Hi I have a rooted original HTC desire running cm7 with ICS theme
and I was wondering if there is anyway to make the HTC desire
have 4g connection...???
If there is can some one please tell me how to do it...
I really love my phone its rated #1 of the HTC desire models on Quadrant
and I wanted to make it even better..
To all HTC fans please let me know if there is a way
Thanx,
Bernard
I am pretty sure for 4G a phone needs specific hardware, which the desire does not have.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Hi all,
i have published some thoughts regarding HTC Desire and the new HTC Sense version on my Blog.
Hope this is helpful for anybody thinking about getting an HTC Desire:

Let me know if you have any questions. In the end i opted for the Nexus One and i'm currently working on my FroYo review. But the HTC Desire is still one of the best Android devices IMHO.
Thanks for the post but why did you post new and not on the current review thread?

Sorry, i didn't realize there was a dedicated thread for this.
If any admin reads this, could you please move my post to the "Desire Reviews" thread?
Thanks!

Hi,
I posted a poll here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822642
to have some advices from you
Could you help me to choose between the HTC Desire and HTC Wildfire?
I really don't know which noe to take.
Thanks ;-)
Are You serious man? I don't know any advantage of the wildfire over the Desire... the wildfires specs are all worse than the Desires ones
Even The htc hero is way more powerfull than the wildfire! Also it looks ****ty with the awful qvga resolution

Id rather have my old G1 that a Wildfire. Its a midget Nexus/Desire hybrid with a crap res and even worse specs.
But if you lile throwing your money at people in exchange for rubbish phones then go for it
Hello,
Since the Desire S is now out, running gingerbread with sense, is there any chance we might see a Gingerbread/sense rom for the normal Desire soon?
It seems to be possible to port rom's from the Desire HD, although I never understood what the advantage of that would be.

Read the rules, the 1st one is SEARCH BEFORE POSTING.
Not only has this been discussed, but there already are such ports, 2 or 3 to be more specific. Go find them yourself, that's what the search button is for.
To add to the story, the official Desire GB will come out in a week or two,so why bother with AceS rom's anyway...they're rubbish.
hi all,
just wondering ....
which phone will you be picking up to replace your desire?
the desire has been the ?best? supported android phone during the days of eclair and froyo, then gingerbread (not enough resources to run the phone??? -wrong) and now ICS (i've been running sandvolds ICS beta for a month and it rocks, so smooth but now definately limited by hardware (NFC, no HWA support etc)).
However, times change and no piece of technology can last forever.
Which android phone will take over from the desire in being the next best option? WHich one has the most dev support, which one has the best hardware.
I know thousands of people will be nearing the end of their contract for their Desire. What will you pick up and why?
Well according to this other thread here, there is still no decent replacement for Desire so there.

damn,
you got me.
the desire is the only phone i will use for the rest of my life.
...could be worse i guess

It looks Sony is trying to turn things around with their smartphone lineup this year. But I'm not yet convinced but being a Sony Ericsson fan before I hope they would play it good this time.
I am also thinking my next phone will be the Sony Experia S I have been reading good things about it. Sony also seems to allow the bootloaders to be unlocked with out issue nowadays so hopefully there will be some nice custom ROMs. Just can't decide on the color white or black...

As in terms of rom development.
You could take the Desire HD, with the upcoming announcement of ICS coming to that one and the Desire S.
(I would take the Desire HD, when my Desire is up for replacement)
Also by taking several looks at the rom development section of the DHD.
I think it wouldn't be a bad choice to go with.
As in a completely new phone, with hopefully a good rom development, i would wait for the SGS III
Seeing all the negative posts, am I making the right move? Is the Galaxy S3 really going to be that much better?
Would anyone recommend rooting the One X and using Cyanogen from the start?
I don't think that it will be much better than the One X.I've read enough forums and i saw that the SII had his share of problems when it was launched,so,i don't think that the SIII won't have any problems.
This phone does not have any issues, that stop it from working. I made the same move from desire to one x (my desire was on the verge of self destruct) and love it. I dont think the SIII will be necessarily any better, I have also found htc devices have a great bunch of devs working on them. Therefore those guys can fix most of any software issues

Yeah, most of them are software issues which can be fixed,if not by HTC by the awsome dev's that are here on XDA.
Well, I'm glad I made the switch to the HTC One X. It rules!
