Anyone connect a Bluetooth mouse? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I figure it works since I've read a corded mouse works but I just want to make sure. Would be awesome in my car.

Yes it works.
Tested it with a MS Bluetooth mouse this week.

Cool thanks. Hey, how does it function? I mean, is the interaction the same as with your finger or is it enhanced or limited in any way?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk

Like normal a pointer appears on the screen. Left button selects. Right button is back. Scroll wheel moves "highlight" if applicable up and down the page.

Cool. Anyone know if the apple magic mouse works?

Yeah it worked with my Razer Mamba

ISO a keyboard that toggles between the number and letters pads.

Anyone know of one? Each time use my spreadsheet app I have to change to the number keypad which is cumbersome. Thanks in advance.

Not sure that I understand the question, but I use Swift key x.
One of my favorite features is the fact that it toggles between the keyboard and a regular style number pad instead of the annoying top row numbers.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
Well, does it stay in either mode UNTIL you toggle back? As I mentioned it's annoying to have to always change to the number pad.

I tried it. Doesn't do it.

Try perfect keyboard. It is a GB like keyboard. You can set it up to use a split QWERTY in landscape mode with a 10 key in the middle. I use it on my tab and on my gs2. There is a pay version if you like it too.

I'll check it out. So far perfect keyboard with the split mode, a numeric pad in the middle of the qwerty is almost a solution but it's so small there in the middle it doesn't really work out.

Pre-installed Swype works like that. If I toggle to the numbers, it stays there until I toggle back to the letters.

Really? That's what I started with and have been struggling with. Maybe it's the program i'm using? I'm using documents to go... Every time I click on a cell I have to change to numbers.

Ooh....my bad. I mis-understood. I was thinking you were changing between numbers and letters in the same text input box. If you are changing cells then it wouldn't work like you want it to. It defaults to letters.

I agree it does get a little tight on the gs2...try this out on the perfect keyboard. Goto settings-tweaks- and toggle auto return to alpha and toggle numeric keypad on that screen. These will effect the portrait setup. Not sure if it will produce the desired effect when toggling between cells. Try to use the tab or next on the keyboard instead of touching the cell on the screen. I think that is what is resetting you keyboard. Or you may see if the t-9 setup will work.

Scrolling on the touchpad

Is there a way to scroll using two fingers or the far right side of the mouse pad? really frustrating to use the arrow keys or right click on the scroll bar.
Also, is there a way to increase the performance of the webtop? would Overclocking the Atrix help?
Yes, you can use 2 fingers to scroll when in touchpad mode. I dont know exactly if OC affects webtop but try it out.

How do I activate this scroll with mouse pad thing? It seems not to work on mine. I have looked in Mouse settings and there is nothing there that says anything about it.

I should point out that I am speaking in terms of the lapdock.
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Some users had reported that the laptop docks on display at att stores had the ability to two finger scroll, but they did not actually have it on the ones you would normally buy. This was not the case in my store; the laptop dock on display did not have two finger scrolling.

in mobileview you can scroll or flick through pages by doubletapping the touchpad and holding your finger down.
and in Firefox you can use an extension/addon called "grab and drag" which allows you to do the same thing...doubletap and hold to scroll through the pages...

Overclocking totally helps. I have a LapDock and I'm running Faux's v23 1.3 GHz kernel with no issues. I did have to do some UV when I tried the 1.45 GHz kernel though, or I'd get instability and bootloops.
Thanks for the tips guys. I am going to flash an oc kernel tomorrow.

Awesome alternative to sixaxis

Hey guys, came across an app called tablet remote in the app store. Uses WiFi/Bluetooth to connect to your android device which it turns into a game controller. Works well over WiFi, haven't tried Bluetooth yet. Oh, and its free!
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Usually people wanna use a controller because touch screen games are usually annoying and inaccurate. So I cant see playing a touch screen game with another touch screen. How u gonna know what buttons your pressing?

I usually would agree, but the app worked flawlessly. It would be awesome to have like some 3D piece to lay over the screen so you could actually "feel" the buttons
This ain't an alternative to sixaxis...

Pretty sure this belongs in the Themes & Apps section, I'm gonna request it be moved.
Well, I think that I will leave it here as it is really just a tip/trick and not an app release, link or apk.
Not really sure it is worth creating a whole new thread over though.
In addition, S Pen can be used as virtual mouse especially certain menu can only be opened when the pointer hovers over it (it's almost impossible without mouse).
What is splashtop?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
Haven't tried Splashtop yet, but the RDP client I use, 2X, airview is weird. On the bottom of the screen, alignment is ok. Towards the middle and the top, it's way off. But taps are accurate.

It works perfectly with AOSP ROMs. I'm using with Paranoid android. You can assign a function or app to activate when you detach /attach the spen.

Yeah the last update that allows you to set what happens when you remove SPen and put it back put it over the top. I have owned it for a while. I set it to launch transparent pad then I made several gestures and double tap to open camera, I write a "X" to open XDA or Tapatalk, etc. Oh and write a "P" and it opens Papyrus. I dont use SNote at all anymore
