We really didn't need a new thread for it, as we already have 2. Cluttering the Epics general forums. Still good information though.
Im sure most people on this forum would know this, but if its still showing you yesterdays apps, go to settings/applications/manage applications then click on the "all" tab, go down to market and clear cache.
I exited the market app/cleared the ram in the task manager, rebooted the phone but none of that worked to get me the new apps until I cleared the cache.
Oh, I get it... 10 days of 10 apps for 10 cents to celebrate 10^10 downloads.
Google never fails to amuse nerds with little details like that.

Thanks for posting. Been so busy with work I would have missed this.

The dreaded message for not much space left. I've recently been testing out a few apps to suit my needs. And I've bumped into the message that shows the limitations of the eminently custmisable Android. And I haven't even downloaded one game!!!
I'm really hoping Froyo 2.2 (if that is what it will be called) will sort this out.
Pleeeeeeeease Google. Do us all a favour. Give us some room to maneuver.
I hope it gets sorted soon too. But as has been mentioned previously, HTC could have easily put 4-8gb onboard, plenty of space to install apps.
Google are adressing the issue, just have no idea when!
Re: Oh boy. "Phone storage space is getting low." Google, please sort it out.
Interestingly, I was thinking that the manufacturers of Android devices must know something because all the current crop of high end devices don't really have more than 1gig of memory. RAM or ROM. The Incredible being the exception. This was more nailed home when the Dell future devices (Thunder, Lightning, Flash, etc) came on the news feeds. The devices had no more on board memory than what we have now. And they are scheduled for release in 2011!
We all know Google is aware of tje issue. But what and when they are going to do is anyones guess. Amd why manufactures haven't been releasing devices with increasing on biard memory is perhaps telling.

Google has already officially advised a couple of weeks ago that a solution will be available soon. What the timeframe of soon is hasn't yet been defined, nor whether it will be a patch fix or a froyo upgrade. But either way, it's coming soon
I thought it was a battery life issue? that larger on board storage tended to lead to battery life being very short. What they need is a secure version of app2sd that's official and doesn't lead to piracy. Hopefully 2.2 will contain this.
I have low space and I know that, does anyone know how to remove the notification without having to uninstall apps as I don't plan at the moment to install any more until the update. I think I will give it a month and if the update isn't out by then I will try root and apps2sd.
pathetic......
clearing cache seems to be daily task now.
I don't believe this. I just uninstalled Google Earth so that I could test another app. Didn't like the app. Removed it. Went to instally Google Earth again.
Can't find it in the Market.
Can't find in via m.google.com/earth. Message "The requested item could not be found."
Can't access it via the link that Google sends via sms.
Just my luck!
Search the nexus forums for the apk and install it directly.
That's what I did, no problems.

Login via your Google account via appbrains app then search via the app or the link http://www.appbrain.com/ via your PC...
Choose install in the web browser for example and via the app on the phone choose manage and sync
@ OP yes hope for 2.2 or in other words Froyo will have it, but curious how fast HTC will get us an update
What I personally use to manage the ridiculous small app memory space I use the app "Quick app" to cleanup cache space.
Re: Oh boy.
This is completely driving me nuts now. Every single day the same issue. At first it only triggered below 8mb free but now its become a joke. Same error even at 17mb free and can't install anything.

I feel you. I just uninstalled a few, reinstalled G Earth, have 15.something MB left, and no notification. Maybe it needs to drop below 15 or get to 12.
Either way....
FRO-YO! FRO-YO! FRO-YO!

I don't get how you've run out of space... I've got 87 apps installed on my phone (counted every icon on the pop up full program list) and still got 47MB's left...

A quick count up shows that 37 of those icons are pre-installed anyway, so you've not got quite so many apps as you think.
Add in a satnav and 8 or 9 games like me, and you will find yourself at the limit very quickly :-(

Yeah I understand that a lot are pre-installed, but that still leaves 50 apps installed. I've not got sat nav installed (use google maps navigation) but i've got 20 games installed (nothing major like a big 3d game).
Does the sat nav install its self to the phone? Guess that would take up a lot of room...
What's the best way to clean out the phone cache etc. I found Quick Cache Cleaner that got me a few MB back from the browser.
Over the last few days all the apps I uninstall are not removing themselves from my market downloads page. So now I have a bunch of crap apps cluttering up my list. Is there anyway to clean up the market downloads list and remove all these free apps I don't care about since I uninstalled them? They're making it so all my updates are getting dispersed through the list, which is quite annoying. I'm running the latest CM6 Nightly.

go into SETTINGS>APPLICATIONS and clear the cache and data for the Market app. Open it up, it will re-gather the list, and you should be good to go!
Nope, tried that already and somehow they are still coming back
These are free apps by the way, I know that you can't get the paid apps to leave your downloads list.
Market in general is a joke compared to Apple App Store. I have been having the same issue.
I find it really stupid that if I click on a banner for an advertised game or app it doesn't take me there. They need to get rid if soundboards, themes and junk.

I tried reinstalling all the apps in the list, removing them all with Titanium with "Remove Market Entry" set, clearing cache and data for Market, and then rebooting... and they're all still in the bloody list. I also made a nandroid backup and wiped /data and when I logged into Market they all tried to install automatically with the apps I actually care about. Why can't I get these apps to go away?... D:

Uh, you hold the Apple App Store in such high regard, and it's full of soundboards and plenty of other "junk".
It may be a PIA, but I would try wiping everything, flashing CM and gapps and skipping the setup process. Once the system loads, go into settings and make sure backup data/apps (I can't remember exactly what its called or which settings folder its in) and then open the market and sign in.

I wish there was a way to filter crap app developers out of the market. I never want to see an app by a few developers that seem to just make stupid apps over and over (that ringclip guy, for instance) I remember there was an alternate market app a while back that let you do this, but I can't find it anymore.

Didnt mean to hurt your feelings. If you've ever had an apple product that accessed the app store you would know what I'm talking about.
1. When you uninstall an app it shouldn't remain in your downloads folder. This is very annoying and you find yourself clicking on the app you just deleted by mistake.
2. Android has a lot good apps but most of them are buried under junk apps.
3. The banners that I'm referring to is when you view all apps. It'll show me a banner of a cool looking game and if clicked on it should take me straight to the game but it doesn't.

This must be a problem with CM. I am running Fresh 3.3.0.1 and I just happened to have unistalled a bunch of apps today (all either uninstalled through the market or through settings/applications). After I uninstalled them I rebooted and they are now gone from my Market downloads page.
I have the same issue on stock 3.29 w/ root. Odex.

yes I've been using prior since I've haven't ever had issues at all
Yeah the app is nothing weird.
This is not anything malicious, this is legit in every way.
Pleased with GuerillaBob, Samarai II, Smart Office, Tapatalk, TuneIn Radio PRO and Splashtop Remote (all seem to be working - I just opened to see if they forced closed)
Orbital force closes upon opening, which is a shame.
Nice, but how does getjar work with updates, can I uninstall the getjar app and the apps show up in market on my google account?

I'm not sure. The apps I just installed do not show up in the "my apps" part in the Market.
But searching and going to the apps individually in the market shows I do have them installed as it says "uninstall".
I'm unsure whether updates will come through. However the GetJar app is simply a portal to their website, it's 436KB as well.
I think they may add more free apps so keep the app installed for a bit longer - unless it bothers you seeing the app congesting your already-congested menu
Well, it's not that it bothers me that much.. But I feel like it would be nice having android market updates for these apps aswell.
More nice with 1 market than 2 imo

Yeah it's true, I get what you mean really.
I guess we'll have to wait for an app to get an update and then see what the update process is like
Would have been soooo nice if they popped in to your google acc on market!
I tried the GetJar app, and the one app I downloaded had too many adds so I uninstalled it. I also uninstalled the GetJar app. Now I keep getting the GetJar.apk file downloaded again. How do I make this stop?
Welcome to 2010.
Thanks. Got a couple of good ones. For FREE. (including Tapatalk)

One fine day noticed this sitting at the top of the apps list in market.
Clicking open launches Tetris. Tried freezing tetris and it disappeared, unfroze and it came back. Does this mean it's really a mislabeled entry for tetris and not malware of some sort? But why now all of a sudden?
Solution: See this post.

I don't know. I think it's safe though-read some reviews
Sent from my R800i using XDA
Yea it seems to be just us play users have it. pretty crazy.
Looks like it even has an official market link TestApps, how weird
In market on the phone, there are 337 comments (as of now), but nothing on the web market.
Also, all those reviewing it as safe are simply doing so because hitting open on the app launches tetris. I may be wrong but it could also simply be linking to tetris while actually being more malicious underneath. Kinda like how even a simple batch file can launch two apps (or more) and one app may be a background process, while the other is the visible smokescreen...
I would assume that this app is malicious, as the developers website link, links to a dead domain. I'd suggest removing it asap.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using Tapatalk
Can't really remove it, even with a system utility, because we simply don't know what to remove!
And freezing/removing tetris seems to remove the entry from the app list in market. If it's trojan-like, it's very well integrated.
I think we're entering a new era of android malware, and it's pretty scary...

Look in /data/app or /sd/android.secure for any .apk with that apps icon, delete the .apk then format dalvik cache and it's gone
Sent from my HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio X315e using Tapatalk
LOL, it has no icon either.
So I deleted cache/cleared data for google play, uninstalled it back to the market version and then let it reinstall the google play update and the entry seems to have disappeared. Time will tell...
I looked at it now the icon is yellow and it has a blue and a green picture as the app preview. I uninstalled tetris a long time ago so it has the download option on mine.I'm not going to attempt to download.

So it's definitely tetris then? Just with a buggy market entry?

I'm not sure. When I look up tetris, it shows up normally. When i look up testapps it shows the glitchy thing.maybe it's something that came with tetris? Anyway doesn't google recently for malware apps?
Sent from my R800x using XDA
Wait, where do you see tetris normally? It doesn't show in the market app list anyway...
It's only appeared since the lasted market update, which made some of our other bloatware appear in that list too. I'd say it's just a bloatware version of Tetris, instead of just using the normal download of it.
Updated OP with the solution.
Wasn't it convenient just to be able to scroll to the bottom of My Apps and then look at your purchased but not yet installed apps? Is there an easy way to do this on Google Play? Maybe I'm just stupid but I haven't found anything.
Not really. Other than going to the right page to the all apps.

They should have three pages imo. Installed, paid, all.
Or at least put all your paid apps first in the "all" list. I've downloaded a lot of apps. My list goes on for damn near ever and I can't find all my paid apps unless I feel like scrolling for over an hour.
