This rom is miui with re worked android 4.0 framework
Stable vs beta?
Stable builds are builds that include Miui Galnet's full array of changes in, including their own unique framework. Because it takes time to properly develop it, the release rate of the stable build is much less frequent to the beta builds. The beta builds on the other hand, are released weekly. They are essentially the Stock MIUI ROM with some of Galnet's fixes included in order to ensure the stability of the ROM.

Note: I will be making a modified version shortly which I use daily, and would like to share with the rest of my fellow xda members
Hit thanks, I would really appreciate it
For people with bootloops when flashing, this is a common problem with galnet miui ROM's. Please follow the following steps for a successful flashing experience
> Full wipe then flash an older/weekly galnet build (not the ics build).
> Let phone boot up and load, then reboot into recovery.
> Without a wipe, flash the ics build on top.
According to Galnet there's an EGL_BAD_DISPLAY error with just the ICS stable.
Checking the md5sum is important before flashing as well to prevent bootloops.
Cheers and enjoy

Woah, well this is new. 4.0?
Good looks on the release, will try now. Thanks !
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
this has 4.0 framework intergrated.. it is not a full 4.0 base.
enjoy
Please leave feedback, as well as what you would like added to the rom as I will be modifying this base to create my own. thanks
Sorry if this is some noob like question but does this mean the UI is hardware accelerated?

Not a noob question at all. Yes there is hw acceleration, as stated in OP.
well, as stated the link is not working. Waiting for a working mirror or the link.

I am deeply sorry for this, I am attempting to get mirrors up but my computer is playing up.. what a terrible time for this to happen. If anyone could post some mirrors in the meantime until i can sort this out, very sorry.

If the galnet servers are not up by tomorrow (my time) I will have mirrors up and ready. My net has gone haywire and I am not sure what is going on, so I am afraid we must wait. So sorry.
Hey, I really think there may be something wrong with the stable build. There is definitely no hw acceleration at all. And this is other than the bootloops. I had installed the weekly and then booted that and installed the latest ICS stable over it.
My only gripe is the lack of hw accel ( which I really wanted, without the sense bloat ), and I didn't see that at all. Anyway, I thought the hw accel was for the i9000 builds.
Also, I accidentally deleted my forum activation email on the galnet forums, and galnet didn't show up on IRC yesterday at all . So I switched back to CM7, where the browser is smoother.
However, can you look into this please? Specifically, there's major choppiness in the settings menu, and messaging app ( well, I have over 4000 messages, but it's smooth in the cm7 stock app, and laggy in GoSMS so something's wrong for sure )
Also, I only have a class 4 8GB card, so I want to know if MIUI is caching anything on there that could be messing up my experience.

Oh also, the camera is absolutely brilliant. I didn't know my G2 could take pictures that fast!

Thanks for the feedback. For bug reports please do not post here, until I have released my custom rom. I will be releasing a modified version in the near future once I sort out some things, then you may flood me with bugs reports
Haha sorry. I didn't mean for it to be a bug report. I just wanted it to be information. I really don't want to create another forum account on the galnet forums so I can flood them .

That is fine my friend, all feedback and information is welcome
If anyone has ideas of what they would like to see in my upcoming rom please pm me with ideas or post. All ideas are welcome, and using the plain base of galnet will be good because it will give you guys an idea of what's missing and what can be improved, which is what I aim to bring to the community. thanks
Could you include the ICS gmail app into your version?

So uhm are there any real differences? Or am I just plain stupid and miss them. 5.2 is good enough for everyday use as well....
Note: this is not meant to be rude or anything. It's allways good to see more devs
Man, it's nice to see new faces, but you're not bringing anything new to the table, just a "rehash" of someone's ROM.
Like someone once wrote, proficiency with winzip doesn't make you a dev, and it's sad to see ppl just playing around with winzip, adding a few apks, changing a few lines and posting "new stuff".
I wanted to look the other way, just like I did with the other new "chefs", but hey, guy, you even had the very good idea to add a donate link to your sig., not even reaching 10 posts!
Unless you bring something new, I don't think it's a good idea to post, since it's just spam.
That might come in handy for you: "innovation, not imitation"
I didn't say it is brand new stuff. As I mentioned in the first post, it's based on Vanillain ROM. If you try my version and the original version you'll definately see a difference in both speed and stability.
Really, I don't think this is as useless as you might consider it. Maybe I'm not the only 'vanilla android' fan around here looking for a stable release.
What's with the attitude people... He posted a ROM he thinks is good and he wants to share his work, even if it's not *NEW*...
Download or don't download but give him a break... let people try and feedback, maybe you'll find he didn't just "zip" the ROM...
RaduG thanks for your work and share. I'm into Sense UI so I won't be trying this but again, thanks for sharing!
Ok so here it goes.
Just did a restart after setup and it is fast but switching between screens i a bit slow (will give it some more time). The launcher has only 3 screens "helix" I think you could use a different one.
Oh and the 3G watchdog could be an option. It is useful but i bet not all people would like it.
At the and of the day i think this is a great ROM. Stable and ready to be used as an everyday ROM
Thanks for your feedback.
I've tested different launchers available and the HelixLauncher included in this ROM is the most stable in my oppinion. I will wait for more feedback and if you users like it I will take the apps you don't like out.

It's not a matter of software being new, but seriously, just how many rehashes of base roms shared by other devs were posted?
How many "chefs" DID compile their own custom overlay of aosp?
In fact, nprussel was using mine for quite some time, but didn't react since he really has contributed a lot in these forums; in fact, I'd congratulate him.
Apart from some additional apks, I don't see anything new in here (same old bugs, "features" of other roms based on the leaks)
The one thing that really ticked me off, is the "audacious" donate link for what is, let's face it, a rip atm.
I've taken it off since you first posted. You're somehow right, but i really don't think this is useless. I'm 100% sure this is the most stable Android 2.1 you can download on the forum ATM. Since it is an improvement and i've given credits to the source, i don't think there is a real issue.
Still waiting for feedback.
Could not get it to work, did a full wipe, then flashed.
Then it boots and every single thing that starts crashes: 'sorry ... setup stopped unexpectedly'
I have the latest radio.
Managed to mount my sdcard between all the error screens luckily, so I'll put another ROM onto my phone in 5 minutes.
Strange, a few users tested and everything worked perfect. Please try a full wipe after install and post results. Thanks.
Going to check it.
This is my third rom, so I should now more or less how to install it, but what do you mean with wipe after install? My actions, in order:
put zip on sd card
boot in recovery
wipe whatever I can wipe (system and cache, I do not have an ext partition so no point wiping that)
flash
boot
so which step then?

Yep, i've ran aHero, great build too! But this is more stable and works better with Live Wallpapers.

WIPE DATA IF COMING FROM OS < 4.2.1!
Information
Versioning:
Two versions are distributed, the 'CAF' version and the 'Makoi' version.
CAF (Code Aurora Forum):
This version uses the CAF display driver, which in general has more fixes and the newest qcom stuff over the AOSP one.
+ MPD composition and overlay drawing should be improved using this display driver
+ Code widely used on non-nexus devices
- HDMI is broken
Mako:
This version uses the AOSP (Mako/Nexus4) display driver, which in general is not up-to-date with the newest qcom code, but proven to be stable over time.
+ HDMI works flawlessly
+ Pure Mako/Nexus4 drivers
- MDP composition and overall drawing performance could be a tad worse compared to CAF
The choice is yours.
If you rely on HDMI, Mako will serve you well.
Thanks raymanfx for supporting the acro s we all appreciate it very much.

Apart from that, I am providing builds with a 3.4 kernel, while he is still stuck on the 3.0 one from my GitHub.

I prefer is still stuck on the 3.0, WHERE ALL WORKING.....that upload 3.4 where dont working this
*FM Radio
*Volume - UP bug like in stock JB
*Rotation takes longer than it should
*Camera preview freezes after taking a picture
*Weird fragmentation when rotating while playing a video
*EGL is picky - certain apps might crash - graphics/interface might be buggy
I think if you want create a ROM or KERNEL or ANYTHING, you only upload when it to have the minimun errors, is unacceptable upload a kernel or rom knowing that the camera freezes when taking a photo OR Rotation Takes longer than it Should When rotating OR Weird fragmentation while playing a video or etc etc
For example: Deedwar create rom with minimun erros or nothing, TrinityHaxxorX create rom with minimun erros or nothing
If you want to create Kernel or Rom Please test first, or ask tester for test, before upload

As someone that has a few different ROMs on here that i have had to build from source i like the ability to be able to test a new kernel. Now you know that any 3.4 kernel released is buggy so you have the option to ignore the ROM. By releasing it early it allows other people to help solve the problems rather then having to try and figure it all out by himself.
I understand deedwar so put this "only a test" and ask help to other people, in this way is must easy will create a Good Rom
If answer me "Why don't you read?", yes I read but understand that before upload or test or ask help to other people
That's very nice. I'd like to test this ROM.

well said deedwar.....
and juanenbas u dont hav to be harsh about it ...... its not like he said everything is working and u still got those error and al....... devs do their best to fix the errors of roms and they do it for free...... if you hav a problem with the rom just ignore the rom..... jus cool off...:good:
Acro S users will appreciate it!
I highly appreciate as well. Thanks for providing an additional rom in this relatively quite Acro S thread.
Thanks

obviously you are not a developer n'or familiar with the matter linux, else you wouldn't talk like that. the linux kernel is in heavy developement, and so is android. one day android won't be able to run on 3.0 kernel anymore, and people like you would be the first the bother developers with ETAs on a new kernel for the new and shiny android, if people like rayman wouldn't already be working on getting the recent kernel's on your loved device!
the thread title clearly tells you WiP and the known problems are listed, and it is your own decision to use it or not. but instead of just watching it and wait for the bugs to be fixed, which is hard work by real people btw, not some forum lines, you even complain. it is just unbelievable
sorry folks, i couldn't hold that back...
thanks for this rom/kernel!!!
i'll be testing the next few days and report back.
Bug report here:
WiFi Tether not working
I've been testing the RC1 rom for a while now. At first-thx for new development!
I'm coming from BPaul's 4.2.2 rom, so I do not clear data/factory reset as said, only cache and dalvik.
Now I'm looking for the new governors and scheduler, but nothing to find like smartass etc. Only 6 governors are present. Is this right? I thought the new kernel comes with a lot of new adjustments as described in the first post.
Under "battery" the display says that bluetooth consumption is by 96%, but it's switched off?
Also I had some reboots in 3 hours.
These are my first testing details. I'm going on and will wait for future updates, like fix for the camera and so on.
Thx for your hard work in the XAS section!
Now after testing: Problem with bluetooth is gone after full charging. Also i've replaced the camera with GS4 camera (XS thread) and it works fine so far.
Will test now more...
camera workaround:
replace the Gallery2.apk with the one from deedwars slimbean rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2322145) the camera seems to work fine.
edit: forgot to mention that it's missing HDR recording
a bug which this ROM has in common by deedwars JellyBeer 4.32 ( i guess same sources) is
when you search for networks via Mobile networks -> Network Operators and then click on your provider, you can't connect/register
Does this new kernel support GPU OC? Without it Android will be very laggy at the default 200MHz/266Mhz

Introduction
Here is my port of JB AOSP 4.3 for our Xperia S. This is a work in progress, it's currently missing few of the patches I used in 4.2.X and few things are completely untested.
Installation and downloads
You need unlocked bootloader and a working recovery.
Download installation zip from here, mirror thanks to @androidlover007 (I know, uploaded.net is not the fastest of the earth, multipload mirrors coming soon. I'm not against posting any other mirror).
Copy it to internal storage
Wipe Data/Cache
Install gapps for 4.3. Currently, we don't have "official" gapps from CM team, I used PA ones with good success.
Reboot and let the rom settle down a bit
Important: Current release has a recovery with broken offline charging, you should flash a fixed one after installing the rom to avoid any trouble. Check this post.
Kernel source code is here (branch jb-4.2-experimental).
Note: this rom flashes its own kernel that comes with TWRP recovery and last version of Boot Manager. Just use volume up/down to navigate boot manager menu and power to select if you want to go to TWRP. Don't play with Boot Manager options if you don't know what you're doing.

FAQ
Can I flash any kernel with it ?
No. This rom is using Nexus 4 proprietaries and requires matching video drivers. You must use embedded kernel.
Something is not working, crashed, whatever, how can I help ?
Please provide logs! Description is not enough, I need at least logcat and ideally dmesg. If phone reboots, go to recovery, get the /proc/last_kmsg file and provide it to me.
Dev options are missing ?
No, they're just hidden, it's now the default behavior in 4.2.x. To enable it, go to settings / about and tap multiple times on build number, menu will be enabled and stick after reboot.
* reserved, now you can go on *
Great And Fast Work.

Is there need to report bugs or it is too early for such thing?
Anyhow, I'm downloading right now, will report back with observations.
Log:
- Booting seems fine, some glitches but nothing to worry about...
- Font is kinda different, I like it, very much. It is even more close to Helvetica and for me it is very nice typeface porn
- Touch vibration is kinda shorter, more direct but weaker.
- Developer tools are updated with very nice features, everything mentioned at Google I/O 2013.
- Animations are smoother. It's not that "new ROM" smoothness, transitions between screens appear like constant 60fps, without that lag that sometimes occurs regardless on hardware.
- There are some differences in first time configuration, nothing radical but still...
- Google Play Store wont open, close it and relaunch and then it will show TOS. It lags a bit.
- Is it me or DPI is kinda different? Everything seems to be bigger. Icons in drawer, Google play apps... SystemUI feels kinda same. EDIT: 320dpi.
- AOSP keyboard icon is different. RAM usage is same, no lower usage or anything special. Available RAM - 622 MB.
- Touch responsivness seems a bit better.
- Texdroider DPI (DPI changer) doesn't work. On 4.2.2 it would work with OpenSEMC, but it's not the case on 4.3.
SuperSU does not work (no su binaries), this ROM is unrooted. To root it again do the following:
Download SuperSU 1.51 from here
Move it to your root folder on your phone
Turn your phone off, boot it into recovery
flash that zip you copied to your root folder "SuperSU 1.51"
Reboot to system.

Versioning explained:

*0.92 will be removed as an option once RC comes out
This ROM is a spin-off from Mr. Linscue's and CyanogenMod sources.
What makes it different is that it is built with Linaro toolchain, current 4.7., instead of Google supplied one.
It's a product of my curiosity, Mr. Linkscue's extensive patience with helping me to understand the whole picture and his work so far on our devices. This wouldn't be possible without him.
To be able to build with Linaro toolchain there is a lot of CM source editing and git cherry-picking to make code fit for Linaro's GCC so the final ROM can actually be compiled. Thanks to Open Source, Android, internet and XDA-devs, I have been able to make it real by collecting the info and conveying it to this ROM.
I have to remind you, this is my personal build, it was never intended to be released to the wide public, I'm not a programmer/coder and there is no warranty.
Few notes:
1
The build: This is a first functional build through Linaro for this phone. It's compiled with -O3 flag, so /system (ROM) side is 90% optimized. I' m continuing to find proper code snippets that will further improve the build.
2
Battery life. Kernel used is prebuilt Lenovo, therefore battery life should be similar to official ROM, bar the specific LenovoPower settings, however if you are installing CM you are expected to know how to manage your phone. Without Lenovo's updated kernel sources, further optimizations are not possible, either for performance or extending battery life. If you are experiencing poor battery life, there are two things, 1. You have just I nstalled the ROM, give it a few days for system to settle in. There are few things going on during first day or two that might deteriorate your battery life 2. You have an app installed that is keeping your phone awake, preventing it to go to deep sleep. You can install BetterBatteryStats from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 and find the offending app.
3
If you like it, use it. We are fixing general bugs as we go, and we know what those are. You may report them here but don't expect them to be fixed. Any app addition request or AOKP/MIUI/whatever port will not be entertained. As I said in the beginning, this is my personal build and I'm just sharing it with you.

I'm sorry, you are talking about transparent taskbar? That iis as much as I could understand from the pics you posted.
To put it bluntly, what is going on now is trying to build kernel from source to match 4.2.2 and then cleaning up of proprietary files. Any UI polishing/additions I might consider at later date. So far, it seems to be a very far date But hey, it is functioning so far and sorry, but no..

Phone board/bootloader recognizes several operating modes like off charge, on, off, test etc. Mr. Scue identified them and it is working, however there is a problem that when you boot the phone after charging it in off mode, screen will turn white around the edges sometimes. For safety of your devices this part of functionality is not included yet.
I'm not familiar with the USSD problem yet. Will have a look into it, but if it wasn't working in official release, it could take time to make it working here.

Ok, this questions now are going out of topic but let's chase this rabbit down the hole.
I am not familiar with the workings of youtube app (I assume you have successfully installed Play store and had it installed from there) so I am not sure what video/audio codecs it uses.
I can tell you right now one thing, related to video playback and Samsung's OMX codecs (the ****ty opensource ones) hw accel. video on this ROM is currently broken. I will soon reissue the ROM with files from official ROM to have that part working again, until I sort out what gets broken on OSS ones.
Currently I'm hands deep in kernel, I managed to transplant updated mali drivers into the old source to make it run on 4.2.2 and did some ugly hack job on HAL layer to have CM working, I have it at system stable level now. I'm tired and sorry for not being of much help, please google yourself and see what exactly are youtube app dependencies to make the videos run. If it uses on board hw codecs, I already told you what is the problem.
EDIT: try to disable GPU rendering for a test, in Developer options. just to see.
I flash several times this rom and always the same 2 problems ! Wifi doesnt work ! Stays there it said "turning wifi on..." and the 2nd camera program ( i dont remember the name ) always force close !!! Thanks
Sent from my K860 using xda app-developers app
what a great rom !! i hope you can fix the youtube problem and others minor problem soon!! :good:
Yup tried with GPU rendering disabled, HW accel enabled disabled.. Not just with youtube, videos don't work on many video content apps like imdb etc..

However, wifi and focal seems to be fine
I guess you've been waiting for this for quite a long time.
So I felt I should upload at least something and stop keeping these builds secret.
Before we start...
This is unstable. VERY unstable, compared to my latest CM10.1 build.
By the way, I had to remove CM10.1 build environment because I have no space left on SSD. No more CM10.1 builds from me, sorry
On a positive note, this build has (compared to CM10.1):
Camera button options (wake/unlock/peek/playback control) — I put this feature upstream. Try it, it's cool
Flash sync is fine
KSM works again (it just magically fixed itself)
DSPManager doesn't suddenly get unloaded from memory and break your listening experience
Persian language for hardware keyboard. The whole hardware keyboard support has been reworked.
Newer Trebuchet, with live folders, icon pack support and other stuff
RAM is about 150 MBytes free with Theme Chooser enabled

How to install?
The usual process, nothing different here.
1: backup
2: wipe
3: install the ROM
4: install Google Apps. I prefer PA GApps "Mini Modular Packages".
How do I report bugs?
Now that's important.
I've set up an issue tracker to prevent cluttering this thread.
Keep in mind that a bug report without a logcat/dmesg or at least a precise description of a bug wouldn't help anyone.
If you stumble upon anything strange — try to reproduce it (and save a logcat, just in case).
Pro-tip: use "adb logcat -C" to colorize the output and make it easier to read! (not sure if this works on Windows, though)
Unfortunately, there are bugs that are caused by CM devs or Google (GApps are buggy, too). I'll close these bug reports, because I just can't fix that. I'm not a magician
Issues we already aware of:
EGL: flashy CRT animation (disable it) and buggy hwcomposer (icons/widgets suddenly blacked out is also caused by it). This was the major show-stopper.
Switching SELinux to Enforcing mode will instantly make the phone freeze. Don't do this!
Trackpad wake/unlock doesn't work, and there's no way to enable it. I use "pure" CM frameworks_base that doesn't have these features baked in.
Camcorder FCs when you try to un-pause video recording.
[Fixed] AOSP Keyboard FCs if you don't install GApps — install them
[Fixed] Mobile data is unstable — edit build.prop to fix the issue.
Issue you should be aware of: (non ROM-related)
Don't buy Samsung laptops, they have display hinges made of a sh*tty plastic.

Kitkat?
While I still prepare my build environment for Kitkat and applying some patches to make it compile, you can have a build provided by guest1.
Initially, it was built purely for ringtone bug testing (factoid: every other htc msm7x30 device has ringtone shutting off randomly. I don't know why), but I think that'll do it for giving you an overview of what does CM11 look like at the moment.
This is even more unstable!
4.4 is also slower for some reason (probably because of different qcom_display repo used for it).
I did almost no tests with it, so there's probably a lot more to fix.

Once this gets a tad more stable I am going to for sure try this out. I just flashed a fresh rom today and I'm trying to limit the fact I flash a rom at least 7-15 times a week (it's addicting, what can I say).

I think, that we'll wait for kitkat for a long time yet... desire z isn't as famous as earlier, community is less and phones with HW qwerty as well.
BUT I'm a still faithful user and BIG THANKS for this great piece of rom and great work from devs! Thank you!
great news!!!! thanks hitted
Let's not clamor for Kitkat yet. The Galaxy S4 got a stable-ish build of Kitkat just a few days ago, and it'll take a while for unstable builds to come out from the official CM tree. When that happens, development will trickle down here.
I mean, I would like to maintain my always-faithful-if-slow backup phone. It's gotten me through some times when my other primary phones went dead on me.
I get server connection errors in the Google Play store with this ROM and the linked GApps. Is anyone else having this problem?
I can actually connect to the store fine, it's the downloading or updating of apps that it errors out on.

Go to settings --> Storage --> And I think there should be a cache storage size for the sd card+internal rom, clear those, sign out of your google account then sign back in! At least I think those are the steps, I can't fully recall
That did it! Thanks! In all the years I've had an android phone I've never had to do that after flashing a rom.

Yeah, from my research a few days ago on that problem it seems to be common in 4.3 roms for some unknown reason. I'm glad I could help!
I made an issue tracker.
That'd be easier to track bugs and get feedback without constantly quoting each other on forum pages. (because forums are linear)
I also decided to try to adapt some Sony/Samsung MSM7x30 changes. Maybe they've been more successful than we were?
If I were you, I would give up developing Android 4.3 and focus on preparing 4.4. But I am not a developer and I possibly don't know something so...
Anyway, thanks for making Android 4.3 happen on our Desire Z and good luck!
I will wait for 4.4 though.

Valid point.
The thing is, 4.4/CM11 is in early stage yet, and it will still need the same work I'm doing for 4.3 (plus, camera is broken on other MSM7x30 devices).
4.3 is at least able to boot
