thnx..bt can u plz tell me wat is custom mtd, a2sd??
Mtd partition is basically changing the size of your system and cache partition freeing up a bit more space for apps and a2sd is a script that moves apps and data to an ext partition on your SD card instead of using the phone memory, both need to be setup by you so as you don't know what they are don't worry you most likely aren't using them.

Hi everyone i rooted my phone last night for the first time with LeeDroid, all that seemeed to happen was that it went back to the way i got the phone in the first place
I dont have Market, and if im honest i have no idea what to do
Can anyone help at all please ?
Thanks
Phil
Would i be better just downloading the 2.4 rom and trying that ?
How will i know that the ROM is installed correctly as like i said before it just seems like a new phone i got straight out the box ?
thanks
When you flashed the ROM did you do a full wipe? and Dalvik Cache too?

Honest answer , dont know
i think i rooted it correctly using Revoked, or it appeared like it did
in the software info on the phone it has this which to me means nothing but to someone it will
android 2.2
kernel version
2.6.32.15_leedroid_2.3 [email protected] # 1
software number
LeeDroid_V2.3d
Can you help ? thanks
That is a successful flash mate by the looks of it. Of course you lose all apps and settings after flash, and as far as I know leedroid is a sense Rom, so it looks very similar to what you got out of the box, but now you can mod it and flash different kernels and scripts, like data2ext.
Oh, and regarding market, just search for market apk and install it the way you'd install any app.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
LeeDroid looks and feels like a stock rom but with added extra bits, and speed.
you can overclock or underclock with setcpu run rooted apps.
the good thing about LeeDroid is that it looks familiar so it's a good starter rom to play about with. if you want something other than sense try a Miui rom or Redux.
Ive got 2.4 now but i have 2 issues
1. the market force closes when i select an app
2. when adding the htc people widget it lists no people in where they usually
Thanks
Now my SD card is saying Mounted Read only ?
any ideas ?
did you make an ext partition and a full wipe?
I don 't have any issues with this rom
Yes and i just tried to go back to delete and redo a new partition but its not showing only my pc is ???
i just reset it and now im getting the leedroid background i wasnt getting before , ive had to setup everything back from the beginning , facebook passwords etc
market is now working but im still getting the mounted read ony error
Either corrupt card or bad partitioning. Just partition it in recovery and search for ext align tool on Baadnewz blog. Google is your friend.
If partitioning doesn't help, try different card.

ok sorted that last issue but how will i know if ive partitioned the sd card correctly ?
ive got a 16gb one and it says total space 13.75 & available space 13.47gb
and on the internal it only says 129mb
why is this ?
What was the fix for the last issue? If you don't provide full info we won't know where it could have fine wrong.
Sent from InsertCoin 2.0.1
tinky i partitioned it as you said in recovery but then i couldnt get past the loading screen with the joker on it aftwerwards
So i went back into recovery and i had to do a restore that was the only way i got it working and the memory card issue also vanished
Now its working properly should i backup my current ROM in ROM manager ?
what else do i need to do to make sure i dont **** it up in future ?
Also how will i know if ive partitioned the sd card correctly ?
ive got a 16gb one and it says total space 13.75 & available space 13.46gb
and on the internal it only says 116mb
How much space you assigned to ext? Also, not all roms support ext4, so if you did use align tool, then quite possibly that your Rom just can't see ext partition. Solution, partition again but this time don't use align tool which will convert any ext partition to ext4.
Regarding not loading after partitioning that is sort of expected, restore done the trick for you. Regarding not getting into this situation again, once you get it right just use recovery to do nandroid and ext backup, and keep it safely on pc, in case you need to change SD card. Then you just partition new card and do restore.

Anyone having issues on the latest Leedroid 2.4 with apps that have been updgraded from in-app billing?
Have one app (quota) which is now disabled due to the fact that the upgrade is now in progress whereas it worked fine on 2.3d.
The app dev suspects it is ROM and market related as other stock ROM users haven't had the same issue.
hi all, plz take it steady!
iv a htc desire, iv used revoke in the past and had a custom rom installed which i was happy with. recently i had a problem, to cut the story short i wiped the memory card of all its contents, including any backups.
the phone itself is always telling me its low on memory altho i dont have alot installed at all.
i have leedriod 3.0 installed at the moment but yet again, i get low space warnings and what is on the phone is on the memory card using app2sd.
basically i just want the memory back to its max available and the standard rom reinstalled, but where do i get it from, iv looked on the thread and i was unsure which one to download.
baseband is 32.48.00.32u 5.11.05.14
i dont believe i have a backup of the original
any help and steps would be gratefull

If you say you don't have a lot installed, then are you sure app2sd is working? Also before flashing Leedroid did you do a full wipe of your phone?
hi thanx for the reply, yes im sure app2 sd is working, any app i have installed is on the sd card yet available space on the phone itself is14.88 mb.
as for the question regarding did i do a full wipe before leedriod was installed...i dont really know if i did a full wipe or not. i just need some help to get as much space as possible back and the standard rom reinstalled if thats possible
You need a ext partition on the sd card to get the "real" a2sd working. If you don't want to make one flash a noa2sd rom.

Hii everyone.
I have some questions regarding CM7 [Nightly Builds] right now i m using CM7 Stable (7.0.03) and want to upgrade to CM7 nightly.
But before doing that i want to know
Firstly, the difference between the both?
Secondly, will it be flashed through the same way as i hv flashed stable CM7?
Third, i m using CWM 4 so will it require to upgrade to 5 to flash nightly?
Four, how is the camera quality in nightly becoz i hv found a worst cam experience in CM7 stable yesterday?
Sorry for my english. I wanted to know all these things so i hv putted my queries here.
Hope this might help more newbies like me.
Thnx
1: There are many changes which go into everyone of the nightlies, so you will have newer features, and, maybe, newer bugs. But, you can read the last few pages of the CM Nightlies thread to get info on any bug which members may be facing. Nightly changelogs can be found here:
http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=buzz
2: Yes, it will be flashed in the same way.
3: No, CWM4 will work perfectly.
4: Its pretty much the same across all AOSP ROM's. The only thing that is new is the Touch to Focus Function which is now implemented. Use Better Camera mod for CM7 here, which reduces the JPEG Compression applied on the images, giving potentially sharper images:

Register with Rom Manager

CM7 Nightly # 177
Hello ...Pardon my mistakes .. i am kinda beginner for Android .. ..
I just flashed CM Nightly 177 .. works great .. its fast ... but i am facing problems if anyone can help me with this :
1- after installing ZIP of CM i installed the zip "gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip" for google apps. it worked for me with my last CM7 based ROM "High Voltage 1.2" .. but not working here .. i am unable to get Market and Maps .. which Google apps zip i should install with this nightly... ?
2- i was using A2SDGUI with my previous ROM and for that i flashed Darktremor script "dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip" . but when i use the same script for CM 177, my phone reboots and never seems to complete the boot process "stuck on HTC logo" ... it is obvious that the problem is creating by that script.. but i want to know that ...am i missing something here ??
Or a dumb question ... does it makes any difference to move the apps to SD ??... ?? LOL ... or should i leave it and enjoy rest of the features ??
i will hit the thanks button for sure...
Have you tried popping the battery out when stuck at the HTC screen then rebooting, I'm not sure what causes it but it sometimes happens to me when rebooting From recovery?
I think dta2sd beta 4 is buggy I had problems too, just switch back to beta 3 and it should work fine. Apps will be more stable when running from the internal memory but when I was using a2sd I didn't really notice the difference except a quarter of my miserably small 2gb SD card had gone for the partition :/

hi this is my help, maybe others say different but.......
1. after flashing cm177 flash the gapps too before reboot. i use the same gapps as this on 177 so its fine.
2.i had probs with beta so use Version 2.7.5.2-1.
* personal preferences, i say its worth having the option to move my large memory apps to sd but have tried with and without and cos im a bit of a memory junkie i prefer to use apps on sd.
basic but hope it helps. regards slymobi.

Well .. yes i did popped out the battery and tried to boot.. after couple of failures .. it did ..but was rebooting automatically...
so i flashed the ROM again .. wiping everything .. even formatted the SD and made partitions again..
this time it failed boot only first time .. and i did that battery popping thing (watched the HTC logo for about 15 minutes )... then uptil now its fine with the same beta 4 script .. ... lets see how long it goes ...
but still i am not getting google apps .... ...

Yup ... i did so with flashing the Gapps just after the ROM before first reboot .. if it is working for you then it will work for me .. i will flash gapps again .. ..
i hope if something will not go wrong with that darktremor beta4 script ... i will use the version "2.7.5.2-1" ... ... beta is working for me till now after reflashing the ROM ... ... just for a note .. i wiped everything .. even re-partitioned SD too ..
so i made s-off and installed clockwork recovery touch and then i installed ISC 4.0.3.
but problem is when people call me i cant receive calls. when friends complained i tried and i just hangs up by it self. i dont even get notification and person who is calling me just hears hang up sound. not even one ring.
dose anyone has same problem and what should i do?
second problem is with memory.
i made partitions with clockwork recovery and installed it with terminal but when i try to install any app i get insufficient storage error even so in titanuim backup everything is more then free
have any advice what to do?
please. it kinda urgent!
The ics roms are beta as far as I know, so you could be having problems with a specific Rom. Would be good to ask in that thread.
As for memory, are you sure you made a proper ext partition when you installed a Rom and looking at internal storage, not just as storage?

well since my mobile stopped working cos rom crashed (miui) i had to do everything from the beginning. so i wiped everything and made partition with recovery so i dont think i made mistake while partitioning.
as far as looking which storage... well sd card is empty and i dont have any apps installed (only those which come with rom) so trust me... it's all empty. i made screenshots but i cant post outside links yet.
Switch your ROM
ICS ROMs are experimental, if you want your phone to be every day phone better switch to AOSP Built ROM's like CM7, they are more reliable then anyother ROM available.
I too have tried dozen of ROM's the stablest of them are those who don't use EXT partition of SD card and thus they should be your first choice if you want stability,
I would suggest - CyanogenMod 7.1
I see. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you did anything wrong, but the ics roms are beta stage. I have only been able to get the tiny ics Rom to boot and it was too laggy to try to call. The one for all hboot did not work too. As above, cyanogen is a good option for close to stock android. Theres also roms that are skinned to look like ics that work super fast. Hope you solve your problem of not being able to call, this is a phone afterall lol

thx guys!!
i will try cm7.1 then.
cos after whole week of trying to get it work i just dont have enough will to continue. and i really need my phone working asap
SOLVED.
all i had to do is partition my ext3 to ext4
lol. well i also changed recovery from clockworkmod touch to amon ra.
and with amon ra i wiped everything and formated ext. i also used smaller ext. from 2048 to 700 and something.
then i partition from ext3 to ext4 and installed isc 4.0.4. and now everything is working.
as for calls... will see if it happens again.
Hi guys,
I was succesful a couple of days ago in rooting the Desire and then playing around.
I went for MildWild v4.3 just bcause a lot of pepole like it and state is stable and fast. Good starting point for a noob I guess.
I've got some questions I wasn't able to find the answer out in the forums: could you please address me to the right place ?
1. I'm currently using data++ partition table. It seems to be working. Any known issue ? Did I made the right or wrong choice ? A bit unsure of 5 Mb of cache.
2. Where may I find clarifications how MildWild is supposed to manage applications using sd-ext ? The system mounts the external storage, I just want to verify it is properly used.
Thank you in advance
go to settings/applications then preferred install location
then in applications go to development and check sd-ext then reboot.

1. fits better into cm7r2 hboot as you waste less space this way. don't worry about the 5MB cache.
2. as stated above. instructions are also in the first post of the rom thread.

1. I tried before the oxygen one: system partition was too little (90 Mb), then I stayed preservative since I didn't know how much was necessary.
Can I flash the table now avoiding re-install the rom after ?
2. Did it at once on first boot.
Just wondering whereas it's moving as maxium amount as possible into sd-ext. How can it be verified ?
Thanks

To change hboot I would recommend nandroid backup 1st, then flash cm7r2, boot back into recovery and restore.
I always use 'diskusage' app to check how all partitions are being used

Well.. at the end it is Linux.
Would be possible in the future to simply resize the partitions ?
Thank you for the tips.
Up today I'm not running out of memory. Then I stay and see how this rom is performing. Maybe I shall change and the table could be "wrong" again ..
I'm not a person who's consuming memory hard. Before the switch the system had about 15 mb still free in the nand.. I installed almost everything I needed. So I reckon the gain I obtained is enough for a long time.
The flashlight isnt working for me. Neither the app, nor the notification bar Button. Anybody else with this Problem?

My Mildwild Desire has one nasty habit. Sometimes when data signal is very weak, I get a black screen of death. The only thing that seems to work is pull out the battery. I have seen reports of this issue, but no solutions yet. I tried different radio, with and without ext-4, different ROM (bare Oxygen 2.3.2), different hboot, different kernel, all without success. Any suggestions? Would it make sense to replace the microSD card?

mildwild oxigen headset / headphone problem
Hi,
I was wondering if somebody could help me... I have installed the MildWild V4.3 final, based on Oxigen 2.3.2 and my headset stopped working.
It was working for a day or two, then it stopped transmitting my voice...I have tried it with 4 different headsets and the result is the same I can hear the other side perfectly but the other end not... Sometimes I can hear myself in my ears, its like the phone transmits my voice to my earplug instead of the other phone, if you see what I mean. In the car I have jack connector to connect it to the car speakers and normally it is using the phone`s microphone, but again this wont work somehow...
I have tried flashing the Mildwild V5, CM version, before this, but it didn1t work at all.
Any ideas how to solve this?
Thanks,
