I have a TP2 from Telus, with the original ROM and no programs installed.
When I press the power button, I must hit [Unlock] at left on the lower bottom of the screen, after the screen turn gray, and I have the message [Tap "Unlock" or press "*"]. Then I press the button [Unlock] just under the message. And just after that, I'm able to use the device.
My question is :
How could I remove this? When I press the power Button, I don't want to do this to have access to my device.
btw : The [Lock] option in [Settings -> Lock] is not anabled.
Thanks for help.
I dont know why it automatically locks it but the same effect can be achieved when you hold the call end button and select lock device from the quick list.
I'm considering getting a TP2 from Telus as well... I've heard there's no GPS in the Telus version. Can you confirm that?
Or if there's no GPS available in software, is the hardware still there, but just locked down?
(Sorry about not being able to answer your question, but it seems annoying to have to hit unlock like this... I'm interested in a solution too)
You have a GPS with the Telus version, I confirm. I installed Google Map, and it's working.
Place to improvement, but working : Don't work in my home, but outside, no problem.
Not the solution, but you will find a good workaround there :
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=77600
Another workaround discussed elsewhere: either slide the phone open, or remove the stylus. Either method wakes up the device without having to go through the unlock dance, and wakes up to wherever you left off.
Hope this helps.
I've got a suggestion but not sure if it'll work. Install the Advanced Config tool. See if the option is there to disable autolock. It's not there on my TP2 but it was available on my Touch Dual and my Touch Diamond.
By the way, it's funny but you should consider yourself lucky. So many users (myself included) are looking for ways to autolock the device natively.
Advantage of autolock: You won't have accidental screen presses when the device wakes up in your pocket without you knowing (eg, when the phone rings but you missed the call).
hehehe...
thats good, i am also looking for a solution to enable autolock,
(no 3rd apps.)
i compare the current registry with other devices,
maybe there is something

GPS working in GSM mode?
Hello hadez
quick question on GPS.
The Telus TP2 is a worldphone which can be switched to GSM for Europe as example.
Is the GPS chip available in GSM mode too?
Means if you switch to GSM, does googlemaps find a GPS chip?
All worldphones I used in the past the GPS did only work in CDMA mode.
I would like to have a worldphone which can navigate me in the rest of world not at home where I know the way.
Regards
highc

There is a reg tweak that makes this go away:
in registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd
set:
DeviceLockWhenSuspend
from 1 to 0

So I get on my samsung focus (at&t locked) and go onto the diagnostic mode (via the tethering hack) and type in different combos untill I get to a menu called Test Mode with some weird numbers and a back and end key. type this into your diagnostic mode (app) and you will see the same thing *#1111# and then I pushed another # for good measure and, sure enough it led me to the screen. Once this is tested, can someone PLEASE tell me what it is for? (ps, my phone will also not turn off or dim in this mode) (also, diagnostic menu has become an app now in my app list??!?)

That's the Samsung Diagnosis App on WP7, people have been using it for months now, here are some 60 codes that I could come up by brute-forcing the hash function in the app [1] and [2]
I'm using stock touch wiz is there a way to Change end call to slide and not a tap because I keep hitting it by accident
go into phone then menu > settings and check to see if you have call settings and should have an option for ending calls you can use the power button etc. i think there should be like 3 options there

I tried that but it still lets you hang up with touch button. I rather have a sliding motion then a tap if possible
try ex-dialer pretty sweet dialer with themes and might have an extra settings in there sorry couldn't help
I've owned one of these for almost a week now, and I keep finding myself wanting to be able to find an advanced options menu and change some things. Things such as the screen dim delay, gesture customization, and vibration intensity control, etc.
To that end, does anyone know if there's an app or a way to enable the watch to allow a one-press instant unlock function for the phone it is paired to? I keep my phone locked with a six digit code, the keypad having randomized positions (Feature from a custom ROM I use) each time the screen is turned on. I'd love if, when driving and I need to check something while the phone is in it's dock, I can just tap a key on my watch and have the phone unlock.
To THAT end, is there any way to enable some sort of security for the watch?
I know these things are brand new, but is anyone working on things like these? Does anything like this already exist?
search "trusted bluetooth". with lollipop and some custom ROMs(?) you can set the watch up as a trusted BT device, which will unlock the phone. things like "open on phone" actually pull the app up.
I have already activated "Accidental Touch Protection" option in my Samsung A50.
But Still when Phone is in pocket Lock screen gets activated and some keys are getting pressed.
Was having the same problem, someone suggested this fix and I have yet to test if it actually works but it seems fine till now.
What he suggested was going to settings > accessories > turn off automatic unlock from flip wallet
You can also disable double tap to wake & lift to wake and it'll also fix the issue, but that's not really a fix. The flip wallet disable thing, though, seems like an actual fix and you can keep all your settings enabled.
