[DEV] MIUI NS port for our SGS by MIUI9000

MIUI9000 devteam try to port Nexus S MIUI 2.3.3 to our Galaxy S.
We had try to compile two differents builds with CM7 SGS Rom :
first with system app and framework, without build.prop miui
second with system app and framework, and with build.prop miui
Same results for two tries : stay on boot screen "Galaxy S Cyanogenmod".
Please, anyone have an idea for port miui 2.3.3 to gs ?
I thought Miui is android 2.2 and not 2.3; besides if I'm correct there is another team picking up Miui development.
Actually they have released first Gingerbread for Nexus S. I also believe that this is posted by the same Team. If I am wrong then kindly point me to right thread as I am itching to run miui on my Galaxy S.

The new team posted this in MIUI forums, they basically need help. I suggested they post it here and seems like he did, nice one mate
There is no release from them yet, time will tell, but we need some more input from devs here!
@OP: Put [DEV] in your title
Yes we certainly need all the support we can get on this miui project as it is one of the best rom available.

Im pretty sure it could be built using the CM7 sources like the original MIUI port was done using the CM6 sources.
Pehaps a kernel problem for screen boot block ?

Could be, you are using CM7 sources, correct?
Bump, we need more activity in this thread
I second that jblanc,... kernel problem is what I was thinking as well.. devs should try another kernel.
I m on an HTC desire, and am running miui, I am on the verge of getting galaxy S just as soon as I m sure that the sgs has Chance if getting miui from Cm 7 sources.

Yes, i use CM7 Sources.
I copied the files from the system\app & framework of MlUI Nexus S to CM7 SGS rom.
And I wanted flashed once with and once without build.prop to try both. But nothing to do, the phone is stuck on the boot screen of cyanogen.
Edit: @Rafi: an idea of kernel we can use for fix this problem ? For moment, we keep defaut CM7 kernel ...
There are two other CM7 kernels in this forum you can try.
What kernel did the 2.2.1 MIUI use? Was it a CM6 kernel or a MIUI specific one?
It was hardcores.

I second that notion, try them and report back to us and see what happens.

It isn't a kernel matter...is a build problem...cyanogenmod doesn't run on the same framework of miui...it isn't that easy to make such a port...we may need more experienced people that alas seems to be unterested in this port!!
let's see if the collaboration will be more proficient than the skills!!
Let's hope that this port isn't too difficult. This is the rom I look forward to most of all the upcoming ones.

Hi there, I'm the one making the MIUI port for Desire Z/G2 and I managed to boot 2.3.3 MIUI up on my DZ. It has many problems... but thats not the point here
To get a booting system I used CM7-RC2 for HTC Vision, replaced the /app and /framework folders with the ones from MIUI and those files in /lib:
libandroid_runtime.so
libandroid_servers.so
libwebcore.so
Since the Desire Z doesn't have NFC I deleted the Nfc.apk in the /app folder.
Try the same with a SGS CM7 Rom and it should boot up.

defy 10 point multi touch patch as a .zip file made by ga1axy

This is more easy version of 10point multi touch patch .zip version file ,made by "ga1axy" reform by "nachajune" in korea defy forum.
stock froyo or base custom rom -> defy_multitouch_froyo.zip
MIUI / CM7 RC1 v2 -> defy_multitouch_miui.zip
leak gingerbread -> defy_multitouch_gb.zip
Attach your version of file in SD card -> boot recovery menu -> flash .zip file
Thanks, and Happy day !!
Simple and easy install.
Thanks ... works fine
Quick noob question. I have my defy on Stock Froyo (Guarantee purposes) but rooted.
Does this .zip works with the built in recovery the Defy has?
no problem !

I installed the _miui.zip on cm7 rc1v2 using cwm and now its stuck at the motorola logo(my base rom is nordic froyo). Can anyone help?
Didn't make a difference on the leaked 2.3.4 gb rom.. Still only 2 point touch
Why you people love to make things harder...? Just install this one https://market.android.com/details?id=defy.multitouch.vista instead of using zips in recovery.

[Q] HELP ... Crazy battery problem

Hey Guys,
i allready searched google and the forum for any help ...
i just got a defy+ and was happy to find a way to root it, install 2nd init and boot liquidarc ... then i've seen that the battery isn't fully charging ...
the defy+ charges to 80% ~ 90% and then stops. the phone says it's quite loading but nothing happens even after hours.
my father got an defy with green lense also with liquidarc and there the battery is loading to 100%.
it's driving me crazy, cause it dont seem to be a hardware problem. the stock rom charges normally to 100%
also the problem appears with other custom roms but with different %.
does anyone have an idea, what this could be ???
thanks for help
You could use the battery calibrate from market.
Sent from my awesome Moto Defy: Stock Rooted Gingerbread 2.3.3 - XDA Premium
thanks for your answer, but i allready tried to wipe the battery stats and recalibrate ...is there a known problem with these defy roms on defy+ that may affect the battery?
The battery on the two phones is different so obviously it would require a compatible module to work. You can replace the battd file as suggested by walter79.
Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
Yea, I would think it was because Defy+ is using higher battery capacity of which it having different battd file. Flashing into liquidarc rom has changed the battd file and ruin the charging process. Perhaps you could get back your original Defy+ battd file into your liquidarc.
I'm not sure if this is the logical statements but something is better than nothing.
as ryan8r says try to change the battd. check out my wallpaper issue post you will find battd file zip there. goodluck
i have this same problem :| ROM 2.3.4-134_DFP-10 Defy+
if someone could provide "battd" from the new Defy + or orginal firmware with orginal battd??

You still need to re-calibrate the battery using the battery calibrator from the market. Follow the instruction within the apps when you installed it.

Callibration has nothin to do with it! Did you set the permissions correctly for the battd file?
Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
What should I set the permissions for this file? I flash 4.5.1-128 and testing now.
Edit: 4.5.1-128 - stop at 84% after replace battd (permissions set the same as the original file in system\bin) i got popup "invalid battery" and got gquestion mark in battery icon..
I need this file from intact Defy + (not from Defy with ROM for Defy+, and not from chines Defy+)
Any idea ?

Advice on setting up...

Hey guys, I've been using cm7 for the last few months and decided to flash back to stock .62. Just wanted some advice on what order to do the following things after flashing Rom:
* root/doomkernel v10
*change to .36 baseband and libs
*install and configure darktremor apps2sd
*partition sd card for ext and swap
Also which ftf has the .36 baseband and where do I get the libs for it? Thanks in advance guys!

i will try to help although it may be brief.
you can get the files from doomlords v10 thread its somewhere in the last few pages.
it doesnt really matter which order you flash/install those things although
change baseband then install doomkernel and then the libs will be the best start imho

[Q] How to root my Arc S & what's the best rom out there ?

Hi,
-I want to root my device, so what's the safest way to root it ?
(explain the method here or give me links!)
-and what Rom do u prefer to use in my phone after rooting it ?
(custom rom or stock rom, but all features most work perfectly and the phone should work smooth)
I am running ICS 4.0.3 and My phone is Middle East version & it's important that the rom that I will put in my device fully support (Arabic language) like the original one does!
See attachment to know all the info of my phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601038
Follow this thread and download the zip file, read the on screen instructions and just run the .bat file and you'll have root..
And for the rom, try Arconium ICS or Mooded ICS.. They both support Arabic languages!

Thanks alot gire.prasad for your helpful reply
my phone now rooted successfully!
I am thinking in staying with the orginal stock software (the original SE ICS 4.0.3)
So now I just rooted the device, and I will try to free up the internal memory
note: I was facing some application hanging when I try to use them before rooting the device like :
-Phone
_Contacts
-Xperia Gallery
-Messaging
So will freeing up internal memory space solve this hanging problem ?
Thanks!
Glad you got root!
It wont.. The apps freezing is due to Stock ICS and freeing up internal memory simply doesn't help it.. Tweaking should help a bit or try different rom.. If you prefer stock rom, then try supercharging the rom using V6 SuperCharger script and using that script try to bulletproof those apps you mentioned! It'll help a lot and make the rom even more smoother and faster..
Need some help for doing it?
