You are choosing to flash a .zip from an SD card right?

yes... Do it have to be internal storage or the sdcard?

try internal, or try it several times from sd card

This is what happens
Updating modem.....
script aborted (no error message)E:Error in /emm
c/EK02_Modem .zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

http://bit.ly/EK02_Modem
did you use that one?
try redownloading it

I'm having the same exact problems. I tried from SD Card and Internal Storage, both yield the same results. And I am on the EG30 Modem. Using Blazer 1.2, Android Version 2.3.4, Kernel: Rogue *Stock EK02* v1.1.1 (New 11/30/11)

still the same.....

use the zip that expertzero1 posted.

The update does a patch to the kernel also, so you must have the stock EG30 ROM, modem & kernel for the update to fully pass.

[ACS][Odin]Stock EG30 Odexed with Root 3.0/Busybox 1.18.4

Big thanks to RoadRAGEN for helping me figure out an ext4 issue! Odin this to get Odexed stock EG30 with latest root and su binary and Busybox 1.18.4.
This does not wipe data.
I am not responsible for anything that happens to your phone. You do this at your own risk.
I have only tested this with the stock kernel and Bubby's CWM kernel.
Download
IMPORTANT: Make sure you have installed the proper XP or Win7 drivers before starting. Also, remove the SD card from the phone (this may not be necessary, but having the SD card installed has caused Odin to fail for a number of people, so might as well just do it).
1. Extract the contents of the zip file to a folder
2. Open odin
3. Put your phone in download mode (Shut it off, wait for lights to all go out, then hold v-down + power)
4. connect phone (you should see odin put a Com4 or something like that in the first box. The actual number is NOT important what is important is something popped up there when you connected your device, meaning ODIN can see it)
5. The only box that should be checked is Auto Reboot.
6. You do not need to choose a pit file.
7. In the PDA Section choose the tar file. (Odexed-Rooted-Busybox-EG30.tar)
8. Hit start. It will do its thing.
9. If it fails than try a new cable.
10. If the phone hangs for any reason take the battery and sdcard out and let it sit for an hour. Put it back together and try again.

Yes. That is what I have done in testing.
So with this we will have as stock of a ROM as we can currently have, yet still have root and busybox? By stock, I mean the default, out of the factory stock ROM which many claim does not have the LOS issues? Just confused somewhat...
Dude, major win here. Good work!

[Discussion] Rogue FC06 Repack

Questions/Comments/Issues go in here
Restoring Gingerbread Images
I am attempting to use rogue_ET_recovery_1.2.2_FC06 to restore to a Android 2.3 backup. I have tried to restore a couple of backups, in each case, I am getting a MD5 mismatch. Each time I did a OS backup, recovery did create a MD5 sum.
These backups are located on the external sd card.
Are there any tools that can parse the backups and verify MD5 sums?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks.

nvm its restoring the data. it had an option to let me choose which to restore. i am going to assume data is contacts and the like at least i hope so . i had 2.3.4 or 2.3.6 on there. don't remember which.

I used odin EL29 + CWM to get back to 2.3.6, but still encountered MD5 mismatch when I attempted to restore several backups of Blazer rom. I finally had to flash via recovery the Blazer rom. I did happen to rename the backup folders at the time of the backups. I read somewhere else in the forum where renames with spaces will clobber MD5 checksum.
Thanks.

Problem Flashing Roms

I'm currently running the stock EL29 with root and CWM but whenever I try to install a custom rom (AOPK, CM9, etc...) through CWM, it says "Instillation Aborted" as if they weren't made for this phone when I know they were. What's going on?

Try going back to gingerbread and flashing the EL26 kernal. Then flash the ICS rom you want through that recovery.
AOKP and CM9 have problems with data. every time you or system turn off screen say goodbye to data until 1.enable disable airplane mode or 2.reboot that's the main reason I stay away from these awesome roms until source arrives.
These roms are the best. IMO
1.odin back to stock el29 full reset oc
2.boot update profile and prl
3.copy the rom files to sd
4.turnitoff it off
4.enter download mode and flash el26+cmw for AOKP or el29+cwm direct boot for CM9
5.clear cache, factory data reset, clear dalvik on advance menu
6.go back and select install zip from sd card and choose the rom and flash it
7.flash gapps if apply
8.go back and select reboot system
9.enjoy these awesome roms.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
I think I FINALLY got it to work. I started stock with rooted EL29 Odin-OC, flashed the "StockCWM-EL26.tar.m5d" in Odin, flashed the AOKP build 37 rom, flashed gapps, then flashed the FE16 kernel AND modem. When I rebooted the data was working.
Not that I am advocating this, and I am far from an expert, but I odin flash a stock rooted rom (SPH-D710.FC22_CL287574_ROOTED-oc-sfx) without going back to el29 just to have a nice clean stock rom to flash over with something else (like FIFO2). I just try to make sure I do everything in the same session so I don't get stuck in a stock recovery.
My order when flashing (non-Odin):
calkulin's format all
Modem (sometimes...if newer is available)
Rom
Kernel (with a custom recovery; sometimes the roms come with a stock recovery so if you reboot before installing a custom one, you'll have to either use odin to flash a custom recovery or mobile Odin)
any additional items that the rom didn't include (like gapps, etc.)
reboot
---------- Post added at 02:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:58 AM ----------
Another thing to keep in mind is that AOKP was ported to the E4GT. That could cause issues depending on what you're coming from. Make sure to read all the instructions from the dev before flashing. If the worst happens, buy insurance on your phone and smash it...That's what I did with my evo when I bricked it.

[Q] Updating to newer rom

So i recently received a phone from my cousin.
Fairly new to the android scene. However, id like to update the phone to Jellybean.
Can someone point me to a guide that I can follow to get it on a JellyBean Rom?
The stats on the phone, which is on Sprint, is as follows:
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: S710.10 S.EL29
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-SPH-D710.FE22-CL612283
Build Number: RUJELUS22 The Blu Kuban Fe10 1.0.3.7
Hardware Version: d710.10
Rogue ET Recovery 1.2.3 (v5.0.2.8)
Thanks for any help.
Are you looking for a TW type of ROM or AOSP /AOKP? What features are you looking for?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Id be looking for root access, tethering, decent battery life (if it exists), something with decent speed
That is an older version of Blu Kuban. Check out the development section and pay close attention to the directions in the OP of the rom. Not all kernels are safe for flashing.
I would start with a one click rooted rom and go from there. The current jsllybean leak JB08 is running nicely.

Kernels that have the emmc bug patched have safe recoveries. EL26 recovery is a safe recovery because it's a gingerbread kernel and the bug didn't exist. So flash the kernel, boot into recovery, flash that rom and you're good to go. There's also a el29 direct boot kernel somewhere around here. I use that all the time. The recovery you're on is not safe so don't try flashing anything or wiping the data. You can flash kernels with a program called Odin or an app called mobile Odin. Everything I've mentioned you can find on xda. Mobile Odin you can get on the play store. I think there is a lite version on xda but I'd recommend getting the pro version and supporting the development.

I recommend using a decent internet connection while downloading. 3G might cause a bad download. 4G or Wi-Fi for the download. I prefer Wi-Fi.
1. Download the EL26 CWM recovery.
2. Download the ROM.
3. Download the necessary Gapps.
4. Flash the EL26 recovery with either A. Mobile Odin or B. PC Odin.
5. Press up then down then up then down to enable pressing the power button to select the highlighted option.
6. Wipe data/factory reset.
7. Install zip from SD card. Select the ROM from wherever it is on the SD. Most likely in the Download directory. Select yes to begin flashing.
8. Install zip from SD card. Select Gapps from wherever it is on the SD. Select yes to flash Gapps.
9. Reboot and profit.

Awesome! thanks. I will go ahead and give it a shot now.
Got it working. However, the guide mentions using a version of google apps that built for 4.2.1. Took me some googling but found the build for 4.2.2 http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
Thanks again.
