Nokia Lumia Live - Watch it here - Windows Phone 7 General

Definitely not good enough for me to buy but you have to give it to Nokia: They're advertising the hell out of it. This was in London last night.

That yellow thing creeps me out.
Looks more like a rave video.

A couple of mates headed down to this last night. Said it was great.
Shame the live feed had issues. Will re-watch when i'm home. Gotta love a bit of deadmau5

pretty bad a$$

looks like everyone is using whatever that badass projector is to launch a phone. figured they'd show off the OS instead of a giant rave, but whatever.
the mouse mixer was purdy good- what's his name/handle so i can pirate some of his stuff ?

One of the most amazing things ive seen

This is awesome!
Nightmare on Elm Street is my absolute favorite movie series!
Up until now, I've only had girly themes on my G1, but when this is finished, this will definitely be on my switch-around list!
yeah i liked it too, scared the **** out of me when i was younger, lol....had to make it.....it will be update in a few days...
haha this sounds pretty awsome. my mom was cruel to me as a child and would creep me out talking about freddy. lol

HA! Sounds like my mother. Those movies would scare the crap out of me at night if I watched them. Around Halloween they used to play them on TV a lot, so if she was watching one, I could hear it through my bedroom door and she would not turn it off!
I still get scared watching it at night...lol
God this brings back memories. I was so desensitized as a kid, as I grew up watching the Freddy movies. To this day I haven't found a move that'll make me jump. On the flip side of that, I can usually call out most of the movie before it happens, because I've seen so many. . . Don't watch too much TV, but watch a helluva lotta movies. . . and retain most of 'em. lol
Instead of square try a different shape for the icons also you could bevel them to make them look more 3D. Great idea a horror theme or horror legends theme would be bad a$$ like freddy, jason, myers and chainsaw or even SAW. Good job
yeah i am working on the icons, but u read my mind, i was going to do a horror villians theme with all of them, and i am actually working on a saw theme as we speak

Anyone see the Epic Citadel tech demo for iOS4?

Pretty impressive.
That is amazing, the quality of games/apps on the iPhone is still way ahead of android.
It looks as smooth as an xbox 360.
I know no one as said this now, but it pisses me off so much when people say if I want to play a game, I will use my Playstation, BS the iPhone games are kick ass.
Looks like a sweet game.

I'd be willing to bet that the Hummingbird proc has this beat. It just doesn't have a fancy tech demo yet.

I'll take turn by turn navigation over turning my phone into a toy any day of the week.
Its lovely but the reality distortion field of Apple is in full effect.
"Intel Sucks" until we need to use Intel.
"Its not the quantity of apps, its the quantity" until the iPhone has the most
"Apple makes machines for creating, not for playing games" until they want to compete with Nintendo and Sony
"Nobody reads books anymore"
"Nobody wants to use a device that can't fit in the pocket"
I believe this year we also heard "Nobody wants to use a phone with a giant 4.3" screen"
Drink the drink...
will this run on the Ipad? couse if it does the its a WIN
wifi-ipad + EVO = WIN
Meh, just get one of the new ipod touches and play the damn game on that.

I came from an iPhone 3GS, not much of a mobile gamer though, but your statement is very true - iPhone games are far more advanced than Android, but also different strokes for different folks. iPhone also head a head start.

I hope so. I really do...I don't want to be a fanboy to either side, but I really do hope Android overtakes Apple and iOS. I hate Job's snooty and controlling attitude/business' practices.

True or an iPad (personally don't need two pocket mobile devices), and with free tethering using the Evo, could be win/win.
gotta admit the graphics are pretty impressive, you can tell they are keeping the framerate low though. The blur effect helps mask it some but there was once or twice where I could see it stutter.
I give it until the end of the year before the roles reverse and apple is playing catch up with android, it's only a matter of time
one of the reasons iphone games have suddenly jumped in quality is the fact that they pushed an update not too long ago that fully supports opengl 2.0 and if im not mistaken android also supports opengl 2.0 the second reason is that apple controls both the software developed by them and the hardware requirements are developed by them but manufactured by hardware parters its only one product gradually and carefully upgraded, its a very strict system that allows them to produce higher quality faster then android, developers have to write code that can be scaled and refined to support many handsets..it just means that for the time being android will be behind...its one of the reasons the new windows phone os are more strict on their new hardware guidelines...soon android will mature to the point that it will be easy for developers to write an app for many different hardware sets...its just going to take time
I've played the demo. It is very impressive. Why do people need to hate on it just because it isn't available on their device yet?

Everyone on Smallville seems to love WP7...

Just watching some Smallville... seen an LG Quantum, Samsung Focus, and a Samsung Omnia all on one episode... If I wasn't already hooked on WP7 then this episode would've made me fall in love with the UI.
I didn't realize that show was still around...
Still on season 9 myself. Good to,see ms do some, product placement though. Never saw that on winmo.

The WP7 Kimmunicator
I also saw some overly cheesy promotional use of WP7 in an episode of Hawaii Five 0 last night.
Somehow, Bing managed to autosuggest an obscure modern artist after only three letters were entered.
Shame really as they could construct better scenarios to show how useful the phone OS could be.
I've also seen them on Bones and Castle. Castle was rather fun as he's always used an iPhone before (and I believe after) this.

WP Titan Rocks!!!

Went to the ATT store to pick up a Titan or a Focus. Had to hold in my hand the diff in size to make sure I was okay with the Titan size vs amole display.
Liked them both, but wanted to sleep on it.
Went back the next day with my mind made up....Titan.
The guy that helped me the first night was busy, so picked the next available att rep. The windows phones were next to the appless display. I asked if they had another titan left. He asked if I wanted 32 gb or something model. I was like huh? I said I didn't know there was a 32 or 64 gb version of the titan. He was like oh, you want a windows phone. Yaa, duh!
Anyway, the guy that helped me the first night said that him and only one other att person had a windows phone vs the 10 or so other reps I saw in the store both nights. I don't want to say someone is cool or not cool, but the windows att guy I talked to was pretty friggin cool and knowledgeable. I overheard him talking to a customer about the chaos that is the android market and he also knew the exact dilemma I was facing...amole vs titan screen size (he owned a focus s).
After I purchased my Titan I went over and interrupted his conversation with another customer to say thanks, and let him know I went with the big screen. As I left and got in my car I saw him and the rep that rang me up in a good natured but possibly competitive conversation and realized that maybe att stores work on commission??
Anyway, I feel bad if that is true, but hopefully the appless guy defers to the guy that helped me choose my windows phone!!
With regards to my Titan purchase.... friggin AWESOME phone!!!
I made mobile phone calls thru a 2m repeater in the 80's as a ham, did IT tech support through one of those ancient Motorola flip phone in the 90's (DPC550?), and windows mobile x.x until now.
While I have thoroughly enjoyed the endless rooting and the various branches I have explored of windows mobile through XDA, I have to admit I was starting to get a little jealous of the apps available to my non technical friends through their iphones.
I finally threw down for an ipod once it could hold my massive GB collection of music but it never set the hook for me...minus my collection of music. I needed something more...
I won't tell anyone they have to get a windows phone, but seriously, the Titan friggin rocks!!!!! I was worried about the size but honestly it feels less in my front pocket than my old tilt2 (boat anchor). The large screen is simply enjoyable for anyone with a history of using smartphones. Apps? The good ones are ported. Games? The bigger the screen size the better, all things considered. Native apps...WOW!
I was worried the titan would be too big...its not, it might be the perfect size. Sign me me up as a converted windows phone fanboy. I really feel (based on tried and true experience) that android = windows mobile! Yeah, there are some cool things you can do...but I want a phone, not a linux box. ah, sorry!!!
Feel free to flame! But I am really psyched on this phone!
I always liked windows phone but idk, I just couldn't use it as an everyday thing. Its very simplistic and I like that. But to many features left out(at least when I had a focus). Well maybe I'll see about getting one again. The titan did seem nice. I also checked it out at the store. I love the screen on it. HUGE!
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Anyone who can't even refer to the competition by their correct name, and needs to resort to childish things like "appless" isn't even worth flaming. Enjoy your new phone. WP7 is a good OS, and has the potential to eventually be great, but so are iOS and Android. People who can't see that are only trying to rationalize their own choice, and they make intelligent discussion impossible.

I feel the same about the Titan, it's an excellent phone. When I went to the local AT&T store with my brother about 2 weeks ago, I got to play with a Titan and was amazed how well made it was and how sweet the style was. If I would have been eligible for an upgrade, I would have walked out of the store with a Titan.
Oh Dad!
I mean RoboDad! I'm sorry, you are totally correct calling my post out!
I thought a good natured jibbing in the 'Windows Phone' forum would be okay and got a little too excited with what I thought was an original jab - 'Appless'?
I guess maybe not.
Sorry to offend you!
There is a great Mobile OS race going on, I see WP is a big underdog. All I was trying to say was that I was blown away by WP on the Titan. The handicaps of each platform are well documented, if not well marketed.
My opinion=only mine.
You shouldn't have to apologize OP, I have an Android and WP7... I don't go into the Android section talking about WP7, I don't know why someone would be offended in this section...but rock on with the Titan!

Ewww...that's one thing I hate about my Focus, the power button on the side. I'm always pressing it when I apply a force to the opposite side...like volume controls. And I always press it when removing it from a case or picking it up. Whats really bad is when I press it while playing a game. The hand naturally grabs the sides to secure the object. Having a power button at the top eliminates this unwanted power button pressing.

Nicki Minaj. Not really into her, but thats a great snag for this event.
Is there any other live streams, more official ones?

well.. everyone is leaving.. no free phones for watching ?
For a launch party, it was a great start... but 15 minute show is not enough to wow the crowd. First crack at it I guess. Should have been more wiz-bang and more performers.

London got the best show IMO.
Wow I wonder how much this event cost.
created a nice buzz...lots of tweets, instagram photos (ironic I know), facebook uploads and its on MTV news and other sites.
This is the kind of thing that gets mindshare started. I liked it. A little short, but maybe better than too long.
i dislike nickis music but a lot of people like her, so i see this good on both parts seeing that she has a album coming out. Nicki just needs a 900 in her hand the whole time shes performing. lol. maybe the phone as her mic.
