Although my Artemis shows 60 % free program memory, this ROM is still painfully slow.
i've download now n will try...
Thanks for the rom!
Like user above, runs very slow on the main menu but once in file explorer etc it's just as fast.
Time to upgrade the phone??
3rd wm 6.5 rom p3300
I have tried all 3 version of this ROM,
nice look but very very slow on my artemis.
today TITANIUM good, Honeyconbs slooooow other apll quite fast,
IGO8 breeze, tt7 slow.
I hope that some1 can make this fast than today.
it was lag & makes my phone hang... this ROM requires more RAM...
anyway thanks uploader... something new...
tested it for 20 minutes.
TOO SLOW on Artemis.
downloaded and tested for a day or so now
the titanium is better than in previous versions, seems to run smoothly and integrates well at last...good to see the clock finally making a propper appearance in there
also the first chance to play with the new honeycomb interface.
unfortunately the jury is still out on this one.
my view is that it's more of a hinderance than anything else at the moment.
This totally replaces the start menu. Click on the start button and you're taken straight into the honeycomb interface. I wasn't expecting this behaviour from it...i thought it would be more of a today plugin replacement or something, and if it's going to behave like this on new roms it needs to be
a)quick
and
b) easy for you to find your programs or settings that you want.
Personally i dont think it does this yet.
You can click and hold to bring any app into the "favourites" part of the comb, which means you can now "pin" your favourite apps...mcuh like your last used apps used to automatically appear at the top of the start menu.
Unfortunately i think finding anything more than you favourite 5 or 10 progs would quickly become a real pain in the ass.
let me give a quick random example
on a "classic" style rom, let say you want to go to the "SMS SETTINGS" app....you'll go to start , settings, hit the communications tab at the bootom and choose SMS SETTINGS
on this i'll go to start, straight into the honeycomb. From experience i know that it's not in here (which is good becuase this is now a looong page to look in) so i choose the SETTINGS cell. now all i can see is 7 cells and remember there are no tabs here anymore so this is ALL of your settings. I've got About, backlight, bluetooth, buttons , certification, and clocks and alarms. Anything else i have to start randomly scrolling and searching so i start moving downwards. Eventually find it on the 12th cell on the left That's 12 'Down clicks'. If i wanted WLAN SETTINGS or something i would have to do a lot more scrolling. Everything is alphabetically sorted which helps, but it's a 3 colum system and so you still need to read ALL of the available options and you need to know EXACTLY what that app is called (is it TOMTOM or NAVIGATION? Is it under T or N ? etc...you get the gist)
I hope they are still experimenting with this interface becuase i think it looks good and COULD, if done right, be a really nice feature for the WM6.5 system...but it still needs some fundamental work before it works well. Remember how, from the concept art, we through it would be a 2d scrolling 'intellingent' list...it's not. It's stricly up and down alphabetical.
I can't quite put my finger on what it IS that's wrong with it...but there is SOMETHING...it just takes too lonk to find what you need at the moment. Maybe it's just unfamiliarity and it'll all become clear after a few days use, after all i've had 5 years of experience with the old system...the same as lots of people switch vista and XP's interface into win2k mode becuase they know where everything is. I always plead with those gus to stick with it and learn the newer systems becuase they usually DO make sense....but this time i cant see it yet
The new lock mechanism also needs some work. they've obviously tried to emulate a slide-to-unlock mechanism without making it TOO similar to the iphone....unfortunately this means that you get the small blue slider we've all seen on the screenshots at the top-center of the screen and sliding it 1cm or 2 to either the left or right unnlocks. I personally think this gives too much scope for accidental unlocking. I mentioned in another thread a while back about how a "shake to unlock" feature would be self defeating. the point of a lock is to make sure that when the phone wakes up becuase of incomming texts or whatever the phone doesnt totally wake up and end up accidentally resetting all of your calendar appointements or calling people while it's in your pocket....you need it to be HARD to unlock accidentally, but not hard to unlock intentionally. The balance is not quite right here either, same as the honeycomb.
it's still in beta and hopefully the whole thing just needs those last few "tweaks" to the functionality and ergonomics before it too "makes sense" but right now i'm more than willing to switch back to dhee's last manilla rom....it's just easier to use. I hope i'm right and that this rom is in BETA for both reliabiliy AND functionality reasons.
theres a lot of potential, but it isn't there yet.
these comments are ALL down to the mew 6.5 system, NOT dhee's rom, which seems to have done everything it can with what it's been given. Considering the clumsyness of the new interface etc this is as good as i could hope for a 6.5 beta rom to be, and i will install his next rom without ANY hesitation.
for anyone wanting to try the new features out, this is the rom to go for, but i wouldn't blame anyone for not keeping it for too long
thanks again dhee for a great rom, i just hope you get an improved system to pass on to us next. I'll probably leave this one for another day or so to see if it grows on me, jstu like i gave XP and vista's new interfaces a chance.
he's now updated it with an M2D version, link : http://pirun.ku.ac.th/~fscinrn/Download/Pawaj_65_M2D.7z
will flash and let you know, i'm not convinced there's enough room on this rom for M2D too but who knows, he usually pulls it off well
NOTE the download is ONLY an NBH file
rom 6.5 M2D NEW
I have flashed 3 times my artemis with this ROM but always, after reboot wake up one error and auto reboot, so, for me is not working
I hope that someone can fix it.

Same result ... And i flash once - device reboot, show me white screen, show error message and reboot again. Back to YuE WM 6.1 firmware. Waiting for stable release.
yeah, the M2D version didnt work for me....reverted back to his earlier 6.5 Beta 2 version with M2D becuase i dont think the honeycomb and titanium is quite ready yet
very very slow.. also the menu is not very much clear

This one is not from dheewatara, and was one of the first roms to include WM6.5.
So far DJ M2D WM6.5 5.0 UL is the quickest and smoothest.
i found DJ M2D WM6.5 5.0 UL to be the same speed as the 2nd rom with M2D from dheewatara, but dheewatara's rom has the newer camera version (with panorama mode) and a slightly newer rom version if i remember correctly. I'm sticking with that one for now
we beg pardon for my terrible English :-[ , I wanted hear there is version room without additional programs ( light ) plz give reference
Hi ppl,
All the links give error .... not found....
Can someone give me a positive link?
Hi any re-uploaded links?
Thanks
i have tried many cooked roms based on wm 6.1, now i see there are many chef that are cooking their roms using wm6.5.
Who have tried both can give is impression for understand if its time to jump to wm 6.5 based roms or its better to wait future releases(maybe the offical one)???
its up to u
but I will stay with wm6.1 and wait for the official 6.5
I will suggest WM6.1 only. Fully developed, has what you need! If you're so obsessed with the hexagon start menu, got for 6.5 else wait for WM7.
Even the Pop-Up menu improvements are better in Topaz based ROMs than WM6.5
Regards,
Carty..
For me WM 6.5 is very nice.
When navigated through the heart of WM, 6.5 is more finger friendly. Trying both though is a must before deciding as this is once again personal preference.
Flash both and see...besides, you get to practice flashing....

what about speed(tf3d navigation),apps compatibility and stability?there are huge differences?
I find 6.5 to be a bit quicker overall and more finger friendly, the use of menus is much more intuative. Bioscoll is absolute rubbish in comparison to the kinetic scrolling of WM6.5. In drop down menus, like when changing notification settings, you can finger scroll in the drop down boxes. In email the scrolling through the email is quick and smooth as it is in text messages.
Get a 6.5 rom, make sure it doesnt have bioscroll on it and you will see the HUGE improvement.

Hallo,
im searching for a possibility for getting the cool new 6.5 scroll mode into 6.1 roms... u know what i mean?
in 6.5 you dont have to use the scroll bar - u can scroll by tap and hold and then move your finger... is this possible in 6.1 as fluent as under 6.5?
?
As far as I know, WM6.5 has has a new "kinetic" scrolling engine. Now I'm not a ROM-cooker, but I'm guessing that this will be very hard to port to WM6.1, let alone make it installable via a .CAB ...
There's something called FTouchSL for Windows Mobile 6.1 that does about the same thing, but from what I've heard, it's quite unstable. And you have to pay for it.

Beyond that feature WM 6.5 has some more advantages. Flash one of the new ROMs and you will have a stable and reliable ROM including the new scrolling mode
There wouldnt be any point in anyone porting the engine. Considering you will almost definately have to flash a new ROM for this (if it were ported), you might aswell flash a 6.5 ROM.
Yeah i used the miri 6.5 roms for a long time... but wanted to try the ultrafast (not in my oppinion) laurentius 3.2 rom (only winmo 6.1)
But i think the winmo 6.5 is so comfortable to use - but not bugfree!
The thin i miss most is the new scroll function - everything else is ok under 6.1
After I upgrade to the new 6.5 Rom with T-mobile.. I found something odd. Certain programs I was able to move the pages up and down by flick scroll the screen. But now every time I tried to do that, it highlights the text instead.. The only way i can move the page is use the scroll bar on the right. Any body know how to change the setting or registry for this? Thanks
If your original rom was 6.1, you were using HTC's touchflo scrolling, but with 6.5 you're using Microsoft's built in flick scrolling. Ironically, the Microsoft scrolling seems to have problems with some .NET programs (you'd think those would work the best since it's MS). I don't know of any fix other than switching back to the HTC touchflo but that's not as fluid so I just put up with the few apps that don't work with the MS version.
Yeah my original rom was official T-mobile 6.1 . I just upgrade to 6.5 rom with this problem.. It is kind of silly Microsoft scrolling was worse than touch flo one.. I guess I will just ignore this since there is no fix for it . Thank you.

Hi All
Actually there is, but it is a bit of a PITA.
Go here:
http://www.ftouchsl.com/
This proggy enables scrolling in virtually anything. I had an issue with a simple 'Note' file, you would think that it would scroll natively, but no.
I use this proggy to enable it. One caveat, it dicks with other apps that are OK, so you need to exclude those from the prog as exceptions - this is a drag, but once you have a list, you can export it and re-import it if you need to hard reset.
It isn't perfect, but i have looked for a simpler solution with no luck. Silly thing is, that Word will scroll, but bloody Notes will not - stupid.
Anyway, i hope that helps you...
Cheers
Jabberoo
I just upgraded my Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 to WM 6.5 and have the following questions:
1) With WM 6.1 there used to be a pulldown button in the top right corner of the screen that would allow you to see what applications where running and to close anything that were no longer needed. This is no longer available in WM 6.5, can anyone tell me how to see what applications are currently running on my phone with WM 6.5?
2) With WM 6.1 when selecting my Favorite Contacts I was given an option to Call, email, text the person. Now with 6.5 it immediately calls the individual without giving any other options. Since I text most of the time this feature is really missed.
I'm sure these can be solved by changing some option in my phone, if anyone could help me out it would be appreciated.
unfortunately thats not fixable. the new sense 2.5 is designed that way (poorly imo). I switched back to tf3d and 6.1 for various reasons; this being one of them.
I have the T-Mobile version.
1) The item is still there, just with a different style. (This could be T-Mobile only).
2) Click on the icon on the far right side of the item.
well two things that can be fixed
1 . little drop down was the task manager so just install this program and itll be back
2 . when you click to add the contact to favorites select view contact card and that will give you the options every time you click on that person .
tseidel you are The Man!
I was just about to ask cirrob how to go back to 6.1 (not at all relishing reinstalling all my apps). cirrob bummer on you having to reinstall 6.1.
So tseidel does the cab just change a registry entry?
The Favorite fix isn't quite as slick as 6.1 but infinitely better than nothing.
Thanks again!
no actually it adds the old task manager thats y if you go to programs task manger it looks dif but its serves the same purpose
6.5 has many quirky issues. Of all the cooked ROMs I've tried, the official T-Mobile 6.1 was the fastest, most stable, most memory, and most functional of them all. I'm currently using T-Mobile 6.5 as it gets better battery life, location based weather (which I like) and is very stable, but has less RAM and ugly backgrounds.
But I also miss the option for two numbers available on each favorite, the old default keyboard (you had to use a stylus with), and the recently opened programs in the start menu. Now I have to scroll through a million icons if I can't fit the program on my prog tab.
1- Install "Dutty's Task Manager" and you have back old button for task
huh.....
Im running 6.5 and i have the task manager in top right....
go to settings->system->task manager->then one of the tabs. cant remember and phones battery dead so cant be bothered to find out.
its in the somewhere though

This is unnecessarily complicated, since it forces you to choose the contact method every single time.
The correct solution is to do it exactly as in 6.1 and select the preferred contact method for each favorite. When you want to use a different method, tap on the grey name area below the contact picture instead of on the contact picture itself. That will pop up the contact card and allow you pick from among all available contact methods.

I'd be pretty surprised if you're running the official Sprint WM 6.5 ROM, from which this has, in fact, been removed.
It's not hard to install a replacement, but doing so is required in order to get the Task Manager back on this ROM.
THX
to tseidel also... I tried all the 'higher' numbered ones and none worked (on Rho SEA WM6.5 update) but this one!!
I use wk task manager which i found here on xda. it is great I am surprised nobody uses it. I covers the top bar and has little icons of all the programs running. you can click on it to open the program. or you can touch and hold and have a bunch of options. it will take a little playing around to figure out all the options. it also comes with a program launcher that you swipe the screen to bring up. I dont use that feature because I use spb mobile shell which has a great launcer that is completely customizable.
