Hey guys I've searched with no luck, but I'm looking for a game that is 2 player but not on same device. For instance both my wife and I have android phones I was looking for something that could react if both phones are connected to it to play. Like maybe ping pong or puzzle game? Sorry if its not clear can't figure out how to explain it any better.

try looking up Gameloft games.. I just downloaded Modern Combat 2.. and it has multiplayer option that you can open a free account for and play diffrent games online or thru wifi.. and they have a bunch of games to pick from as well..
Word fuedand connect 4 are both multiplayer.
Wordfued man, great game, similar to scrabble. There are several cestos is another good one.
What the Doodle is an amazingly addicting game, and you can play with two players if you both join the same game.

like others said, pick up WordFued. There's a free version that is ad supported and a pay for version that's ad free and like $3.50 (I got a few days ago for $1.50 on the market).
It's scrabble but the board is a little different in the standard game. Also an option to randomize the board but from experience I high suggest against it. Making 300+ point words is overkill and can ruin the game in a turn.
There are other multiplayer games out there as well such as connect4. I've seen a battleship remake that was multiplayer with friends.
all great ideas, not sure though of what im looking for , lets say your playing ping pong and not really through multiplayer like you would on normal games, but between 2 phones , one person has a paddle and the other person the other paddle you swing your paddle and hit the ball and it leaves yoru screen and goes to the other phone.
Does that make sense if not then i have no other way of figuring out how to say it lol
I know what your saying, I've never seen anything similar.
try android.market.com its easier to search through than it is on the phone. Google it as well.
I hear that Words with Friends and Tap Tap Revenge are coming to android sometime in the spring. Those I am positive will have 2 player.

mmm, also comes to mind there are a few air hockey games.
I have GlowHockey, but it's not online multiplayer yet, although it is coming in a future update I believe.

Any of the emulators give you that option... you can find atari all the way to nintendo ds emulators. Can't post those here since they're considered warez
Yup but plays like crap with the keyboard for me. It doesn't feel right when trying to push two keys at once. Like in Mario 3 in order to fly you have to run then jump..yea doesn't work so good lol

i guess... I dont know. how is that different that a regular nes controller? you have to press a and b to run and fly. plus, you can map a button for a+b combo. thats what I do its way better than on screen controls. I doubt, I'll ever get used to touch screen only phones and I'm guessing the MT4G slide will be the last one. I've tried swype and all that stuff. its okay but I'd rather have a real qwerty kb.
I've been playing roms for 2 years now on phone keyboards. Beaten over 50 games and put tons of hours into them. It just takes some getting used to. Its a freaking breeze for me. Even action games.

Ok remapping for ab combo sounds good I'll try that out analog on n64oid practically requires on screen controls lol
Check out the Game Gripper, it works perfectly on my G2.

I remember seeing this thread a while ago.
Today I came over this pretty cool game. The developer doen't advertise the game as supporting h/w keyboard but when I opened the app for the first time I got prompted to set up h/w controls and it works a treat
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.carboncrystal.odyssey&hl=en
I ran across this keyboard a few days ago. I thought I'd share
I am REALLY liking it so far; one of the reasons I went with this phone is because of the large screen. I was hoping that it would be easier on my hands; I'm dealing with an illness that is effecting my ability to use them. The layout using this keyboard definitely enhances that aspect to the Nth degree!
I believe that just because it fits so many more keys onscreen most people will find it more useful than the standard keyboard layout.
Its layout will take some getting used to but I am surprised how fast and intuitive it is to use right away.
So far the best $2.39 I have spent on an app.
here is a screenie of the portrait keyboard I use:
How can you use that keyboard it covers your entire screen lol

Yay at first was like . .uhhhhh ... but then i just tried it and then was really surprised at how easy it was to use. hehehe

I've been playing GBA RPGs for a while on this phone and am looking for some good Android-native RPGs. I was looking at the Final Fantasy ones but I am not paying $7-16 for games I already have on my DS. Any suggestions? Free preferable. I already have Battleheart.

LOL I know! Seems like its everyone deems someone that asks a noob or lazy...
I've been looking for this too! Tried Zenonia, its kool but the 3rd and 4th are pay to play, in game unlockable for cash :/ why is it becoming a tendency?
One thing I've been searching is for a good tactical RPG like Ogre Battle or Final Fantasy Tactics, the closest thing I've found is Spectral Souls and it's $14.99 Reason I haven't bought it yet, thanks to the new 15min limit rebate, I won't know if it's really that good to keep or if I don't run into problems during the download of the extra 1.5GB of data
A good hack/slash RPG is Caligo Chaser, it's $2.99 but worth it. Good controls and decent continuous story line, played it non stop for days.
Another one is Across Age DX, it's a free trial and unlock once you finish the intro phase. The developers compare it to Zelda, but for me it's more like Wild Arms 1 gameplay. They are very similar, tools and co-op with party members. The story seems good so far and the dialog is well put together too. Haven't unlocked it yet, but I will once I clear out some minor debt...
How's Battleheart working for you? Just saw the vid and it seems really good, somewhat a rip off the old FF jobs though :/ Noticed what seemed like Paladin, monk, white mage, dark mage, etc -___-
Edit - I haven't installed any EMUs yet due to onscreen controls being uncomfortable for me, huge hands... I'm considering getting the PS3 control adapter for the phone and use that. forgot what it was and didn't bookmark the site *facepalm*
Kemco makes several that are pretty cheap ($3~4 last I checked). Eve of Genesis and Symphony of Eternity just to name two of them. Gamevil makes one or two. I have Illusia from them. Also downloaded Inotia3 (which is free) a couple of days ago, but I really haven't touched any of them with the exception of Symphony of Eternity.
Like you I've eyed the Final Fantasy games, but I'm not paying that much. Spectral Souls has been on my list too, but again... Not paying $15 for it.
Problem with the free ones is that they're free to play, but to get anything worth getting you have to pay for it... as you know from Zenonia.

The problem with the 15 min is you can't really judge an RPG in 15 min!!! It takes way longer, especially if they have intros/tutorials.
I haven't played Battleheart in a while but I like it......didn't really have a story though. Maybe I did and missed it.
As far as EMUs I haven't been able to gague my phone's battery life at all because I spend almost an hour a day playing Pokemon LeafGreen lmao. My coworkers think I'm nuts now. I paid the $4.99 for VGBA and I have to say it was worth every dime. Especially since I figured out how to transfer my files to the PC and trade with other EMU saves......after I finish up with Pokemon I'm probably going to play Golden Sun which I never got around to but heard is great.

I'm just going to get a flash cart for my DS. Is only $20. I was thinking about buying a PSP too but I'm stick with my DS. If you can pick up a DS Lite for cheap (40-60) and a flash cart for $20 that might be a good investment......
Also, I haven't checked out any of the games suggested but am going to do that this weekend.

I've been considering the DS and flash cart, it's dead cheap. But my better half is most likely going to get the 3DS and it can use the flash card too, but not for 3D games, yet that is.
Was goin for the psp cause of some of the RPGs and FF tactics, though there's the DS one... Idk, now you got me undecided lmao

I'd get the SuperCard DSTWO for the 3DS. It's like $40 depending on where you get it from. There are cheaper ones but from what I know this is the only one that is constantly working as the 3DS firmware upgrades come in.
AND get the PSP lol. The PSP is worth it just for being able to play Final Fantasy 7-9 in my opinion.

Lucky you. I had a PSP a while ago that I had modded but I wound up selling it because I didn't really use it at the time. I wish I had kept it. From looking on EBay/Craigslist I think people are wayyyy overpricing their 3000's.
you don't really need an adapter to use ps3 or wii controllers. They both use Bluetooth and their are neat apps for connecting them, remapping buttons ect....

The shield; while interesting, has always looked like an awkward device without enough focus, direction or market manipulation to be truly successful.
This is just screaming "Archos Gamepad-level fail" and sounds like it's support may fall apart just as fast as Tegra Zone did. Xperia Play; on the other hand, flipped the switch on every reviewer that tried to bash it, and STILL has actually had it's rate of game development grow. Bashers that relied heavily on "It never got the PlayStation Suite, only has like 50 games and only records at 480p!" are eating a five-course meal of humiliation as we record in HD, bask in our hundreds of (high rating) games, and check in every Tuesday for PlayStation goodies like Sword of Rapier, Alien Breed and Chaos Rings.
To quote a rapper that I actually really hate: "I ain't worried 'bout nothin!"
Who knows though? Maybe ill be wrong, eat my own words and end up toting one. Judging by all the devices like Moga which are struggling to even get 10% of what the Xperia Play has...that's not likely.

I'm not worried either. Android games may be slowly outpacing our phone, but emulators are just getting faster. With ps1, n64, psp, and hopefully nds soon, our library of games is good enough that I could do without the play store.

True, but maby xda devs might change build.prop in most custom roms and stuffs to Xplay and might makes some tool to remap to xPlay Controls... so they might steal our precious games, well this is what im thinking... :/

Hmm i like your argument very much, also i agree with the Marketing as the xPlay had amazing marketing, like tv internet and everything, but like i said to Pizza_User, im sure this device might be bought by devs and im sure they will optimize it for more games via ripping of its identity to the xPlay and then they will remap some controls, so it will kinda be like the play i guess when devs kick in!, but it will never truely be like that,

Yes, The Emulator Library beats em all!,
I actually think this may be good for the Xperia Play - but first, let me explain why I think the Shield is shooting itself on the foot and not a threat whatsoever to the Xplay.
The reason why so many people carry a Xperia Play around is due to the fact that it is a full fledged cellphone - a pretty good looking, non-geektastic one to boot (unlike, say, the old tacophone Ngage that I had - oh how many jokes I had to endure like "why are you talking to your gameboy?").You can make calls, read your e-mails, check facebook, do some emergency browsing (I say emergency because the experience is admitedly subpar due to the screen), see your feeds, read books (with some squinting... but it is possible and I am close to finishing the Horus Heresy series on it alone), take pics and watch/record videos. Not only that, but you can also play games with the attached gamepad - and the choice here is tremendous. Emulation of almost everything up to PSP, not to mention many high profile android games support the Xplay AND run perfectly on it (with some OC in some cases).
The Xperia Play had a very big drawbacks when it was released - the price was prohibitive for what it was. Nowadays, though, you can get one for peanuts, so that isn't a problem anymore. The only real drawback is the dated hardware, but even that is somewhat alleviated by our great devs who keep milking it for the best possible performance. Just look at some PSP games running perfectl on it! I thought this was a pipe dream back when people were saying it would happen one day... It feels great to be wrong!
So why is the Shield a good thing to the Xperia Play? It will prompt more devs to look into adding physical key support to their games - and since they will do it for the Shield, I imagine going the extra mile to make it compatible with other famous gamepads makes sense (like MOGA and Xperia Play support).
So why is the Nvidia Shield doomed to fail? First, it is too expensive. Second, the streaming sounds like Onlive all over again. If you are at home, why would you play squinting at a small screen with downgraded graphics and possibly some input lag when you most likely have access to a beast gaming PC (let's face it - whoever buys this is a hardcore gamer) with a huge, good quality screen and potentially better controls (mouse + kb) within an arms reach? Third, it really doesnt have that many advantages over a phone like the S4 + an attached gamepad (and soon Samsung will release their 360 clone attachment for it) - makes more sense to buy such hardware for your already existing phone that you got for cheap on a contract (instead of paying for a redundant version of something you already have). Lastly, the hardware is stagnant, while phone tech evolves at a staggering pace, driving existing prices lower and promoting sales within a year of release.
I think this is going to be a very niche gadget for those who compulsively collect gaming hardware, and nothing beyond that. Other people will ask themselves "if we have to carry a second device with out phones, why not carry a 3DS, PSP or PSVita instead?" or "if I'm going to play at home, why not go for my consoles or expensive PC instead?".
As Apple and Google build in controller support at the API level on their respective next gen OSes, it will be easier for devs to include gamepad support without having to cater to each controller. Should be huge for portable gaming.
@Fenrir007 i completely agree with that. Alos if you look at the voting on the website it doesnt look to good for nvidia. Also the device looks like a controller and its pretty large and bulky. I would never want to carry something like that around. I think id be embarassed to pull it out. Now the play is more portable, a phone, and looks a lot better. If it had a slim design and nice look they would probably get more sales even if the controller is more comfortable to hold
After reading thru ur post 3 times I have to agree, I never thought of it in the positive way!
Thanx alot man, bumped my day up!

I'm on Sprint so the Xperia Play was always a second device for me to carry around. I bought a Shield and am happy with it. If I was on a carrier and used the Play as a phone I would have stuck with it. I can totally understand why the Shield might fail and I even know that going in. However, I bought it mainly to emulate older games and have them be portable and for that purpose it is a better device for me due to the nice screen, powerful hardware and much more comfortable controls.
