I'm not at home and would like to revert to stock. Is this possible without a computer? I'm on FXP049 kernal and ROM on an R800x.

Not really, unless someone creates a flashable zip with stock fw using a rom creator and transfers it you by bluetooth, but that would be stupid because in the time it's taken to transfer a bluetooth file you could have put on a computer, run flashtool, dl'd the stock ftf, flash the phone, gone to a pub and had a beer
Thank you for the prompt response.

that wouldn't work as you can't flash kernel via recovery

Hello,
Can someone help me find a link to a working stock unrooted rom in a zip format. I need to flash it and do not have access to a windows computer but all the files that I have found are no longer working links. I need this by tomorrow I have to take my phone to Sprint due to an issue with my hardware.
Thank you,
You said no access to Windows PC - how about ANY PC, including Mac/Linux? If so you can use Heimdall.
If not, how about this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459529&highlight=el29
mobile odin is what you are looking for. Check it out in the market. You can flash .tar files from your phone.
I do have a Mac and I have used heimdall to flash kernel many times but I have never used it to flash roms and I do not know how to do it. I will look into the mobile odin.
Is it safe to flash full rom tar files through mobile Odin?

Hello guys, I am still having problems finding a stock eg30 or el29 in a zip format to flash in recovery. I tried using a windows computer to use the one click root but it stops working about 20 seconds in.
Thank you all in advance.

Can you provide any more information on the problem that you're having? Might also help to know what you're currently running and if there are any issues beyond the ODIN OC problems mentioned.
I am running a calkulin 1.0 because I was relying to find a rom that at least looks stock. I have tried Odin and all it does to my phone is leave a message to connect to Kies for recovery. I reflash a kernel and fix it but all it seems to take is flashing using recovery.

Did you try the stock rom in the link I provided before? You should be able to do that by CWM.
Use mobile Odin and flash the tar files here ....

That is the generic behavior if an ODIN flash does not complete.
What does the log say in ODIN OC?
That will give insight into why it is failing.
You can also take the ODIN OC files (or the individual .tar.md5 in the 2nd post of the ODIN OC threads) and feed them to Mobile ODIN (after unpacking the 7zip self extractors)
That link just seems to be modems not rooms.

You can't flash firmware (FTF) from your phone. You have to use flashtool.

Perhaps be more clear next time too. And you're welcome.

To help gain some clarity, as you've not provided some crucial information:
Do you have root?
Did you actually install CWM?
If you've done both of these you can flash any zip that was made for the LT28. If you're trying to flash a zip for another model it's likely not going to work. I avoid flashing mods, opting instead to install them manually.
All of this is covered in the ion forum if you bothered to reeeeead.
I thought it was a givin that I had root I spose not tho I was pretty clear. The only reason I was a bit curt was because I had "not roms" in brackets.
The zip files im trying to install have to do with the audio player so they are probably more of a driver type thing. My firmware is stock, rooted CWM Rom is not installed I have the CWM app and it says there is no recovery for this phone stock ics rooted locked boot. And yes I have been searching but havent found much useful yet.

You need to connect device to computer for almost all aspects. Root , cwm, mods etc.
You need to solve the pc issue first then look into mods and such.
Also if root you can manually replace the file with root explorer from the extracted zip

You don't need the clockwork app. Just install the cwm found in android development section. Must use a computer. It's as simple as pressing a. Bat file

Type this "cwm recovery for xperia ion" or this "clockwork recovery for xperia ion" in google search and come back and tell us what you found.
Our phones will not boot into recovery from cwm all we really have is flashmode. Yes some zips can be flashed through cwm such as themes and what not from the Xperia s but you need to match mounting points and what not, if you flash a bad zip you may get a boot loop if that's the case just shut the phone off then run flashtool reflash the. Ftf and you'll be fine.

You mentioned CM10 on OP, then PAC... I'm confused.
The believe its the boot.img if you look into the zip. Use es file explorer and you'll see what I mean
Sent from my Jellybean Xperia S
kernel can be found in Rom zip, with the name boot.img. extract it from the zip file.
u can always flash back this boot.img to your device after u flash another kernel and feel u dont like it.
flash boot.img using flashtool or using cmd fastboot method.
Thanks for info thread closed

or if by any chance you know how to sideload a backup?
I have an Arc LT15i with stock ICS. I want to flash CM 10 onto it, but I read the firmware must be updated to spoof an LT18i.
My current build/firmware is 4.1.B.0.431.
The USB port is damaged and cannot connect to a computer, so is there anyway to get CM10 on this? Flash in recovery?
Your help is much appreciated

Nope, unless you fix your USB port you're not going to flash anything.

just small mods. (like some apk's & so on) but most roms require latest kernel or even a custom kernel. maybe you look to fix your usb port
Meh, I just got a S5. I use the Arc for news and casual stuff to save battery. Just keeping it as a media player really.
