[Q] Where can I get Galaxy Nexus in Singapore - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I'm from Myanmar.
My friend's there in Singapore.
I'm so keen to have Galaxy Nexus now... though I know it's not officially available in Singapore now.
Would you pls tell me where can I get one in Singapore...?
Please...

I'm from Thailand.
You cannot get the phone anywhere in Southeast Asia yet. Gotta order one from Europe.

closest I can imagine is in Hong Kong grey market. otherwise have to order it online. I would try expansys USA. Best deal so far, and cheap fedex fees. Not sure about the tax you would have to pay though.

If I'm not mistaken, they will sell it in Singapore in January 2012.

You can always order it online form the UK. 2 site below deliver and the rates are very reasonable.

Hi, what about warranty? It won't be international right? Only warranty from place of purchase?

South Korea released the galaxy nexus about a week ago. The SIM is indeed unlocked and works in Singapore with Singtel (haven't tried M1 or Starhub). Be warned though the baseband is not the XXXK1 but a custom M420S...something. Only way to change it is through rooting, means unlocking the bootloader and thus voiding warranty.

[Q]Buying Galaxy Nexus in Hong Kong

Hi,
Does anyone know if Hong Kong has launched the Galaxy Nexus? I am going to Hong Kong next Friday, where can I buy the Galaxy Nexus and accessories or the Korean version of Galaxy Nexus In Hong Kong?
Thank you in advance
Yes it has launched in hong Kong! My nexus was imported from there
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
Which website did you order it from? Do you know where in Hong Kong I can get my hands on it hehe
I actually got it from a reseller here in the states that got it from hong Kong. I'm not sure which specific place you can buy it but I'm sure you can find s store if you look online. Might have to sift through some Chinese websites

I'd imagine all the usual suspects will have them:
Wilson and Citylink specialize in mobile devices.
Fortress, Broadway and Suning sell all sorts of electronics
All phones in Hong Kong are required by law to be unlocked unless you are on contract. Of course, The GN is factory unlocked...
All that i named are chain stores - so you can feel safe buying from them. Price will vary though due to the nature of buying things in HK
It has been available since 15 Dec
Go to get it from some chain store would be better than those small shops, especially tourist area. They usually charge way higher than the suggested price.
The chain store would be selling at suggested price - hkd 5398 if my memory is good.
Screen protector is usually given as a free gift, and the staffs should help you applying it.
All GN selling in HK should yakjuzs-build.

I bought my Galaxy Nexus in HK a week ago
The price is 5398 HKD in Broadway and Fortress
But you can find it cheaper in Mongkok Computer center or Golden Arcade (around 4800-4900 HKD); just keep in mind that they prefer cash there; credit card transactions are usually 3%+ to the price
btw, buying in Broadway gets you some freebies - I got screen protector and extra battery with a charger
What Skeve said
I got my GNexus for $4900 HKD
Does the version of nexus galaxy purchased from hong kong work with US tmobile 3G and 4G Network? Does all gsm version has 1700 MHz?
Thanks
I'm heading to Bangkok with a short layover in Seoul in a couple weeks. I've done research about maybe getting the Korean version.....but it looks like they're contract only. I wanted the extra larger battery.
I'll probably end up buying it in Thailand. I think I can get it for about $590 US (19,900 baht less 7% VAT). No contract, unlocked.

Yes sir, using it on mobilicity right now, which has the same band as tmo.
I recommend getting it from wai shen (衛訊), broadway or fortress.

isn't there a chinese language/system language by default in settings?
I don't think you can flash to a different ROM without rooting as if I remember; cooked ROM's are pre-rooted
but you should be able to change firmwares through fastboot flashing; thought I'm unsure about that
bumpin' this up for an expert to step in

[Q] buying GN online

hello,
i'm about to buy a gsm GN online, and i was wondering having different build (Yakju or something like that) affect anything at all?
cuz as far as i know, expansys usa is one of few web that sells the yakju build from uk.
is this better? or it doesn't matter ?
what's the difference?
simply put, UK import=better?
doesnt matter. you can take any GSM phone and flash it to yakju
Anywhere it comes from it doesn't matter. You can flash it to "yakju" in 10 minutes anyways. Just shoot for the best price and/or reputable importer.
Also take into account warranty (some sellers offer 'less' warranty and other might not have ANY reputable warranty or overseas warranty).

Warranty will be covered by the local Samsung repairer if shipped overseas. I know because I had this issue before.
Oh that's great then since I bought a grey import.

Evil Samsung Hong Kong, all Galaxy Nexus sold out, and stop restock (yakjuzs)

sorry for all first as my english is not good
Hong Kong have a very unfair galaxy nexus sales
(Hong Kong version is yakjuzs with chinese keyboard + Hong Kong warranty, not talking about import goods)
So i try to report the problem
Is it have anyway to contact google or this case have no chance to solve
one month ago, galaxy nexus sales at HKD 3698 about US476.47
it is quite cheap on one month ago
So many customers buy the phone and all nexus sold out very quick
NOW all main electronic store e.g. fortress, broadway, citicall(Suning) in HONG KONG
all of them said they will not restock, and some salesmen said galaxy nexus already stop production, WTF
I am not believe that , a phone just release in the world three or four month ago, stop production so quick?!
I try to contact Samsung Hong Kong though email and leave msg in Samsung Mobile Hong Kong 's facebook
but Samsung Hong Kong just ignore and never reply me
They don't respect customer and is samsung hk make a space for promote and sale GS3 in HONG KONG
don't lead the Nexus affect the sales of GS3????? i don't know
Hong Kong have a high smartphone user rate, if you go to MTR station,
most of people using their smartphone, apple iphone, android HTC, S2
Many people want to buy a Nexus, but it is out of stock now,
people in Hong Kong's fourm ask where can buy it everyday, but everyone don't which store have stock
Is there have anyway to contact google and help HONG KONG people buy Galaxy Nexus?
may be just sales the Nexus at play store like US
i don't know how to find google to report the problem in Hong Kong
Do anyone have idea, please help , hope Hong Kong have the stock again
or the sales are basic on Samsung Hong Kong
and this problem will never solve

Lol, I actually enjoyed the story. But, seriously. Can you not buy one direct from Google or from outside of Hong Kong? Is HK not GSM?
I mean I can see why its frustrating, but you can't be mad if they stop stocking a poor selling phone for a guaranteed higher selling phone. It's been out for 6 months, not 3 or 4. It's "old news" to some retailers (as if it was news in the first place).
There are plenty of importers that would be happy to send you one. And the prices are down now that the Galaxy Nexus is for sale in the Play Store for $399.
I'm in HK and I have a brand new GNexus for sale. Contact me if you're interested.
I was just there earlier this week and I saw GNex on every cellphone shop that I visited??

How do you not understand that? Serious reading comprehension fail. Read the first sentence, then the second sentence. It makes sense.
Prices are down because the Play Store has lowered the general price of the phone (pretty much flooding the market + increasing supply). Go look at importers websites. They've all slashed their prices down to the $400-$450 range.

oh sorry i have not mention
I am talk talking about official HONK KONG galaxy nexus which is yakjuzs (not yakju) with a stock chinese keyboard
Hong Kong people usually prefer buy a phone with warranty
import goods always can restock as they just ship to hong kong from the rest of the world
people buy import goods if they want to get a cheaper price (mostly import goods store do not provide warrantly, unless you pay all the repair charge)
MongKok is one of main place sell import goods e.g. "Sin Tat Plaza"
if you go to main electronic store e.g. fortess, broadway, citicall(Suning) in monkok (they don't sell import goods), you cannot find a hong kong galaxy nexus
if you talk about import goods
the import galaxy nexus is about HKD3000-3200(i9250/SC-04D japan version) in hong kong
about US386-US412
Import goods warranty are not like USA, store are not guarantee that unless you pay all charges and may wait a long time
hong kong warranty may get it back within one days (unless the parts is out of stock)

Best place to buy galaxy note 2 in Australia?

Hi all,
I am planning to buy either a 4G or 3G version of the Galaxy note 2.
I live on brisbane, QLD, Australia.
I have heard some bad story's about mobicity and there warranty service.
I am also moving back to England some time in the next 6 months or so, so i need a warranty service which would still cover me in England (or one where I can just post the phone back to Australia and get it repaired by the warranty).
Can anyone recommend where is the best place to purchase this phone here?.
I don't want to pay more then about $680 for it.
If the Australian release date of the last note is anything to go by, it doesn't seem Samsung will release it anytime soon here.
Thanks
Cheers
Corey

Hey mate,
I'm from the coast and bought my 3g version from Kogan.com.au
I paid $660 including shipping and comes with one year warranty plus option to buy extended warranty.
comes with registered shipping and took a week to get to me.
otherwise expansys has it as well.
but I can't fault Kogan at all

Hi mate
I bought my gn2 from kogan recently. Arrived in a week's time. N they are the cheapest I think. $600 n they're having a free shipping offer for this weekend as well. Kogan also sell in UK so they might be able to honour the warranty there as well or you can always send it back to Australia for the same.
My gn2 is made for France according to the box. So if you also get something similar ie made for Europe - you might also be able to get warranty from Samsung if you are in Europe
Let me know if you have any questions.
Oh n by the way it's an excellent phone. I'm loving it.

Since you're from Australia, I would suggest that you keep an eye out on the whirlpool thread "Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - Where to buy".
You'll be able to see other people's experiences with certain sites, and be updated on the best price available.
It's launching in Oz carriers today, isn't it? Or at least the launch event. One or the two.

Where to Buy? Canada, Hong Kong or Taiwan?

I will be in Hong Kong from September 10 to 24 with a 3 night layover in Taiwan. I have been looking for the price of the device in Taiwan but I have not been able to find it. I called a shop in Hong Kong who told me their version is Snapdragon not Exynos.
Question:
The CDN version has the $200 off trade in phone promo. Obviously in Asia there is no promo for that, however there is really no tax in Asia.
Anyone know the price of the device in Taiwan? Is it worth paying a premium ($200 ish more) for an Exynos model? Anyone know where I can buy it when I'm in Taiwan; I can't find web stores from Taiwan providing information re: this.
If I buy in Asia, can I get warranty servicing from Samsung in Canada?
Thanks!

Definately worth the extra cash for a bootloader unlocked exynos device.
I dont think sammy Canada will warranty service a non Canadian device though or even if they can as the hardware is slightly different.

If you've got something in writing from Samsung (which this website certainly is) that will trump whatever any sales rep says.

The international warranty is only mentioned in the South Korea website. The Canadian website has no mention of it.
I guess make sure to check what kind of warranty is offered in the country of purchase because there may be differences.

I just realized that the link I provided says "Samsung Mobile Computer" not mobile phone. I think we should check the fine print before purchasing abroad, if that's important. If I call Samsung Canada's warranty servicing and get an answer I will post it.
Here is my conversation with SS online:
C: Hypothetically, if I purchased a Samsung phone abroad, and there is a problem with it, can I submit the repair to Samsung Canada?
SS: Thank you for waiting. I'll be with you in just a moment.
SS: No, if you have purchased the phone abroad and would like to get it repaired in different country, you need to contact local service technicians. Samsung will not repair the phones purchased that are purchased in different countries.
