[Q] Problem with "My Apps" in Market - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
my prob has started a few days ago..
After an App update my device has always done a reboot but only the fast boot from where the boot logo starts.
After device restarting the update hasnt installed and the App is no longer to find in "my apps". (49 out of about ~70 Apps )
Ok. ROM Manager and fix permissions .. (49Apps available ..)
Titanium Backup Market Doctor and fixed all Market Links .. (NONE app available! see screenshot)
Done a Nand-Backup but the same screen without any app nothing changed ..
Flashed a ROM update.. none apps
Settings -> Apps -> Market -> Delete Data.. none app..
reinstalled vendor.apk.. nothing changed
when i hit www.market.android.com in my Browser i can see all my downloaded apps but not in the Market?!
Now I'm perplexed.. probably anyone else got an idea?
I hope that I do not need to do a full wipe
Im on
CM7.2 RC0 from here http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/gigglebread/bravo/
s-off

Although it's against your hope, I recommend to do a FULL WIPE, reflash rom and restore apps. But backup all apps with Titanium Backup before (and maybe WiFi Access Points).

Have you tried installing some random app from the market? Simple install always solved missing apps issue for me.
SwiftKeyed from my HTC Desire using XDA App.

same **** after wipe and restoring apps...
dont know what to do..
@erklat yes i have tried it.

Try using old market (2.3.6):
http://bit.ly/nQtuzp (Copied link from Meaple's sig)
After downloading, rename your current version to e.g. vending1.apk, move the download market to /system/app, rename it to vending.apk and set right permissions:
Check "read" for User, Group and Other, check "write" only for user and let execute completely unchecked. Now reboot and see what happens.

[Q] Why ar my apps not redownloading?

I've been swapping between a few different roms to find which best suits and want to stick with miui as it seems to work best with my sony liveview watch.
problem is that when i set it up the marketplace doesn't automatically download my apps that i've had on other roms and using one of the free backup apps and then restoring means the apps don't show up in my apps in the market so won't update.
on other devices i've had to alter the build.prop fingerprint and that's sorted it but no luck this time. in fact the miui /system won't mount as RW so had to use adb to push a revised build.prop to try.
is there a backup app that will show my installed apk's in the market or a trick to get the market to redownload them anyway?
better yet is there a way to use the bluetooth files from miui on cm7?
Try wiping the dalvik cache from recovery console. Also try to install anything from the market, this sometimes prompts it to reconnect your account

Also remembered that titanium backup has a fix broken market links if you have been using that as your mode of backup. Try all of these option and hopefully something will work

hi
cheers for the tips. already tried the dalvik cache and downloading something to kickstart it but no dice
i'll try out titanium and see what happens
only the apps you downloaded via market are re-downloaded. If you got some .apks and installed them on your own they are not downloaded.
And remember to check "backup my settings" under privacy. Check "backup and restore" when you flash a ROM.
cheers for the tip
they're all from the market so crossing my fingers for when i get a chance to try later.

FIXED at last - Market Download Error “Download was unsuccessful, please try again.”

Just sharing my recent experience and fix after trying nearly everything (except flash Raidroid stockify RUU).
Original Rom, LeeDrOiD 2.2.3 with ext3.
Nan-backup & backup sdcard to pc, flash CWM 3.0.2.8, Remove sdcard at merge partitions with Mini-tool Partition Wizard Wizard and FULL format fat32. Flash CoreDroid, after setting up Google account, WiFi password etc, automatic download app & sync occurred, after a number of apps were downloaded and installed automatically, I was getting the above error for everything. After Download Error, Gmail stuck on “sending”, but able to sync / receive new emails.
I have internet access through both Edge & WiFi.
I have tried the below “fixes” for CoreDroid GB & after reinstalling LeeDrOiD :
Cleared Market cache/data (no option to uninstall updates)
Cleared Download Manager
Cleared HTC Check in Service
Reboot clearing Dalvik in recovery
Edge or WiFi / Airplane
Droidwall is disabled
Fastboot disabled
Updating existing apps or download new (free or paid)
Unmounting sdcard when attempting DL
Automatic update of date & time disabled/enabled. Checked date & time is correct.
Disable in Privacy Settings (Backup my settings & Automatic restore)
Enable Unknown sources in App settings
Market Enabler
Same error if log into Market account on pc and try download app
Battery out for 5 mins
I have no task killers etc.
Same radio, as had not yet flashed a new one for the GB
Flashed CWM 2.5.1.3 , create ext3, FULL wipe, FULL sdcard format in pc and quick format using CWM & restoring various previous CWM backups, and doing the above with/without ext3,
FULL format of sdcard & Full wipe of all partitions again in CWM recovery prior to clean install of LeeDrOiD
FOUND THE FIX!!
Cleared Gmail data/cache along with Market etc !! WooHoo!!
Only have to setup Gmail app settings / preferences again. Don’t know why as worked fine before.
I'm still having problems. I've installed MDJs_ViVO_Sense_v.3.1.1 on my girlfriend's HTC Desire HD as well as my own. I had no problems with mine. My phone was not branded beforehand (I'm on T-Mobile from Carphone Warehouse). Hers however was locked to Orange originally.
Everything works perfectly except for the Market Download Error as mentioned above. Some paid apps reinstalled perfectly instantly, others have failed. They can be sent manually to the phone from Market on a PC by clicking the "Installed" button on the site.
What I don't get, is that on Market on a PC, they show up as installed, but are not on the phone. I have tried clearing data and cache from both Market and Gmail on the phone.
Her phone with error:
ROM - MDJs_ViVO_Sense_v.3.1.1
PHONE - HTC Desire HD
CARRIER - Orange (UK)
ANDROID VERSION - 2.3.3
HTC SENSE VERSION - 2.1
BASEBAND VERSION - 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
KERNEL VERSION - Unavailable
BUILD NUMBER - -=MDJ's ViVO Sense v.3.1.1=-
SOFTWARE NUMBER - 2.36.405.8
BROWSER VERSION - WebKit/533.1
All my details are identical except my carrier is T-Mobile (UK) and works perfectly.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Try some of the steps above, in particular these in this order;
Disable in Privacy Settings (Backup my settings & Automatic restore) & sync OR delete .lostdir & .androidsecure folders on sdcard
Enable Unknown sources in App settings
Clear market cache
Reboot into CWM recovery & clear dalvik cache
Sign into market again
If you have "Market Enabler" app, try that after doing the above, you will need to give SU permission after you select provider & "fake provider". If not give the above a try first.
Also. it has been suggested to checkdisk your sdcard for errors as well.
Sometimes Google Market is down, so may not be an issue at all.
Edit: If you have Titanium Backup Pro, you have an option: Menu -> More -> Market Doctor
Try after doing the above, can help restore broken market links.
Can anyone point me in the direction of where to get this market enabler app please
If you can DL from market? It's free. If not, let me know and I'll fire up the laptop and attach.
Edit: Here it is attached:

Nice on ta
Thanks, UpInTheAir. I've tried all those steps except step 1, so I'll try them all again including step 1 in that order. Thanks for your time.
It seems that almost all the missing apps have now downloaded and installed, so it would seem that it's a case of waiting for the Market to get round to it. Thanks for your help.

is there a minimum amt of posts needed before i can press thank you button?
i don't see it anywhere!! lol
No worries. You've already said thanks, but to answer your question, you need the premium app (option when long tap) or can also hit the button from pc. Not sure about min number of posts though.
Glad it worked.

Market "My Apps" not showing correctly

I noticed today that "My Apps" in the market is only displaying 4 of my Apps with are PAID FOR apps, none of the free ones are showing. I ran a few updates to some random programs 3-4 days ago, otherwise nothing has change at all. Some update must have corrupted market data or something.
Anyway, I cleared all market data, rebooted phone. Opened market, it asked me to accept terms, etc. then I went to "My Apps" and its still b0rked. Any suggestions other than clearing cache and data from Google Services Framework and Market? That is all I can think of so far. It seems this has worked for some, but not me.
UPDATE
Sorry gang, this method worked after all. It just took 4-5 minutes for all of the apps to show back up. It initially only showed the ones it had licenses in the registry for. After Market was open a bit, it started showing all of my installed free apps too. MODs feel free to delete the post. :/
Go to recovery (amon ra) and find "other" then you'll see "fix uid mismatches" or download titanium backup and hit menu ,then select market doctor and it should repair the links. If one doesn't work try the other. After you do one of the fixes download a random app and it should fix it.
This happens to me alot when restoring nandroids or playing with apps2sd.

I have Titanium Backup Pro but had not run market doctor before. When I ran it it didnt find any saved market links so it couldnt do anything. I'll get that setup now so it doesnt happen again but the above mentioned fix seems to work fine as well.

The fix in recovery will link all your apps back. I always works for me when the titanium doesn't work. I don't know if clockwork has "fix uid mismatch" but you'll find it in amon ra lol. Good luck

[Q] LegendaryROM, Recovered Apps not showing

((MOVED TO ITS OWN THREAD))
Hey, Guys:
Okay, first...
Samsung Epic
Legendary ROM EI22 4.01 (rooted, obviously)
Market 3.3.11
MyBackupPro 3.0.1
I backed up with the latest MyBackupPro prior to upgrading to the LegendaryROM (on 21 Nov, so it's been more than long-enough for everything to update.)
When I Restored, my apps all loaded, but only about half of the Paid Apps show on the Market as Installed...the rest show as mine, but Not Installed; and *none* of my Free apps show on my Market list at all.
If I go *to* an App in the Market (that I already have), they all show as Installed already...but there is no option (or button) to Uninstall them.
Now, comes the fun part:
Yes, I know the normal way to fix this problem is to delete the Cache and/or Data for Market and Google Services Framework; and allow the Market to repopulate the info.
However, there is *NO* Cache or Data for Market, *or* for Google Services Framework. I've checked with three different utilities...they all say 0.00Bytes; and the CLEAR buttons are greyed out in the Manage Applications section.
Force Stop does not good, either.
In addition, I have installed two other (new) Apps from the Market & rebooted...and nothing has changed.
*PLEASE* don't tell me the only way to fix this is to rip out sixty apps Manually (with Root Explorer, or ES), and re-install them from the Market. (I already wrote RerWare (the MBUPro folks)...and that was their only suggestion.)
This may sound stupid, but have you tried *updating a paid app* through the market? Look at Titanium Backup's website, the author has a lot of information regarding similar situations to yours. Good luck!
There is no option to Update *or* Uninstall...only "Open" from the Market.
Are you suggesting Manually uninstalling an App...and then re-installing?...suppose I can try that...
*EDIT*
Tried that....and *that* app now shows as Installed...but no changes otherwise.
Have you tried restoring Market data from MyBackup? Or is system data not backed up? I use Titanium Backup. It backs up all system data and you can clear data with it on system apps that are "greyed" out in settings. I just restore my market data with that and it is all there.
Restoring Market is not an option in MyBackup...but there *was* a ClearCache option there...that apparently worked, even though the main Applications one didn't! All batter....thanks for the thoughts, everyone!
Titanium backup has an option to break or restore market links when you long click on an app. You can tell if each app has a working market link by the icon on the far right. A yellow smiley means no link, a yellow smiley with a blue "M" on top means it has a link to the market.

How to prevent automatic Google Play Store apps Download with new Rom

Hi,
how can i prevent, that Google Play Downloads all my 200 Apps in my clean new Rom installation...
i have all the time speed issues,
and now i wanna tray, only install needed apps...
but every time i install clean rom,
add my google account, and go into Playstore, the Download starts...
You should have put this under Q&A
after setup google account, I turn off wifi, data to prevent auto download applications form play store and using titanium backup to restore my applications
but this is no Solution...
i also use Titanium Backup,
if i restore 15 apps...
and than i visit the first time Google Play Store,
the other 185 apps starts to downoad...
is there a setting, in Titanium Backup, to prevent Playstore to start the downloads...
Maybe change any ID, that google Play store means, i have an new Mobile
Just deselect the "Restore" option in the "Backup and Restore" page of the Welcome Wizard.
I think that deselecting the Restore won't get you anywhere...
What I've found is that the phone automatically downloads different apps for the sense ROMs and different for non-sense. Since sense has different storage locations than other ROMs I'm sure that data telling the playstore what to download is on the phone and I it should be on the SD card since it's still there after a full wipe. Now all we have to do is find the directory where that data is stored and delete it before we flash a new ROM.
A ROM dev would surely know where this directory is, but I'll try to find it...
If someone knows, do tell us
Play Store downloads the same apps for any ROM, sense or not. There's no difference. And the downloaded apps are stored in the same directory in all Android ROMs which is /data/app. Just not selecting the 'restore from this Google account' option during initial should be enough. Even if Play Store setup starts downloading apps, force stop it and then put back all your apps using Titanium Backup or something like that.

Also there is a option in Titanium backup to detach user & system apps from the Market. I think that after you force stop the market you should do this and solve your problem
Usually when that happens to me, I go to the My Apps page in the market and just press the Stop All button.

The stop button doesn't like to show while downloading 100+ apps
