[Q] Where is the Bluetooth Stack located? - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hey guys, this has been an ongoing problem since the last epic i had, which is the crappy bluetooth audio quality. I know for a fact that its a touchwiz thing because i didn't have this issue with my Nexus S. Only the Epic, and the Epic touch. Since so many people have really dodged trying to fix the solution (Other than certain ROMs) I just wanted to know where I can find the Bluetooth Stack to maybe try to fix it myself. I'm running a rooted stock kernel. Please just point me in the right direction and I'll take all the chances after that myself. Thanks a lot guys.

not positive but pretty sure its in system/bin

[Q]Any problems with GPS with rooted phone or custom rom?

Greetings folks. I'm a soon-to-be owner of a GS2 and I currently own an old Samsung Moment. One issue with rooting the moment, is that with the latest roms, the GPS is either not working or lost a significant amount of accuracy.
When I get my GS2 I'm planning on rooting it and putting on one of the delicious roms on offer here. My question is, has anyone experienced any issues with the GS2 GPS after rooting or applying one of the custom roms. This is a big deal for me as I travel a lot and would love to have great GSP functionality.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.
GPS works great with both stock rooted and custom roms.

Thank you, good to hear.
I haven't had any.

I had a Vibrant (Galaxy S) and it would only lock on outside and took about a minute. Now with the S2, it locks on in the house, and only takes about 10 secs to get a postion. Both stock and rooted.

my previous reply to the same topic here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19259880&postcount=7
I have not had any issues before or after rooting my SGS2
No problems here...ROOTED on STOCK ROM
Hi, I rooted and GPS is not working now. No GPS icon visible at all, forget satellites being visible the GPS icon itself does not turn on by the looks of it. I should warn that its not clear that the problem was seen due to Rooting or happened already before as i brought the phone over from Japan and rooted to remove the SIM lock so wasn't using the GPS worked in UK till after rooting it. I had used the GPS in Japan and it worked fine.
I am inclined to think HW fault here due to number of forums on this with no solution and some warranty claims are just replacing without asking, if anyone has any other suggestion then do let me know ..
BTW: I have not changed any ROM's or reflashed, and also have cleared the cache using GPS status app, problem seems to be that GPS is not turning on at all.

[ Nexus CDMA ] Still current? Issues with data and no audio bug?

Im not on verizon, yet... But Im contemplating on coming over from good ol' Sprint haha. I seen in here and from a member that there was/is a data dropping bug in the software? Is this still prominent? I know AOSP roms show the signal differently, but still produce the same speeds, or is this bug unrelated to that?
And lastly, he said that there was a bug that wouldnt allot audio to be heard in certain calls at times. Is this still true?
Reason for me asking, is if I came to Verizon then I would go Nexus, if these are very spread out then I wouldnt touch it. Im looking to make my move in the next twenty days or so.
You'll see lots of reports of bugs on the CDMA GNex. Some are more common than others. Long threads on all of them.
Could be the demographics of this forum, but the CDMA GNex seems to have a larger number of (and/or more frequently occurring) bugs.
Thanks man. I'll take a look around for more info on it. Im just trying to make the right jump to the carrier that I'll end up going with. Is the new update supposed to fix these issues with the GNex?

im new here!

guys im fixing to buy a white galaxy s2, what should i be concern about? is the root method easy, kernels, roms, is there anything hiding from samsung? like im coming from the amaze, htc havent released the wifi drivers for it and have no s-off, just wondering if you guys has had any problems with this phone, and how is the development here is, is it dead or alive?
Well look around lol. Rooting is easy as pie, everything else is based on your preference. Many solid gingerbread roms and kernels here
Were on the brink of some great releases...thanks to a recent ics leak there are all kinds of rooms being cooked up. I'd say its a great time to buy one within a few weeks we should have some great ics roms.

You don't need to worry about s-off like HTC phones. Just put the phone in download mode and flash clockworkmod, then install whatever ROM you want. It is much to root easier than any HTC phone I have rooted. Samsung also has released all source code up to the latest update. No one has had problems besides the same that exist with all phones. As for development with the skyrocket leak of ICS it is heating up faster than a junkies spoon (see thread below)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577041
thank you guys i just got the phone, love it so far, i think more than the amaze..
im new to samsung though, i know its totally different on rooting and such,
ill start downloading drivers and start rooting!
As someone previously said, development is on the cusp of being current with every other major device. The ICS leak for the AT&T SkyRocket is very crucial for us because the phones are nearly identical.
With that said, the GB roms are all solid but not AOSP with the exception of a couple Kanged CM7's. Not sure if they're working entirely however. There is an AOSP ICS which is what we all crave, but it's only partially working. The TouchWiz (Samsung stock/themed) ICS leak is almost perfect. We just need a native kernel to fix auto-rotation and the little bugs.
The phone's specs are among the best in the world right now lol. YOU WILL LOVE THIS PHONE, I have no doubt about it.
Also, feel free to PM me about any other questions you may have that aren't being answered.

Root and ROMs are great. However we don't have any good ICS kernels because we're still waiting on samsung
ok guys been playing around with some roms and stuff, like some of you said rooting this device was a peace of cake,
loved the megamix ICS rom, the only problem was roration and the calling echo witch you already know.
some of the fixes that i seen for the echo issue dont seen to help mine though,
now i have a question, why do we need a blaze modem?
this phone suppost to be one of the 42mgp of tmobile, if i recall the amaze, the galaxy s2, and now the blaze.

not sure if this has been said, but only flash t989 and i727 skyrocket stuff.
the blaze's modem is just another modem.... rado for HTC that may or may not strengthen your phone's signal. It all depends on your phone and location. I got spotty service here in socal with but when I do have reception.. it is faster. Just too spotty.

"Ghost Touch" Issues

Idk if some of you have heard about the "ghost touch" thing where sometimes when you turn on the screen it'd be like someone was pushing on some of your capacitive buttons and you wouldn't be able to touch or do anything on the screen. Turning off the screen for a couple seconds and turning it on again helps alleviate the problem for me.
How common of a problem is this? It seems that this never used to happen until ICS came around. Is it due to software or hardware like a bad digitizer? Is this something that I should be worried about hardware wise because I'm planning on hanging onto this phone for at least another 6 months and warranty's going to be up soon in a week or two. I'm using The Goodness ROM and agat's kernel if that matters at all. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.
Rf interference with the touchscreen controller in low signal areas.
It happens on some other Samsung phones as well.

Thank you times. I have been wondering what that was.

It used to happen to me all the time, but it hasn't happened in a few months.
It happened a lot on my first etch, but hasn't happened once on my replacement.

Hello. Thank you for all the replies. So overall, is this something that I should be worried about concerning the longevity of my phone? It happens quite often now like maybe 5 times a day when it used to be only once in a long while.
Yup times is right. This happened a lot to me when ICS leaks first came out way back in Feb ?

After trying to figure out what nearby was causing the RF intererence so I could eliminate it, I found this thread which explains that the interference originates in the phones 3G radio, not the environment. I just recently started having this problem, and from reading that thread, I think I didn't notice it before only because I was using a kernel with a fix integrated. So if you are having this problem and don't want to do surgery on your phone, maybe try to find a kernel with the software patch.

This has been happening like crazy lately, ever since Hurricane Sandy and also since running the FK09 JB leak. The Sprint signal in my area went from bad to garbage since the hurricane, not sure if the JB leak is also adding to it or not.
It is so annoying I am tempted to actually buy a different phone even though I love the E4GT.

Agreed Sprint screwed NJ hard as AT&T and Verizon restored services within a week...
On a side note, AT&T's LTE was up and running within 48 hours...Dunno about Verizon cause most of my friends have iPhone's with them. But I was roaming on Verizon full bars the whole time. But guess what happened when I tried to make a call? "Welcome to Verizon, please have a phone card or credit card at handy to make a call". I have roaming under my plan and I would like to use it...especially not crapping out in emergencies.

Bluetooth issues, intermittent

I was fine when I was running stock rom + root... I changed to The People's Rom with Agat's Kernel and noticed intermittent bluetooth connectivity problems with my car then went to CM10 thinking it may be The People's Rom then back to stock w/o root and same issue.. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I am going to donate to whomever can help me fix this because I don't want to switch to a carrier who actually has LTE
Let me know if you need specs of the phone...
Thanks in advance!!
No one has anything? I'll give it took tomorrow then go switch to vzw... now the choice is DNA vs s3

So it's fixed. I slammed the phone in my cup holder cuz I was pissed and figured I'd be getting VZW tonight... ended up fixing the issue oddly enough.
