No,
IOS, closed source = No ports because it's illegal
Android, open source = Ports everywhere
Now ask if we can port windows phone 7 to the play

Nope, even if it were possible, you'd have to up the standards since iOS aspect ratio isn't good enough.

I'm pretty sure macOS is closed source too...same as windows but you see windows on macs all the time that's because as an above poster said people don't care...why do you think we don't have any WP ports to androids? Because its illegal....
Also why would you want iOS its so boring and basic...and what about iTunes what's it gunna do when you plug in your play? Blow up because its not an idevice?

You could install a ROM like iPlay (I think that's the name) to give the the look and feel of iOS
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

if we were able to install ios on our phone(and we are not able to do that. its imposible) there were no apps for youre device because of the resolution . some thing like what happened to iphone 5 in first months will happen to youre devices
ios is ****ty and buggy operating system
why do you need it when we have android?

I saw an ios rom on youtube but but its cm7 based.

i think thats joy os or iplay
they are using style of ios only(that ****y style i mean)
everything is worst in ios. i cant work with it even for 1 min
ios 7 is worst of them. it is windowsphone+android+ ****y closed source os and ugly icons and apps.

Nope not possible and nothing woukd work annnndd it's illegal that prolly why it hasn't been done?

i didnt understand you
sorry for my bad english
but if you are talking about why we cant start a project to port ios this is the answer
first of all all apps wont work because ios apps can only work on 1 unstandard resoulotion Resolution of iphones so they dont work on other devices
second ios is closed source and apple even closed all projects that they where working on ios emulator for non osx pc and laptops. even closed projects for making faster emulators(if you sreach you find some project but all of that are without download links)
third ios apps are made only for chips that are used in iphone so they dont work on other phones
we dont need ios when we have the best operating system. why do we need that os when we have android?
what does it have that android doesn't have?

Well it has lots of accessories and apps because there's only one phone while android has more choice and lots of different types so harder to support but because its open source its awesome
Sent from my Xperia Play (r800x)

we have the useful accessories for android phones. even the game controllers were made for android for the first time.
we have wireless charges in new android phones(or even we can make it for other phones easily)
and for the programming of apps and games its not that much hard(even its easier than ios)
for building apps for ios you should make the app for 3 unstandard Resolution(2 if you dont support tablets) but for android you have to optimize it for 4 differnet dpi's.then it will support all the android devices
for games you need to optimize them for 4 different gpu that this things is harder than ios devices
but in android you can build apps with any thing but in ios you can only build them with xcode
in android you can use 2 different programming languages but in ios you can only build apps with c

I agree iTunes store is terrible compared to gplay

[Q] WP7 Android dual boot Sony Ericsson Arc

Ok. To my understanding the problem with running WP7 on any Sony Ericsson phone used to be the hardware not being able to handle the software. But, what about now? I compared the Sony Ericsson Arc S, and the Ion too the Nokia Lumia 7100, and the specs are near identical. The difference being something minuscule like direct uploads to YouTube. So I want to know if it's possible to put Mango on a Sony Ericsson, because I really like the WP7 interface, and even more so Zune, but I just hate the phones that Microsoft is putting out. I'm about 95% sure this is possible, but I would appreciate if someone could tell me how this can be done.
Hardware us good enough.
BUT the kernel etc is for Android, so WindowsPhone won't run.
Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk
Windows is not an open source OS! So it is not possible to port it for Arc or any other model. However, dual boot may be possible on Lumia 800.
cool
appreciate the info
And if you want the interface use these:
The Winphone 7 lookalike launcher
Windows Phone 7 / Zune themed media player for Android OS
But it does run on the HTC HD2.
Also Android is better imo

[Q] Dualboot?

Is it possible to have a Galaxy nexus and dualboot it with windows 7.5?
Thanks
I'm not going to say anything is impossible... but no. Not easily at least.
Even if you could get it on there drivers would probably be a big issue. It would take a lot of development to get things working properly. You'd have a lot of obstacles to overcome as well such as the lack of physical buttons.
Good luck

Nope.
Even if you somehow got it running it would still be illegal.
And to even try you would need the source code.
It simply won't happen.

WP7 is closed source. Not gonna happen.
Buy a Windows Phone
And I am willing to be op wants this just so he can show his friends and the only effort put into it was getting on the internet. Drivers, ram, code, and development would be only the smallest of obstacles if downloading and flashing it were your goals. The windows phone can be had over there.

I'll wait for windows 8. Windows phone 7 is just a temporary solution from microsoft to stop apple and android from dominating the market. No doubt it is decent but it's still in its infancy and doesn't have a lot of apps.

yeah well they tried and failed. even the director of wp7 developtment admitted defeat a few months ago . Personally I think it is a very decent platform. I really like its elagant user interface but if I just wanted ui I would've stayed with ios.
The reason wp7 didn't take off was because it was too late and there was no demand for it, not because it sucked.
I have dual boot Mango and ICS on my HD2.
Believe me, WP7.5 has a beautiful layout and the best keyboard, but besides that it's way inferior when compared to Android and iOS. Very lame browser and the apps have less options. It's fun to play with for a day, but more than that you'll get really frustrated.

Adding to what he said, since the hd2 already had windows on it it allowed It to be easier to port it onto, I think test builds where also made for it too. And since android is open source it was easy to port over( not really but easy for a dev). You'd have better luck buying a windows phone and dual booting that with android

There might be some themes for this too, idk.

OOO you are totally right, I had a nokia x6 16gb before the Gio and Iv wasent satisfied with it, what goog is it to have a good camera or stereo speakers if there isen't any social suport if the ram is to bad managed and if the whole OS is not finger friendly...anyway windows phones by HTC and Nokia have nicley colored bodyes but with android it's all about the colores inside.....So pleace be happy with the android look, it's the best in the world
The symbian story is kinda funny, look it up on Wikipedia.
When nokia bosses were discussing to stop symbian dev(cuz it failed so badly), all developers quit themselves and got hired by one of nokia concurrents!
What a fail right?

I would just say, Microsoft is not experienced in doing such things. A little patience is required and Microsoft (maybe) will be also a developer of good phone soft. But until then, nothing will be better than android on the phones
But if you want to use it though: With a little experience of using mods and the connected apps, you will get an interface looking as nice as WP 8s.
But I can tell you: To get used to it is very difficult. I removed all the stuff, let's say a week after

No, its a heavily modified fork of the Android Open Source Project(Android 4.1), with all the google stuff replaced with microsoft services.
Depends on what you mean with real Android, but it's based on android open source project so yeah i call it "real" Android but it's modified as f*ck so it doesn't look like Android at all but from beginning it is pure Android.

You can say that but Nokia heavily modified the AOSP and gave it a Windows + Asha UI and support for all kinds of APK's which can be installed from Third Party Apps like Blackmart and also Nokia is partnering with the store.Yandex.com (just like Play store) which has lakhs of Android apps available for download to it's Nokia X users.
Yesterday a Dev called Kashamalaga posted a guide to install full working GAPPS on Nokia X which allows you to have all Google Play services (including Play Store) on Nokia X.

Using 4.1 shows that Nokia was working on this for a long time now, maybe from early 2013 onwards. Why they didn't update to 4.3 or 4.4 i dont know. 4.4 would be a much better option for the X as it is more optimized for low-spec phones.

Android has no "Google stuff" to be replaced. Android IS NOT GOOGLE. Google ADDS that to Android, and requires anyone releasing Android to pay a licensing fee to add Google Play Services.
It is in fact based on Qualcomm's reference design platform. QRD resources are still in the ROM.
