Ok so I have Clockwork Mod V. 5
I just installed
Rom Manager so I could use it to update Clean GB easier.
It keeps wanting me to install clock work.
How do I get it to see its already there
Thanks.

It's not until you install it. Rom Manager keeps it's own official copy on your sd card to unpack each time. Install it.

Yup, I installed CWM via rom manager, then had to flash it from the older ver of CWM before I could fully use it. Kinda odd, but whatever works right?

No you didn't. Rom Manager uses it's own CWM and your phone via 3 finger has it's own recovery. If you want them to be the same THEN you have to flash CWM5 as well in whatever recovery is on your phone. ROM Managers CWM is on the sd card.

If you simply flash 5.027 you will have 2 CWMs on your phone and they will be the same. As far as the ROM labeling what ROM are you on and did you flash Marcusant's speed up tweaks? That may have caused the labeling error. What does your phone say in About Phone?

You can just edit your build.prop and put your ROM's description on the line where it says marcusant.

Did anyone flash the new recovery version in rom manager?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I did. Not sure about changes in the coding but the new UI is nice.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
I heard it is mainly for 2.3 ROMs and such, is that true? I'm on Magnolia which is 2.2, would I run into any issues?
weird.. i flashed the new recovery through rom manager then booted into recovery but still had 2.5 on there..
Flashed it this afternoon, using CM nightly #32. Using ROM manager to backup etc., would give me errors when it got to recovery. Some error about the sd card mounting I think. It would work fine booting to recovery, just not using ROM manager. Think the nightly update tonight might address the issue. Had to flash back to an earlier recovery to use ROM manager.
Could not install a new rom with it.

I flashed slayers test kernel with it and it seemed to work fine. Have not tried to run a back up yet.

Is there a zip to install this new recovery instead of using rom manager? I always remove rom manager from CM7.

It requires some sort of new update script, we use the donut update script so koush is pushing us towards the future with this recovery, it works with any kernel because of it being koush's update script. Some roms might work, ask your favorite developer if it is compatable

Darnit! Flashed it and now I can't install any font packs anymore. I guess it has something to do with the update script. Going back to a previous version if I can figure out how.

I can't either
Running CM 7 nightly #25. Flashed the 3.0.5 and I couldn't boot into Recovery. Just reverted to 2.5.1.2, guess we'll have to wait until something gets patched up in CM.
Worked for me. I like the look.

oh man, i can no longer access recovery. dayum...
i guess i should post some details: updated from 2.7.1.? (2 or 3, whatever) to 3.0.0.5 via free version of rom manager. just happened to have my stock rom loaded at the time.
edit: thx everyone. downloading the zip and reinstalling got me back up and running. yay! thx! i am disappoined, though, that md5 operations still take 15-20 minutes. i was hoping that would be fixed in this release.
Okay, so I was trying to upgrade to the latest nightly for my mother, since she loves gingerbread now. So here is my issue, I know that I need clockwork mod 3.0 or higher to get the nightlies to work, I have gotten #14 to install with the old recovery she has on there now. But when I try to update the recovery it will either not upgrade or revert back to 2.5 upon reboot. For example:
If I try using fastboot to install, I get an error. I don't remember exact error, but its a long the lines of it can't install.
If I try using the PB31IMG.zip method, but it just detects the zip and wont install or anything.
If I install the recovery via the recovery, it will work for the one time it loads, then upon reboot it reverts to old one.
I tried installing the newest nightly with the old recovery, but it will just load and then soft boot and repeat forever till I pull battery.
I rooted the phone with the unrevokr root and recovery method, so I don't know if that has anything to do with my problems.
Any help would be appreciated.

Indeed it did, I would then open winrar, and just drop the new .img file in and overwrite the old one. Maybe I should make a new zip file and add the other config file or whatever it is to the new zip. Otherwise, I am SOL lol.

Before you flash a new recovery with ROM Manager go into ROM manager settings and check the box to erase the old recovery before flashing the new one.
Then scroll to the bottom of the main ROM Manager menu and select all clockworkmod recoveries. Flash 3.0.0.8 since it has fixes for 3.0.0.5 issues.

Still not working, just does checking the zip and then goes back to hboot. I am going to try formating the internal memory, and put a copy on there and see if that does anything. Would having S-ON have anything to do with my problem?
Well I fixed it, was that I had S-On still enabled. I guess I'm so used to my nexus that I forgot that I needed that off to do that.

I running CM7 (nightly 58) and I already have CWM flashed, but when I open ROM Manager, it claims I don't and wants to flash it for me. Is there any harm in doing this? I have CWM version 3.0.0.5 showing when I reboot, and ROM Manager 4.1.0.0 installed.
Maybe it wants you to update to the latest version? (3.0.0.8)
I don't know, I don't use rom manager..

It won't hurt to reflash on top of it, even if it is already flashed.
The other thing that could be happening, if you delete the clockworkmod folder on your sdcard it will ask you to reflash. It uses the folder to keep track of what version you have.
What it wants to do is flash 3.0.0.8. You can do it with no problems. If you want to switch back to 3.0.0.5, just go to the section at the bottom that shows all clockwork recoveries and choose one.
I have steered away from ROM Manager since going to MTD because of the CWM issues it was having with installing the wrong version for MTD. Does anyone know if they got this issue corrected?

GooManager popped up a few days ago saying there is an update for my ROM.
It got my hopes up that Toad turned another one out.
I couldn't find it in GooManager so I tried ROM Manager but I was scared of it sticking the wrong CWM in. Thanks for the help.
It turns out there is no update & Goo Manager is mental......
May try out CM before long, looks pretty stable now, I hope.......
I installed TWRP and like it better than CWM...so I want to remove CWM.
How can I do this?

Yes I did. I still see clockworkmod folder in my file explorer with everything in there, but I don't think deleting that will completely remove cwm

CWM itself was removed off your phone upon installing TWRP with Goo Manager.
What you see is the folder in which backups are stored.
You can delete this folder.
If you doubt, just copy the clockworkmod folder to your PC before deleting it off your phone.
As said above twrp goes right over cwm what's left over is backups and other things not needed anymore. Those are safe to delete

Hi. I am also in this predicament.
I had installed TWRP. Had issues with installing a ROM and installed CWM.
Was able to installed ROM using CWM.
Now I wanted to go back to TWRP more flexibility on my part like naming baks but even installing Goomanager, it does not have the "top right" option where I can install the recovery script.
Is there a way to reinstall TWRP without going back to stock and keeping my current ROM?
Thanks.

And yes delete all those nasty cwm blobs and **** they put when your done using it Go to goomanager and there should be an option for open recovery and that downloads and installs twrp for you
Yes, I had installed Goomanager but I dpnt see the option to install the script on the main page even on the top beside the search icon.
