[Q] 2.2 Sense Issues :(

WHAT DO I DO!!!!
So I've rooted my phone (unrevoked)
and it is S-OFF (unrevoked forever)
now...
for some reason...
ONLY Sense roms that are 2.1 work.
And ONLY CM6 works.
ALL OTHER SENSE ROMS reboot random.
I cannot get any other rom to work with my evo
Any suggestions?
Maybe its the kernels i'm using?
Or maybe it's just my evo
Here are the evo specs:
SuperSonic EVT2-3 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.93.000
Touch Panel - ATMEL224_16ab
Radio - 2.15.00.09.01
WIMAX + NV + PRI + PRL all latest updates

did you previously back up on a 2.1 rom and are you trying to do a titanium back up or another restre of apps and system settings by chance?
if so thats your problem.
you can restore apps but not system settings and data if they were origonally taken from a 2.1 rom.
if not then can you explain more about what you are doing.
are you installing apps etc?
my suggestion is this flasha 2.2 rom do not back up or isntall any apps yet and do not flash a new kernal. if youa re still getting random reboots then something is up if not then try flashing the enw kernel and repeat if still nothing then start installing apps. at least that will narrow down your search.

i've installed the newest RUU and completely unrooted the phone.
if it reboots randomly i'll take it back to sprint and get a refurb
Edit: So...it randomly rebooted. gotta take it back .haha

Help wiht phone problem after new rom??

I tried searching but coudnt find an answer, I have had my EVO for about 3 months now and recently rooted phone+installed myn's warm 2.2 rls3, shortly after doing so my phone would randomly go into roaming, if i try to make an outgoing call it gives me some error that verizon coudnt verify my phone (iam on sprint)
ALso, i have been having constant issues with my sms not going out, it gives me error that my network radio timedout .......
Has anyone ran into this problem after flashing a new rom?

what HW version do you have? most likely it's due to the HW version. My hw v002 doesn't work well with 3.30 builds (RLS 3 is one of them).... but works great with 3.29 builds (RLS 2)
You can find your HW version by Menu > Settings > About Phone > Hardware

Hey thanks for the heads up, my hardware version is "0003" could this be the problem? if so how can i update/upgrade it?
Anyone else ever have this problem?

First, I'd try doing a nandroid backup, wiping Cache, Dalvik, and data, then reinstalling Warm 2.2.
If you have an old nandroid backup, you can try restoring that, if you use Amon's recovery, it can backup some stuff Clockwork can't.
If those don't work, you probably have a radio problem, which is a bit... harder... to fix. What rooting method did you use? Did it require you to flash new radios?

I will give it a shot later today to see if hte problem persist. I rooted it by doing the unrevoked method,

You can't change the HW version. Late HW 003's (in the last month) have the new camera hardware and all the 004's do. Only the Evo's that shipped with 3.30 have the new hardware.
It could be the problem given you have older hardware. All the 3.30 ROMs I have tried on my HW 002 would have terrible lag and once I went back to a 3.29 ROM things have been peachy. And I start completely from scratch each time I use a new ROM (clear temp, reboot back to recovery, format all, reboot back to recovery, flash rom)

Is this 002 and 3.30 problem for everyone or are there others besides me who don't have any problems.

There is something different enough (IMHO) in the framewor between late-model 003/004 and 002 that any 3.30 ROM gives problems to hw ver 002. I had nothing but issues on any 3.30 ROM but went to Azrael 2.5 (newly built exclusively for early-model 003 and lower utilizing build 3.29) and have had no problems at all.
I even tried stock 3.30 and had issues... but stock 3.29 didn't.
For me the proof is in the pudding....

I have hardware version 0003. I've been using rls3 since release (which is 3.30) and have yet to have a single issue. Been using HTC 17 kernel for a week or so. My evo is smooth as glass and flies(as it does with all of myns roms). Never had a fc or any error for that matter, so Idunno. One thing I've learned is that all evos are different, and react differently to different software, even if two have the same HW version, they can still act totally different with the same mods. So I don't know how I feel about the 3.30 being strictly for HW 0004. it works perfectly for me...

[Q] Wireless/USB tethering stops working after a while

Using the latest Wireless Tether, works really well at first but eventually the internet stops working within 10 minutes. Same story with the internet through USB tethering.
I have:
The latest Fresh Rom 3.5
Root access
Spare parts (WiFi sleep policy not an issue)
Could the radio / PRI drivers be an issue ??? I am having trouble updating to the latest versions for fresh 3.5 as I am currently using Baseband: 2.15.00.09.01 and current PRI: 1.77_003
Please help me out guys lol

If you're using the android-wifi-tether, try using a new version.
I've had issues with past versions myself doing this.

Tried several different WiFi tether apps, still same symptoms...

This problem has been reported several times. Usually it has to do with the channel you are broadcasting on i.e. 1 through 12. You can change the channel within the app settings. I usually keeping mine on 12, and I rarely have a problem. Try it out.

un-root, re-root, flash Fresh 3.5, Flash Amon RA with Rom Manager, Flash radio, flash PRI ------------- BACKED UP!!!
Everything up to date and working %110
Its 3am and I got class in the morning, couldnt give up my EVO tho... she just needed a little more attention than i thought

[Q] Camera makes phone freeze and reboot

While using the camera to take pictures the phone will occasionally freeze and reboot.
I've had this problem for about a month and it doesn't matter which camera app I use and it happens in both RCmixS and MIUI so I don't think it's a ROM specific issue.
It didn't happen before i rooted and I don't think I experienced this before I flashed the CM7 HBOOT but I don't see how the HBOOT version would affect the camera.
Any ideas?

Try upgrading your radio to a 5.17.xx.xx one.... should fix your problem.

I do have 5.17.05.08 and it also occasionally freezes and reboots. This must be connected somehow by android 2.3 roms, as on Froyo roms the problem does not happen.

Flashed 5.17.05.23 and it actually seems to be working, been taking pictures like crazy tonight just to provoke a freeze and nothing yet. Camera360 is working flawlessly now!
MIUI Camera still gives me the occasional FC's and crashed camera so I have to reboot to restore function, but no more "surprise reboots" today at least.
Let's just hope it stays that way

[Q] Wi-Fi doesn't work. Need help. I'm new to this.

Hello, I'm new here to this and to the flashing stuff and rest.
I wanted to do some change to my buzz so I just flashed my 2.2.1 to 2.3.7 (CyanogenMod-7.1.0.1).
Everything was fine, flashed Gapps also.
The only thing is my wi-fi isn't working.
It can't even connect. It's like refreshing by 3 secs and doing that in a circle.
/// What I Did:
- Reflashed CyanogenMod twice.
- Reflashed my radio (the newest version anyway).
/// Specs:
- Android 2.3.7
- CyanogenMod-7.1.0.1
- Radio 3.35.20.10
- HBOOt 6.01.1002
- S-OFF
Did everything today and WiFi was working in the morning perfectly (on 2.2.1)
Just let me know if you want to know something more. Thanks guys.
Heard that Regulatory domain may cause that problem. Tips?

first of all: you asked if regulatory domain could have to do with your problem. If you have access to your WiFi's settings you could check that by simply changing the channels (the procedure for that might be totally different in different routers). From my experience I doubt it anyway but I might be wrong here.
Another possibility to check if your phone's WiFi works or not would be to log into a different network - no idea if you could do that.
The reason I'm suggesting this first is, we could of course suggest things you might try with your phone - but - if your WiFi is the problem this might take some days and wasting lots of posts without any result or help

Did you do wipe all? I think if you installed CyanogenMod 7.2 it would be ok then. Give a try

Some tests that you can do:
- Flash an older radio, to see if the radio didn't got corrupted somehow. Reboot the phone and then flash the newer again;
- Flash the stable CM7.2;
Did you have issues with the stock ROM and the wifi?
