I have just ordered myself one of these phones of Amazon as I am sick of my Xperia Mini Pro and it's ****ty internal memory.
Now I find out the Wildfire S has the same problem (and it's not much larger than the mini pro which annoyed me)
Is there any work around for this? If not I shall be returning it.
Thanks guys an gals.
Good research there... Once you get s -off and rooted you'll be fine.

I'm bad for impulse buying, plus I assumed HTC wouldn't be as retarded as Sony Ericsson, sure showed me.
But glad to here that I will be fine, so what exactly do I need to do? I've changed firmware on my Xperia before but I imagine the HTC will be slightly different..
Cheers for the fast reply.
Edit: Nevermind I have seen the thread, thanks.

OFFICIAL NEWS...SORRY GUYS
What devices will not get Android 4.0?
We work hard to ensure each of our products has the optimal user experience and therefore some products will remain at their current version of Android. In general, devices with 512MB ROM or less will not be upgraded to Android 4.0. These devices include the HTC ChaCha, HTC Salsa, HTC Wildfire S, HTC Explorer, and others.
Thank the devs for CM9
I think it's been pretty clear from the beginning that the WFS is not a candidate for HTC ICS. Therefore:

Just sharing the news for the ones that dont know
Y they r launching desire c which has got 512 mb ram with ics?
They r dumb people...just interested in launching new one....any way we have to thank them for desire c, for providing better chance for sense 4 porting

i'll be a very rude person and stick to my cyanogenmod 9
which has much better battery life and lasts more than half of the day

Because ROM and RAM are not the same thing. 512MB RAM is fine, but 512MB of ROM (Stupid naming, as it isn't really read-only) is a problem when you toss in sense on top of base android. It would leave you practically no space for apps (which is already an issue on GB) or anything without link2SD or similar, which HTC isn't going to be doing as stock. For example, my incredible S (which is getting ICS) has a full 1.1GB of ROM, so they have loads of space to play with.
There's people in the dev section working to port the golf (aka desire c) ICS rom to the wildfire S. They're only able to get it to fit via extra optimizations (deodexing, pngcrush, stripping optional stuff, etc.)that HTC wouldn't be interested in using.
Yes, no offical ICS for us, but htc says that we will get more software updates

Gingerbread went up to 2.3.7.
But the fixes in those aren't real relevant to the WFS. 2.3.6 fixed a voice search bug and 2.3.7 added wallet support to the nexus S.

I'm using latest IceCold final
Seems that every Desire HD freeze with the game

Dead trigger isnt released in play store for Desire hd. But Apple appstore has it for iphone 3gs. i cant understand them
It was compatible at the begining with our DHD, but it seems that Madfinger remove the DHD from working phones list, maybe because they know that there is a big issue...
I think/hope they will put an update...Dead trigger is also compatible with android phones like galaxy S, defy etc...it's just a issue with the DHD (I'm not sure if other adreno 205 phones have the same problem)

I tested it in my Desire HD and it's working.
As I could see here a Nexus One has a fully working MIUI ICS rom on MIUI United States site. Also, as much as I know both N1 and Desire has the same hardware under the hub, so porters I don't see any reason not to see it on Desire.
I'm not able to do that but I can chalenge you.

If you read the thread you will see that this rom has the same problems as all the rest. Mainly handling video recording and playback. The kernel is still 2.6 and the rom base is definately based on evervolv sources. So, no there's nothing new in this rom.

IMo, it wins coz of its screen size although the resolution is same i think
saw the DHD forums and it seems it has many ROMS out there
But if u choose the One V, you'll not regret it
Gr8 ROMS by 1cebox and more to come
one v has a gr8ter "battery capacity"
Even in this day of newer phones, the DHD is still a great phone. I loved the DHD, and wish I still had mine. Great development for it, that's my reason.

Anyone used both phone before? Which phone camera is better? I know One V is 5mp while DHD is 8mp. But DHD is 2010 phone while HOV is 2012, maybe got different 5mp camera last year and 8mp camera 3 years ago? Which camera win?
go 4 DHD
DHD.I have both phones and the DHD eats up the One V.The DHD is super fast and has a pretty good camera as well.
Just make sure you don't stay on the stock ROM on the DHD.Unlock your BL and flash away any 4.2 rom.

you don't need to root it, just unlock the BL, if it's on latest f/w in order to flash any ROM you have to unlock the BL first.you're gonna need latest hboot to unlock BL from htcdev, so make sure you have .0029.
