Hi guys, need some help, im using cm7.1 rom and it has adwlauncher by default, and i just downloaded adwlauncher ex and when i press home button it keeps asking to choose launcher all the time. I cant delete defaulted adwlauncher. Is it any way to may adw ex as default? Thanks for help

Don't worry about deleting ADW. It's in the ROM's inherent system framework. It doesn't matter if it stays.
But in terms of the "Launcher Chooser" dialogue box, are you saying that it doesn't have the little option button to remember ADW Ex as the default launcher???
it didnot work but after reboot its ok

I've had ADW EX since Mid Feb and started using CM Nightlys off and on since then. I noticed now that when I attempt to change something through the theme portion of ADW EX, such as attempting to change the dock and icons that go with a theme, it force closes right as you press theme. I've rolled back a few Nightlys, changed kernals, wiped d-cache, etc. I removed defaults and attempted to use the standard ADW that comes re-installed and it force closes as you pick a theme.
Any ideas?
Close it, fixed

I really like CM7, but I'm having problems when installing launchers. I've tried both LauncherPro and Go Launcher Ex. When I install the new launcher, it's menu doesn't show up under Settings and ADWLauncher's menu disappears. So I'm stuck being able to do anything. Any ideas?
Since I'm not seeing it, can anyone tell me where LauncherPro's menu should show up? I'm assuming just under CyanogenMod settings where ADWLauncher used to be.
Have u tried hit menu in home screen after installed go launcherEx?

Thanks, that's it! I didn't think to check there because I have a shortcut to Settings, and that's where I accessed ADWLauncher's settings.

I checked out the reviews and it looks like a good launcher, but I'm quite happy with LauncherPro for now. Tks.
if you install a launcher different from ADW it is normal...if you uninstall the new launcher the adw settings' sub menu will appear again...
and a new menu will be under menu/more/adw settings ...
go launcher ex ftw.
Can anyone tell me if there is a default android launcher(unlike sense launcehr,ADW,etc.)
i.e. a "core" launcher or something like that.

well, no ... ? every rom has to use SOME launcher ... htc uses sense as its 'core' launcher... and so on ...
This may be a stupid question but how do you manage the screens?, I'm trying g to have just one screen and delete the rest but I can't seem to find where I would be able to do that

You mean the number of home screens? Just use Nova launcher to edit to your preference

I was thinking that, but when using the navigational bar tweak, and you press the home button in it, it switches back to the default luncher and not nova, the ROM doesn't come with a default screen manager?

Press the menu button and then Manage apps. Go to All then scroll down to Launcher and select that. Once in there go down to Clear Defaults and select that. Press the home button then you'll be prompted to choose a default launcher, choose Nova. Done. When you start with a freshly installed ROM you have a choice of the stock launcher or Nova. The stock launcher doesn't have any customization, that's what you chose

long press on any screen
select "apex actions"
select "apex settings"
this will put an apex settings icon on your screen. Select it.
select "advanced settings"
select "set default launcher"
Yeah, something needs to change because this is not at all intuitive.
You could also go in to settings - apps and clear default in the stock launcher. Go to home screen and select apex as default.

I know how to disable or uninstall HTC sense using Titanium Backup, but when doing so, pressing home launches "Google Now" instead of the default android launcher. How do I replace HTC Sense with a standard android launcher?
Thanks

Ok. There are some roms which include a desensing script. Otherwise I see no real point in uninstalling htc sense unless you really hate it that much, just download apex or nova launcher from the playstore, press the home button once installed chosen launcher and just press always.

I just wanted to try out the vanilla launcher. Does it have a name? Anyway, I tried a few launches on the app store including Nova, but ended up going with Smart Launcher for now.

What's wrong with Nova/apex launcher? It's standart android launcher, copy of what nexus devices are using.
+1 to that Rofos, you can't remove sense if your not on Custom ROM.
+ Removing sense gets rid of the pic camera !
