I think my phone has issues. My capacitive buttons go crazy and then unresponsive, and my phone kicks itself into roaming mode quite often.
Does anyone know what Sprint would do for me if I went in to them with it? (I'd obviously unroot beforehand)
Is anyone else having this problem?

So here's my scenario, I let a friend of mine borrow my phone for a couple of hours for work and ever since he returned it my 4 capacitive buttons have been acting up, my menu button presses itself it seems and I cannot hold down the home button to review my recent apps or access the task manager because my phone reboots itself . I do not know what he did or if he messed around with it but according to him he didn't do anything. Is there anyway anyone can help me remap the buttons to stock? Any help is appreciated, Thank You!

Maybe liquid damage?

I'd try an odin to factory reset and see if it's software related. If its still acting up after a reset then it'll be a hardware problem.

I think its software related because my search button vibrates once on press and then it vibrates again on release, do any of you guys know how to remap the buttons?

If you're not rooted, have you tried doing a reset?
phone settings > privacy > factory data reset
will wipe your data but agree with the earlier posters... if doing a factory reset doesn't fix it, it's probably a hardware issue (perhaps water damage).
Are you running maddogins lockscreen mod?

Time to tell your friend to buy you a new phone!
Sounds like LD. Try the reset if you can, and hope for the best.

I've done a hard reset a couple of times and the problem is still there. I'm starting to think it is hardware related, the weird thing is that I've had the phone since it was released and it never gave me these problems until recently..

What about cleaning the entire glass really well? Maybe an oily smudge causing issues?
Did u figure it out yet? I certainly wouldn't be letting my friends borrow my phone again.

I found this to be true so i uninstalled and home button fixed!
but the menu button is still acting up... I have decided that it's hardware related so i will be getting my phone replaced, thank you guys for the help.
I just got a new sgs2 thru a warranty exchange, but for some reason this one doesnt have a lockscreen. I press the power button and It just opens to my homescreen, also when I hold the power button it just shuts down instead of giving me the lil options of shutting down, airplane, etc. will installing a ROM fix these issues or do I gotta get a new one again?? Thanks

Yes a new rom should clear this up np. the rom im using actually gives you the option to remove the lockscreen all together. the prior user of your phone must have removed the lockscreen.... Either that or they have some shady software program that restores the phones at tmobil.

I wonder if Widget Locker alone is enough to fix your problem.
So I was listening to music on my phone with slim bean and it fell behind the bed and when I found it all it does is say Samsung and vibrate in a consistent pattern. Also if I remove the battery and put it back in it vibrates as soon as battery/charger is connected. Does this mean it somehow got in bootloader mode? If so is their a way to get it out without my PC? I tried getting into twrp but. No avail.

These is a similar thread floating around here where people have had this issue when using Pandora. See if you can search for it.

Thank you, I fell into a noob panic. Thanks for calming me down lol. Looks like I may have a power button issue on my hands

No problem. I knew there was something on it but didn't know the details. People have also had a similar problem with Pandora. Don't know if that's what you were listening to, but there seems there's a problem with Pandora and the latest roms.

I was listening to music from my SD card. I got it to boot
But I didn't have the similar in and when I rebooted it it did the same thing. Also got it to load the tarp splash and it rebooted then and I can see the screen flicker like it was booting and the power button was pressed. Looks like I'm going to have to send it off. Hope I can get it replaced for free if not I'm gonna look at a different phone.

Hey guys,
I have an issue that didn't affect me much at first, but it seems like its happening a lot more lately. When I tap the back or menu key, its like the button sticks, it keeps pressing itself over and over again so fast. I usually just lock the phone to make it stop.
I have tried different Roms, but I guess that has nothing to do with it.
Has anyone experienced this? If so, did you fix it?
I have experienced this.....the only why I could find to fix it was to return my device. Sorry this probably didnt help you much.

This is a hardware issue and needs to be replaced.

I've started noticing when I'm plugged into an outlet and using my fingers, the touchscreen gets really nasty with me. Pressing buttons I haven't touched, no response except from s pen in landscape mode... Anyone else noticed this issue? It only ever happens when it's plugged in. My Atrix used to do this too.
Edit: noticed it started doing this vertical not plugged in. What's going on?

sounds defective...I'd exchange it..
I'm gonna try and do that tomorrow. It's just under the 15 day thing at Best Buy.
