[Q] Videos filmed in portrait mode plays back in landscape? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have I missunderstood someting? A video recorded in portrait will play back in landscape i.e. turned 90 degrees?
/voz

Could anybody check if it's the same on their device?
Thanks Voz!

Videos are always recorded landscape. No orientation information is recorded. It only works for photos.

Stop searching.
Gnex doesn't support that.
As you can see on youtube everybody is filming their devices with a camera.

Video playback via DLNA to WiFi TV issue

I hooked my Panasonic UT 50 Smart TV to our home network, which my S3 is also connected.
When I go to my gallery, I can open a photo and share that photo to the TV and it will show up on the screen and the TV will automatically switch inputs to DLNA. BUT when I try to do the same with videos it looks like it will work, but the video will never plays on my phone or TV.
Any advice?

Mine does the same thing with my Panasonic tv, mine will sometimes play a video recorded in 720, but i think 1080 is much for it
