't help you regarding Wildfire S questions. You will definitely get better answers by asking your queries on the Wildfire S Forum here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1035
But, in case you already have S-OFF, I think you should be able to root without any issues.
I just got my HTC One X S-ON and the first noobish question I got is, whether it's recommended to upgrade through official HTC OTA and unlock at HTC dev.
Should I stay on 0.43 to hopefully gain easier S-OFF or can I update manually somehow without upgrading H.BOOT ? Or is it safe to say that you can downgrade and relock H.BOOT, when S-OFF is succesfully done.
Had a hard time on previous HTC models, so are afraid of the official ota ;-)
I hope you can answer me

-revolutionary-
Buzz pvt ship s-off
Hboot-6.01.1002
Microp-0622
Touch panel-atmel224_16ab
Radio-3.35.15.31
Hboot
Fastboot
Recovery
Clearstorage
Simlock
Your lucky your not bricked.
I would download the latest stock eu ruu from the sticky titled shipped roms in the development section and run it from your pc with your phone plugged in.
If all goes good you'll be back on stock and all your phone functions should work again.
Post your results here, then i'll help you get root after you are successful.
Are you absolutely sure you have a wilfire s (marvel) and not the older wildfire (buzz)? What's your model number?
You are in the wrong forum. You have the older Wildfire (Buzz) and this is the forum for the Wildfire S (Marvel/MarvelC).
You need to go here:
HTC Buzz: Wildfire

No, read again. He has a Marvel and has used Revolutionary, not knowing that it is for Buzz. Revolutionary has installed a Buzz bootloader on his Marvel.
Op you are OUTRAGEOUSLY lucky your phone even responds to input. Flash an official RUU for Marvel and hope it works.
Though that's interesting... was the phone S-ON before you used Revolutionary on it?
HBOOT says it's S-OFF now. If you were to now flash an unlocked Marvel bootloader to your device you will have radio S-OFF and an unlocked device.
my model number is pc49100 ok i will try there

Yep wrong phone.
Managed to get an ICS Rom on my HTC Legend.
I've got my hands on a Desire now and I'd like to do the same.
K900 and Sandvold both have pretty spiffy roms, what are the differences?
Once I unlock the bootloader what additional steps are there compared to the legend?
Thanks
The steps are basicaly the same for Desire and Legend, but depending on ur hboot version, it could be easier to use unrevoked or revolutionary instead of official bootloader unlock because those tools are rooting the phone at the same time. The difference between s-off and htc bootloader unlock is that s-off unlocks radio partition and one more, im unsure witch.
