When I share photo's on Google Plus, they only share as very small images. I don't think it used to happen on my SGSII and it isn't happening on my brothers Nexus S using the same network and all.
There are no settings within the app that I can see. Am I alone in this, or is it a Galaxy Nexus issue?
Anyone know why it would be doing this?
I have also noticed this.
It only seems to upload 320x240 pictures to Google+ if you upload manually. If instant upload is enabled, it uploads full size pictures. But this is of no use to those of us who do not want to upload every picture to Google+ via Instant Upload
I don't think that's it. I've had instant upload on for most of the week and it's posted them as small images. I've then turned them off today and just shared from my phone and they're still small.
Just now I've sync'd all images from my phone, when sharing one of them from my laptop, it posted a full size image.
Confusing...
I have to say - that's not consistent with my experience.
I have found that when using instant upload, my pictures are full size. But when not using instant upload, all pictures are 320x240. like this

For me over the past few days, it hasn't helped either way. For a week I've been on instant and that's when people have pointed out to me my pics are small I've swapped to not instant... same issue.
Well, it is a most annoying bug. I had noticed though, that even on the Nexus S it would only upload small images when on manual upload. My Nexus S would upload 640x480 pictures though, strangely.
picture taken and uploaded from Nexus S
Smaller images here too. Manual upload.
Must be a Nexus bug

Yeh I was going to say this, make sure it's updated.
I just got a brand new Galaxy Nexus GSM from the Play Store and all my images are being uploaded to Google+ as 320x240. I called 1-855-83-NEXUS (63987) and the support rep suggested to transfer them to my computer and then upload to Google+ from there. He didn't even suggest to turn on instant upload and do it that way which is far easier anyways.
Anyways, point being that this is stock ICS (4.0.4) with latest G+ app and this is happening by default. Is anyone else who purchased this from the Play Store having this issue?

Working now, it actually took the images I previously uploaded (320x240) as well and made them original resolution. I just tested a fresh upload and it was there within seconds and original resolution too. Not sure what happened but I am glad it is working.
I had this problem as well with the most updated Google+ and current Android Version 4.0.4.
Previously I had Google+ restored with Titanium Backup and it was registered as a system app.
The solution was to forcefully remove the Google+ app via Titanium Backup and install it fresh from the market.
Same thing on EVO

This isn't unique to the Nexus, I think it's an issue with Google+. It has been happening on my Evo 4G with MIUI ICS. I just flashed back to MIUI GB and am getting the same results with the latest G+.

Thanks it now works
Had the same problem, on my SGS2 - only very small pictures on G+ when uploaded directly from the phone. Stock ICS and latest G+ app.
I resolved it by going to going to the market - un-installing all the G+ app updates and then immediately updating to the latest version again.
Just thought I'd add this info, since you can do this without even having root on the device.

I even don't find google music option in Accounts & Sync settings.
The Google+ link no longer works.
Here is a few mirrors.
When you initially start up the music app it asks for permission to presumably connect with google servers and sync your music, but it didn't work. And like a few others said, there are no options to sync anything in the menu.
Music app works fine for me, though it never asked me for permission for anything. All my cloud based music played though. Google+ is hung up at Signing in...
Not working at all for me. I uninstalled all previous versions of google music, and I try running the new apk everything looks good but says "application not installed". Running 2.3.6 any ideas folks?

Music 4.0 needs to be push to system/app to get sync option back on menu
Also need to remove old version
I deleted market Music, installed new version, wiped data on applications menu then new music worked fine, synced everything.
Same with Google+, uninstalled current, installed new, didn't need to clear data/cache for it, and signed into the new app, works great.

This did not work for me at all. Didn't even recognize that I pushed it to system/app
Going back to the old one I guess
Edit: now I can't figure out how to remove it from /system. I did searches in supermanager for it, rebooted, tried to reinstall the market app; all that said was package file signed incorrectly. So basically it's a big mess now.
I would recommend NOT, NOT pushing this to system/app
Also, for Google Plus if you push it int System/App it'll work.

Images? Forget about images, this has to be downloading high quality videos to get to 9GB.
I have some serious security concerns about what this app is doing. You should try to sniff the data and see how much its sending versus receiving. I'd be curious to know what IP addresses it is communicating with. Did you install it directly from the market?

Hi,
I am the dev of this app.
1. when you have such trouble, please contact me by email (hopefully somebody did).
2. check if it load images and images sizes. It doesn't load 'thumbnails' from the websites, but full images if thumbnails are not available ... so, if the website use big images of 2Mb ... it can goes quickly.
3. disable widget cache if it was enable
4. here is my widget with 3h refresh period and 8 feeds :

5. if you use the internal viewer, all browsing you does in the viewer is counted ... video streaming, downloads...
@deekjx : For comments about 'security concerns', dump the UDP/TCP trafic if you want, there is nothing hidden. But, please, be careful before publishing such comments. Now, if the app doesn't come from the market, you can be right... few users reported Pure calendar hacked bersions containing viruses because they got it from a 'forum'.
Please, email me logcats just after a manual refresh to check what is wrong.
Same for me too
Switched to manual update worked fine. contacted dev through market
Does using Google+ INSTANT UPLOAD feature cause high battery drain?
My phone used to be able to go into DEEP SLEEP mode but ever since I turned on G+ Instant Upload feature, my phone looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
NOTE: The phone is NOT actually uploading anything at the time of the screen shot. G+ Instant Upload uses tons of battery just doing nothing! The battery was 100% and the phone was in sleep mode the whole time.
Is this happening to anyone else? I'm on Kang milestone 1. How do we let Google know that their G+ app sucks?
I don't see this myself.
I'm on 4.0.2 and using the latest Google+ app.
I can see that Google+ has the potential to cause problems if it were trying to upload photos on a poor connection.. that could certainly explain similar the behaviour you saw.
ditto. I used Google + upload feature once. Until I realized it uploaded a ton of crap to Google I really didn't want online. I specifically opted to not upload automatically. I didn't even notice it until I bought my son a nook tablet for Christmas. Hacked it of course, and in the Gallery was a ton of photos from Google plus. Glad I found them when I did.

The choice is there for all to choose.
Personally I use Android and Google+ mainly for this feature. I think it suits my needs well to have every photo I take uploaded to Picasa (now Google+) in a private album ready for sharing when I need to.
But.. if it's not for you, disable instant upload.

I like the feature. It's nice having automatic cloud backup of your phone gallery. But, it's not nice when the phone screen is off, it's not loading anything and yet drains the battery like no other.
After using CPU spy, I also noticed that it's not going into DEEP SLEEP anymore.
I turned of INSTANT UPLOAD for now to see if it can DEEP SLEEP again.
I haven't had any problems on 4.0.2 with current Google+ I only allow my photos to be uploaded via wifi.

Actually it's the messager+ feature of google plus that ran away with the battery on mine even though I never used it. It was constantly using the battery running something called the friend locator service in maps. I think it was latitude. I killed it and disabled latitude (which I never enabled) and my battery skyrocketed.

Are you sure you're using the latest version (2.3.1.242969)?
For some reason the latest G+ update doesn't show up in the "Apps that need updating" list.
You have to manually search it in the market and then you'll see that there is an update.
I had the same issue as OP where Google+ was taking approx 66% of battery even when the phone was idle, and I had not been actively using Google+ previously. I assumed that perhaps instant upload was uploading the rest of the pics that I manually placed in the DCIM folder, but never bothered verifying.
In settings->Appls, I noticed that I could disable Google+ which is what i did, since then battery life is awesome! (you may need to un-install a Google+ update before getting the 'disable' option)

I had the same issue once. Found that G+ was trying to upload several large videos along with my pictures. I had set it to upload only via wifi... The videos were really big and never uploaded but the battery drained just like the OP. I had to move the videos from my camera folder to another one. Once the videos got out of the camera folder, the battery drain stopped and haven't had any other problems since.
I wish Google would give an option to upload videos. I love the instant upload feature...but hate it does not let you opt out of uploading videos.

If I use stock 4.1.1 and stock 4.1.2, I can see and install Photoshop Touch.
Anything other than stock, including using CM10 or AOKP roms, then I can see but cannot install Photoshop Touch with a message saying it is incompatible with my rom.
My solution was to install an old apk of the software (found on the web, any will do). Then, since I actually bought the app, it simply proposed me to update through the Store.

I must be doing something wrong. Attempted the same thing, I'm not rooted nor do I currently wish to be (long story there, I'll leave my Xoom to be the rooted one for now) but as it stands, this did not work for me.
Upon installation on 4.1.2, the market recognized Adobe Proto and Adobe Ideas were installed. I cannot get these to update via the store since they are still seen as incompatible with my Nexus 7. Great...
And I paid for those two.
[edit]
Just had an email response from Google Play regarding the purchase of the app and subsequently being unable to reinstall after a factory reset.
Here is what they wrote:
Hi Stephen,
Thanks for writing back. I do see that you've done a factory data reset. I'm sorry to hear you're still experiencing this issue. Apparently you were able to download the app before but it is correct that the app isn't actually compatible with the Nexus 7.
If you're still not able to find a certain app, please keep in mind apps that aren’t compatible with your device are hidden when you search for them on Google Play. Developers of Android apps can choose to filter devices based on a variety of criteria, including Android OS version, carrier, location, or even screen size. According to our records, Adobe Photoshop Touch is incompatible with your device because it doesn't match the developer's specifications on for the device's screen density.
Because you were able to purchase this app and are now unable to use it, I've gone ahead and filed this refund request on your behalf - you'll receive another email within 14 business days confirming that the request has been processed.
Thanks in advance for your patience, and if you have additional questions or if you don't receive a second email with this confirmation, please let me know.
Regards,
Eddie

I spent two+ hours last night trying to spoof my N7 as various compatible tablets so I could download it, and succeeded only in soft-bricking (fixed by reflashing OTA).
It looks like Google has closed some/all of the loopholes that used to allow you to fool the store. Nothing I tried worked.

Same thing happens to me. Not only on my gnex(using CM10.1) but also on my note 10.1. I've tried to disable/reboot but nothing seems to work.
Same issue here. Can someone attach the .apk?

Try using titanium backup, or root explorer to delete talk from system/app, reboot and then download and install. If that doesn't work here's the apkhttps://copy.com/Ue2Qj

Apk worked. Thanks! I don't like deleting anything from system if I don't have to. Usually have update issues down the road if I do.

best way to install it is ! install titanium backup > uninstall the stock google talk and then go to play store and install the new one works awesome

Greetings people! Newbie here
Anyone having issues with video calls?
I followed the titanium backup method to install the app and now video calls go through both Hangouts AND Google+ app as well.

@gizmo9002 It seems that the video calls can only go through on the WiFi and not over cellular right now... Try using it over WiFi to confirm.

So there is no way to see which contacts are online using this right?
If you're on a computer, go to Google plus page and turn hangouts on, there is a green line under the picture of contacts who are online. My list of contacts that show are just frequently used ones though. I know this isn't the same but maybe it will show up in the app soon.

Strangely, no contacts show in my G+ hangouts sidebar either. Maybe it isnt implemented in my country or something. Because I removed the talk app from system and downloaded hangouts....

Mine comes and goes. If I log off hangouts and close g+ and wait a couple minutes usually the contacts show up after I go back into it.

Well its just been a day it rolled out. Hopefully all this will get ironed out eventually. Till then, i'm back to talk
I like it but i am stressing because I don't know when persons are online or not

It doesn't show status messages, status, nor does it allow you to set either one. This is a terrible step back from Google Talk. Not to mention it forcibly lumps all of your Google+ contacts in with your GTalk contacts.
That doesn't help me. I don't talk to those people. I use GTalk to talk to a select few people who have limited SMS per month and one person who uses a tablet with mobile data and a dumbphone.
Google really dropped the ball with this pile of junk app. The new iteration of the Music app isn't any better. They've been cocking everything up since the horrid 4.2 lockscreen abomination.
