I think I can use a little help.
I tried to update my SGS from I9000XXJF3 to I9000XXJF7.
I followed the steps with Odin etc etc....bu now my device does not reboot anymore! It only shows a white screen with blue letters "AT&T WORLD PHONE".
I can not get the device in download mode or recovery mode anymore. When I'm pushing volume down + home + on/off button, it shows the same white screen.
What can I do now? I hope I didn't brick the device....
Can't even get into the menus to flash? Wow.. I don't think you can fix that.
Nope... this sucks big time! Pff I cant stand it anymore...i go to take a sleep now. Tomorrow i try again, but i dont feel like it is going to work!
I tried everything, volume up + home + on/off button = White screen
volume down + home + on/off button = White screen..

AT&T...
Mate, did you flash Captivate with I9000 firmware? They are, kind of, like 2 different phones...
You can use I9000 firmware, but only if you use standard modem file (that from what I briefly read, I can be completely wrong).

Did you remove the battery and force a fresh boot into download mode?
And yeah. Are you sure you don't have a captivate and not a SGS i9000?
Remove the battery which might force a reset of the device.
Once you put the battery back in see if you can get into Download Mode again then go through the reflash firmware again. Make sure your using the correct files.

Beat me to it.
I have the same problem, I tried to get the phone into download or recovery mode, but no success, it switches between AT&T white screen and black screen all the time...I'm trying since last night, this is frustrating...
Yes, exactly the same problem with my i9000. When I try to enter in donwnload mode I have a white screen with a blue text "AT&T world phone" and it is blincking.
Can't enter in download mode, can't flash new ROM witk Kies......I can do nothing...
Can anyone help me please? There is any chance to recover my phone back?
Thank you very much.
My e-mail is "[email protected]"
Yes, after hours and hours of studing the problem I can confirm:
By mistake, I was using Odin for Captivate , on trying to bring back to life my i9000.
Now, what can I do? There is any chance to get the phone in to the download mode?
Thank you very much for your time and patience...
OK you used the wrong ODIN version... but I thought ODIN doesn't touch the bootloader? So if this is also correct for the captivate version of ODIN, I think there is still hope.
Maybe you can find something useful in the captivate forum.

Download the correct ODIN, PIT and Firmware. Set them up on your computer.
Remove the battery, SIM and SDCard from your phone. Wait a few seconds.
Re-insert your Battery only.
Put the phone into Download Mode - volume down + home + on/off button
You might need to try this a few times I don't always get it first time.
Connect the phone to your computer by USB and confirm ODIN see's it.
Then flash the firmware again.
Wait for reboot then switch off and re-insert your SIM, SDCard.
Should be right now. Fingers crossed for you.

yes i did, but the problem is that where i live there is no AT&T which their logo is flashing onto my phone screen.
they might shoot me in the head.
I made this short video to show the problem
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8AIvalzBvY
Yes, this is our problem.
Our mistake is that we don't look for correct Odin3 flash tool, and we used Odin3 for Captivate.
I have try in Captivate topic maybe find something usefull, but nothing. They us a light different method to get in download mode, but it doesn't work on my phone.
Always I get the same white screen.
I really don't know if the battery is charging in this white screen.
I'm pretty sure I made a rookie mistake and I'm facing the conscience. Last night I was need of rooting my phone (at&t galaxy note II i317) using Kongo Android to get superUS and everything was going fine, I still had all my stuff, service and everything, so I decided to add a custom ROM (cm-10.1.3-tOlteatt), wiped everything and I ended up in a bad situation, I forgot to back up my phone so I lost all of my contacts, lost my service provider so I have no signal, and can't download any apps because I don't have play store. . . If anyone knows to way to help solve this PLEASE HELP ME. . . all I want to do now is find a way to uninstall all this rooted stuff and go back to my regular functioning galaxy s note II

Thanks for the recommendation but I've previously tried the method, but my phone always failed to download (even when it wasnt rooted) would u have any other way of solving it without having to use odin. . . my phone is currently stuck in recovery mode so any help trying to get out of it would be helpful. .thank you for your time helping me solve my issue
Put the correct ROM on your external sd card with a PC adaptor. Install the card, boot into recovery, wipe system and data, then install the correct ROM. Boot, let rhe phone settle in for a few minutes, connect to wifi, or check if the correct ROM has the at&t APN settings.

Ranger is correct, try doing what he suggested.
But not really understanding what you have tried from your post.....
Which method, and what does fail to download?
Do you mean fail to get into download mode, and you only can get into recovery?
Are you doing this to get to download mode?
Put your Note 2 in Download Mode
-First you will need to turn off your device.
-Once it’s off, you need to press this button combination: volume down, power button and home button.
-Keep them pressed until the download mode shows up.
-Once you’re there, you will be required to press volume up to enter the download mode or volume down to cancel and reboot the device.
Obviously you want to press the volume up. Now you are ready to ODIN flash.

i would have tried ODIN for this situation but everytime i do. It says "FAILED" how would you suggest i fix this so that my phone can use ODIN. I was going from cyanogenMod to a custom ROM, but i assume i didnt flash the old ROM and now i kinda stuck in a bootloop like it'll show the samsung intro then show the customROM emblem stays there. I've left it in that state for a whole night and it didnt change (still showing the custom ROM emblem) the only thing i can do is enter TWRP v2.6.3.1 and access my external SD.

Sorry bout that. . just tried to connect my phone to ODIN in ODIN MODE. I'll update with what happened.
Just got done trying to flash with ODIN, and it got the part where it starts to install but 4 mins. in my device was removed. I was using the PDA from sammobile.com, and now my phone is saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." i know it might be as simple as actually doing what it says but Kies will not recognize my At&t samsung galaxy note II. What would u suggest to let my laptop recognize my device??

If you could suggest away to get my stock program and upgrade to jellybean 4.3. I had fun with the rooted life but i make the worst mistakes.
PS. i found it to be alot easier using the other tar. in the firmware u suggested me to use. At least for At&t Samsung Galaxy Note II

So i just flashed my at&t Samsung galaxy note II with jellybean 4.1.1 using Odin ( ATT_I317UCAMA4_I317ATTAMA4) and it was going on with everything working. Then i tried to update to jellybean 4.3 after it got done installing it rebooted, and what do u know, i'm stuck in boot loop the Samsung galaxy note 2 logo, and cant access recovery mode. Also I tried the original firmware that used repeatedly, would that hurt the system. Would there be any firmwares suggested to use.

Not a problem. Just giving back from all the help I've received over the years,
Hi All!
I've checked all similar threads but I haven't found any solution to my problem, hence this post.
I was trying to root Samsung Note 2 and install Cyanogenmod but rooting failed
The current problem:
1. Samsung Note 2 has ended up in a bootloop after failed rooting
2. I can't boot the phone in the Recovery Mode
3. The USB Debugging Mode was not activated
4. I can't turn on the phone
Description:
I was trying to root my friend's Samsung Note 2 using the following method from this website http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291827
- Download and unzip the CF-Auto-Root-....zip file (see posts below this one)
- If you end up with a recovery.img and cache.img file, you've extracted twice. You need to end up with a .tar.md5 file - don't extract that one
- (USB) Disconnect your phone from your computer
- Start Odin3-vX.X.exe
- Click the PDA button, and select CF-Auto-Root-....tar.md5
- Put your phone in download mode (turn off phone, then hold VolDown+Home+Power to boot - if it asks you to press a button to continue, press the listed button, or run adb reboot download command)
- (USB) Connect the phone to your computer
- Make sure Repartition is NOT checked
- Click the Start button
- Wait for Android to boot
- Done (if it took you more than 30 seconds, you need practise!)

The problem is that by mistake I used a wrong CF-Auto-Root... file and instead of this file CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip which was designed for Samsung Note 2 I used a file which I was using before for my own phone (Samsung Galaxy S4) CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.zip
Result 1: The rooting process got frozen and I had to disconnect the USB cable connecting the phone with the computer.
Result 2: Black screen, I couldn't boot the phone.
Next, I used the same rooting method but with the correct CF-Auto-Root... file.
Result 3: Bootloop. The phone boots up when I press the power button but when I see the first screen with a white "Samsung Note 2" on a black background, the phone reboots again and the process repeats itself for ever.
Result 4: I can't boot the phone in recovery mode. When I press the Volume Up+Power+Home buttons, the phone reboots and keeps rebooting instead of going into recovery mode.
Result 5: The USB Debugging Mode was not activated before rooting. Since I can't turn on the phone I can't activate the mode now. All solutions to my problem that I've seen require having USB Debugging Mode activated.
Could anyone help me and suggest what to do, please?
I don't know much about how mobile phone works but I can follow instructions if I know what to do.
I rooted my own mobile phone and installed Cyanogenmod successfully. I wanted to do the same with my friend's phone who was fed up with bloated and slow manufacturer's firmware.
I hope you can help me. Thank you.
I really don't know why so many users try to root before flashing a custom rom -> it is simply useless and as shown in this example dangerous, when a false root method or file is chosen.
You need:
1. Custom recovery, flash through ODIN, I think latest TWRP will do the job
2. Flash your desired custom rom through above recovery, (if needed: GApps also)
3. Flash SuperSu if needed (read in OP of that rom) done
If number 1 won't work, you got to flash firmware from sammobile first using ODIN
and then take steps 1, 2, 3

Thank you very much for your quick reply.
I've done everything as you advised me to and... it worked!
Firstly, I installed TWRP, I wiped all files on the phone, downloaded Cyanogenmod to external SD card, installed Cyanogenmod through TWRP and all done! I also installed the minimum version of Gapps and it's all I need.
Thank you SO much for your help. twdeim which

As I said, everything I mentioned before went fine but there is one problem. The system doesn't detect the network as if the SIM card wasn't inserted. I double checked everything and I have no idea what that is.
I installed CyanogenMod version 11-20140715-NIGHTLY-n7100 with android version4.4.4.
I would be very grateful for any suggestions.
Many thanks!

The problem originated from the fact that my IMEI got lost somewhere during failed rooting/flashing. I've flashed with the stock firmware which retrieved my IMEI and the phone connected to the network as usual. After the phone was brought back to the fully operational state, I used CyanogenMod installer for Mac and I successfully installed CM, and it works like a dream.
I hope it will help. Good luck!

Just copy of my posts in another thread as this one is more relevant to my problem I think:
Good afternoon gents and girls, I have a bit strange problem wonder if anyone can get a bit of light on it. My Mrs's GT-7100 one day was stuck on boot up screen. I thought is was corrupt tried to do factory reset. Didn't work out read about is decided to flash it with a different official ROM for that installed twrp-3.0.2-0-t03g.img.tar and was trying to do a lot of different things within TWRP mode. As I'm not familiar with flashing process I guess didn't do it properly BUT! While doing it all over sudden I realised that the phone is actually working while connected to external power it shows charge and goes upto 100% but as as soon as it disconnected from main power source it starts to reboot constantly again stuck at the same boot screen again, till reconnected to power source again, then goes in to fool boot and functions properly making and receiving phone calls. The charge shown on the battery drops from 100% to 4-7% in a matter of the boot up time which is say 5-10 seconds.
Tested by multimeter battery shows 4.32V. I can't test battery under load, but will endeavor to do so by a test light. I have a bit strange problem wonder if anyone can get a bit of light on it.
So any thoughts?
I suspect the battery is not the issue. I have 2 external banks which are holding the charge to keep running Galaxy 3 8.0 up to 2-3 hours in use. Both of them are 5.2V 1A and having GT-7100 connected to them doesn't help to boot up the phone. Olso 5V 0,5A charger of Bluebery either, only Samsung 2A charger gets the GT-7100 back to fanctioning mode. When phone is booted up it shows
The ROM Version it is N7100XXUFND3,

Hey guys,
So today, I got a notification saying to update to 5.1 for my T-Mobile Galaxy S6 Edge. There was a error so I plugged it into my computer and used the Smart Switch app they recommended to install the update to my phone. After Smart Switch downloaded the update and installed it onto my phone, my phone is now stuck at the first bootup screen where is just says "Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, powered by Android"!! I don't know what to do now....I tried downloading the official 5.0.2 ROM for T-Mobile and flashing it using Odin 10.6 but it gives me a NAND Write Start FAIL! every time...I've been reading up on this forum for a couple hours now but my eyes have completely tired out. Was hoping I could get some suggestions/insight on what I might do. I believe there is ONE option which is to type the model # + serial # into the Smart Switch program which factory resets my phone but I was hoping to avoid that since I forgot to back up my photos recently (stupid I know..) Anyways, any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

You need to look into finding the official Odin package (it is likely that only the 5.1.1, or "OF6" version will work now) for your device, and using Odin to restore your phone to the correct firmware version.
One of the places you an get it is from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/48252/G925TUVU2COF6_G925TTMB2COF6_TMB/
But there are alternatives/mirrors around here somewhere that might work better. Good luck.

Ouch, that doesn't sound good. Are you sure your device is the G925T ? To be absolutely certain, you can look on the back of the device, in fine print, it should show the model number (SM-G925T is technically the full model#).
Otherwise, there's some reports around here of this (or similar) problem when they've had their phone carrier-unlocked or otherwise have done anything with their IMEI stuffs in any fashion. I would browse through the forums here to see if there's a good solution. I'm not a good source for "that side of things."
Edit: You might look into this thread or, for another possible fix, this thread.
I can't vouch for the authenticity or safety of flashing anything but official stock firmware, but it sounds like the 2nd link is working for some.
Flash twice in download mode.
After first flash do not let phone reboot.
When phone starts to start up do button combination vol down, power & home button.

This is good advice. To elaborate, there's two ways to achieve this:
1) Uncheck the "Auto Reboot" option in Odin. It might be greyed out, in which case you can edit your .ini file to achieve the same. Once the stock package is completely finished flashing, you can manually reboot straight into download mode by holding down the buttons until it comes back on into download mode.
2) If you're quick enough, the "easier" way is to wait until the Odin flash is complete, and immediately upon its auto-reboot (goes to black screen on the device), hold down the buttons to force it into download mode.
And then, in either case, flash the package again. It should be taking a few minutes to flash - it's huge. Particularly the SYSTEM partition, which is over 3.5gb.

Just tried to flash it twice with Odin but it's still stuck at the boot screen :\
Hopefully one of the links you posted above will help! Will update back soon.

Well, the second link you posted in a previous post worked!! Thanks!!
Sadly, I wiped the data/factory reset once since it was suggested and I lost all my photos...(sigh) I imagine that there's no way of just getting those back?
Diskdigger, Google for free apk.
Or buy in playstore.

Google is very invasive with your system, the cloud storage that came pre-installed works great or Dropbox even better.
Pp.
Not sure what your getting at being invasive.. Dropbox doesn't offer unlimited, and didn't even know there was a stock cloud storage app from Samsung pre installed, guessing though that's not unlimited either.

Hey AOU,
I ran into this issue again recently after I tried to factory reset my phone.
It got stuck on the Galaxy S6 Edge screen.
I was going to use the second link like I did before but it seems like the megaupload file isn't available anymore...Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks!
Hello, just picked up a used tab s t705w bell in good shape. Ive tried to flash the original 5.02 as well as autroot and another original image as well. All of them fail. Im using the latest version of Odin. The connection says its ok as per com port than when it gets to boot.img it stops and fails. Ive tried 2 USB cables as well as all my USB ports to no avail. Please help as to what I'm doing wrong, thanks.
Heres a pic
Update: tried with laptop still same thing, is there anybody that can offer a suggestion? I even unplugged the battery and plugged back in. I also tried several older versions of Odin.
Well since nobody knows what to do my research indicates possibly nand chip has failed meaning hardware issue. Gonna look at returning it.

Hi,
Did you end up fixing the issue? I think I have the same issue as yours on a SM T800. It came with 4.4.2 so when I tried to update to Marshmellow it failed and it restarted fine, and it told me to update via my pc using Kies or smarth switch. So I did so and guess what happened Smart Switch failed as well but now it bricked the tablet. So when Smart switch tries to install the recovery, same thing. So I now have a brick! So I am trying to find out if there was a solution or not. If not I will just have to wear it.
Thanks.

You're saying you can't get it back into the Odin download mode?
Hold HOME+ VOLUME UP+VOLUME DOWN+POWER. (Keep holding)
When the Samsung splash screen comes up, let go of the VOLUME UP button.
When the Odin warning screen comes up, let go of all buttons and click VOLUME UP.
Even when I was sure mine was soft-bricked, I was able to get it into Odin download.

In my limited experience with Odin, I find it to be a very stable, robust, and reliable application. Having said that, and not knowing what version you're using, the usual suggestions are:
Try another (older) version of Odin.
Try another USB cable.
Always use a USB 2 port.
Try a different firmware package making *certain* it's for your model tab. (<- This is what's most suspect - IMHO.)
As long as you can still invoke the Odin downloader on your tab, there's still hope.
Good morning, Sir
News update, detailed search carried out, found the latest specific Samsung Firmware, (XEH-T805XXU1CPL1-20170111202424 with MM.)
The procedure with Odin has been successfully completed. (end of good news) At the end of the operation the tablet remains with the logo samsung bright intermittently . performed hard reset but remains stuck on the initial logo samsung always bright intermittently.
Suggestions?

PM SENT.
Yup. Been there. Done exactly that. I fixed it by subscribing to SamMobile, then paying for and downloading the OEM firmware. That's probably the best news, You can always get back to a box-stock condition. If you have the patience, you can download the firmware for free.
EDIT: Once I got back to stock, I looked for and found:
DAMMIT! I keep forgetting we have two different tabs. Obviously Klimtwifi is wrong for you.
lineage-14.1-20200321-UNOFFICIAL-klimtwifi, installed it with Odin3_v3.11.2 (Not sure it matters.)
Then rooted it using Odin: https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/android-basics-root-with-cf-auto-root-0167401/
And, once rooted, installed the Official TWRP app from Google Play. I always use the next older version of TWRP (twrp-3.3.0-0-klimtwifi) because TWRP doesn't like me much.
Then, rebooted into recovery and flashed GApps (open_gapps-arm-9.0-nano-20200417)
FWIW - This is from feeble memory, and I still have all the files - both those that worked and those that didn't - all in the same folder. So if something doesn't work for you, I've got what worked for me.
All said, getting LineageOS on this thing was far, far simpler that trying to get it back to stock.

IS A build guide available ??
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 LTE is no longer maintained.
I just thought I’d switch to android 4.4 ....
The problem comes from the loss of boot files?

This should get you where you want to be: http://www.lineageosdownloads.com/download-galaxy-tab-s-10-5-lte-lineage-os/
I'm not sure what caused the problem in the first place. I was just very relieved to see it boot when i got the stock ROM back on it.
Did you restore yours back to stock? It's good practice.

Good morning,
The tablet is Hungarian (made search via samsung and s n), I install unique files (extension .md5).
installed the version K.K. 4 , the only novelty the presence during the first restart of the colored logo, performed manual restart and hard reset /wipe ,
At the end it remains with the Samsung logo bright intermittently (Samsung logo power etc.etc.). Found the multifile firwarware.
Odin does not recognize extension . enc4 and (oddly ) I find nothing to extract Files...

Did you find your model number on the SamMobile website? That's really where you need to start. Once you have the correct OEM firmware, using Odin to install it is a no-brainer. You need to get back to stock before you can move on to custom.
What is your complete model number?
Send me a private message. I think I may be confused and am causing you extra confusion.

Good morning,
Downloaded and installed the latest version SM-T805_t805xxu1cpl1_marshmallow(Android 6.0.1)_Xeh_factory Rom (4 File)_20170111.zip.enc4. (decrypted with an earlier version of samfirm (3.9 ).
the installation procedure of the 4 files, AP, BL, CP, CSC, does not involve problems.
Unfortunately at the end of the procedure the Tablet does not restart automatically, and after its hard wipe reset remains locked on the initial logo samsung always bright intermittently.
During the tests I noticed that holding down the power button tries to start. The second samsung logo stands out completely but does not pass the stage.
The feeling he can’t make it.
A new PIT file?

Good morning, first of all
I want to thank you for your patience and time.
Performed yet another installation test with Odin this time with Android 5 (XEH-T805XXU1BOJ1-20151111094815) similar result, you have precedents.
But with a novelty
.At the end of the installation, the tablet remains off, as in the pretending tests, I try to start it normally but nothing, in addition to the ever-present Logo (Samsung Galaxy tab S) flashing intermittently.
I press the power button for several seconds with the result of making the second samsung logo appear (colored) with an Android loading start, release the button, the device turns off.
By re-activating the flashing logo (Samsung Galaxy tab S) normally.
Holding down the power button starts
Android update - optimization of the accompanying application (192 tot), a few minutes later always with the power pressed, the process ends and the installation of applications begins, after a few seconds, the first APP starts., the tablet turns off.
By turning it on again and the intermittent luminous logo (Samsung Galaxy tab S) reappears.
Repeating the procedure (power button pressed continuously) you get colored samsung logo and the writing (alkalmazàsok telepitèese) installation of applications and turns off.
I perform a wipe data / factory reset obtaining:
--wiping data—
Formatting / data ...
Formatting / cache ...
Formatting / sbfs ....
E: unknow volume for path [/ sbfs]
E: unknow volume "/ sbfs"
Complete data wipes.
I run reboot system now.
The tablet turns on with the intermittently lit Logo (Samsung Galaxy tab S).
By repeating the whole procedure previously described, no changes are obtained.

Neither Google nor I understand that phrase. Do you?
Irrespective of that, I'm at my wit's end. And, assuming you're following the published directions, you may be looking at a hardware failure.
Just to confirm, before all this started for you, this was a working tablet?

good morning,
the tablet was working, during a game session started to reboot, always and only with the logo (Samsung Galaxy tab S) bright intermittently, performed hard reset, I did not fix anything. The only news, these days, after Odin, is the complete installation of android 5 with the power key pressed all the time.releasing the tablet key turns off . At the next power on I get the logo (Samsung Galaxy tab S) bright intermittently.
thank you for your patience and professionalism

This is the screen you see *before* you invoke Odin and connect the tab to your PC?
