Does anyone know if there is any difference in rooting method between the EG30 setup or the EK02 update?

Modems(sheesh)!

I'm using the i3 rom with the ec05 modem is that right? The ec05 modem seems 2 work better than the ef02 modem and everytime I switch to the ef02 modem it ALWAYS ask's to update to the ef10 modem and when I do it asks to update back to the ef02 modem lol so I just stay on the ec05 modem

The phone has been having problems receiving data and I need to update it to the latest modem but it seems to fail if I update to ei22. Its currently on froyo. How should I approach this problem?

Why does your sig say Nexus? If on Epic just flash a custom GB ROM and grab the modem flashables from the sticky about modems in the top of Development.

Quick question about flashing roms

If I want to test out a ROM, can I make a nandroid of my current setup, flash a new ROM, then restore my nandroid, and never shed a tear?

That depends on if your using a safe ICS kernel and whether or not your going GB to ICS or vice versa. As long as you use agat ICS kernel you should be safe.

I am currently using an sfhub rooted ICS with agats kernel. I am wanting to try out mijjah's jelly bean build.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Yes you can do that with Agat's kernel. I have been doing it frequently since yesterday. Back and forth dozens of times or more.

Thanks for helping me clear that up! Can't wait to see what this ROM has in store!
