Anyone actually managed to download one yet...
I keep trying with Dungeon hunter it installs then you open it and it tells you to download more and then it just sits for ages doing nothing, sometimes the download bar gets to about 20%, sometimes not at all...
What am I doing wrong
Downloaded Modern Combat last night - told me it was transferring 108mb (wow) over wifi, so understandably it did take a while. Seemed like it had stalled a few times, but just stick with it.
tried it five times since 6am this morning, I know I am an early type...
Now its been sat for an hour doing nothing, is this correct
I played Dungeon Hunter, Modern Combat, Hero of Sparta, Assasins Creed...there are incredibile!!!
It is an amazing 3d experience.
I trully recomend Dungeon Hunter and Assasins Creed
I bought NOVA. Very nice Shooter Game. Great graphics. Has about 75MB when downloading the content. But it´s worth!! And the Best is: i´ve got it from Gameloft only for 3 € instead for 5 €, but it was advertised for 5.
Would be great to see some demos to download, but i think gameloft never made any demo.
Edit: Now i went to Gamelofts site again, and now they really have Demos from the games there. Nice. Will test some others.
glad everyone else can download them...must be my grap galaxy
The games work perfect on my Galaxy S.
thuduk give me Pm with your Yahoo messenger id and i will semd you link to get the games for free
I really don't want to steal there games, all piracy in this situation will do is, make gameloft not develop games for us android users, this I think is why a lot of game developers don't bother with android, if they can't make anything on them, why bother.
Going to soft reset and try again, perhaps with another game.

Stealing is not good, indeed but...
I buy more from Gameloft site and i tell you...the support was awful...i didnt get any refunds for all the games that i bought and didnt work..i dont know why they act like these with their clients.
So...if we can find the gamez free on the web, why bogther paying for a game that doesnt work ?
Cheers.

So you mean if i buy a new car and i hit a wall with it, i can go on the street and look for a similar car and "steal" it? Because if they ar free on the road....
Sorry but you cannot think this way. All the Gameloft games work very well.
The problem is just that it´s difficult to download them. Maybe it´s a problem of the Servers?!
I try to download a demo too right now over W-Lan and it has stopped since 4 Minutes to download. But this is no reason to share there games here. I´ve bought Nova yesterday and i hadn´t any problem to download and install it. Works very nice!
So if theres a problem with the downloading of demos they soon will notice it and i guess they will fix it.
No...u dont need to steal the care because the car is faulty by your mistake.
It is not my fault that i tried 5-6 times to download game and didnt work. How come problems with servers ? How come they not have problems with servers when they take your money ?
Anyway...we have different point of views...i dont like to support pirateria but ...sometimes u have to work with it.
Besides, i didt share anything here
Just this minute managed to download the demo of Dungeon Hunter, taken me all morning.
Assasins creed took only a few minutes, strange, must be server problems...
Testing them now, wow these amazing...love Dungeon Hunter just like Diablo, gosh didn't realise the Galaxy S was this good

I am addicted to the Amazon Appstore due to daily paid apps become free for 24 hours.
Link to Amazon Appstore just in-case I don't update it daily sometimes:
http://www.amazon.com/mobile-apps/b/ref=topnav_storetab_mas?ie=UTF8&node=2350149011

Today November 2, 2011 Free app of the day:
Drift Mania Championship
LINK:http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004VMKFMG?ie=UTF8&ref=mas_faad
If you've ever experienced that moment when your tires lose their grip and you begin to spin out, you know just how terrifying that can be. In Drift Mania Championship, that's actually the object of the game. Your head and your tires will both be spinning when you take on this exciting game for Android.
Drift Away:
The key to Drift Mania Championship is a combination of pushing the limits while maintaining control. Drifting is the act of maneuvering a vehicle around corners at speeds and angles that exceed the vehicle's grip--a kind of controlled slide. But go too fast and your slide becomes Wipeout City.
Stay on Track
Five twisting and turning tracks included
Drive one of seven different stylin' cars and select from five challenging tracks. Start out in Practice mode until you get the hang of it, then switch to Drift mode for the serious action.
Points are awarded based on four main criteria: Line, Angle, Speed, and Impact. Line involves drifting within pre-designated zones. The line is marked by several clipping zones, where the closer you get, the more points you score. With Angle, the goal is to get your car as sideways as possible without crashing.
Of course, you will always have a need for Speed. Try to drift as fast as possible, but be careful--hit a wall or fly off the track and you'll lose your current combo score. If you complete the race within a set amount of time, the game awards extra points. You'll also get bonuses based on your overall Impact: entertaining the crowd and delivering an exciting performance. Make the fans cheer and treat them to the sweet smell of burning rubber.
Race in 3D:
Drift Mania Championship features stunning 3D graphics for a realistic racing experience. The app takes advantage of the multi-touch capabilities of your Android device, which means you'll have to rack up the miles while getting a feel for the controls and interface. You can adjust your steering sensitivity, use three different camera configurations, and even replay your best combos.
Challenge friends to match your performance by submitting your best scores to the global leaderboards for each track. The top 100 positions are displayed on the official Drift Mania website.
Note: This game is not compatible with Samsung devices using Android 2.1. Upgrade to 2.2 or try the Lite version of the app.
I got it today... shows it's $14.99.
Polaris works great too and it comes with the phone.

I know and i figured that was a GREAT grab!!
zzelinka - I tend to forget sometimes too. but this app is useful, and with the memory of the Epic 4G touch, you will barely notice the space it takes up.
Polaris seems really good although I haven't really used it much yet. Is this even worth grabbing?

Kyhassen I would like to thank you for bringing this information to the sg2 forum. I have only used amazon app store to download better keyboard so I never go on it so I wouldn't have seen the free paid apps! I tried out the office app today and am blown away! When I first started using android on my erris I thought it was just a fun toy. Then I got a evo on sprint and found it a usefull daily tool using the calander and note pad ect. But always used my computer alot. Now with this app and and others growing so fast and being so compatible with windows OS my phones become a must in day to day living. I gave up my lap top now because this phone pretty much does it all from a word/power point/spread sheet/music/video edit/calander and much more. I use my $2,000 once in a blue moon. Mainly to incert pics on xda since my phone can't. God Bless Google! Fyi I hit my thanks button on your profile till it ran out just now kyhassen. Mahalo!

You can purchase the apps for free but choose not to install them. You will still have the option of installing them later but will still get them free. There's not much reason to use titanium backup for this purpose, your Amazon account remembers that you own the app(s) and you can install/reinstall them at will.

Pig Blaster somewhat reminds me of Zuma. i wasnt too fond of the game, so im gonna pass on this one.
I got the amazon appstore the day it came out. And have EVERY SINGLE free app of the day, so 150+ apps for free (that are originally paid for). Most apps are alright, but i love it when they have some really good apps for free, those come in handy. I dont like that they have games as app of the day 95% of the time. Overall, its an app to have, i have it on my home screen so i never forget to take 10 seconds and grab the free app of the day. (No, i dont have all the apps of the day installed, as posted above, once you get the app once, u can login to ur amazon account on the appstore FROM ANY PHONE and install w.e. app u like).

Great game, hard to turn as it turns very sharp. havnt play it much but a decent racing drift game.
This is a really amazing game series. If you like playing adventure games like zelda etc. You'll love this game. It has a good story line and it's very addicting, but it takes time to beat them though, which is the fun part. I recommend playing from part one first so u get the whole story.! and yes, i've beaten all of them.
Find it on the market. It's called Zenonia by Gamevil.

I've been playing GBA RPGs for a while on this phone and am looking for some good Android-native RPGs. I was looking at the Final Fantasy ones but I am not paying $7-16 for games I already have on my DS. Any suggestions? Free preferable. I already have Battleheart.

LOL I know! Seems like its everyone deems someone that asks a noob or lazy...
I've been looking for this too! Tried Zenonia, its kool but the 3rd and 4th are pay to play, in game unlockable for cash :/ why is it becoming a tendency?
One thing I've been searching is for a good tactical RPG like Ogre Battle or Final Fantasy Tactics, the closest thing I've found is Spectral Souls and it's $14.99 Reason I haven't bought it yet, thanks to the new 15min limit rebate, I won't know if it's really that good to keep or if I don't run into problems during the download of the extra 1.5GB of data
A good hack/slash RPG is Caligo Chaser, it's $2.99 but worth it. Good controls and decent continuous story line, played it non stop for days.
Another one is Across Age DX, it's a free trial and unlock once you finish the intro phase. The developers compare it to Zelda, but for me it's more like Wild Arms 1 gameplay. They are very similar, tools and co-op with party members. The story seems good so far and the dialog is well put together too. Haven't unlocked it yet, but I will once I clear out some minor debt...
How's Battleheart working for you? Just saw the vid and it seems really good, somewhat a rip off the old FF jobs though :/ Noticed what seemed like Paladin, monk, white mage, dark mage, etc -___-
Edit - I haven't installed any EMUs yet due to onscreen controls being uncomfortable for me, huge hands... I'm considering getting the PS3 control adapter for the phone and use that. forgot what it was and didn't bookmark the site *facepalm*
Kemco makes several that are pretty cheap ($3~4 last I checked). Eve of Genesis and Symphony of Eternity just to name two of them. Gamevil makes one or two. I have Illusia from them. Also downloaded Inotia3 (which is free) a couple of days ago, but I really haven't touched any of them with the exception of Symphony of Eternity.
Like you I've eyed the Final Fantasy games, but I'm not paying that much. Spectral Souls has been on my list too, but again... Not paying $15 for it.
Problem with the free ones is that they're free to play, but to get anything worth getting you have to pay for it... as you know from Zenonia.

The problem with the 15 min is you can't really judge an RPG in 15 min!!! It takes way longer, especially if they have intros/tutorials.
I haven't played Battleheart in a while but I like it......didn't really have a story though. Maybe I did and missed it.
As far as EMUs I haven't been able to gague my phone's battery life at all because I spend almost an hour a day playing Pokemon LeafGreen lmao. My coworkers think I'm nuts now. I paid the $4.99 for VGBA and I have to say it was worth every dime. Especially since I figured out how to transfer my files to the PC and trade with other EMU saves......after I finish up with Pokemon I'm probably going to play Golden Sun which I never got around to but heard is great.

Also, I haven't checked out any of the games suggested but am going to do that this weekend.

I've been considering the DS and flash cart, it's dead cheap. But my better half is most likely going to get the 3DS and it can use the flash card too, but not for 3D games, yet that is.

I'd get the SuperCard DSTWO for the 3DS. It's like $40 depending on where you get it from. There are cheaper ones but from what I know this is the only one that is constantly working as the 3DS firmware upgrades come in.
AND get the PSP lol. The PSP is worth it just for being able to play Final Fantasy 7-9 in my opinion.

Lucky you. I had a PSP a while ago that I had modded but I wound up selling it because I didn't really use it at the time. I wish I had kept it. From looking on EBay/Craigslist I think people are wayyyy overpricing their 3000's.
you don't really need an adapter to use ps3 or wii controllers. They both use Bluetooth and their are neat apps for connecting them, remapping buttons ect....

Tommorow the Nvidia shield is going to be launched... :S, Anyone else in the XPlay community nervous that our play will die soon?

No it not a true console, it just streaming for 5 meters around in our house..

The shield; while interesting, has always looked like an awkward device without enough focus, direction or market manipulation to be truly successful.
This is just screaming "Archos Gamepad-level fail" and sounds like it's support may fall apart just as fast as Tegra Zone did. Xperia Play; on the other hand, flipped the switch on every reviewer that tried to bash it, and STILL has actually had it's rate of game development grow. Bashers that relied heavily on "It never got the PlayStation Suite, only has like 50 games and only records at 480p!" are eating a five-course meal of humiliation as we record in HD, bask in our hundreds of (high rating) games, and check in every Tuesday for PlayStation goodies like Sword of Rapier, Alien Breed and Chaos Rings.
To quote a rapper that I actually really hate: "I ain't worried 'bout nothin!"
Who knows though? Maybe ill be wrong, eat my own words and end up toting one. Judging by all the devices like Moga which are struggling to even get 10% of what the Xperia Play has...that's not likely.

I'm not worried either. Android games may be slowly outpacing our phone, but emulators are just getting faster. With ps1, n64, psp, and hopefully nds soon, our library of games is good enough that I could do without the play store.

True, but maby xda devs might change build.prop in most custom roms and stuffs to Xplay and might makes some tool to remap to xPlay Controls... so they might steal our precious games, well this is what im thinking... :/

Hmm i like your argument very much, also i agree with the Marketing as the xPlay had amazing marketing, like tv internet and everything, but like i said to Pizza_User, im sure this device might be bought by devs and im sure they will optimize it for more games via ripping of its identity to the xPlay and then they will remap some controls, so it will kinda be like the play i guess when devs kick in!, but it will never truely be like that,

Yes, The Emulator Library beats em all!,
I actually think this may be good for the Xperia Play - but first, let me explain why I think the Shield is shooting itself on the foot and not a threat whatsoever to the Xplay.
The reason why so many people carry a Xperia Play around is due to the fact that it is a full fledged cellphone - a pretty good looking, non-geektastic one to boot (unlike, say, the old tacophone Ngage that I had - oh how many jokes I had to endure like "why are you talking to your gameboy?").You can make calls, read your e-mails, check facebook, do some emergency browsing (I say emergency because the experience is admitedly subpar due to the screen), see your feeds, read books (with some squinting... but it is possible and I am close to finishing the Horus Heresy series on it alone), take pics and watch/record videos. Not only that, but you can also play games with the attached gamepad - and the choice here is tremendous. Emulation of almost everything up to PSP, not to mention many high profile android games support the Xplay AND run perfectly on it (with some OC in some cases).
The Xperia Play had a very big drawbacks when it was released - the price was prohibitive for what it was. Nowadays, though, you can get one for peanuts, so that isn't a problem anymore. The only real drawback is the dated hardware, but even that is somewhat alleviated by our great devs who keep milking it for the best possible performance. Just look at some PSP games running perfectl on it! I thought this was a pipe dream back when people were saying it would happen one day... It feels great to be wrong!
So why is the Shield a good thing to the Xperia Play? It will prompt more devs to look into adding physical key support to their games - and since they will do it for the Shield, I imagine going the extra mile to make it compatible with other famous gamepads makes sense (like MOGA and Xperia Play support).
So why is the Nvidia Shield doomed to fail? First, it is too expensive. Second, the streaming sounds like Onlive all over again. If you are at home, why would you play squinting at a small screen with downgraded graphics and possibly some input lag when you most likely have access to a beast gaming PC (let's face it - whoever buys this is a hardcore gamer) with a huge, good quality screen and potentially better controls (mouse + kb) within an arms reach? Third, it really doesnt have that many advantages over a phone like the S4 + an attached gamepad (and soon Samsung will release their 360 clone attachment for it) - makes more sense to buy such hardware for your already existing phone that you got for cheap on a contract (instead of paying for a redundant version of something you already have). Lastly, the hardware is stagnant, while phone tech evolves at a staggering pace, driving existing prices lower and promoting sales within a year of release.
I think this is going to be a very niche gadget for those who compulsively collect gaming hardware, and nothing beyond that. Other people will ask themselves "if we have to carry a second device with out phones, why not carry a 3DS, PSP or PSVita instead?" or "if I'm going to play at home, why not go for my consoles or expensive PC instead?".
As Apple and Google build in controller support at the API level on their respective next gen OSes, it will be easier for devs to include gamepad support without having to cater to each controller. Should be huge for portable gaming.
@Fenrir007 i completely agree with that. Alos if you look at the voting on the website it doesnt look to good for nvidia. Also the device looks like a controller and its pretty large and bulky. I would never want to carry something like that around. I think id be embarassed to pull it out. Now the play is more portable, a phone, and looks a lot better. If it had a slim design and nice look they would probably get more sales even if the controller is more comfortable to hold
After reading thru ur post 3 times I have to agree, I never thought of it in the positive way!
Thanx alot man, bumped my day up!

Yes that's why I got an overvolted battery within stock sizes so my play isn't an embarrassment!

Thats a retarded device, seriously? That looks like a stupid XBox 360 Controller with a screen. F*** Microsoft and their Xbox, and also Nvidia. WTF, that won't make even get better than a Play, because its super bulky, and way to huge, compared to our Play, that may be bulky but can go from slim to bulky, that piece of c*** is nothing but a badly designed Moga Controller with a phone.

Also, this is good because if that launches then Sony might start a competition and hopefully get the out the XPlay 2.

"Xperia PLAY. Laugh all you want but its still my daily driver and I love playing Modern Combat 4 online on it. Plays buttery smooth. Also I don't have to carry a moga or other adapter whereas the PLAYs built in game controls/triggers and touchpads make playing over 500 xperia play optimized games a blast. I'm on Sprint so the Xperia Play was always a second device for me to carry around. I bought a Shield and am happy with it. If I was on a carrier and used the Play as a phone I would have stuck with it. I can totally understand why the Shield might fail and I even know that going in. However, I bought it mainly to emulate older games and have them be portable and for that purpose it is a better device for me due to the nice screen, powerful hardware and much more comfortable controls.
Your opinion is valid,
