As I was looking at the specs of the G2, I noticed that it does NOT have noise cancelling. When I first got my Nexus, people I called couldn't tell I was outdoors speaking to them.
Has anyone gotten comments regarding background noise from someone on the other end of a conversation?
I had hoped that noise cancelling would be a standard feature after being implemented in the N1.
Any thoughts and experiences would be great as I consider upgrading to the G2.
I'm pretty sure the mic is noise cancelling... from what I can tell. The quality of calls is on par with the MTS which had voice cancelling for sure.
Very good voice quality
Not sure since it doesn't specifically say, but I am getting very good voice quality with my G2. Callers also have confirmed their end is quite clear. Love it.
I thought to have noise canceling u had to have 2 mics? Idk not to knowledgeable on that hardware so correct me if I'm wrong but any N1 owners I've talked to on the phone sound crystal clear =)

It would be hard to converse with an MTS user if the mic was indeed voice cancelling. That's weird.

Yes. One microphone is placed away from your mouth and tells the phone what sound to drop.
I'm quite sure it cancels noise. I have the 3.5mm jack plugged into the aux in my Nissan Armada and have asked if the caller hears an echo or other noises and they say "No, it sounds like you are on a phone in a quiet room"
Does anyone know where the noise cancelling mic is located on the Galaxy Nexus? I'm thinking of getting a case but don't want the case to cover that second mic.
Thanks!
Looking at the back of your phone, look at the top of the battery lid, to the right of the camera lens. It is right there, small hole.
It is not a noise cancellation mic.
That is the mic for hands-free call and (i think) for videorecording.
But I'm sure that isn't for noise cancellation
There is no noise cancellation on the GN for phone calls. Some have suggested that it's there for video recording, but I haven't seen an example of that.
Thinking of picking one of these up for video chats, anyone got one and have any comments on speaker / microphone quality for 1 or more people?
Looking for louder, more clear audio than whats built into the handset speaker
People are telling me when I am on speakerphone there is a lot of echoing and it sounds terrible. Anyone else? Suggestions?
And also only the bottom firing speaker works in speaker mode.

So guys, how's the loudspeaker on this device? The voice loudness and clarity is good for call conference on loudspeaker?
Yep very loud and good speaker in the earpiece.
It gets pretty loud. Weird thing is the loudspeaker is right where the earpiece is, which helps so you don't have to turn your phone onto the glass to get the best sound from the back of it.
Seriously thinking about getting the JBL Moto mod for it.
