If you don't have a Kasier\Tilt then can't go wrong for £150, just been checking ebay.com and many in your price range, not much else with such a great ammount of ROMs and good spec

I just "upgraded" from the regular dash to the "Black" dash (I really just purchased a black dash from ebay and swapped the case with my dash so I wouldn't have to reinstall and setup everything all over again).
I have to say, the "black" dash just looks so much more hi-tech then my original "steel" faceplate one

that is so FAIL... the chrome faceplate is 100x better. and really... i think it'd be easier to reflash and install than swap cases. I'm guessing you don't save everything on a sim card and backup your registry. you should try it... really...
just get a mytouch 3g with the promo code. 99 bucks that means you got 51 for a nice case and a large pizza for dinner

Im waiting for the release of the motorola cliq next month. Its android, nice keyboard with no chin, and the touchscreen supports multiple touch (unlike g1).

Multi-touch is enabled by the OS, not the hardware. The new version of Android that will be on the Cliq will also be available for the G1 and MyTouch. Word is that multi-touch is already built into Cupcake it is just turned off by default.

Not true, some screens support it better than others.
The g1 has an older screen that althought it does work, it doesnt work say as good as the my touch.
But the mytouch doesnt have a keybaord.

Multi touch works just as good on my g1 as it does mytouch. the cliq is going to be running donut most likely instead of cupcake but cyanogen's mod has close to a third of the donut's tree already working and it won't be long till we see a prerelease of donut on the g1 and mytouch like we've seen 6.5 here on the excalibur forum. And the mytouch is fail from a lack of keyboard. The only decent way to type is to turn if sideways and the keyboard still doesn't stand up the samsungs memoir and beholds. I swear if those phones had android id call the g1 a fluke in a heartbeat

So.. webOS.. can't be installed on the epic, or any other Android device.. I know that..
But I miss it.. and if I had a TouchPad I probably wouldn't miss it as much.. but they're impossible to get for their retail price...
So the question I ask.. how about a launcher.. that mimics it's actions? Not itchingthumb.. that thing is horrible..
But a straight up Launcher replacement app that acts like webOS.. but actually has decent performance. With the launcher button and a couple of short cuts on the bottom bar.. and pressing home brings you to a view of all your open apps.. and flicking up closes them!
Also, I'm sure there would need to be some alterations done to Android's multitasking system.
Anyone think it's possible?

Too many hardware issues.. I had one for a year.. Got it replaced 7 times. Was banking on the Pre 3.. but that's not happening, so trying to get my Epic to last me til webOS gets licensed.

Like your description for the phone, i believe everybody here in the form feels like you do. If the evo 4g had such a huge amount of developers around it, I can only imagine the amount of love this phone will get.

The good thing is that the GSII has been out for a few months, and has plenty of development. I wonder if the base stock ROM is similar.
Oh yeah...this device is just, really what Android should be. It's borders on g'damned religious epiphany.
Samsung definitely did it right with the Galaxy S2.

Finally! But its nothing like that 3D POS got. I loved the Evo 4G but IMO the NS4G and this new beauty have been the best phones since it...although the Photon wasn't bad at all but returned it before my 30 days for the S2.
Any word on CM for this thing?

I think I saw about the same, 3-5 commercials during games...and like 3-5 dozen J-Lo Fiat commercials. But I digress.
I think they're not over advertising because supplies/distribution are really low right now. I know the Sprint store we got our phones from only had 14 in-store on Friday (they had 5 on Tuesday when I reserved 2, and then got another 9 in Friday morning), and were down to 3 when my wife and I picked ours up 2-hours before close. The Best Buy across the parking lot only got in 2 for Friday, and no accessories at all.
I really suspect that they are probably saving some revenue for a big push with the new iphone. I love my epic touch but I think the the new Iphone will be the perfect phone for my girl. Way off topic though. I agree OP I am in love with this phone too. My day off today my girl went out and I stayed home all day messing with my new toy.
I'm headover heels in love too!....(cept...I'll probably betray her when Nexus Prime is onveiled...shhhh)
For some reason I hate the Epic name attached to it. I know its Sprints way of putting there label on it but it sucks IMO. Before it came out and I would go to the Shack or Bestbuy to ask if they would have it they would say either what?..or yes its right here and lead me to the Epic 4G. Excuse me if this has been posted before or your offended...I have been at a birthday party and I have Vodka in me...SGII!!!

I was so excited about the hardware and how much Samsung has changed (especially the circumstances of the development of this hardware/software versus the original) that I didn't even think about it...
...but when someone asks me what my new phone is I just flip the back to them and tell them "Galaxy s2", not like saying "Sprint's Samsung Galaxy S-II Epic Touch 4G" would mean any more to them.

Agreed. Granted this phone is actually rather epic in nature. The last Epic didn't seem so, well epic... This one is epic out of the box and we've got an exciting development community already that I'm sure will be epic, for various reasons.
That said, I've got my dongle jig on the way, priority shipping....which costs nearly 4 times more than the jig, lol...

I guess I may have to invest in this. The only Sprint Samsung phone I have had was the Nexus and I really liked the phone. Camera was good..fast and actually for SD quality video it was very good. Never had a problem with it.

Its not Galaxy name that bothers me it the whole Epic 4g Touch..The original Epic was a touch..it was 4g..like I said earlier in my post, I don't like the name but when you been to a birthday party and been drinking vodka...seems thing are worse than they probably are...
Beats being called "within" which it almost did.
Nothing on the phone outside or inside mentions epic touch so its a galaxy s2 imo

I hate the name as well.. not as much as hated within... so it was an improvement. This phone is nothing like the epic. Touch screen phone with sg1 specs was epic compared to the other carriers.
This new epic is lacking that. I think they will use the epic like Verizon uses droid.

Well with Verizon they had to pay Lucas to use that name, so I'd milk it for every penny too if I were Verizon. Also I understand the concept of brand recognition by keeping "Epic", but still Epic 4g Touch is a horrible name.
I either call mine Galaxy S2 (since as others have pointed out its freaking emblazened on the back), or "Enterprise D" as its a huge Galaxy-class that looks surprising thin from the side.
What the hell is wrong with people, who cares. This is the only phone that has like twenty thousand names, you can literally call it so many things and pple know what you're talking about. You can use it's absolutely full name and called it, Sprint's Samsung Epic 4g Touch, call it the Galaxy S II, call it the ET4G, call it the hottest phone in the motherfuckin world right now abbriviated to hpmfwrn. I call it GS II or ET4G. What is important tho is the only case in the world where the Exynos processor meets a 4.52 inch screen. The only instance in the world where that happens. The ET4G is pure perfection. Call it pure perfection if you want.

Well, yes there is a big difference, one being no disgusting physical keyboard. Though if you need a features list of the phone, google can help you there. Though if on touch wiz, I personally like the smart stay feature, and the overall size and feel of the phone.

Just a FYI there is no keyboard on the touch hence the name touch. The OG is just a Epic 4G which I just came from.

Yeah when they named the GS2 The Epic touch we got flooded in the OG forum was confusing for everyone except the ones that had the keyboard LOL
